Linda Masarira: Zimbabweans Should Not Mock Mnangagwa For Addressing Empty Auditorium

Tinashe Sambiri|Controversial political figure Linda Masarira is being roasted on social media platforms after attempting to defend beleaguered Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Mr Mnangagwa addressed an empty auditorium at United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow on Tuesday.

The troubled Zanu PF leader is facing protests in Glasgow with human rights activists calling for his expulsion from the conference.

Masarira wrote on Twitter:
“When
@HHichilema
from Zambia was addressing, it was empty. Zambians aren’t mocking their President about it. We need to take time & introspect as Zimbabweans.

Brand Zimbabwe is more important than the bitterness most Zimbabweans harbour. We only have one Zimbabwe.”

However, angry citizens say Masarira’s attempt to endorse Mnangagwa is futile.

“Mr Mnangagwa is unsellable,” observed one Manners M.

“Sit down Linda, Mnangagwa is doomed,” Marry J commented.

Hailstorm Leaves Trail Of Destruction In Mutare

By A Correspondent- Hailstorm hit parts of Mutare rural and left a trail of destruction with over 100 homesteads, schools and clinics, among other infrastructure heavily damaged.

Mutare Rural district development co-ordinator Wilson Boore said the hailstorm hit the area on Monday.

“The hailstorm affected ward 20, Jaricha and Revesai villages, where 28 households were destroyed. It also affected ward 34 in Nyagundi village, where 54 households were destroyed,” he said.

“Most houses had their roofs ripped off, while walls were damaged. Councillors and traditional leaders are still compiling a list of those affected by the hailstorm.”

Boore said Munyarari and Chinyauhwera primary schools were also affected by the hailstorm.

“As I speak, teachers at these schools are staying in the open. However, their issues are being addressed.  Munyarari Clinic was severely damaged. The clinic has six rooms which were destroyed. These include the labour, drug, HIV and observation rooms,” he said.

Boore urged government to swiftly respond to natural disasters and assist the affected families, while also pleading for assistance from development partners.

Retired Army Colonel Appeals For Help

By A Correspondent- Retired Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Colonel Mutero Johane Masanganise whose Bushmead mansion was recently gutted by fire is appealing for financial support to refurbish his property.

The mansion that caught fire at around 2pm on October 12 was extensively damaged while properties worth millions of dollars were burnt to ashes.

A veld fire is alleged to have originated from a residential stand which is under construction next to Rtd Col Masanganise his home.

The Retired service chief said he has been receiving heart-warming support from the community and appealed for financial support for him to be able to reconstruct the mansion.

“My community stood by me since tragedy struck. I was given clothes, a stove, pots, a fridge and all kinds of utensils and above all emotional support.

“The people of Bushmead really showed me what love is and I am very grateful for that. I appeal to anyone who feels in their heart to help me and my family to rebuild our home to come forward,” said Masanganise.

Masanganise added that efforts to stop the fire did not reap the desired results as it had destroyed property worth over ZW$9 million.

“The neighbours called the Fire Department which arrived at the scene within half an hour but damage had already been done. I lost a lot because the value of the damaged structures is over ZW$9.7million,” added Masanganise.

Sources however allege that contract workers who were working on the next house that is owned by an unnamed United Kingdom based person started the fire and failed to control it.

Harare Man Falls From Bridge While Posing For A Picture

By A Correspondent- A Harare man was rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals yesterday after he fell while posing for some photographs at a footbridge along Julius Nyerere Way.

The man, only identified as Vincent, sustained head injuries and his photographer disappeared from the scene.

Scores of people took turns to record Vincent while writhing in pain only to receive comfort from his wife after he instructed one of the sympathisers at the scene to call her.

“I was posing for some photographs when I slipped from the footbridge,” said Vincent writhing in pain.

“Someone is calling my wife,” he added.

Vincent’s wife and one of the relatives refused to entertain the press.

Paramedics attended Vincent and rushed with him to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

Julius Nyerere Way footbridge has protective rails by its sides and Vincent could have climbed up the rails presumably to capture a moment leading to the fall.

Chin’ono’s Trial Postponed

By A Correspondent- The trial of controversial journalist Hopewell Chin’ono who is being charged with obstructing justice might be postponed to February 2022 after the State asked for further remand on the basis that they are now wanting to contact Twitter over the charges.

Chin’ono is accused of breaching his bail conditions by tweeting about the court outcome of a gold smuggling scandal despite a ban on him posting on Twitter.

The charge is linked to the arrest of Zimbabwe Miners Federation head Henrietta Rushwaya at Harare Airport on October 26 as she was about to board a flight to Dubai with six of gold in her hand luggage.

In a tweet, Chin’ono said he had talked to prosecutors about Rushwaya, an act which the state said had jeopardised “the integrity of the case against himself and that of Rushwaya”.

Said Chin’ono:

The State has asked for further remand on the basis that they are now wanting to contact Twitter. They have applied for a long remand to February 2022. This is meant to just keep me constrained! We are now waiting for the magistrate to make a ruling on the state’s request

This is the tweet that resulted in my arrest on November 3, 2020. I spent 23 days in Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

By A Correspondent| Model Girlfriend By A Correspondent A Harare, SA based slay queen and model, Panashe Munetsi who has made headlines for faking pregnancies and miscarriages as a way of trapping her ‘blessers’ is denying rights to a certain man claiming fatherhood of her four year old son.

Munetsi who is reported to be struggling and preying on Khama Billiat after she hit a brickwall with three other men she has been blackmailing to accept fatherhood of her son.

A close source ,speaking on anonymity status has revealed that a Harare based man known as Sipho Dube is claiming to be the father of the child, however he is being denied the right due to his poor social status.

“ We know one Sipho Dube is the father of the son, yes her and Khama Billiat had a one night stand some years back .However ,Sipho has been coming time and again trying to get access to the child and even asking for paternity tests as he is fully convinced that he is the father of Panashe’s son.

“ We know Sipho Dube and even one Dj Flavour knows the lad as he played a part in the making up of the chemistry between Dube and Panashe, the only thing is that Dube is not a big horn, he lives in Mabvuku, totally broke and considered of less class compared to the top dudes who rock with the model,” revealed the source.

This publication is reliably informed that Munetsi who is currently based in SA has hit financial hard times and failing to afford the lavish slay style of living she is used to.

“Panashe is in financial doldrums and the more she has been exposed for being a cobra in high heels and red lipstick the faster she has been losing her grip on ‘blessers’ and the only trump card close to her chest is extorting Khama but we are saying she has to come out clean and give responsibility to where it is due,” added the source.

Efforts to get a comment from Sipho Dube were futile as he was unreachable at the time of publishing.

Tendai Ndoro’s Wife Speaks Out

By A Correspondent- Tendai Ndoro’s former wife, Thando Maseko, has said she is not the woman who kicked him out of their home and took possession of all the couple’s vehicles. Ndoro is reported to have registered all the couple’s properties in his wife’s name.

A weekly publication identified Thando Maseko as Ndoro’s South African wife but Maseko reached out to iHarare and denied being the woman at the centre of Ndoro’s woes.

She stated that her marriage to the footballer ended in 2018 and that she never stayed at the palatial Kyalami Estates, from which Tendai Ndoro was recently kicked out.

She revealed that before their marriage collapsed in 2018, the couple stayed at a rented house in Boksburg and Ndoro was not the owner of the property. Thando furnished iHarare with documents to back what she is saying. Said Thando:

“I just wanted to clear the air. On the issue that was posted about me, This lady in the picture is not me. People are mistaking me for the lady Tendai was dating after our marriage ended in 2018.

“I’ve not seen Tendai since then, and I’ve never lived in Kyalami. When I was staying with him, we were in a rented house in Boksburg, and he didn’t own that property.”

Maseko added that she only started seeing the footballer driving luxurious cars after her marriage had collapsed when he began seeing someone else.

After the marriage ended, Thando was evicted from the rented Boksburg house, as Ndoro had stopped paying rentals.

On the issue of the photos making the rounds online, Thando revealed that the lady in question is not her. She said that contrary to the claims being made, the lady in question is actually a Zimbabwean and not a South African as alleged.

Thando Maseko reiterated that she is not looking to spoil her ex-husband’s name. She feels that he is going through a lot and does not want to add to his woes. She said she is only looking to clear her name and to do right by her family.-IHarare

Somizi is a celebrated homosexual in South Africa and was recently married to another man before they broke up.

The Sarafina actor and Idols South Africa judge was due to attend the re-opening of Garwe Restaurant.

ED Addresses An Empty Auditorium As Zimbos Picket Outside Venue

By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday addressed an almost empty auditorium at the Climate Change (COP26) summit in Glasgow, Scotland.

Mnangagwa made his address before empty seats, as did all the leaders who delivered their addresses during the 9am to 1pm slot.

Over 120 heads of State and 25 000 delegates are attending the summit.

As Mnangagwa was addressing, scores of United Kingdom-based Zimbabweans were picketing outside the conference room, denouncing him over the country’s bad human rights record, while others extolled him for his re-engagement efforts in the face of adversity.

This is not the first time Mnangagwa has addressed an empty auditorium. In September 2019, he addressed a near empty 1 800-seater auditorium at the 74th United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York.

It is not customary that State Presidents would address packed auditoriums as many leaders would be following proceedings from other venues or attending other ongoing events elsewhere.

In his address yesterday, Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe was battling the effects of climate change which had resulted in severe droughts and cyclone-induced floods.

“It is most unfortunate that the impact of climate change is disproportionately borne by vulnerable communities that have contributed the least to the current stock of atmospheric carbon,” he said.

“Vulnerable countries must, therefore, be capacitated to mitigate, adapt and build resilience to climate change. The expectation is that the major emitters will scale up mitigation action and show greater interest in adaptation.

“Decisions at this COP26 should strengthen the implementation of current nationally determined contributions.

“It is further imperative that the set emission reduction targets are anchored on supporting, financing and equipping countries to gradually and sustainably migrate from fossil to renewable energy.”

He added: “Notwithstanding that as a country we are ‘a net sink’, I am pleased to highlight that Zimbabwe has revised its nationally determined contributions, a committed conditional 40% per capita greenhouse gas emissions reduction target by 2030.

“Comprehensive strategies are being implemented towards mainstreaming climate change adaptation and resilience across all sectors of our economy.”

Mnangagwa repeated the call for the lifting of sanctions.

Social media users reacted differently to Mnangagwa’s address, with some saying he did not deserve an audience at the climate change summit since his government was contributing to environmental hazards.

Mnangagwa’s government has been widely criticised for approving the construction of houses on wetlands and unsustainable mining activities, particularly by Chinese companies, with detrimental effects to the environment.

Presidential spokesperson George Charamba, posting on his @Jamwanda2 Twitter handle, said there was nothing untoward about the empty auditorium during Mnangagwa’s address.

“Absolute confusion in terms (of) who the audience for UN summits are,” he said.

“The unschooled think the audience is in the immediate auditorium of delivery. Quite sad, embarrassing in fact!!!!”

Meanwhile, opposition MDC alliance leader Nelson Chamisa said his party had a clear climate change policy that spoke to the creation of new jobs in renewable energy industries.

“To reduce the frequency of extreme weather shocks like cyclones, bold acceleration towards more sustainable methods of generating energy, manufacturing goods, transportation, urban development, and farming need to be taken by all countries. Net zero emissions by 2050 is the target,” Chamisa said in a statement.

“As the next government, our climate change policy is clear. While the journey to net zero by 2050 appears daunting, it represents a unique opportunity for Zimbabwe to create new jobs in new industries like renewable energy, electric vehicles, smart farming and green manufacturing.”

Chiwenga Extends Covid-19 Lockdown By Two Weeks

Acting President Constantino Chiwenga yesterday extended the Covid-19 induced level two national lockdown by another two weeks.

He also said vaccination centres are required to commence vaccinating the 16-17-year age group with immediate effect after the Government extended the exercise to the older teenagers on Monday.

In a statement yesterday, Acting President Chiwenga said the lockdown extension comes at a time when the country has recorded a decline in the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths.

He said the decline in the number of Covid-19 cases speaks to the effectiveness of the lockdown measures put in place by Government.

“The last two weeks has seen a reduction in the number of cases of Covid-19 which has resulted in the country recording an average of 45 new cases per day and an average of one death per day.

“This indicates that the lockdown public health measures currently in place are effective in controlling the transmission of the virus,” he said.

Acting President Chiwenga said globally and nationally, public health discussions have been ongoing regarding extending vaccination to children and other special groups such as pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

“Based on the available scientific data in line with Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe guidance, the specialist paediatricians have recommended the vaccination of the 16 to 17 years age group with the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine,” said Acting President Chiwenga.

“The public is hereby advised that the Covid-19 vaccination for the 16 to 17 years age group has been approved. All the provinces, secondary schools, colleges, universities and vaccination centres are hereby required to commence the vaccination campaign of this age group with immediate effect. For the avoidance of doubt the only vaccine type eligible for this age is the Sinovac Covid-9 vaccine.”

Acting President Chiwenga said Government, through the Ministry of Health and Child Care, is determined that Zimbabwe achieves herd immunity by the end of December.

ZESN Slams ZEC, Govt Over By-Elections Delays

An independent election watchdog has said the discord between the Health ministry and Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) over pending by-elections is clear confirmation of confusion on who is in charge of the polls.

Zec chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba told diplomats a fortnight ago that the electoral body was ready to conduct by-elections, and was waiting for Vice-President and Health minister Constantino Chiwenga to lift his statutory instrument suspending the polls.

Chiwenga’s deputy John Mangwiro, however, last week said the ministry had nothing to do with elections.

“Worryingly, this discord is disturbing and a sure sign of policy inconsistency and confusion on who authorises or suspends the holding of by-elections. In turn, this affects the credibility of elections and is contrary to promoting democracy and relevant human rights,” the Zimbabwe Election Support Network (Zesn) said in a statement yesterday.

“The continued suspension of by-elections is non-compliant to regional and international instruments that govern the conduct of democratic elections that Zimbabwe is signatory to.”

There are 28 vacancies in Parliament and 105 in local government following the recall of MDC Alliance legislators and councillors by Douglas Mwonzora’s MDC-T.

Observers and election watchdogs have argued that suspending elections can never be an option whatsoever the circumstances, arguing that such a practice was an assault on democracy.

According to Zesn, there is no reason why elections remain suspended when large public gatherings are being allowed, citing a church gathering of the African Apostolic Church on October 23 in Harare South which attracted over 16 000 congregants.

Last week, Mnangagwa addressed a bussed crowd of thousands in Mwenezi, Masvingo province, on the anti-sanctions day as the number of oversubscribed political party gatherings continue to surge.Last week, Zanu PF held a conference in Bindura, Mashonaland Central province, which was attended by over 250 delegates.

“This brings into question the sincerity of the continued suspension of by-elections on account of the protection of public health, especially as by-elections are due in only selected wards and constituencies where only local voters will participate and turnout is usually low in by-elections,” Zesn added.

Neighbouring South Africa, which has the highest COVID-19 deaths in Africa, held municipal elections on Monday. A number of countries have also held elections under the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mnangagwa Accused Of Abusing Presidential Powers

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has been accused of abusing powers enshrined in the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) Act to make autonomous pronouncements that violate human rights

.This was revealed in a 2020/21 report on civic society submissions to the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) which stated that since he assumed power in 2017, Mnangagwa has been unnecessarily invoking the Act, and has made 25 proclamations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

APRM is Africa’s governance self-assessment tool by civic society organisations (CSOs) which aims to improve governance on the continent by advocating for the adoption of policies, standards and practices that lead to political stability.

The report said Mnangagwa’s COVID-19 pronouncements resulted in by-elections being postponed.

It said the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) Act usurped the law-making function ordinarily vested in Parliament.  The Act can only be used in exceptional circumstances.

“The President invoked this Act to counter the COVID-19 crisis which gave him the power to implement unilateral regulations without Parliamentary oversight,” the CSOs said in their submissions.“The Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) (Deferral of Rent and Mortgage Payments during National Lockdown) Regulations, 2020 is a typical example of the unilateral implementation of regulations by the President.

“For the better part of 2020 and 2021, the country was operating at various degrees of the national lockdown implemented through presidential powers without Parliamentary approval.

“While it is understandable that the country and the world were tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and that extraordinary measures needed to be taken, the overuse of presidential powers to implement over 25 regulations impacted citizens’ rights to representation,” the report read.

It said giving sweeping powers to the President to enact regulations on issues that should be regulated through an Act of Parliament was an affront to the principle of separation of powers.

The report further raised alarm over the continued shrinking of civic space and the ploy by the Mnangagwa’s administration to silence dissenting voices through abuse of law enforcement agents in a bid to retain power.

The CSOs also said on October 22, 2020, Mnangagwa vowed to push for crafting of the Private Voluntary Organisations Amendment Bill to muffle non-governmental organisations and private voluntary organisations.

“Similarly, the proposed introduction of a Patriotic Bill, which intends to criminalise the work of CSOs and opposition party supporters, is another worrisome development. When viewed in unison, these developments point to a systematic attack on CSOs and democratic spaces, by threatening civic activity and limiting freedom of speech.”

The CSOs said a COVID-19-induced state of disaster was not a state of emergency.

Trouble Brewing As Mnangagwa, Zanu PF Are Served With Court Papers

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa and the ruling Zanu PF have been served with court papers in a case where a member of the party’s youth league is challenging the constitutionality of his ascendancy to power following the 2017 coup.

Sybeth Musengezi filed papers at the High Court in October seeking an order declaring as illegal the November 19, 2017 Zanu PF central committee meeting that removed the late Robert Mugabe as party leader. After the meeting, Mugabe was forced to resign as the party leader and President and replaced by Mnangagwa.

In his court challenge, Musengezi argues that Mnangagwa’s ascendancy to power after the “kangaroo” special committee meeting violated the Zanu PF constitution, hence it was illegitimate.

Musengezi cited Zanu PF, Mnangagwa, secretary for administration Obert Mpofu, acting political commissar Patrick Chinamasa, former Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko and ex-finance secretary Ignatius Chombo as first to fifth respondents, respectively.“Copy of court application for a declarator in terms of section 14 of the High Court Act for the second respondent served on the responsible person Mr Ziyambi Ziyambi (Justice minister) at 0955 hours,” reads in part a signed note from the court sheriff after the delivery of the papers to Mnangagwa on Monday.

Musengezi, who is represented by his lawyer Nqobani Sithole, wants the High Court to declare the central committee meeting that confirmed Mnangagwa president “unlawful and null and void”.

He argued that Mugabe was not incapacitated to preside over a lawfully convened session of the central committee in terms of Article 7 section 38 of the party’s constitution.

Musengezi’s court challenge is seen as part of a wider power struggle between Mnangagwa and a faction loyal to his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga.

Mental Patient Torches Car Park

By A Correspondent- A suspected mental patient went berserk and allegedly stoned four cars at an overnight car park in Bulawayo’s Mpopoma suburb before torching two of them, reducing them to shells.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday at a car park situated at the intersection of Nketa Drive and Hyde Park in Mpopoma.

One of the burnt cars, a Mazda BT50 twin cab is valued at US$20 000 while the value of the other one, a Toyota Hilux twin cab could not be ascertained. However, the market price for a brand-new Toyota Hilux D-4D 2013 model is US$50 000.
The Toyota Hilux belongs to a non-governmental organisation (NGO) while the Mazda BT 50 is owned by an individual.

The owner of the Mazda BT50 who declined to be named was at the scene when the Chronicle crew arrived. He refused to comment. He said:
I can’t talk to you right now as you can see that I am not emotionally sound. Talk to the owner of the car park.
Sources said firefighters from the Bulawayo Fire and Ambulance Services department were called to the scene and quelled the fire, which had already extensively damaged the two cars.
The owner of the car park, Mr Sibangani Malunga said the incident occurred between 1 AM and 2 PM. He said:

The incident occurred between 1 AM and 2 AM and it appears a mentally ill man strayed into my premises while my two security guards were fast asleep. He damaged four cars before burning two other cars, one of which belongs to an NGO.
This is my only source of living and, therefore, with this unfortunate incident, some of my loyal clients are likely to ditch me. This has cost the owners of the cars a fortune and it is clear that this has affected them emotionally.
Police are now handling the matter, but on my side, I will also find ways of getting to the bottom of this mater.
Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said investigations were underway adding that no arrests have been made.

Chamisa Speaks On Zanu PF Violence

By A Correspondent- The MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa has said it will not retaliate against violence perpetrated against its supporters by Zanu PF activists during the opposition party’s rural voter mobilisation meetings.

Chamisa is on a countrywide tour of rural areas, where he is meeting community leaders as he solicits for support ahead of the 2023 elections.

During his visits to Mutare, Masvingo and Nyanga last month, his convoy was attacked.

The party also alleges that there was an attempt on his life in Mutare which saw his vehicle being shot at.

MDC Alliance secretary for rural mobilisation Happymore Chidziva yesterday told NewsDay that the opposition party would not retaliate physically.

Chidziva said the rural mobilisation exercise was meant to deal with fear of violence in the countryside during electoral periods.

“Our strategy is simple. We do not respond to violence with violence. The reason why Zanu PF is using violence is due to panic as we penetrate the rural areas once perceived to be its stronghold. Our response is more work in rural areas and we will stretch it because we have the energy, the time and the age,” Chidziva said.

After the attacks on Chamisa in Masvingo, Zanu PF acting political commissar Patrick Chinamasa said the violence was triggered when Chamisa tried to “impose’ himself on the people”.

Chidziva said Zanu PF had run out of ideas, hence it was resorting to violence.

He said people in rural areas were eager to meet Chamisa.

“The people are clear, the old, the women and the youth are all converging to support Chamisa. We are overwhelmed by calls from citizens in the rural areas who just want to see our president,” he said.

Zanu PF is also on mobilisation campaign of at least five million votes while the MDC Alliance is targeting six million votes.

Last week, the ruling Zanu PF party said it had already secured four million registered voters.

Zanu PF Stages Hichilema For Mnangagwa Propaganda Photo Session

By A Correspondent- Zanu PF has staged Zambia’s new President Haikainde Hichilema to have pictures with their party leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa, in Glasgow and use the same for propaganda.

Hichilema is the MDC-Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa’s ally, and Zanu PF has done this to portray as if Mnangagwa is closer to the new Zambian leader.

Before he became the President of Zambia, Presidential spokesperson George Charamba posted an image of HHand Chamisa labelling them sell-outs.

On Tuesday, Zanu PF information director Tafadzwa Mugwadi said Mnangagwa and HH were friends.

He tweeted:

Zim & Zambia share lots in common Our democratic dispensations need cool heads to steer the ship Noisymakers can make whistles in the graveyard like stray ghosts but they are too small to shake these fraternal relations. Sit down!! Good Evening Cdes

Kezi Man Loses R500 000 To Axe-Wielding Robbers

By A Correspondent-A man from Sizinda Village, Kezi, Matabeleland South, lost ZAR500 000 and over US$1 000 cash to axe-wielding robbers who invaded his home on the 31st of October this year.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) which is now investigating the case announced the development appealing to members of the public who might have information on the assailants. Pindula News presents the police statement.
The ZRP is investigating a robbery case that occurred on 31/10/21 at about 2300 hrs, at Sizinda Village, Kezi, where four unknown male adults who were armed with an axe, flick knife and knobkerrie pounced at the complainant’s house and demanded cash.
The complainant surrendered safe keys, cash amounting to ZAR 500 000 and US$1 100 to the suspects. Anyone with information to contact any Police Station.

Meanwhile, some said such huge amounts of cash must be kept at the banks where it is safer.
Some members of the public are, however, afraid that they might not be able to withdraw their money since the treasury can change policies as it did in 2019 when it declared that the U.S. dollar was now equivalent to the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) dollar

BREAKING: Yuda’s Car Vandalised By Suspected ZANU PF Assailants After Successful Anti-ED Demo

By A Correspondent | The heroic television whistleblower, Shepherd Yuda has suffered an attack in two of his cars just after a successful three day demonstration against Emmerson Mnangagwa that caused the ZANU PF leader to be banned from his famous Trades Hall Glasgow building celebration party.

Yuda had arrived at his home when a few minutes later after coming back to his parking lot he suddenly found his first car’s driver’s window smashed in by an unknown object.

Soon after that, he also found his second car pelted with eggs, though without visible damage.

Nothing was stolen.

Police were informed of the direct and unequivocal threats against his life by a ZANU PF activist who spoke via live video on Monday night.

Speaking to ZimEye, Yuda said the person(s) who did this were driven by revenge for the humiliation Mnangagwa suffered at the COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

Bossy Jamwanda Threatens Mnangagwa Critics

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday addressed an almost empty auditorium at the Climate Change (COP26) summit in Glasgow, Scotland.

Mnangagwa made his address before empty seats, as did all the leaders who delivered their addresses during the 9am to 1pm slot.

Over 120 heads of State and 25 000 delegates are attending the summit.

As Mnangagwa was addressing, scores of United Kingdom-based Zimbabweans were picketing outside the conference room, denouncing him over the country’s bad human rights record, while others extolled him for his re-engagement efforts in the face of
adversity.

Quite sad, embarrassing in fact!!!!”- NewsDay

Superman Ronaldo To The Rescue For Man United…Ole Gunner Survives Again

Isheanesu Mutyambizi | Manchester United provided a thrilling comeback well designed for Tuesday night football in the Champions League against Atlanta, as they fought hard to keep their hopes alive of progressing to the next stage of the European tournament with the score line 2-2 by full time.

The Red Devils who have been dubbed “The Comeback Kings” in the Champions League, have had to rely on the individual brilliance of Cristiano Ronaldo, who again scored a brace to save Manchester United from having to be in a tough position in Group F before they travel to Spain to face the Yellow Submarines of Villa Real, who are in good form after beating Young Boys 2-0 to move up to second.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer has praised his team for stepping up to the plate and not giving up and praised Ronaldo by comparing his performance to Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls who is considered the Greatest basketball player of all time, due to his reputation of always scoring the last shot that seals the game.

Though the jury is still out to decide if he deserves to be United manager for the foreseeable future, and his tactical decisions under scrutiny despite the comeback draw. Ole Gunner is determined to improve his side performances, as they will be facing  Manchester City on Saturday.

But just like a cat has nine lives, Ole Gunner is proving to be that sort of manager who always deliver results whenever his job is on the line, one doesn’t know what the Baby faced Assassin has under his sleeve.

President Chamisa Statement On UN Climate Change Conference

Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance leader President Nelson Chamisa has unveiled a comprehensive climate change policy.

This comes at a time the current regime is carrying out perilous coal-mining activities in Hwange.

Below is President Chamisa’s presentation on the COP26 Climate Change Conference.

COP26, the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC),kickstarts today 1 until 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

For Zimbabwe, this landmark conference could not have come at a more appropriate time. In recent years our beloved country has been ravaged by several catastrophes directly linked to climate change, including Cyclone Idai, which in 2019 claimed about lives in Zimbabwe.

At COP26,we expect serious & binding commitments by the world’s wealthiest countries towards reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Rich countries contribute the most to the precarious state of the world’s climate,as such, responsibility for the crises must fall where it must.

To reduce the frequency of extreme weather shocks like Cyclones, bold acceleration towards more sustainable methods of generating energy, manufacturing goods, transportation, urban development, & farming need to be taken by all countries. Net zero emissions by 2050 is the target

As the next government, our climate change policy is clear.Whilst the journey to net zero by 2050 appears daunting, it represents a unique opportunity for Zimbabwe to create new jobs in new industries like renewable energy, electric vehicles, smart farming and green manufacturing.

At a minimum, we expect significant contributions to investment funds (e.g., Green Climate Fund: https://greenclimate.fund), earmarked for less developed countries, like Zimbabwe to access the green finance required to build resilience and adapt to climate change…

Decade Of Action For Road Safety Programme Kicks Off

WHO is kicking off the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 today in Geneva, with the ambitious target of preventing at least 50% of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030. WHO and the UN regional commissions, in cooperation with other partners in the UN Road Safety Collaboration, have developed a Global Plan for the Decade of Action, which is released today.

Globally, over 3500 people die every day on the roads, which amounts to nearly 1.3 million preventable deaths and an estimated 50 million injuries each year – making it the leading killer of children and young people worldwide. As things stand, they are set to cause a further estimated 13 million deaths and 500 million injuries during the next decade, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. These unacceptable numbers, both in absolute and relative terms. Road traffic crashes have remained a major cause of death globally, even though every one of those deaths and injuries is preventable.

“The loss of lives and livelihoods, the disabilities caused, the grief and pain, and the financial costs caused by road traffic crashes add up to an intolerable toll on families, communities, societies and health systems,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, “So much of this suffering is preventable, by making roads and vehicles safer, and by promoting safe walking, cycling and greater use of public transport. The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety lays out the practical, evidence-based steps all countries and communities can take to save lives.”

Recognizing the importance of the problem and the need to act, governments from around the world declared unanimously – through UN General Assembly Resolution 74/299 – the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 with the explicit target to reduce road traffic deaths and injuries by at least 50% during that period.

“One of the best ways to save and improve lives is to make our streets safer — but that work often doesn’t get the attention it deserves,” said Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies and WHO Global Ambassador for Noncommunicable Diseases and Injuries. “Bloomberg Philanthropies has been working to improve road safety since 2007 by strengthening laws, increasing enforcement, redesigning streets, and using data. I’m glad to say that the WHO’s ambitious global plan for road safety includes many of the strategies that we’ve used to save lives, and it will help encourage governments around the world to make road safety the high priority it should be.”

This Global Plan describes the actions needed to achieve that target. This includes accelerated action to make walking, cycling and using public transport safe, as they are also healthier and greener modes of transport; to ensure safe roads, vehicles and behaviours; and to guarantee timely and effective emergency care. It is aimed to inspire countries, including governments and partners to act boldly and decisively, using the tools and knowledge gained from the last Decade of Action to change course.

“More than 50 million people have died on the world’s roads since the invention of the automobile. This is more than the number of deaths in World War One or some of the worst epidemics.” says Dr Etienne Krug, the Director of the Department of the Social Determinants of Health. “It is time to put in action what we know works and shift to a much safer and healthier mode of transport. This new plan will lead countries onto a more sustainable path.”

The Global Plan outlines recommended actions drawn from proven and effective interventions, as well as best practices for preventing road trauma. It should be used as a blueprint to inform and inspire national and local plans that are tailored to local contexts, available resources and capacity. The Global Plan is aimed not only at senior policy-makers, but also other stakeholders who can influence road safety, such as civil society, academia, the private sector and community and youth leaders.

Victory Is Certain- MDC Alliance

The MDC Alliance is confident of a resounding victory in the 2023 elections as the opposition party continues to carry out what it calls “an intensive voter registration campaign” across the country.

Party spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere told NewsDay that the MDC Alliance is targetting six million votes in the upcoming elections. She said:

The opposition party is going to win the 2023 elections, and it is going to do so resoundingly.

We are currently carrying out an intensive voter registration campaign in villages, towns and cities to ensure we galvanise six million citizens to vote for change.

We are mobilising the citizens to turn out to vote in their millions and defend that vote vigilantly.

We are building a polling agent defence system to ensure the vote is protected from rigging through a polling station-based mobilisation and monitoring programme.

We will run the biggest electoral campaign that’s never been seen in the region and ultimately win Zimbabwe for change.

This is why our new candidate selection procedures will give communities the power to decide which leaders will represent them.

Mahere was responding to President Emmerson Mnangagwa who last week declared a ZANU PF victory two years ahead of the general elections.

Mnangagwa told ZANU PF supporters at the just-ended annual conference in Bindura that he had already sealed the 2023 victory.

Zanu PF Stages Hichilema For Mnangagwa Propaganda Photo-Shoot

By A Correspondent- Zanu PF has staged Zambia’s new President Haikainde Hichilema to have pictures with their party leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa, in Glasgow and use the same for propaganda.

Hichilema is the MDC-Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa’s ally, and Zanu PF has done this to portray as if Mnangagwa is closer to the new Zambian leader.

Before he became the President of Zambia, Presidential spokesperson George Charamba posted an image of HHand Chamisa labelling them sell-outs.

On Tuesday, Zanu PF information director Tafadzwa Mugwadi said Mnangagwa and HH are friends.

He tweeted:

Zim & Zambia share lots in common Our democratic dispensations need cool heads to steer the ship Noisymakers can make whistles in the graveyard like stray ghosts but they are too small to shake these fraternal relations. Sit down!! Good Evening Cdes

Peace Body Confirms Chamisa Attacks

By A Correspondent- The National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) has acknowledged political violence perpetrated by the ruling Zanu PF party on the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa.

NPRC said it would not launch an inquiry on the matter as it has not yet received a formal complaint.

This was disclosed by NPRC deputy chairperson Lilian Chigwedere yesterday on the sidelines of the commission’s preventive dialogue meeting held in Harare.

Chigwedere’s utterances follow reports by Chamisa’s MDC Alliance that its leader survived an assassination attempt during his visit to Mutare last month, while his convoy was attacked in Masvingo and Nyanga where he had gone to conduct rural outreach programmes to garner support ahead of the 2023 elections.

Zanu PF acting spokesperson Mike Bimha has denied the alleged attacks, while acting party political commissar Patrick Chinamasa claimed that Chamisa was attacked because he provoked Zanu PF supporters by encroaching into their territory.

Chigwedere told NewsDay that the NPRC investigation team was on standby and could not immediately act on the matter without a complaint having been lodged with the

commission.

She, however, acknowledged that there were political conflicts between Zanu PF and the opposition MDC Alliance.

“With regards to elections, these discussions we are having here are meant to come up with different ways of dealing with election-related conflicts.  With regards to the clashes, that is a conflict that is already taking place. As a commission, the way we work is that we send our investigation team to find out what is exactly taking place.

“While we are doing this (discussions), we are in the process of getting a team. But our team usually goes to do investigations if there have been reports made to the commission. We just don’t say there is a conflict and rush to do investigations. No one has come to the commission with a complaint. We are just hearing it from the media, but as a commission, we are just putting our team on standby.”

She said there was need for the NPRC, together with peace committee members, to work towards curtailing recurrence of political violence in the country.

“Currently, there was an increasing shift in focus on the 2023 elections.  In order to guarantee non-recurrence of perennial election-related conflicts, the onus is on you to engage robustly and deliberately in preventive dialogues with all stakeholders, to ensure that re-emergence of past experiences are curtailed.

“The setting up of peace committees  to contribute towards the promotion of peace through dialogue, mediation and conciliation of disputes among communities, individuals and groups as well as the implementation of programmes deemed necessary for the prevention of conflicts all fall squarely with the constitutional mandate of the NPRC.”

Chigwedere urged government and citizens to work together to end political conflict.

Meanwhile, in a speech read on her behalf by her deputy director Kumbirayi Chimusoro at the NPRC event, Mashonaland East Provincail Affairs minister Aplonia Munzverengi raised concern over the recurrence of election violence in the country.

She urged the NPRC to facilitate grassroots dialogue to promote peaceful elections.

“As you are aware, the country is now  geared up for the election period and it is my hope that the peace committees will take the necessary preventative measures  to facilitate local level dialogue on how to deal with  the cyclical  electoral violence, uncertainties  and contestations usually associated with our county’s elections,” she said. Chamisa Holds The Sanctions Key- Party Officials

By A Correspondent- Opposition MDC Alliance says its President Nelson Chamisa has the key to unlocking relations which Zimbabwe has been sidelined from by the west over human rights abuses.

Ostalloz Siziba, the party’s deputy spokesperson, claimed that even the ruling Zanu PF was aware of that fact.

He told NewZimbabwe:
Ironically when Zanu-PF funds its people and thugs to carry placards and ask Nelson Chamisa to help them end Zimbabwe’s international isolation, they recognize his legitimacy and capacity to resolve these issues and they are very correct.
For the first time I have seen Zanu-PF articulating in their own protests a clear message, it acknowledges that Chamisa is the only one who can give them jobs, end international isolation, yes give him the responsibility to govern and he will have multilateral and bilateral conversations with the international community.

He said Zimbabwe is isolated from the international community because of violence and terror, corruption and extraction of economic-political order, legitimacy questions associated with the ZANU PF government led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
He said once the MDC Alliance comes to power, it will “make a clear program of re-engagement which is born out of the domestic resolution of our own problems so that we get to the community of nations.

Harare CSO Being Victimised For Exposing Graft

By A Correspondent| City of Harare Chief Security officer Collen Tongoona has come out guns blazing against the City Fathers he accuses of allegedly suppressing him from assuming a rotational position that has gone vacant at the entity.

This follows the role he played in investigating over 50 councillors whose cases are before the courts for illicit land deals where scores were duped of their hard earned money through a land allocation scam, he alleges.

A leaked document in possession of this publication exposes the ongoing impasse.
Tongoona believes that “The position of head Public Safety Division (PSD) fell vacant when the incumbent, Negion Moyo’s contract expired. The department is currently filling the position by way of acting appointments”.

He said that acting appointments at the entity are governed by Statutory Instrument 135 of 2012, Collective Bargaining Agreement: Harare Municipal Undertaking (General Conditions of Service.

“…in terms of clause 1 (1), the agreement shall be binding on the employer and employees from Grades 16 to 5 in the Harare Municipal Undertaking.”

He further states that clause 27 (4)(d) of the SI outlines limitations surrounding a person co-opted to the vacant post will operate:

“An employee who has been appointed to act in a higher position shall continue to act in such position for a continuous period of three months and any extension shall be for a maximum non-renewable period of six months.”

Clause 27 (4) (g) of the said SI also stipulates that, “ The rotation shall apply in instances where more than one employee of the same standing level, experience and qualifications exist and qualify to act to act in the higher position.”

Tongoona feels he is being overly treated unfairly as he is competent enough to assume the post on a rotational bases as provided for by the cited clauses.
In the letter he further explains that in the said Division there are two employees of the same level , experience and qualifications these two, that is himself and the Chief traffic officer who are all under grade 5 but this has not been followed.

He claims that the Chief traffic Officer Martin Chimombe was re-appointed against procedure sidelining him.

“However, instead of applying the rotation principle, the Acting Chamber secretary Warren Chiwawa went on to re-appoint the Chief Traffic Officer to act in the position of Head PSD, side-lining myself ayet we are of the same standing level, experience and qualifications. This is against the spirit of fairness or impartiality espoused by clause 27 (40(g).

“Chimombe is for some reason being favoured while I have become a victim for obvious reasons. I am being victimized for being the chief security Officer of the Harare Metropolitan Police (HMP) at a time the section exposed massive corruption in the disposal of land throughout the city of Harare leading to the arrest of more than 50 council officials including executives who occupied influential positions, and I am a signatory to all their internal investigation reports.

He further states that the victimisation also arises from that fact that he is a “key State witness for 10 officials with land scandal cases before the courts. This is the reason why I am being victimised and side-lined for the appointment to act in the position of Head PSD,” he said.

Tongoona claims that Chimombe was also appointed in that position so as to superintend over the department which was investigating him.

“Mr Chimombe has not wasted time in using the appointment to deal with potential witnesses with the able assistance of the the Acting Chamber Secretary Mr Warren Chiwawa. They have used their positions to cause an investigation against me and an unknown others from HMP which investigation is seeking to discredit the allegations against Mr Chimombe as detailed in the report dated April 17, 2020.,” he said.

Decade Of Action For Road Safety

WHO is kicking off the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 today in Geneva, with the ambitious target of preventing at least 50% of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030.

President Chamisa Unveils Climate Change Policy For New Zimbabwe As Mnangagwa Ravages Hwange

Watch : Citizens Peacefully Defeat Mnangagwa In Glasgow

Scores of disgruntled Zimbabweans successfully blocked Emmerson Mnangagwa from attending a Zanu PF gala in Glasgow, Scotland.

Mnangagwa was supposed to attend the gala on Tuesday.

According to authorities in that country Mnangagwa should be confined to the COP26 Climate Change Conference…

This means he cannot even purchase anything …

Zim Born Scottish Legislator Floors Nick Mangwana

Zimbabwean born Scottish legislator, Maggie Chapman, has said she was not endorsing the government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa when she wore Mnangagwa’s scarf recently. This comes after the circulation of her picture in which she was wearing the scarf with Zimbabwean colours.

The scarf is seen more as a ZANU PF regalia than a Zimbabwean one.

Zimbabwe’s Information Secretary, Nick Mangwana, also commented on the photo:Comrades and friends are still arriving in Scotland. Here they are seen with Scottish MP, Maggie Chapman, who made raves when she took her oath in Shona to show she still has links with Zimbabwe. Good to see her adorning the beautiful scarf.

Responding to an anonymous person, Maggie Chapman refuted claims by some that she was endorsing the Mnangagwa regime. She said:As I said to Mike: Thanks for your message and apologies for the photos.

They are in no way an endorsement of ZANU PF or the regime in Zimbabwe which I deplore. I bumped into some Shona speakers at the end of my street and had a conversation about Zimbabwe – as I always do with any Shona speakers. I am sorry I didn’t recognise them as individuals or the scarf.

They did recognise me, which is why it turns out they were so keen on the photos.

The endorsement would have been a boost to the Zimbabwean government which is pushing the engagement and re-engagement agenda after being isolated for over two decades.

ZLHR STATEMENT ON INTERNATIONAL DAY TO END IMPUNITY FOR CRIMES AGAINST JOURNALISTS

ON International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) calls upon the public to condemn impunity for crimes against journalists in Zimbabwe and the rest of the world.

ZLHR also calls upon the authorities to adopt reform measures to prevent attacks and violence against journalists, and to investigate all crimes against journalists and prosecute all perpetrators to promote justice and accountability.

The International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists is celebrated every year on 2 November. It is an opportunity for everyone to publicly condemn impunity for crimes against journalists and a chance to demand the prosecution of perpetrators of these crimes by governments around the world. The 2021 International Day to End
Impunity for Crimes against Journalists seeks to emphasise the instrumental role of prosecutorial services in investigating and prosecuting crimes and threats of violence against journalists.

Journalists play an instrumental role in the effective functioning of democratic governments. They promote access to information which enables citizens to demand and assert all their civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights. In sharing information,
journalists also enhance accountability as they empower people with information. They inform the general populace of the decisions and or actions or omissions of the executive and legislature.

All over the world, journalists and members of the media are vulnerable to attacks and violence, there is a disturbing trend of threats, killings, arrests of journalists, despite their vital importance in democracies. These attacks have a detrimental effect on the effective functioning of democracies, freedom of expression and access to information. Violence against journalists has a chilling effect on society and the journalists themselves. The heinous crimes against journalists are seldom investigated by the authorities and
many perpetrators of these crimes and attacks are rarely brought to justice.

In Zimbabwe, journalists have regrettably not been immune to some of these attacks. Journalists have been exposed to arbitrary detention, arrest and prosecution, assaults, harassment, abductions, confiscation of their tools of trade and other equipment and threats of unspecified action.

There has also been a disturbing culture of impunity for attacks and crimes against journalists which serves to embolden perpetrators and encourages them to continue with their evil acts.

Journalists have often been victimised for their work in ensuring that the authorities remain accountable to the public. ZLHR has provided legal support to several  journalists who have been targeted when carrying out their journalistic work. These include but is not limited
to Hopewell Chin’ono, Kumbirai Mafunda, Edgar Gweshe, Leopold Munhende, Thomas Madhuku, Nyashadzashe Ndoro, Robert Tapfumaneyi, Marshal Bwanya, Gaddaffi Wells, Adrian Matutu, Tongai Mwenje, Tinashe Muringai and Desmond Munemo among others.

ZLHR remains concerned that the authorities are failing to fully recognise that journalists play an invaluable role in exposing human rights violations, corruption and other illegal activities by state and non-state actors. Equally compelling is the failure by the prosecutorial authorities to take any appropriate action to hold all perpetrators of these illegal attacks accountable for their crimes.

On this International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, ZLHR reminds the authorities that ending impunity for crimes against journalists is essential for the protection of the rights to freedom of expression and access to information that enables the enjoyment of all other rights.

Further, ZLHR reminds the government of Zimbabwe to implement the recommendations made by the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (African Commission) on 7 August 2020 in the Resolution on the Human Rights Situation in the Republic of Zimbabwe – ACHPR/Res. 443 (LXVI) 2020.

The African Commission specifically called on the government to guarantee protection of the rights of amongst other players; journalists including from arbitrary arrest and detention.

Res.443 also calls on the government of Zimbabwe to ensure that measures taken by its law enforcement agents do not lead to violations of fundamental rights and freedoms, including expression, association and assembly.

On this International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, ZLHR calls upon:

•       The public to condemn all acts of impunity for crimes against journalists in Zimbabwe and the rest of the world;
•       The government of Zimbabwe to implement the recommendations made by the African Commission in Resolution 443.
•       The  authorities to adopt measures designed to prevent attacks and violence against journalists and other members of the media;
•       The authorities to investigate all crimes against journalists and prosecute all perpetrators in order to promote justice and accountability.

“Wearing ED’s Scarf Is Not Endorsement”: Zim Born Scottish MP Clears Air

Mnangagwa Banned From Entering Scottish Building | VIDEO

By A Correspondent, in Glasgow | There was drama when Zimbabweans arriving at Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Tuesday-scheduled-party venue received an announcement that the ZANU PF leader is no longer entering the building following a successful protest against his Scottish Galla.

ZimEye arrived at the Trades Hall Glasgow to see Zimbabweans screaming in celebration following the revelation with prominent ED-Swiss-Ban activist and Film Director Silvano’s Mudzvova saying, “Mnangagwa paTrades Hall, Galla remangwana haachakwanisa kunge achiuya, tazvimisa, tazvidira jecha, muno muUK!”

While efforts to get further confirmation from the building owner, a charity, were not possible, as they had walked out, scores of other Zimbabweans confirmed the development at the scene where ZimEye swiftly held a broadcast that continued for nearly 2 hours and was watched by tens of thousands around the world much to the delight of the masses who have endured 41 years of genocide as Mnangagwa announces his climate change policy which is that he deploys soldiers every time he discovers the public ‘are the ones who caused the drought(or stopped the rain).’ An estimated more than 30,000 people have been killed since 1983 as the new ZANU PF leader unleashes violence for over 4 decades.

Other concerns are over the destructive coal mining by a Chinese business in the Hwange National Park which has now spread towards Victoria Falls Road and since contributed to continuous fires burning from underground, turning the region into a literal hell on earth.

Zimbabweans held a combined protest with Sri Lankans at the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference against the dictators who run their two countries. More protests are due to continue today, Tuesday. VIDEO BELOW

Slay Queen on Khama Billiat Extortion Mission?

By A Correspondent| A Harare slay queen and former model Panashe Munetsi has come under fire for blackmailing and extorting money from high profile celebrities with rumour saying that she has hatched a plan to extort South African based Zimbabwean footballer, Khama Billiat.

The struggling 28-year-old lady is mother to a four-year-old son and has allegedly pinned the fatherhood of the child to more than three Harare man blackmailing them for money at the same time.

Munetsi who is currently residing in South Africa after border jumping with her kid is reportedly claiming that her son was sired by Billiat and this follows failure of her previous attempts on three other men.

A reliable source close to these developments told this publication that the former model is a pro in faking pregnancies and miscarriages as way of earning a meal ticket.

“Panashe’s modus operandi includes faking pregnancies and miscarriages, a strategy she uses to trap her ‘blessers’ so as to extort and blackmail them for money.

“Several men have fallen victims to her tricks including some rich high profile celebrities, “said the source.

Munetsi who is reported to have hit hard times in SA is alleged to be claiming that Billiat is the father of her son.

“We are exposing this to simply serve would be victims of her modus operandi, and we fully know that her plan is to go for Billiat whom she met some years back, we know she had since approached three other men claiming that they were fathers to her son.

“She however been developing cold feet each time those men would ask her to go for DNA as she is not really sure who the father of the kid is,” added the source.

Information obtained by this reporter also revealed that Munetsi approached one Sipho Dube and previously she blackmailed a certain Zambian but Zimbabwean based rich guy.

Efforts to get a comment from both Billiat and Munetsi were futile at time of publishing.

“Account For Missing Journalist”: MISA Tells Mozambican Gvt

Ibraimo Mbaruko

The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) has said Mozambique should account for the missing journalist Ibraimo Mbaruco who has been missing since April 2020. Pindula News presents MISA’s statement.

Statement on International Day to Ending Crimes of Impunity against Journalists.

As the world commemorates the International Day to Ending Crimes of Impunity against Journalists, MISA urges the authorities in Mozambique to account for the whereabouts of journalist Ibraimo Mbaruco.

Mbaruco has been missing since April 2020.

This is very worrying because of the chilling similarities of his unknown fate with that of Tanzanian journalist, Azory Gwanda, who disappeared in mysterious circumstances in November 2017.

The Tanzanian government only reported him as dead in 2019.

Gwanda was investigating a spate of high profile killings in the Rufiji area when he went missing.

It is, therefore, inexplicable, given the state machinery at the disposal of the Mozambican government, that a human being, let alone a journalist, can just vanish from the face of the earth, leaving his traumatised family in the dark as to what could have happened.

The seemingly lackadaisical, if not offhand manner, with which the Mozambican government is handling this serious matter, is disconcerting and raises unnecessary speculation and conspiracies on who was involved in Mbaruco’s disappearance.

Throughout the world, it is the State’s responsibility to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, including journalists.

Mbaruco’s last known message was that he was surrounded by soldiers.

His fate is not a matter that should easily be swept beneath the carpet but deserves the serious attention of the Mozambican government for the knowledge and peace of his family and colleagues.

Allowing the perpetrators to go unpunished will spawn and perpetuate a culture of impunity that poses great risk to the work of journalists whose profession is at the core of accountable governance, respect for fundamental human rights and socio-economic development.

Our concerns come at a time when the southern African region is experiencing unprecedented upsurges in media freedom violations in member countries previously envied as paragons of media freedom.

For instance, a South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) crew was allegedly held against their will and threatened by African National Congress (ANC) supporters in Buffelshoek, Bushuckridge in Mpumalanga on October 21, 2021.

The news crew had to be rescued by the police.

According to the SABC news website, the ANC supporters, numbering about 20, threatened to burn the broadcaster’s vehicle and take the crew’s equipment.

At least four community radio stations were vandalised, with equipment worth tens of thousands of United States dollars destroyed during protests in South Africa following the incarceration of that country’s former president Jacob Zuma.

The radio stations that fell victim to the protesters are Alex FM, in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, Mams Radio, In Mamelodi, northeast of Pretoria, West Side FM, in Kagiso, west of Johannesburg and Intokozo FM, in Durban.

In Malawi, a group of 10 Malawi police officers on January 22, 2021, allegedly assaulted an investigative journalist, Henry Mhango, while he was reporting on compliance with COVID-19 regulations.

Nine journalists were on September 30, 2021, arrested by members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police while at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) offices in Harare.

The journalists, Leopold Munhende, Thomas Madhuku, Nyashadzashe Ndoro, Robert Tapfumaneyi, Marshal Bwanya, Gaddaffi Wells, Adrian Matutu, Tongai Mwenje, and Tinashe Muringai, had gone to ZEC offices to cover a demonstration by members of the opposition MDC Alliance.

The journalists were taken to Harare Central Police Station before being released without charge, following the intervention of lawyer Chris Mhike.

MISA urges other SADC governments to take a leaf from the action of the Zambian Information and Broadcasting Services permanent secretary, Amos Malupenga, in his quest to safeguard media freedom and the rights of journalists.

Malupenga marched to the police headquarters in Lusaka on March 12, 2021, demanding that law enforcement agents do more to protect journalists who were facing increased attacks and harassment.

As highlighted by UNESCO, impunity for crimes against journalists damages societies by covering serious human rights abuses, corruption and crime.

We, therefore, urge authorities to investigate crimes committed against journalists on duty and prosecute the perpetrators, as this will send clear messages that society does not tolerate attacks against the media.

As has been pointed out, impunity damages whole societies by covering up serious human rights abuses, corruption, and crime.

The media is at the core of citizens’ right to free expression and accountable governance.

Veganism Gains Traction In Zim

By A Correspondent- Vegetarianism is gaining traction in Zimbabwe at a time the world celebrates World Vegan Day which comes every year on 1 November.

Veganism is a lifestyle that excludes all animal products and attempts to limit the exploitation of animals as much as possible.

According to local nutritionists and environmentalists, veganism is of immense benefit to humans and the natural environment.

Reported Anadolu Agency:

Tynos Muhalaphe, a Harare-based nutritionist told Anadolu Agency that vegans live longer, healthier lives and rarely contract diseases such as cancer and diabetes.

He said:

Vegans are the true practical example of what people should do when they want to lead healthier longer lives. They hardly contract diseases like cancer, diabetes and many others.

For Zimbabwean environmental experts like Doson Hamandishe, vegans are helping to save the environment.

Said Hamandishe:

They plant fruit trees for their fruits which is part of their diet, and this means trees are safe with vegans as they practice afforestation.

They also don’t eat meat or any animal products, meaning wildlife is safe in the hands of vegans, as they grow their own vegetables throughout the year.

As vegetarianism gains fame across Zimbabwe, vegan restaurants are emerging in major cities like Harare, Masvingo and Victoria Falls.

In Harare, there is the Chisipite vegan restaurant owned and run by Mikaela, who is vegan.

Business is booming for Mikaela, with many affluent clients coming to the restaurant and Harare’s high-profile residents eager to change their life around with a plant-based diet.

But for residents from the low-income suburbs of Harare, like 24-year-old Elina Chuma, nothing is fascinating about eating vegetables because she said vegetable-eating is a sign of poverty.

Said Chuma:

In my family, we rarely have meat, not because it’s by choice, but because we can’t afford it. Yet we also would love to eat meat every day if we could afford it.

… I battled high blood pressure as a teenager and after getting advice on diet from a close friend who is a vegan, I said let me give it a try and here I’m now with zero blood pressure.

Global Vegan celebrations are attributed to Louise Wallis, who proposed the idea in 1994 as Chairman of the Vegan Society in the UK and now Vegan Day is celebrated in different parts of the world to advocate veganism and its way of life.

MDC Alliance Vice Chairlady Suspended Over Suspected Zanu PF Dealings

Mdc Alliance Namibia District suspends Vice Chairlady Zanele Mutema with immediate effect pending investigations.

31 October 2021

Mdc Alliance Namibia District today suspended its Vice Chairlady in the Women’s Assembly Zanele Mutema with immediate effect following a long time of serious interrogation on the suspected underhand dealings with the few Zanupf sons and daughters in Windhoek.

The security and intelligence of the party made their follow up on the unscrupulous movements of the sellout resulting in her immediate suspension from the political behemoth. I would like to set the record clear that Zanele Mutema is no longer a member of our party district executive until her issue is finalised.

We need to make it very clear that Mdc Alliance Namibia will not tolerate any of its leaders to dine and wine with Zanupf Satanists. The two should exist as water and oil, our people are being arbitrarily arrested, tortured, maimed and their democratic rights are muzzled every now and then. It’s now time for the district to be tough on those who sacrifice the national democratic revolution for three pieces of silver. As social democrats, we allow her to join any party of her choice since it is her democratic right enshrined in the supreme law of the country. Our intelligence gathered concrete information that Zanele Mutema was seen today attending a caucus with the authors of human butchery.

Mdc Alliance Namibia remains resolutely committed to converge for complete change regardless of the desperate efforts by the regime to infiltrate the democratic project. We are aware that the corrupt regime has pressed the panic button after social democrats in Namibia who subscribe to the able leadership of President Advocate Nelson Chamisa managed to exhibit their extraordinary energy and enthusiasm to defeat the corrupt regime. The issue of this candidate of stomach politics shall be heard with in the stipulated time frame in the Mdc Alliance constitution.

In a nutshell, Mdc Alliance Namibia expresses its insatiable appetite to continue mobilising and recruiting membership for the change that delivers. We remain unshaken as a district, we encourage our members to desist from belly politics of plunder and self-enrichment. Only psychiatric patients can migrate from Zimbabwe and come to a foreign land to support a stinking regime that has dismally failed to put the economy on a sounder footing. We absolutely condemn this level moral and political rot in this Zanupf surrogate called Zanele Mutema.

“Votes Are Won By Ideas, Not Intimidation”: Tweeted USA. How Naive And Infuriatingly So Too

By Nomusa Garikai- ”We are very concerned about reports of rising political violence in multiple provinces,” the United States embassy in Harare said in a tweeted statement.

“As Zimbabwe prepares for the 2023 elections, we urge all parties to refrain from acts of violence. Votes are won by ideas, not intimidation.”

In the March 2008 vote, the nearest to free, fair and credible elections in Zimbabwe history, Morgan Tsvangirai garnered 73% of the votes, according to Mugabe’s Freudian slip. Mnangagwa and his Joint Operation Command Junta stepped in and stopped ZEC announcing the results. The Junta order a recount of 5 million votes that lasted six weeks. Tsvangirai’s 73% was whittled down to 47%, just enough to deny him victory and force a run-off.

The run-off was all about the Junta punishing the people for daring to reject Mugabe and Zanu PF in the March vote. The Junta launch “Operation Mavhotera papi!” (Operation Whom did you vote for!) using war veterans and Zanu PF youth militia to do the intimidation, beating and raping and personal from the Police, Army, CIO and Prison Service to do the heavy duty of abducting and killing.

“What was accomplished by the bullet cannot be undone by the ballot! thundered Robert Mugabe. And Operation Mavhotera papi went into overdrive!

Morgan Tsvangirai was finally forced to withdraw from the election race but only because he feared for his life.

Robert Mugabe went on to win the one-horse race by polling 84% of the votes; once again proving that wanton violence does “win” votes!

SADC and AU leaders refused to accept the 2008 election as a free, fair and credible process and would not recognise Mugabe and his Zanu PF party as the legitimate government. The regional body forced Mugabe to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement (GPA), agreeing to the implementation of a raft of democratic reforms.

The reforms, fully implemented, would have stripped away Zanu PF’s dictatorial powers and control over all the state institutions like Police, ZEC, etc. and restored the individual freedoms and rights including the right to free, fair and credible elections. The primary task of the GPA was to ensure the blatant cheating and wanton violence of 2008 will never ever be repeated.

A GNU was formed comprising Zanu PF and the two MDC factions with SADC as the guarantor of the GPA. Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends were entrusted the task of implement the reforms.

MDC leaders failed to implement even one reform in five years of the GNU. Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office and, to show their gratitude, they throw reforms onto the fire.

Sadc leaders tried to get the 2013 elections postponed until reforms were implemented. But they too gave up when it became clear that Tsvangirai and company had never submitted even one reform proposal in the five years!

MDC leaders have all but abandoned all hope of getting any reforms implemented before elections and have since been participating in flawed and illegal elections subject to all the usual Zanu PF vote rigging shenanigans of blatant cheating and wanton violence.

However, ever since the GNU Zanu PF has been very care to resort to the wanton violence only when it is necessary and to target it carefully. The only way Zanu PF has been able to rig elections and get away with it was by maintaining facade that Zimbabwe was a healthy multi-party democracy. And so the party has given away a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate regardless how flawed the election process got.

The wanton violence has been carefully targeted to ensure the voters, especially the rural voters, never ever forget Operation Mavhotera papi! The party thugs know opposition party leaders must not be harmed; the last thing Zanu PF wants is the opposition boycotting the elections, burning down the multi-party facade and with it Zanu PF legitimacy.

As long as Zanu PF retains its carte blanche powers to rig elections violence will rule the roost, you can forget your “Votes are won by ideas, not intimidation!” ideal!

What is infuriating about Zimbabwe is that whilst most people have been calling for reforms BEFORE elections it has been none other than the MDC and the rest of Zimbabwe’s opportunistic opposition politicians who are quite happy to have the elections with no reforms. It is even more infuriating when the Americans, the EU and other nations who know the MDC leaders are sells outs pretend not to notice.

FULL THREAD: Temba Mliswa’s Rant At Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono

1/I don’t need to be told anything about you. I know you and you know that. We were together in Slough in the UK with Supa and while some of us went for double shifts you never did. Why, because you made money fraudulently through credit card fraud.

2/ Your narrative of being a correspondent for BBC is a fallacy because you were there on attachment. You are not a Christiane @camanpour or some such international journalists as you sell yourself to be as justification for the life you have.

3/There was never anything special about your being a journalist as to have the kind of life you have. The reason is that you made money through credit card fraud and selling the country out to the West.

4/ Resultantly, you have protected yourself against criminal charges by bootlicking the West whilst attacking your own country. Your bitterness with the government is also about how you lost out on the promised ZBC CEO position.

5/ We were together in Operation Restore Legacy as you supported the new dispensation. You had been given assurances that you would take over at ZBC and had even struck some deals with foreign channels. However, that did not happen and you have become bitter.

6/That has been inspiration for you to get on the payroll of foreign powers so as to hit back at the government. That’s why you are quiet on issues to do with whites whilst you are constantly ranting against the country. It’s your insurance against criminal charges from the West.

7/The issue of payments for legislators is about dignity, integrity and credibility of the office. The office cannot be compromised in its role of oversight. It’s not about the personalities that are occupying it.

8/Your lack of appreciation or acceptance of people occupying offices does not entail that you also lack respect for the office itself.

9/My argument about equipping and capacitation of Legislators has nothing to do with self-enrichment. It’s about the importance of the office, and shielding it from being compromised.

“Charges Against Mako Were Fabricated By Overzealous Cops Out To Please Zanu PF”

The trial of five MDC Alliance youths accused of breaching Covid-19 regulations by holding a demonstration got underway before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi on Monday.

Makomborero Haruzivishe, 28, Allan Moyo, 23, Denford Ngadziore, 48, Stanley Manasi Manyenga, 38, and Cecillia Revai Chimbiri, 33, all entered not guilty pleas.

The prosecution alleges that the five gathered at their party headquarters, Morgan Tsvangirai House, for a meeting before the police dispersed them in February this year.

Their legal team of Obey Shava and Jeremiah Bamu said the charges against them were fabricated “by overzealous police officers whose law enforcement is solely aimed at pleasing the ruling Zanu PF regime.”

“They deny each and every material allegation levelled against them and put the State to the strict proof thereof. Accused persons will specifically deny having participated in an illegal gathering or illegal demonstration. They will also deny having held any placards as alleged or at all,” Bhamu told the court.

“They will further tell the court that the lack of particularity in the allegations inhibit them from saying anything further than they already have. It suffices to say that accused persons are law abiding citizens who at all times conduct themselves within the confines of the law and actively promote the realisation of their and other people’s rights.”

The trial began with the prosecution calling its first witness, Munyaradzi Silomonye from Cyber Laboratory who allegedly downloaded a video recording of the five persons while allegedly committing the offence.Silomonye said he downloaded the video that helped to identify the five.

The trial continues on November 5.The indictment by the National Prosecuting Authority says that the five activists joined scores of other MDC Alliance youths at Morgan Tsvangirai House at around 5.30PM on February 19.

The prosecution says there was to be a meeting of the MDC Alliance youth wing, Harare councillors, members of parliament and the provincial leadership.Prosecutors say the activists began chanting slogans and running along Nelson Mandela Avenue in the direction of Copacabana.

It is alleged that they later gathered at corner Angwa Street and Nelson Mandela Avenue whilst holding placards inscribed, ‘Respect Our Constitution,’ ‘ED Enda’ and ‘ED Must Go’. They also allegedly sang “hatichada kunyengerera” and “hatipihwe order nemasaskamu.’

Police allegedly dispersed the gathering, only for the group to gather again at Copacabana where they were scattered by teargas.

Prosecutors say some of the demonstrators, as they retreated, threw stones and other objects at the police action.

Police say video footage and photos captured during the incident and also circulated on social media showed the five MDC Alliance activists were part of the mob.

PICTURE- The Woman Who Took Everything From Tendai Ndoro

Thando Maseko

Former Warriors striker Tendai Ndoro has lost ‘everything’ after he was kicked out of his home and taken to the cleaners by his South African wife, Thando Maseko. The former Chicken Inn and Orlando Pirates forward is reported to have registered all his properties in his wife’s name.

Tendai Ndoro and wife

Following a massive fallout between the two, Maseko is said to have thrown Ndoro out of the couple’s home in the upscale Kyalami Estates in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is also reported to have taken full possession of all of the couple’s vehicles, as they were registered in her name.

The issue of Tendai Ndoro being taken to the cleaners by his South African wife was revealed to local weekly publication B-Metro by one of Ndoro’s confidantes. The source who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity said,

“It appears Ndoro’s property in South Africa is not registered in his name, so when things were not going well with his wife, he was kicked out of their Kyalami Estate home. The biggest mistake he made was not registering the house and cars in his name, and that will be his downfall.

“Ndoro’s family in Bulawayo are distraught about the situation because it can’t be easy to watch their son lose everything he worked hard for in South Africa and Saudi Arabia to his estranged wife.”

Ndoro has been making headlines of late after images leaked online in which the footballer appeared to have lost a lot of weight. The photos suggested that Ndoro may be struggling with his health. According to the online publication Soccer24, the footballer had been recuperating in the mining town of Shamva, in Zimbabwe’s Mashonaland Central province.

Following the circulation of the images and reports of Ndoro’s ill-health, some opined that the former Orlando Pirates striker is struggling.

This prompted South African businessman and former Mpumalanga Black Aces owner George Morfou to offer to help the footballer. George and his brother Mario were responsible for introducing the 36-year-old striker to the SA Premier Soccer League (PSL) when they signed him from Zimbabwean football club Chicken Inn in 2013.

However, last week, Ndoro denied reports that he was struggling financially. He also insisted that he was only in Zimbabwe briefly to visit his mother and that he would soon be returning to his family in South Africa.

“I don’t want to speak to the media. I’m in Bulawayo. I came back from South Africa to visit my mother. I’m actually in Bulawayo, and I will be going back to South Africa soon. My family is in South Africa, and why should I stay long in Zimbabwe,” claimed Ndoro.

On the other hand, the source insisted that Ndoro is struggling and had been given a cash bailout by his close football associates. The good Samaritans who came to Ndoro’s rescue include Aston Villa midfielder Marvellous Nakamba and Supersport midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi.

“Just last week, when the Warriors were in camp, several players that include Marvelous Nakamba and Kudakwashe Mahachi pampered Ndoro with cash. The players openly expressed their concern about Ndoro’s plight hence the gesture of giving him cash.”

Shock As Rapist Breaks Into Waiting Mother’s Shelter, Rapes Pregnant Teen

By A Correspondent- Communities have called for improved security at waiting mothers’ shelters following reports of the rap_ing of a teenager at Manama Mission Hospital and other women that were robbed at Matobo District Hospital waiting mothers’ shelter in Matabeleland South Province.

A nine months preg_nant teenager was rap_ed by an unknown suspect at Manama Mission Hospital waiting mothers’ shelter in June.

The culprit was armed with a knife and gained access into the shelter through an unlocked door at night. The expectant mothers fled the scene, but the suspect caught up with the teenager, whom he dragged to a bushy area where he assaulted and rap_ed her several times overnight.

The teenager sustained a broken arm during the attack.

At Matobo District Hospital, a suspect broke into the waiting mothers’ shelter and tried to rap_e one woman before robbing several women of their belongings.

There have also been reports of rap_e and robberies at waiting mothers’ shelters and maternity wards in the past.

A Chronicle news crew visited Manama Mission Hospital and spoke to some expectant mothers, who expressed concern at the absence of security at the shelter.

Ms Thandolwenkosi Ndlovu from Magaya Village said the rap_e incident has left her unsettled at the shelter.

“While I’m here at the waiting mothers’ shelter, I’m afraid that the culprit might strike again and attack us. I heard that someone invaded the shelter, chased the women who were there and went on to rap_e one of them. Maybe if the culprit had been arrested it could have been better, but the incident has shown that we are at risk as expectant mothers,” she said.

Ms Lydia Ncube said although there were now security guards at the shelter, they were not efficient.

“There are some security people who guard the shelter, but I don’t have faith in them because sometimes they arrive way after 10PM, which means that before that we will be exposed. They won’t be around during some nights as well. We once looked for the security guard when one of the ladies went into labour, but we couldn’t locate any,” Ms Ncube said.

Ms Tibelo Ngulube of Magaya Village said the rap_e incident was concerning to her and felt the safety of all female patients at the hospital was at stake, as the culprit could strike at any time due to lax security.

Ms Ngulube said as long as the culprit was still on the loose, the security of all women at the shelter and in the community remains highly compromised.

Makwati Village head Ms Adrina Moyo said her young sister is one of the women that managed to evade the rap_e attack.

“My young sister was at the waiting mothers’ shelter when the incident occurred. She said the rap_ist pushed open the door while they were sleeping and brandished a knife and threatened to stab them and they all fled from the room. He pursued them and from there my sister doesn’t know what happened. When they went back to the shelter, they noticed that one person was missing. Something needs to be done to ensure the safety of women because as it is, some people are afraid to sleep at the shelter,” she said.

Andrew Moyo, a neighbourhood watch committee member, said the suspected rap_ist is from a neighbouring ward and they had tried to track him down in vain.

Matabeleland South Provincial Medical Director, Dr Rudo Chikodzore, recently told a meeting that each district had been tasked to identify security gaps in each health facilities and propose how best they can be addressed.

“Some facilities need a perimeter fence to secure the waiting mothers’ shelter, some need locks and other security features. We have asked the District Medical Officers to meet with their teams and identify security gaps and suggest how they can be addressed,” she said.

During a recent visit to Manama Mission Hospital, Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care Dr John Mangwiro said there was a need for health facilities to improve their security as they were putting the lives of patients at risk.-statemedia

Man Who Advertised Selling Self Over Poverty Nabbed

Aliyu Idris

By A Correspondent- Islamic religious police in northern Nigeria arrested a man who put himself up for sale to escape biting poverty, a local official said on Wednesday.

Aliyu Idris, 26, was arrested on Tuesday by the morality police in Kano after pictures emerged on social media showing him holding a placard indicating he was up for auction at 20 million naira (US$49 000).

“We arrested him for putting himself up for sale, which is illegal under Islamic law,” said Lawal Ibrahim Fagge, a spokesman for the religious police called Hisbah.

“He is in our custody,” said Fagge, blaming the young man’s “abhorrent action” on poverty and ignorance.

Last week Idris, a tailor from neighbouring Kaduna, went around the city last week with the placard inscribed with the sale offer. Residents posted pictures of him online, turning him into a sensation.

The young man told reporters he was “selling” himself out of “excruciating poverty” and that he intended to give half the money to his parents and two million naira to anyone who could facilitate the auction. He had also promised to be a “loyal servant” to his buyer.

180 000 Zimbabweans Face Deportation SA Halts Visa Renewals

By A Correspondent-The South African Cabinet will soon announce a decision on the renewal of the Zimbabwe Exemption Permits (ZEP) for nearly 180 000 Zimbabweans based in the neighbouring country.
Zimbabweans have benefitted from special permits since 2010 when the Dispensation of Zimbabweans Project (DZP) was introduced.
DZP was aimed at regularising Zimbabweans residing in the neighbouring country to reduce pressure on the asylum management system.
The permits expired in 2014 before South Africa introduced the Zimbabwe Special Permit (ZSP) which lapsed at the end of 2017.

It was followed by the ZEP, which will expire on December 31.
Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to South Africa David Hamadziripi said Government has been engaged in high-level meetings with South Africa over the permit issue.
“The matter of the ZEP is part of the agenda of the discussions held between Zimbabwe and South Africa in the context of the Bi-National Commission (BNC). Concerning the extension of the permits, the Embassy has had discussions with the relevant authorities in South Africa since the first quarter of the year,” said Ambassador Hamadziripi.
“In May 2021, there was further discussion of the issue when the two countries’ Ministers of Foreign Affairs met in Cape Town. In all these interactions, the government of South Africa informed us that the decision on the renewal of the permits would be taken by their Cabinet and that processes towards that end were in motion.”
Zimbabwe Community in South Africa chairperson Mr Ngqabutho Mabhena said most Zimbabweans were anxious as the year is coming to an end.

“We are waiting for the South African government to make an announcement. We were informed that a decision will be made in November so we are waiting. We do not know what is going to happen, but, of course, people are worried about what is likely to be announced by the Minister of Home Affairs when he decides to make an announcement,” said Mr Mabhena.
He said financial institutions and some employers have started demanding that permit holders renew their permits.
“We have been engaging with both the Zimbabwean and South African governments and made submissions that holders of the ZEP should be granted permanent residence status because they have been resident here for more than 10 years and continue to contribute to the South African economy,” said Mr Mabhena.
“The second option is that if they are not granted permanent residence, they should be granted a long-term visa which is about 10 years or a normal renewal be an option.

Rare Flu Out-Break In Bulawayo

By A Correspondent- Health officials in Bulawayo have confirmed a flu outbreak in the city that has resulted in hundreds of children seeking medication, a development which experts say is a result of fluctuating weather conditions.

Bulawayo director of Health Services Dr Edwin Sibanda told Chronicle in an interview that the flu is a common viral infection that affects the nose, throat and airways.

The flu usually resolves within seven to 10 days but has COVID-19 like symptoms which put a lot of parents and guardians in panic mode.

Some children also vomit and lose appetite and parents are saying the symptoms cannot be cleared by over-the-counter medication.

Sibanda confirmed that the flu has affected a large number of children in Zimbabwe’s second-largest city but could not give the exact number of those who have been affected. He said:

There is an outbreak of the upper respiratory tract infection and it is affecting many children in Bulawayo but I do not have the exact numbers now. There were suspicious that the flu was in fact COVID-19.

Residents should take their children to health centres though under normal circumstances flu goes away without treatment. This flu due to weather changes has been spreading easily.

With the changes in weather, it is expected that these symptoms will increase. The prevention measures are the same as for COVID-19, it’s a matter of strengthening what we are doing for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the National Microbiology Reference Laboratory said influenza testing had been halted in Zimbabwe due to shortages of test kits. Chronicle

Police Declare War On Motorists

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched an operation targeting what they are calling errant and reckless motorists breaking road rules during peak hours.

ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said some of the these people will be driving parastatal and Government vehicles. He said:

There is an ongoing operation that has nabbed a number of motorists. They are being sent to court without an option of paying admission of guilt fines at police stations.
… We are disturbed by that behaviour and it’s now common in the Southerton area, Chiremba Road, Samora Machel Avenue, Arcturus Road and Seke Road in Harare.
…. We have arrested a number of motorists who drive against traffic in Government vehicles.
Some will be driving vehicles belonging to parastatals and we have since called some parastatals imploring them to reign in on their drivers.
That sets a bad example and we cannot have a Government vehicle being used to break the law.

Senior MDC T Officials Snub Mwonzora

MDC T vice presidents and national leaders snub Mwonzora in his poorly attended National consultative meetings

As Boaz aka Polite Musarurwa who is Mwonzora’s propagandist writes a detailed report on the factional fights in MDC T

1 November 2021

Wezhira Munya

Today, Boaz popularly known as Polite Musarurwa gives juice details on the factional battles in MDC T led by Mwonzora. For more details read: Boas article attached at the end of this article.

Most MDC T members of Parliament and councillors are making efforts to join MDC Alliance led by President Chamisa as #Ngaapinde hake mukomana gathers momentum#

Boaz has been assigned by Mwonzora to attack MDC T vice Presidents Khupe and Mudzuri.

Mudzuri and Khupe are fighting Mwonzora because he has failed to call for ordinary congress to elect new MDC T president and other leaders as per party constitution.

According to Boaz’s message that was posted on MDC T WhatsApp groups such as MDC 2014 structure: Khupe , Mudzuri , national members, members of Parliament and councillors are snubbing Mwonzora’s provincial tours.

Boas said, current poor attendence at MDC T provincial meetings being addressed by Mwonzora is caused by MDC T national leadership sabotage.

Mwonzora has been addressing few people and this has made him very angry.

Boas’ article titled Cash Talk have the following juice information :

Khupe and Mudzuri are ungrateful after being appointed by Mwonzora. Mwonzora won through rigging MDC T presidency at extraordinary congress. Khupe was beaten by Mwonzora thugs. Boas argued that, MDC T vice presidents must accompany Mwonzora wherever he goes as a way to repay Mwonzora after appointing them. In all provincial meetings addressed by Mwonzora, Khupe and Mudzuri never attended.

Boas said, “Vice President Khupe and Mudzuri think they came from heaven and they are ALWAYS FIGHTING THE PRESIDENT- Mwonzora

In addition, Boas further commented that , Khupe is negotiating with MDC Alliance to revive her political career. Boas assertions show deep rooted suspicions and scheming among MDC T top leaders . Boas urged Khupe to follow Mwonzora wherever he goes, like what she used to do during late President Tsvangirai.

Contacted for comment , MDC T founder member Mr Mashumba said,
“Mwonzora is unpopular and he became the president after rigged MDC T congress. How does he expect Dr Khupe to work with her after violently beating her.”

Also , another MDC T national member who refused to be named said, “Mudzuri does not like Mwonzora . Mwonzora cannot used appointment issue to force Mudzuri to attend useless provincial meetings.”

In addition, Boas holds that, Khupe , Mudzuri and Members of Parliament are enjoying cars and fuel coupons they get because of Mwonzora.

One MDC T member of Parliament said, “Mwonzora is mad. We won elections under MDC Alliance led by President Chamisa. President Chamisa’s popularity made us members of Parliament. Even Mwonzora benefitted from MDC Alliance after he was appointed senator by President Chamisa. It’s only that we joined MDC T led by Mwonzora because of fear of recalls. Surely you shall see all members of Parliament going to MDC Alliance led by President Chamisa.”

Most MDC T councilors and members of Parliament know that Mwonzora is unpopular as a result they snub his meetings.

Boas further explained that Mwonzora is using Honda fit or old red Mercedes Benz as he travels to provincial meetings. Mwonzora was using Vincent Tsvangirai’s car but Vincent is nolonger giving Mwonzora his car. Vincent’s car is experiencing many breakdowns due to poor service.

Boas also attacks National women assembly chairperson, national youth chairperson and national structures for snubbing Mwonzora provincial consultative meetings.

Most MDC T members are against consultative meetings where Mwonzora is seeking permission to postpone 2023 elections to form Government of National Unity with Zanu PF.

In Manicaland- Mutare yesterday , very people attended Mwonzora meeting in Beit hall. This show that Mwonzora who comes from Manicaland does not have support in his home area.

Mwonzora’s MDC T is regarded as Zanu PF proxy. MDC T meetings are cleared by police and Zanu PF thugs do not disrupt MDC T meetings.

Contrary, MDC Alliance meetings are disrupted by police and Zanu PF. In Masvingo, Manicaland and Mashonaland East MDC Alliance President Chamisa and his team were attacked, injured and their cars where damaged by bullets.

Mwonzora thugs violently disrupted MDC T vice president Khupe aid Mr Kudzanai Mashumba’s press conference where he wanted to inform the world how Mwonzora stole part funds, conflicts in MDC T presidium and other issues.

Below is BOAS article attacking MDC T vice presidents.

CASH TALK

MDC-T now needs faithful leaders who when they get positions either through appointments from the President or your name is submitted to ZEC to replace wayward Senators, Mps , Councillors.

Many of those who are now Senators Mps or Councillors are behaving the same way as those that were recalled . As soon as they take their positions their behavior changes to wickedness . If you are trusted with a position by the President it’s an error to behave as if it your own effort that made you become what you are now. The President is the door that made you become what you are … without him you are nothing.

Where is the National Youths Assembly Chairperson ?
Where is the National Women Assembly Chairperson?
Why are the National Structures leaving the President to move alone?
Where are the Vice Presidents…you forget you were appointed as VPs because the President trusted you as running mates.

Vice President Thokozani Khupe and Mudzuri think they came from heaven and they are ALWAYS FIGHTING THE PRESIDENT

As for Vice President Thokozani Khupe we know you will continue behaving like this until 2023. We now have a few people which you are using as bargain chips trading with Nelson Chamisa for him to rescue your evil political career

Go back to your first love , you used to follow the president where ever he is addressing rallies or meetings…..that time maybe you didn’t have the vehicles but you SACRIFICED and you were always with him .
As soon as you were appointed and you received vehicles to use ….you now snubbing the President leaving him go Province by Province alone

The President stays in HARARE province ..there are Mps, Senators , Councillors who are too busy to be involved in anything the President is doing…..to the extent that he he will no choice but hire vehicles or move in a Honda fit or the old red Mercedes Benz …or wait for someone to come from South Africa Province to drive the President.

During the days of President Morgan Tsvangirai you were all over around him some giving all your fuel coupons and your vehicles some donating cattle to the President .. The same grace that was upon PRESIDENT Morgan Tsvangirai is the same grace upon PRESIDENT Douglas Mwonzora…. But the way all councilors, Mps Senators Vps , Standing Committee members behave leaves a lot to be desired.

The President can’t address a meeting in your Province but you prefer not to attend. I was so touched with what Honourable Denga SACRIFICED to be there in his Province because the President was going to his Province not to attend a political meeting but a MEMORIAL SERVICE organised by church. Hon Denga was at his farm either Chinhoyi or Chivhu but he left his farm to be with the PRESIDENT.

Where are you hiding , if you are an Mp , Senator or Councillor…. Don’t expect the President to beg you . People on the ground in structures are watching.

You all know the President is supposed to move Province by Province consulting the electorate that gave MDC-T leaders the mandate to lead and seek NATIONAL DIALOGUE but you don’t bother knowing how he gets there or who is there and what is happening is non of your business. That’s unGodly to undermine your father

The problem is how you are behaving towards the President is how people will behave towards you even worse than that.

You are in opposition to monitor and give alternative ideas and solutions to what the government of the day is doing….. This is what people in structures are doing … they have alternative and better ways of how an Mp , Senator or Councillor must behave

The same goes to everyone in the standing committee , National Executive and National COUNCIL…..why are you only appearing at meetings only and not moving with the PRESIDENT…..that’s why your meetings take too many hours but few resolutions which you don’t implement because you prefer to isolate yourselves from what the President is doing.

To those who prefer to support the President openly and FAITHFULLY may God Increase your territory

Police Block SA DJs’ Harare Show

By A Correspondent- Police at the weekend blocked a group of South African DJs, Major League, from performing in Harare.

Major League was also dumped at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport by their plane after forcing it to break Zimbabwe’s aviation and COVID-19 protocols.

The group’s had a show in Bulawayo on Sunday after its gig in Harare on Saturday was stopped by the police.

Business Times reported eyewitnesses and aviation sources at the Joshua Nkomo Airport as saying the Major League entourage had insisted on flying back to Harare at 10 PM after a gig in Bulawayo.

However, the pilot advised the crew of Zimbabwe’s strict aviation and COVID-19 lockdown regulations and prevailing weather conditions as reasons not to proceed with the flight.

Socialite Tazvi Mhaka who is part of the Major League entourage reportedly tried to convince the charter pilot to fly against the stipulated aviation regulations but to no avail. Said a source:

It was a scene at the airport in Bulawayo and the Major League entourage which also included Mike Chimombe who is the President of Affirmative Action Group was looking at flying back to Harare during the night against the country’s COVID-19 regulations as well as the prevailing unpredictable weather.

So the pilot refused to fly at that time which forced the entourage to try and entice the pilot with some money which was rejected in full view of airport staff and some passengers.

The pilot and the aviation firm, who could not be named for professional reasons, reportedly terminated the flight.

Douhan A Hired Sanitizer Of Dictators’ Soiled Reputation

PRESS STATEMENT.

28 October 2021

“The hard Talk with “ZCEO President” Paddington Japa Japa.!!!!”

THE SO CALLED UN SPECIAL RAPPORTTEUR, PROFESSOR ELENA DOUHAN, A HIRED SANITISER OF SOILED IMAGES AND REPUTATIONS OF FAILING GLOBAL DICTATOR REGIMES, ZCEO PRESIDENT JAPA JAPA SAYS!!!!

She came, met and, saw only Civic Society Organisations and insignificant small Political Parties that are Pro Mnangagwa,s Zanu Pf November 2017 Coup Government. She never bothered to Invite the Main Opposition Political Party in Zimbabwe, Chamisa,s MDCA,why,??? only her and her host Zimbabwean Government knows the reason why.Her name is Nutty Professor Elena Douhan a Volunteer on Sanctions busting reports, masquarading as a United Nations Official, yet she is not employed by the UN.Douhan works as a lone volunteer who is not even employed by the United Nations. She makes a living from being paid by her host Tyranic Regimes, that hire her to Sanitize their soiled reputations and images. She is usually hired by Leaders of Countries lead by Dictators and Tyrants, who are usually under International Trade or Targeted Sanctions. Her work is to make some biased stage managed Investigations into the effects of Sanctions imposed on targeted individuals,Leaders of oppressive regimes or selected Companies. The work of this hired Gold Digger who is a Mercenary who makes a living out of producing fake anti Sanctions reports, as a rescue package for sinking evil regimes, has been heavily exposed by her biased approach to her work plan.

if Elena Douhan was a true represantative of the real United Nations that we all know, she should have first met the oppressed and persecuted MDCA President Advocate Nelson Chamisa and his Party members who nearly lost their lives four weeks ago in Masvingo- Charumbira rural area, Manicaland and Mash west in similar circumstances.Zanu Pf regime knew very well that Douhan was coming to assess the impact of Sanctions and its effect on the lives of millions of Zimbabweans.Whilst Douhan was landing at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe international Airport,at the same time the Zanu Pf Regime was heavily engaged in continuing with their barbaric,Savage, bandit and thuggish attacks on Chamisa and his MDCA entourage team around rural Zimbabwe, how come.??? Zanu Pf knew that an Investigator to the issue of Human rights was already in Zimbabwe why then unashamedly displaying those heinous Acts of banditry savage and barbaric attacks on the main Opposition Political Party in Zimbabwe. In her biased report which she presented yesterday after the main news on ZBCTV at 8.59 pm Douhan never mentioned anything about the continued unprovoked attacks on MDCA entourage teams by state funded organised thugs from Zanu Pf, including the latest one in Mash West.

if Douhan was a true and genuine UN official employed by UN and not a self appointed volunteer, she could have mentioned and condemned the state sponsored, violent incidencies caused by Zanu Pf thugs on MDCA Party and its leader Nelson Chamisa.Douhan chose to turn a blind eye on the evil things that Mnangagwa,s regime is doing on MDCA and its leadership. There can never be a real UN Official who is under the Global Peace Making Organisation who can come into our country were violence is taking place to the extend of attempted murder of an Official Opposition President and still sees no evil, hear no evil. Why have you decided not to take note of that, oooh nutty professor never there is something wrong here Madam.Douhan is a hired Agent of Dictator and tyranical Governments seeking sanitisation of their soiled reputations and images. This woman has a track record of defending Dictators in the world, she did it in Saudi Arabia,Venezuela,Syria,Qatar,Iran and now in Zimbabwe. The real United Nation must not even pay any attention to her unbalanced report whose best place is the dust bin, nobody must lend an ear to her shallow nonsensical work.

She is a danger to the oppressed people around the whole world, as her biased reports help cover up the human rights abuse issues perpetrated by Dictators and Tyrants.

By choosing not to meet Chamisa,s MDCA Douhan heavily exposed herself that she was on a specific mission, to sanitize and spruce up the soiled image of Zanu Pf leadership.Shame on your Mafioso Elena Douhan you thought, Zimbabweans can easily be taken for a ride and are so foolish to your level.Your wicked and evil intensions have been heavily exposed by the way you conduct your business, no one shall ever again take your findings seriously never ever.No oppressed People around the whole world shall ever accept your biased reports, you are a masquerade,Gold Digger who makes a living out of working for oppressive Dictators and Regimes.Your work is to,spruce up the images and soiled reputations of oppressors over the oppressed. If you do not change your way of doing business next time you shall be met with violent demonstrations in other Countries were ever you shall set foot.

A genuine UN Official engages with all Political Parties in countries under Political conflicts,Civic Society Organisations,Individuals,Government officials, all Church denominations,Civic Society Organisations etc,etc and not a few selected ones.

I personally do not approve of the way Douhan conducts her work, why doing such very important work alone and not as a Group, that work needs at least a Group of five to ten professional people, who are not biased who cannot be manipulated by a system. The Work needs balance and checks and interrogation of the outcomes and recommendations before coming to a final conclusion. Not the stage managed fake and biased one sided junk from that Mercenary called Elena Douhan the report must find its way into the dust bin.Never come back to Zimbabwe again Nutty Professor Elena Douhan because you are biased and not serious.

Boxer Succumbs To Injuries Sustained During Bout

A professional non-title bout for an-up-and-coming pugilist, Taurai Zimunya, ended fatally after the young boxer later succumbed to head injuries sustained in a bantamweight contest.

News of his passing on hit the local boxing community on the social media portal, Boxing Business Contacts, early this morning. The exact cause of his demise could not immediately be ascertained.

But following the ring brawl which had to be called off, he was ferried to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals on oxygen support.

Reports say scans were done at Westend Clinic and Wilkins Hospital to help the doctors ascertain the source of his injuries, but efforts to save his life were in vain as he later lost his life in the early hours of this morning.

Zimunya was fighting Tinashe Majoni of the Charles Manyuchi Boxing Academy in one of 10 other matches making up the “Rise of Champions” bill hosted by Otto Boxing Club at Body Active Gym in Borrowdale, Harare, yesterday.

This was the second time Zimunya was fighting the same opponent, the first having been two years ago when they took part in a fundraising event at HICC hosted by former Energy Minister Fortune Chasi. Majoni walked away the winner.

For one whose short boxing career was one of nomadism, Zimunya – whose pro debut was two years ago when he fought Bongani Makovora – had a stint with the Zimbabwe National Army boxing club.

His next port of call was the Legends Club of Mbare under the tutelege of Nyaude and in preparation of yesterday’s duel, he was working with coach Tarisai Ponde.

Zimbabwe Boxing and Wrestling Control Board general secretary Lawrence Zimbudzana described the fatality as “unfortunate and isolated.”

He said his office would soon issue a complete statement when a full medical report has been provided by the medical practitioners who attended to the departed boxer.

“We are with his family and club in our prayers. What’s more painful is that the potential of such a young talent has been nipped in he bud,” he lamented.

He said despite all protocols associated with the healthy hosting of a tournament having been fulfilled boxing had still been left a loser.

Requirements by the Boxing and Wrestling Control Act demand that there be a ringside doctor and an ambulance on standby at every professional boxing event.

This is the first time in Zimbabwe that a boxer has had to part with their life in the execution of duty inside a boxing ring.

The “Rise of Champions” boxing extravaganza was the first time since July that boxing was making a return following relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions and, the tragedy aside, it has been hailed as a total success.

Enock Musambudzi beat Lazarus Sithole by TKO in the super-middleweight division contest while Freeman Mabvongwe also made short work of another Sithole (Clever) also via the same verdict.

Hassan “Starboy” Milanzi was the better fighter in a duel against Shumba Boxing Club’s Given Daure and Evans Husavihwevhu of CMBA also posted a win.

Manyuchi Boxing Academy therefore had the biggest victories haul, with all its boxers posting wins in their respective outings.

MDC Alliance Poised For Victory In 2023

MDC Alliance Suspends “Zanu PF Implant”

Election Rights Lobby Grouping Condenms Malaba’s Zanu PF Appearance

By A Correspondent- Chief Justice Malaba last week made an appearance at Zanu PF’s annual conference in Bindura.

Below is the statement by Zimbabwe Election Advocacy Trust:

“We are shocked to note that Chief Justice Luke Malaba is part of the delegation at a ZANU PF conference currently underway in Bindura. His involvement in partisan political activities jeopardizes electoral processes and render the whole Judiciary system biased thereby denting it’s Integrity.

Furthermore, his conduct has bastardized the maxim and principle of separation of powers.

Section 165 sub section 4d of the Constitution prohibits members of the judiciary from attending political meetings.

This is a gross violation of the Constitution by a person who is entrusted as a doyen and custodian of the law. We, therefore, call for his immediate resignation and a quick return to order and sanity in the Judiciary system. ZEAT…. fostering democratic elections!

Police Block SA DJs From Rocking Harare

By A Correspondent- Police at the weekend blocked a group of South African DJs from performing in Harare.

The group, Major League, was also dumped at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport by their plane after forcing it to break Zimbabwe’s aviation and COVID-19 protocols.

The pilot flew back to Robert Mugabe International Airport leaving the entourage stranded at the Joshua Nkomo Airport.

When contacted for comment by Business Times, Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo airports manager Passmore Dhewa said he was not at the airport since it was a Sunday. He said:

Who is the pilot and I was not at the airport it’s a Sunday but I heard that the pilot flew back to Harare.

Chimombe did not respond to messages sent to him through text and WhatsApp, Business Times reported.

Top Zim Footballer Turns Destitute in SA

By A Correspondent- Former Chicken Inn striker Tendai Ndoro was reportedly kicked out of his affluent home in Kyalami Estates in Johannesburg, South Africa, by his South African wife.

Kyalami Estates is a secure residential estate with 24-hour controlled access, recreational parks, a dam, tennis, basketball, netball and squash courts, outdoor gyms, a soccer field among other amenities.

B-Metro reported sources as saying Ndoro had a fallout with his South African wife, Thando Maseko, who kicked him out of their home and took possession of their cars. Said a source:

It appears Ndoro’s property in South Africa is not registered in his name so when things were not going well with his wife, he was kicked out of their Kyalami Estate home.

The biggest mistake he made was not registering the house and cars in his name and that will be his downfall.

Ndoro’s family in Bulawayo are distraught about the situation because it can’t be easy to watch their son lose everything he worked hard for in South Africa and Saudi Arabia to his estranged wife.

At one point Ndoro clashed with his wife which resulted in his arrest and having to spend several days in jail over domestic violence allegations.

The former Orlando Pirates striker allegedly choked Maseko and threw a TV at her during a fight that apparently stemmed from a fake marriage certificate.

The fake certificate reportedly states that Ndoro and Maseko were married on 20 September 2017, when in fact, their wedding was in December 2017.

Last week Ndoro denied reports that he was broke. This was after pictures of the frail-looking player who was in Shamva surfaced on social media. He said:

I don’t want to speak to the media. I’m in Bulawayo. I came back from South Africa to visit my mother.

I’m actually in Bulawayo and I will be going back to South Africa soon. My family is in South Africa and why should I stay long in Zimbabwe.

Reports suggest that Ndoro is broke and that he was recently given a cash injection by his close football associates Marvelous Nakamba and Kudakwshe Mahachi, among others.

Zim Man Dies In SA Police Shoot-Out

By A Correspondent- South African police have shot dead a 34-year-old Zimbabwean man in the Erasmia area in South Africa.

The deceased, whose identity has not yet been revealed, is reported to have been part of a gang of suspects, aged between 26 and 51 years, who were caught red-handed by the police cutting steel pipes at a plot in Mooiplas.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate spokesperson (IPID), Grace Langa said the matter was now under investigation. She said:
We are investigating a case of death as a result of police action and our team have already attended the crime scene.
It is alleged that two on-duty police officers reacted to a complaint about some suspects who were cutting steel pipes at the plot in Mooiplas.
Upon arrival, they found the complainant who then pointed out the suspects.

She said the four suspects were apprehended but more suspects, driving an Isuzu pick-up truck, arrived at the scene and were also identified as being part of the crew by the complainant.
Langa said the two policemen stopped the car and ordered all the passengers to disembark and lie on the ground. She added:
They all went down except one suspect who is a 34-year-old Zimbabwean national. He walked towards the back of their bakkie (pick-up truck) and pulled a firearm.
He was spotted by one of the policemen who immediately pulled out his service pistol and shot him (the suspect Zimbabwean national) on the head.

She said while the two police officers were busy checking on the man who had been shot, his accomplices got into the vehicle and fled from the scene.
Paramedics, she added, were contacted and certified the man dead on the scene.
