The Citizens’ Coalition for Change has condemned the escalation of political violence, particularly the egregious attacks against its members as the country approaches the 26 March by-election.
Zanu PF thugs attacked CCC members at President Nelson Chamisa’s rally in Kwekwe leading to the death of Mboneni Ncube.
Several party supporters were badly injured.CCC young supporter, Charity Nyome was among those injured. She was hospitalized after the barbaric attack.
Charity, whose brother Kudakwashe Nyome, fled the country after being persecuted by the Zanu PF regime said the incident has left her in shock.
“I am in a state of shock. Zanu PF hooligans terrorized my brother Kudakwashe Nyome, until he left the country as they were threatening to kill him. Kuda cannot return home because of fear of being eliminated by Zanu PF.
I witnessed the worst form of barbarism in Kwekwe. I was badly injured and I am currently receiving treatment after being hospitalized,” said Charity Nyome.
In a statement Thursday, CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said violence against their members must stop.
Below is the statement: In the early hours of this morning, four men armed with machetes and a gun stormed the home of Hon. Tendai Biti who is our by-election candidate for Harare East constituency. Hon Biti was not present at the property at the time of the attack. However, his elderly mother, family visitors and members of his campaign team were home. The armed men beat up Hon Biti’s guard in the head and limbs. He suffered extensive injuries that required medical attention which he is now receiving at a local hospital. This is not the first attack on Hon. Biti’s campaign team. On the 27th of January 2022, Erasmus Nyandoro, Zellers Gumbo, Tatenda Chigwada and Prince Mutebuka were beaten by armed riot police in the centre of town because they were wearing yellow CCC shirts. Furthermore, on 16 February 2022, after a campaign meeting Tafara, armed Zanu PF thugs violently attacked three members of Hon. Biti’s campaign team and they sustained deep injuries on their legs and backs. They were beaten using iron bars. Again, on the 19th of February, Obvious Nyahondo, was attacked by Zanu PF thugs at the Tafara venue of a rally that was to be addressed by Hon. Tendai Biti. The attackers took his property including his phone and he sustained deep cuts to his legs and back. Although police reports have been made in respect of these incidents, the perpetrators are yet to be brought to book This morning’s attack on Hon. Biti’s home comes barely four days after Zanu PF thugs murdered Mboneni Ncube at a CCC rally in Mbizo Kwekwe. He was attacked with a spear three times in his back. We are advised that 11 of the 16 suspects in this gruesome murder have since been released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police. Many of our supporters were injured and 23 were .

The Citizens Coalition for Change said the men seriously injured the security guard who had to receive urgent medical attention in a tweet.

On Sunday, a CCC supporter, Mbonisi Ncube, was murdered in a spear attack by suspected ZANU PF activists during a rally at Mbizo 4 Shopping Centre in Kwekwe.
A MUTARE man, Joel Mutasa yesterday appeared before magistrate Langton Kata facing charges of choking and murdering his wife and then raping her dead body before hanging her in an attempt to conceal the murder.
Mutasa was remanded in custody to March 15 and told to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Talent Nyamuzuwe told the court that the accused needs to be examined in terms of the Mental Health Act.
“We are going to examine his mental health because he was not constant about what he was saying in court,” Nyamuzuwe said.
Allegations were that on the fateful day, Mutasa strangled Brylian Ngare.
He reportedly raped her once, before hanging her from a roof truss.

By A Correspondent- Habitual church thief and ex-convict, Violet Jaure, was back in court yesterday facing theft charges.
Jaure pleaded guilty when she appeared before Harare provincial magistrate, Meenal Narootam, who sentenced her to 10 months in prison.
Three months were suspended on condition she doesn’t commit a similar offence, in the next five years.
She was ordered to perform community service for the remaining months. The State proved that on February 27, Jaure went to AFM Marlborough, and sat behind the complainant, Loretta Chido Gora.
She stole her bag, which contained a Samsung S8 phone, bible, notebook, soap and US$46.
When Gora realised her bag was missing, she advised other congregants.
Tatenda Manyawu, one of the congregants, decided to track the phone and found out the phone was at United Methodist Church, at the corner of Lomagundi and Marlborough Drive.
Manyawu teamed up with security personnel and went to the church where they found Jaure sitting in a taxi.
She attempted to flee, but was apprehended.-Hmetro
Dynamos have registered their new Ghanaian signing Martin Ofori ahead of their trip to Bulawayo for Matchday 6.
The attacking midfielder was signed during the January transfer window along with six other players, but was yet to be cleared to play due work permit issues.
He has since received his work permit and will be available for selection against Bulawayo Chiefs on Saturday.

By- The leader of the other MDC-T faction, Thokozani Khupe is reportedly planning to work with the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party led by Nelson Chamisa in future elections after her acrimonious departure from the Douglas Mwonzora led MDC-T.
Khupe recently said she we tell members and supporters of her party who to vote for in the 26 March elections at the right time.
Addressing a press conference at the Bulawayo Media Centre on Wednesday, Khupe said she decided against participating in the upcoming elections to avoid splitting the opposition vote. She said:
The needless fragmentation of the opposition has not only deflated hopes and punctured national confidence but it has also slowly led to people staying away from national processes and losing faith in elections.
It is in this spirit that I’m urging the nation to rally together and to encourage each other to be active participants in national processes, especially in the ongoing voter registration blitz.
Unity amongst opposition political parties is of paramount importance, as it will result in the formation of a formidable force to confront ZANU PF.
The formidable force must start to speak with one voice, they must start to act with one voice and they must start to vote with one voice.
It is high time as opposition parties we converge and mobilise citizens and together unite for a common course and that common course being a new Zimbabwe.
We need to unapologetically preach the gospel of unity, in bars, in churches, in the villages and in the urban areas where we stay.
Let us remind each other that future generations will not forgive us if we allow next year’s chance to slip away.
It is a glorious chance that comes to us ordinary people once every five years and we must make the most of it.
Khupe and Chamisa worked as co-vice presidents to the late former MDC president Morgan Tsvangirai between 2016 and 2018 but their relationship was an uneasy one.
Their relationship broke down after Tsvangirai’s death in February 2018 as they fought over the control of the opposition party.
Meanwhile, CITE reported sources as saying Khupe is most likely to make an appearance at the CCC rally this Saturday to be held at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.
Two Ukrainian footballers have been killed while fighting against Russian invaders, global footballers’ union FIFPRO has confirmed.
Vitalii Sapylo (21) and Dmytro Martynenko (25) lost their lives in combat and are believed to be the first football casualties of the eight-day war.
Sapylo was a goalkeeper with third-division side Karpaty Lviv’s youth team, while Martynenko last played for second-division side FC Hostomel. A statement from FIFPRO on Twitter read:
Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and teammates of young Ukrainian footballers Vitalii Sapylo (21) and Dmytro Martynenko (25), football’s first reported losses in this war.
May they both rest in peace.
FIFPRO general secretary Jonas Baer-Hoffman told BBC Radio 5Live that they do not information about the exact number of footballers who are actively involved in the fighting. Baer-Hoffman said:
We’ve had confirmation from the ground, which is of course incredibly sad.
We don’t have clear information on how many of our members are really currently involved directly in the conflict, and of course, there are still hundreds of Ukrainian players, male and female, in the country.
Our union on the ground is effectively working out of bunkers and cellars where they are hiding from the attacks, so it’s a very difficult situation to analyse.
These two players have apparently passed away, as part of this military invasion.
They’re showing how football and sports, in general, is an afterthought because they’re just individuals who unfortunately got caught up in this terrible war.
Sapilo’s father Roman confirmed the death of his son at the frontline to BILD, a German publication. He said:
He was such a happy, fun-loving boy. It was an airstrike by that damn Putin. He took my child from me.
He really wanted to fight. The first tank broke down, then the second, but under no circumstances did he want to leave the front.
He asked for a third party. This armour has brought him eternal sleep.

Warriors midfielder Marshall Munetsi has become the first national team player to react to the ban imposed on Zimbabwean football by FIFA.
The world governing body suspended Zimbabwe from international competitions citing government interference in the running of the game.
Munetsi admits that the sanction will greatly affect the game.
“The ban on our national teams from international football and our local teams from international cup competitions is quite sad, football has since evolved into a sport thats more than just a sport, many livelihoods now depend on it, its a source of hope during tough times,” he wrote on microblogging site Twitter.
“Football is a uniting table where people with differences can sit together and feast at the spectacle we call the beautiful game.Its has been 2 years without any meaningful development on the local football scene due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a result of that.

Mines and Mining Development Minister, Winston Chitando, Thursday failed to defend the grabbing of gold mining claims in Mberengwa district, Midlands province.
Chitando stands accused of grabbing gold claims owned by businessman Yakub Ibrahim Mohamed’s firm, Anesu Gold, and transferring them to Gold Reef Mining, where he was a shareholder.
In the High Court application, Mohamed claimed that Anesu Gold is the registered owner of the claims which are also referred to as Mangoro claims (Ipanema).
Chitando’s lawyer Lovemore Madhuku failed to produce an opposing affidavit to deny the allegations when he appeared before High Court judge Justice Rogers Manyangadze.
The other respondent, Golden Reef, was represented by Welshman Ncube.
Ncube argued that Anesu Gold had failed to establish a locus standi in its founding affidavit. Ncube submitted:
It is respectfully submitted that applicant, having been previously challenged on its locus standi, in previous cases between the parties, particularly case numbers HC7497/20 and HC33/21, had an obligation to plead its locus standi in the founding affidavit by explaining how it has the locus standi to vindicate rights which on the face of it belonged to a company known as Start Mining Services.
Mohamed argued in his application that the mining claims were previously registered in the name of Start Mining Services (Pvt) Limited, but at the material time, they were owned by and/or registered in his company name.
He said in 2018, invoices were sent to Start Mining Services to pay mining fees for the mining claim, but it failed, leading to forfeiture.
But Gold Reef argued that Mohamed and Anesu Gold had no legal right to bring the case before the courts, adding that there was nothing illegal about Chitando being a director of Golden Reef Mining- NewsDay Zimbabwe
By- MDC-T President Daglous Mwonzora’s An MDC-T legal advisor Tapera Sengweni, has made a Constitutional Court application to stop the 26 March by-elections arguing that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) failed to hold elections within the timeframe prescribed by the laws of the country.
In his founding affidavit, Tapera cited President Emmerson Mnangagwa and ZEC as the first and second respondents respectively. Tapera argues that Mnangagwa failed to proclaim dates for the by-elections within the time frame set by the constitution, therefore, the proclamations he made on 24 December 2021 and 27 January 2022 should be declared null and void. He further asserts that Zimbabwe cannot afford to hold by-elections this month and should wait for general elections that are due in 2023. Part of the application reads: As a small economy, Zimbabwe has financial challenges that are affecting the greater majority of its population. The government is struggling to pay its employees a living wage. It is not prudent to drag the country into another plebiscite whose outcome does not change the numerical configuration of parliament in any way. At present, the purpose of the Zimbabwe parliament is to enact national law. There is no ” individual” value of a member of parliament at all. Any law made by parliament will affect every Zimbabwean equally. It does not matter for example that the Member of Parliament for Mkoba is out of Parliament. Parliament can still produce quality law led by debate from a Member of Parliament of say, Umguza constituency. It is my view that this mini general election proclaimed by the 1st Respondent is too expensive for Zimbabwe and needless. They are out of time anyway.
Zimbabwe is set to hold by-elections on 26 March, with 28 National Assembly and 121 council seats to be contested. Most of the seats fell vacant after the MDC-T led by Douglas Mwonzora recalled elected MDC Alliance representatives for supporting a faction led by Nelson Chamisa.

The National Peace and Reconciliation Commission, the Human Rights Commission, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission and the Zimbabwe Republic Police must urgently investigate these statements and the series of violent attacks against CCC and ensure there is accountability for the perpetrators. An electoral process soaked in the blood of innocent citizens is not the sort of electoral process the citizens of Zimbabwe deserve.

In a letter, seen by Pindula News, the local authority’s Acting Clerk said they had received a letter from the Minister of Local Government and Public Works, July Moyo, notifying them that Maiko had been expelled from the party.

Biden announced the extension of the sanctions in a statement released by the White House this Thursday.
Below is the statement:
On March 6, 2003, by Executive Order 13288, the President declared a national emergency and blocked the property of certain persons, pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701-1706), to deal with the unusual and extraordinary threat to the foreign policy of the United States constituted by the actions and policies of certain members of the Government of Zimbabwe and other persons to undermine Zimbabwe’s democratic processes or institutions.
These actions and policies had contributed to the deliberate breakdown in the rule of law in Zimbabwe, to politically motivated violence and intimidation in that country, and to political and economic instability in the southern African region.
On November 22, 2005, the President issued Executive Order 13391 to take additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13288 by ordering the blocking of the property of additional persons undermining democratic processes or institutions in Zimbabwe.
On July 25, 2008, the President issued Executive Order 13469, which expanded the scope of the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13288 and authorized the blocking of the property of additional persons undermining democratic processes or institutions in Zimbabwe.
The actions and policies of certain members of the Government of Zimbabwe and other persons to undermine Zimbabwe’s democratic processes or institutions continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the foreign policy of the United States.
For this reason, the national emergency declared on March 6, 2003, and the measures adopted on that date, on November 22, 2005, and on July 25, 2008, to deal with that emergency, must continue in effect beyond March 6, 2022.
Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13288.
This notice shall be published in the Federal Register and transmitted to the Congress.
Warriors midfielder Marshall Munetsi has become the first national team player to react to the ban imposed on Zimbabwean football by FIFA.
The world governing body suspended Zimbabwe from international competitions citing government interference in the running of the game.
Munetsi admits that the sanction will greatly affect the game.
“The ban on our national teams from international football and our local teams from international cup competitions is quite sad, football has since evolved into a sport thats more than just a sport, many livelihoods now depend on it, its a source of hope during tough times,” he wrote on microblogging site Twitter.
“Football is a uniting table where people with differences can sit together and feast at the spectacle we call the beautiful game.Its has been 2 years without any meaningful development on the local football scene due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a result of that.
“Our beautiful nation gets struck by a ban on international football, our football stands to lose quite a lot for many years as a result,I pray the parties involved can get to a resolution quickly so that we can get back to playing international football soon. Introduction
When the disciples returned from the Mount of Olives, right after Jesus had ascended to heaven, they were filled with joy and triumph. Their Master and Friend had ascended to a position of power over the world and had invited them to approach God in His name with the absolute confidence that God would respond favorably to their prayers (John 14:13, 14). Even though they continued in the world, attacked by the forces of evil, their hope was strong. They knew that Jesus had ascended to prepare a place for them (John 14:1-3). They knew that Jesus was the Captain of their salvation and that He had opened a way into the heavenly homeland through His blood. The ascension of Jesus to heaven is central to the theology of Hebrews. It marks the beginning of Jesus’ rule and the beginning of His High Priestly ministry in our behalf. And more important, Jesus’ ascension marks the moment that the new covenant, which provides the means through which we can approach God boldly through faith, has been inaugurated. It is our privilege now to approach God with confidence through Jesus and the merits of His righteousness.
SABBATH: From Mount Olives, He [Jesus] mounted in triumph to His throne in heaven. All heaven was waiting for this hour of triumph. He was gone from the earth. His voice of wisdom would be silent & His seat at the table would be empty for the disciples. Yet, they were filled with joy. Christ gained power over the world & man could boldly talk to God (John 14:1-3, 13, 14). The new covenant also began.
SUNDAY: The timeline of Christ’s death, ascension, & priestly work matched the celebration of the 3 feasts allotted to all males in Israel (Heb. 9:23, 24). 1. Passover; how God saved Israel from Egypt (John 19:14). 2. Pentecost; pointed to the barely harvest & in the NT to the giving of the law in Sinai (Acts 1, 2). 3. MONDAY: God’s plan is to draw all men to Himself. He saved Israel from Egypt & invited them to taste His grace. First, they were to purge themselves to see God’s glory. The disobedient would die (Exod. 19:3, 4, 10-15, 19:13, 24:9-11, Deut. 5:5, 24, 25-27; Exod. 20:18-21). God wanted Israel to “fear” Him & also show them His mercy (Deut. 4:10, Ps. 111:10, Prov. 9:10, 10:27, Exod. 34:4-8). Israel lacked faith (Deut. 9:19).
TUESDAY: Sin can lead a person astray. When the sinner return he’d be unfit to come to the presence of God. A means was needed for him to come close to God. A veil was needed to draw men to God & not be consumed by His glory. 3 veils were used in the sanctuary (Exod. 38:18, 36:37, 26:31-35, 33:3, 7, 12-20, Lev. 16:1, 2, 10:1-3, Num. 1:51, 53, 3:10). Christ also became our veil (John 1:14–18).
WEDNESDAY: The new covenant is the “new & living way” Jesus has given us through His sacrifice. As “captain”, He bid us to imitate Him. Christ forgave us & put His law in our hearts (Heb. 10:19-22, 2:10; 6:19, 20; 12:2, 8:13). The covenant was a way God wanted to cling to “accused” men (Heb. 9:18-21, Exod. 40, 19:4-6, Lev. 8, 9, Heb. 5:1–10, 7:1-8:13, Zech. 3, Job 1, 2, Rev. 12:7–12; John 12:31, 16:11).
THURSDAY: The condescension and ascension of Christ is a fact. But in faith, we go to Mount Zion; heavenly Jerusalem. Thus, with Christ as our High Priest, we taste God’s goodness & approach Him in confidence. After meeting God, Moses had to wear a veil to prevent the radiant of God on his face from frightening the people. MASVINGO – Three members of a gang of six suspected robbers arrested in Masvingo after a shootout with Police yesterday have been identified as members of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) and the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) respectively.
“One is a Policeman and two are serving members of the Army,” said a reliable source in an interview with The Mirror today.
There were eight gang members engaged by CID yesterday, two escaped and six were apprehended when their getaway vehicle was involved in an accident during a high speed chase. The occupations of the other three arrested gang members are not yet clear.
The development comes at a time when there is concern on the rising number of armed robberies involving members of the Army and Police.
ZNA deputy spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Alex Zuva referred questions to National Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
Nyathi said he was busy when contacted for a comment.
“I am busy preparing something for the minister. Call me after 30 minutes,” said Nyathi.
Efforts to get hold of him were futile after a 30-minute period lapsed.

The by election phobia hits Mwonzora and MDC T hard. Mwonzora’s strategists held a meeting few weeks ago and bold told Mwonzora and MDC T leaders that, they will lose 26th by elections. This was revealed by one MDC T national member who refused to be named.
Mwonzora has launched a constitutional application to bar by elections slated for 26th March 2022.

The strategist told Mwonzora the following:
Zimbabweans are angry against him and MDC T after recalls. Therefore they will not vote for him and his candidates.
Mwonzora and MDC T ‘s relations with Zanu PF have made him Zanu PF proxy and therefore Zimbabweans hate MDC T.
The help from police , army and security forces in stealing Harvest House and party properties from Advocate Nelson Chamisa has made Mwonzora unpopular. No opposition in Zimbabwe has enjoyed security forces support like Mwonzora and MDC T.
The rational disputation approach between Mwonzora and Zanu PF has not been accepted by Zimbabweans. Therefore , Zimbabweans are angry that Mwonzora is dining and wining with Zanu PF.
MDC T under Mwonzora failed to field 33 candidates in council and member of Parliament seats. This shows that MDC T has already lost 26 March 2022 by elections.
Imposition and chaotic MDC T primary elections will cost them on 26th March 2022 by elections. MDC T has poor quality candidates for 26th March 2022 by elections.
There are no vibrant MDC T structures across Zimbabwe. Only Harare and few towns have skeleton structures.
The split by Khupe negatively affects MDC T led by Mwonzora.
The largest crowds President Chamisa is attracting has caused MDC T and Zanu PF to fear defeat. On the other hand, Mwonzora’s highest number at rally is 300.
Mwonzora and MDC T’s failure to hold ordinary congress on 5th March 2022 has affected the moral of their members.
Komichi and Mudzuri factions feel neglected by Mwonzora. There is lot of disgruntlement among Komichi and Mudzuri factions against leadership of Mwonzora. They cannot say it publicly they fear explusion.
Some MDC T members of Parliament and councillors have lost faith in MDC T. There is likely hood that , they will join Citizens Coalition for Change soon. Mwonzora’s lack of popularity has affected his members of Parliament and councillors.
To mitigate the effects of election defeat, the Mwonzora and his MDC T has assigned Tapera Sengweni who is MDC T legal advisor and Personal assistant to Mwonzora to approach constitutional court to stop by elections.
As a result, MDC-T has sponsored constitutional court application seeking to stop holding of 28 National Assembly and 121 municipal by-elections.
By elections were delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Will the courts give judgment in favour of Mwonzora? Is Zanu PF involved in this court case after realizing that President Chamisa’s popularity is raising?
Mwonzora once sponsored the Gokwe man who contested the presidency of President Chamisa. Mwonzora anticipates a heavy defeat. One political analyst said, “Mwonzora can win court cases but will never win “public court” , referring to winning of elections. His rally attendance proof that people have rejected Mwonzora.

The unstoppable cyclone Chamisa hits Bulawayo. Thousands of Citizens Coalition for Change supporters are expected to fill White City stadium.
There is high level of excitement among Bulawayo residents as they prepare to welcome the charismatic and popular Advocate Nelson Chamisa.
Bulawayo rally is the 4th star rally to be addressed the the Champion Commander Nelson Chamisa. The first rally was at Zimbabwe grounds were strong 60 000 Hararians congregated. The police mounted road blocks to stop the Citizens Coalition for Change supporters but the determined and unstoppable party supporters defied police road blocks and attended the star rally.
The second rally, was in Gokwe , where 25 000 Citizens Coalition for Change supporters resisted the police who used teargas, vicious police dogs, water canons and baton sticks. In show of courage, President Chamisa entered into Gokwe war zone and addressed his supporters whilst standing on top of the car.
The fearless, Citizens later invaded Kwekwe, where Mnangagwa comes from. This was President Chamisa’s third rally. Zanu PF unleashed its Green bombers and Al Shabbai thugs to kill and injure Citizens Coalition for Change supporters.
Mr Ncube , Citizens Coalition for Change supporter was brutally killed by Zanu PF members. The Zanu PF members used a spear to kill him. 16 other Citizens Coalition for Change supporters were injured severely. However, the police arrested 16 people and found that 16 had Zanu PF cards. In Kwekwe, President Chamisa addressed 45 000 yellow supporters.
The Bulawayo is a strong base for President Chamisa. Will White City stadium have the capacity to accommodate the Citizens Coalition for Change supporters? A bumper yellow crowd is expected on Saturday 5th March in Bulawayo.
Many analysts project 65 000 Bulawayo rally attendence.
Few weeks ago, Mwonzora had a star rally in Bulawayo and addressed 84 people in Phelandaba Hall. This hall accommodates 100 people maximum.
Then the following werkend Mwonzora addressed 94 people in Marondera. Mwonzora had his star rally in Marondera urban ward 1.
MDC T led by Mwonzora resorted to hold its star rallies in halls after partly 300 people attended his star rally in Harare at Zororo grounds.
MDC T became a laughing stock after holding hall rallies. To deal with a tag hall party MDC T will hold their Peace rally at Zimbabwe grounds on Sunday 13th March 2022.
Will MDC T led by Mwonzora pull more than 300 supporters they had at their star rally at Zororo grounds?
The Peace Rally was confirmed by Fungai Chiposi, MDC T Harare Provincial Secretary for Information and Publicity.
Interestingly, MDC T wants to hold a Peace Rally after Citizens Coalition for Change supporters were killed, injured and imprisoned. When MDC T youth members beat Mashumba and Dr Khupe at extraordinary congress, MDC T did not hold peace rally. But why? MDC T under Mwonzora has gain a tag of violence.
In order to draw many supporters to this Peace Rally, MDC T led by Mwonzora has approached Zanu PF to assist them with Zupco buses and money. This was confirmed by one MDC T national member who refused to be named. During MDC T extraordinary congress, Zanu PF gave MDC T Zupco buses and money.
The poorly attended Zororo grounds star rally by Mwonzora was financed to a tune of 1.5million.
Zanu PF will help MDC T to mobilise people to attend 13th March 2022 rally in order to create a narrative that MDC T has support and is the official opposition party in Zimbabwe. Zanu PF helped MDC T to recall President Chamisa’s mps and councillors, took Harvest House, political funds , party name , party symbols and everything.
Zanu PF failed to steal supporters from President Chamisa.

By A Correspondent- Mpilo Central Hospital, in partnership with Celebration Health, will this weekend conduct free hernia repair surgeries.
A hernia happens when an internal organ pushes through a weak spot in a muscle or tissue.
Most hernias occur within the abdominal cavity area, between the chest and the hips.
Mpilo Hospital spokesperson, Ozias Ndlovu confirmed the programme yesterday without giving details.
“Patient screening will be conducted at the hospital from 8am to 5pm on Sunday. Children should be above one year and have groin, scrotal or umbilical hernia and should bring any relevant medical records,” the post read.
“Surgeries will be conducted from Monday, March 7 to Friday, March 11.”
Cleveland Clinic statistics show that about 75 to 80% of hernias are inguinal or femoral, 2% are incisional or ventral, 3 to 10% are umbilical, affecting 10 to 20% of new born babies.
Adults may get a umbilical hernia by straining the abdominal area, being overweight, having a long heavy cough or after giving birth.
Symptoms of hernia include swelling or bulge in the groin or scrotum (the pouch that contains the testicles), increased pain at the site of the bulge, pain while lifting, increase in the bulge size over time, a dull aching sensation or a sense of feeling full or signs of bowel obstruction.
The most common forms of hernia include inguinal, femoral, umbilical, hiatal (hiatus).

By A Correspondent- A Mutare man, Joel Mutasa yesterday appeared before magistrate Langton Kata facing charges of choking and murdering his wife and then raping her dead body before hanging her in an attempt to conceal the murder.
Mutasa was remanded in custody to March 15 and told to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Talent Nyamuzuwe told the court that the accused needs to be examined in terms of the Mental Health Act.
“We are going to examine his mental health because he was not constant about what he was saying in court,” Nyamuzuwe said.
Allegations were that on the fateful day, Mutasa strangled Brylian Ngare.

By A Correspondent- Six members of a suspected eight-member gang of robbers were nabbed by Police after a shoot-out and high-speed chase in Masvingo yesterday afternoon.
Police Spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the story to The Mirror this morning. He however, said that he did not have a lot of details as he was out of office.
Sources told The Mirror that suspected robbers stole gold from some miners in Mashava yesterday and an alarm was raised. Police from CID in Masvingo were tipped that the suspects were driving towards Masvingo in a silver Toyota Wish.
Police spotted the car as it entered the city at the junction of Bulawayo – Masvingo Highway and Harare – Masvingo Highway. The vehicle was trailed into the CBD and ordered to stop at the Corner of Robert Mugabe and Josiah Tongogara near Chicken Slice but the suspects sped off. Police fired shots into the air near Chicken Inn but the suspects did not stop.
The vehicle sped off and turned back towards Harare Road and was involved in a collision with a haulage truck near Gokomere Mission.
Six of the suspects were nabbed at the scene while two managed to escape. Those arrested are in Police custody. -Masvingo Mirror
By A Correspondent- A 35 year old man from Ngozi mine squatter in Bulawayo died, while his friend was hospitalised after they ate ‘poisoned’ snacks they picked from a dumpsite.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.
He identified the deceased as Absolom Ncube. Senzo Ndebele (34) survived and was hospitalised at Mpilo hospital and discharged.
“On the fateful day (February 28), Ncube and his friend Ndebele were scavenging for food at Ngozi mine dump site when they picked a packet of Hello potato chips. After eating the two started complaining of severe stomach. Ncube collapsed and died on the sport after having difficulties in breathing,’’ said Ncube.
Ncube urged members of the public to be wary of poisonous stuff and make sure that their disposal is safe.

By A Correspondent- Former Prosecutor General (PG) Kumbirai Hodzi was reportedly forced to resign by officials from the President and Cabinet (OPC) and senior officials from the Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs for alleged incompetence and corruption.
A local publication reported official and security sources as saying Hodzi had been under pressure since December last year when a dossier, accusing him of corruption and incompetence, was submitted to the OPC and Justice ministry
The dossier contained information obtained from members of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the Judicial Service Commission and lawyers.
As a result, Hodzi reportedly experienced serious mental health issues before suffering two major strokes last week.
The OPC announced on Tuesday that Hodzi resigned with immediate effect due to ill health but did not give details.
Sources told New Zimbabwe that Hodzi was being tormented by senior officials from the Ministry of Justice and had stopped coming to work in the second week of February. Said a source:
What actually happened is that sometime in December, a dossier highly critical of his performance as PG was submitted to the OPC and he has been under great pressure since then.
This document was produced anonymously from information gathered from the NPA officials and the legal fraternity. Even judges and magistrates are said to have contributed.
There were also allegations of corruption against him and the OPC has been on his case since then.
The main issue was that of incompetence and questions regarding his fitness for office.
So it really took a toll on his mental and physical health, to the extent that he could at times be seen talking to himself at work, which led to rumours within the corridors that he had lost his mind throughout this period.
It got really worse towards the end of January and, by the second week, he could not come to work.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa appointed Hodzi PG in 2019 even though he was not among the top three performers during public interviews conducted by the JSC as was required by the law.
Hodzi’s incompetence was to be exposed later, with High Court Justice Tawanda Chitapi telling him “to go back to the law school” after he blundered in a bail appeal in a high-profile robbery case.
By A Correspondent- The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has recommended a tribunal to determine whether High Court judge Justice Edith Mushore should continue as a judicial office after failing to report for duty for nine months.
Since June last year, the JSC has unsuccessfully tried to contact the judge to hear her story and her whereabouts are still unknown.
Secretary for Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Mrs Virginia Mabiza confirmed the development, saying the recommendations have since been forwarded to President Mnangagwa, who will set the tribunal.
The recommendations, Mrs Mabiza said, were done in terms of Section 187 (1) and (3) of the supreme law of the country to ascertain if the judge is still mentally and physically fit to continue working.
A tribunal will also investigate and establish whether there is evidence of gross incompetence and misconduct on the judge’s part.
The JSC has recommended to the President that the question of her suitability to remain in office be referred to a Tribunal. We await further instructions from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC).
The referral is in terms of s187 (1) and s187 (3) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, said Mrs Mabiza. Section 187 of the Constitution provides that a judge may be removed from office only for inability to perform the functions of his or her office, due to mental or physical incapacity, gross incompetence or gross misconduct.
In terms of the law, once the commission recommends a Tribunal, the President is obliged to facilitate and appoint the tribunal.
Justice Mushore last reported for duty on June 14 last year and is yet to give a formal explanation.
Judges cannot be absent from work for more than three days without official leave and if unwell they are asked to send in a doctor’s report so they are granted sick leave.
Efforts by her superiors in the judiciary to get an explanation from Justice Mushore, and invitations for her to send her driver with a doctor’s report, have been in vain and no one from the JSC has been able to gain admittance to her home.
The Judge President of the High Court has since allocated Justice Mushore’s cases to other judges to ensure the litigants get justice within reasonable time.
Justice Mushore is attached to the family law court at the High Court.
When asked initially for an explanation she indicated she was unwell, but she has not sent a sick note. Three separate letters were written by her superiors at the High Court asking her to at least send a driver with the doctor’s note, but without success.
The head of the High Court’s family law division, her immediate superior, in June last year wrote Justice Mushore a letter asking her to explain her absence from work.
A month later, the Judge President of the High Court wrote again to Justice Mushore reminding her that her absence from work without official explanation amounts to misconduct.
She was even asked to send her driver with the sick note but to no avail.
On August 12 last year, the Judge President informed Chief Justice Luke Malaba of the development and he then sought an explanation from Justice Mushore in writing, but up to now she has not responded.

By- Six members of a suspected eight-member armed robbers gang were arrested on Tuesday afternoon following an intense exchange of gunfire with Masvingo police detectives.
The six were arrested near Gokomere Mission along the Masvingo-Harare highway where they were involved in a road traffic accident as they fled from police fire.
They were allegedly part of an eight-man gang that had stolen gold ore in Mashava before fleeing with their loot.
The other two suspects who got away are still unaccounted for and police are looking for them. Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhehwa confirmed the incident. The gang of eight allegedly went to Mashava on Tuesday morning where they stole gold ore from some artisanal miners. Masvingo police detectives were alerted that the suspects were driving towards Masvingo City in a Silver Toyota Wish vehicle. The car was spotted at the junction of Bulawayo road and Masvingo-Harare highway as they entered the city.
The vehicle was followed by detectives into the CBD and was ordered to stop but sped off. Police fired warning shots into the air but the suspects did not stop. They drove along the Harare-Masvingo road with police detectives in hot pursuit. Lucky ran out for six members of the gang after their vehicle collided head-on with a haulage truck moving towards Masvingo City. Two of the suspects fled while the remainder were nabbed by detectives and are in custody awaiting appearance in court.
By- The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has condemned the violence that took place at a Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) rally held in Kwekwe on Sunday.
The violence resulted in the death of one person.

ZLHR CONDEMNS ACTS OF VIOLENCE IN KWEKWE
ZIMBABWE Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) strongly condemns the acts of violence that took place at a Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) rally on 27 February 2022.
ZLHR urges everyone to shun political violence and all forms of intolerance towards members of different political parties.
ZLHR also calls upon Zimbabwean authorities to urgently investigate all incidents of political violence so that perpetrators of the heinous crimes can be held accountable for their actions.
On 27 February 2022, some suspected Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) political party youths meted out violence to supporters of CCC political party, who were gathered for a rally at Mbizo 4 shopping centre, in Kwekwe.
The violence broke out while the leader of CCC political party, Advocate Nelson Chamisa, was addressing his supporters in an open space at the shopping centre. A number of suspected ZANU PF party followers disguised as CCC party supporters threw stones at the CCC members, injuring several people in the process. A man was stabbed multiple times during the skirmish that ensued and he subsequently lost his life after being admitted at Kwekwe General Hospital.
The deplorable acts of violence by suspected members of the ruling ZANU PF party are extremely concerning because they threaten Zimbabwe’s democracy and the rule of law. A thriving democracy depends on the respect for the fundamental rights of everyone by all members of society and tolerance towards people who may have differing political views. Violence is also a threat to the peaceful co-existence of all Zimbabwean citizens, regardless of their political opinions, association or background. Violence is also deeply condemned by international law.
The Constitution of Zimbabwe, in Section 52(a), guarantees everyone the right to be free from all forms of violence. The Constitution, in Section 155, also prescribes that electoral processes must be free from violence. The acts of violence by the suspected ZANU PF party youths flout these constitutional principles. The targeting of CCC party supporters by the ruling party’s supporters also demonstrates the latter’s wanton disregard for the fundamental right to freedom of assembly and association, which is enshrined in Section 58 of the Constitution. The unprovoked attacks on the CCC party supporters by the ZANU PF party youths also infringed the victims’ right to personal security, human dignity and right to life.
The prosperity of Zimbabwe’s democracy heavily depends upon the successful prevention of these politically-motivated violent acts.
Therefore, ZLHR calls upon:
• All members of society to shun political violence and all forms of intolerance towards members of different political parties;
• Members of the ruling party to condemn and desist from all violent activities;
• The authorities to urgently investigate the acts of violence that took place at the CCC party rally in Kwekwe so that the perpetrators can be held accountable.
• The authorities to take concrete measures that are designed to prevent politically-motivated acts of violence from occurring again in the future.

The mother of Mutoko Mudzi District Superintendent Rev Heather J. Zisengwe, passed on on Sunday, the church announced.
Mbuya Mwakotsa passed on Sunday 27 February 2022 at Michael Gelfand Hospital. Her body will lie in state overnight at 1 Chihota Road, Mbare today, the announcement further read without disclosing the cause of death.
Church service was yesterday at 8AM at St Paul’s Mbare UMC followed by interment at Glen Forest Memorial Park at 2PM.
Mines and Mining Development Minister, Winston Chitando, Thursday failed to defend the grabbing of gold mining claims in Mberengwa district, Midlands province.
Chitando stands accused of grabbing gold claims owned by businessman Yakub Ibrahim Mohamed’s firm, Anesu Gold, and transferring them to Gold Reef Mining, where he was a shareholder.
In the High Court application, Mohamed claimed that Anesu Gold is the registered owner of the claims which are also referred to as Mangoro claims (Ipanema).
Chitando’s lawyer Lovemore Madhuku failed to produce an opposing affidavit to deny the allegations when he appeared before High Court judge Justice Rogers Manyangadze.
The other respondent, Golden Reef, was represented by Welshman Ncube.
Ncube argued that Anesu Gold had failed to establish a locus standi in its founding affidavit. Ncube submitted:
It is respectfully submitted that applicant, having been previously challenged on its locus standi, in previous cases between the parties, particularly case numbers HC7497/20 and HC33/21, had an obligation to plead its locus standi in the founding affidavit by explaining how it has the locus standi to vindicate rights which on the face of it belonged to a company known as Start Mining Services.
Mohamed argued in his application that the mining claims were previously registered in the name of Start Mining Services (Pvt) Limited, but at the material time, they were owned by and/or registered in his company name.
He said in 2018, invoices were sent to Start Mining Services to pay mining fees for the mining claim, but it failed, leading to forfeiture.
But Gold Reef argued that Mohamed and Anesu Gold had no legal right to bring the case before the courts, adding that there was nothing illegal about Chitando being a director of Golden Reef Mining- NewsDay Zimbabwe
By A Correspondent- Two Silobela men were murdered in cold blood during a fight over a woman at Cross Roads Business Centre, in the early hours of Saturday, police have confirmed.
The two, Blessed Sibanda (25) and Hillary Maphosa (21), of Chief Malisa, in Silobela, lost their lives after allegedly being stabbed by Talcott Mupasi.
His brother, Munashe, was also involved in the fight over a well-endowed girlfriend whose name has not yet been disclosed.
The two brothers have since been arrested.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the incident.
“Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms investigating the murder of two who were stabbed to death by a knife.
“The incident occurred at Cross Roads Business Centre, Silobela on 29 January 2022 at about 0030 hours. The now deceased two men have been identified as Blessed Sibanda, aged 25 years, of Madhambi Village, Chief Malisa, Silobela, and Hillary Maphosa, aged 21 years, from Simangeta Village, Chief Malisa, Silobela,” said Insp Mahoko.
He said the two deceased men were drinking beer with the two brothers Talcot and Munashe Mupasi.
Sibanda and Talcott then had a misunderstanding over a girlfriend.
“The argument degenerated into a fist fight.
A third man, Nqaba Ndlovu, was also stabbed.
He is now admitted at Kwekwe District Hospital.
“The two suspects were arrested and are in police custody.”
FOUR illegal gold panners have been dragged to the Bulawayo Magistrates Court facing allegations of robbing and stabbing two police officers in the city.
Mbekezeli Brighton Sibanda (24), Michael Khumalo (25), Lindani Mpala (20) and Bhekani Ndlovu (20) denied the charges when they appeared before regional magistrate Dambudzo Malunga on Tuesday. Malunga remanded them in custody to March 23 for continuation of trial.
Prosecutor Naison Chivayo told the court that sometime in January, a police officer, Really Vhiyayi Sarireni, was on his way home in Pumula South when he met the quartet. It tried to rob him of his mobile phone, but he ran away.
The four gave chase and caught up with him, took away his cellphone before assaulting and stabbing him.
A passerby, who was a Criminal Investigation Department officer Mehluli Sibanda attempted to intervene, but was threatened and ran away.
They gave chase and caught up with him at his house where they damaged window panes and assaulted him, leaving him for dead before stealing his car. The matter was reported to the police leading to their arrest.- Newsday

Police did not give reasons for releasing the 11 facing such a serious crime.
Meanwhile, there are reports that suspected state security agents violently stole the body of the late activist from the family amid worrying concerns that they have taken over the funeral.
Mboneni Ncube died following violent scenes at the CCC Star Rally in Kwekwe on Sunday.
Over 20 suspected ruling party militia descended on the CCC rally in Mbizo and started attacking people, throwing stones and using machetes and knobkerries. The violence left tens injured and hospitalised.
Chamisa said he was made aware of a scheme to attack his motorcade at roadblocks mounted on all highways in the Midlands province.
The violent scenes were captured live on camera and has been widely condemned.

Police and other security agents yesterday raided three houses in Harare, including that of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya, and arrested a foreigner and recovered four guns, following information on alleged reports of unlicensed guns being kept a at the premises.

Sources close to the investigations said police had targeted the three premises in search of drugs, guns and criminals being harboured following information that had been supplied to them.
They then conducted the raids after obtaining warrants of search and seizure.
Police have since arrested one suspect in Avondale West, identified as Ashref Kara, who was found in possession of four guns and several rounds of ammunition.
No arrests or recoveries were recorded on the other two premises in Mt Pleasant belonging to PHD Ministries leader Prophet Magaya, and in Sandton, where they also raided.
At Prophet Magaya’s house, police were looking for one Frank Mudimu, who is believed to have supplied a wrong address to the police, according to a search warrant seen by The Herald.
In an interview, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that acting on credible information and ongoing investigations on suspicious criminal movements, the police obtained warrants of search and seizure leading to raids at three premises in Harare today (yesterday).
“As a result, one suspect, Ashref Kara of number 66 Argyle Road, Avondale West, Harare, has been arrested for possession of unlicenced firearms and ammunition,” he said.
The firearms recovered are one Plainsman pistol, a Gabilondoy CIA Victoria Pistol with four rounds, an Auto pistol 6.35mm with three rounds of ammunition, a Brevete Autoque pistol, a CZ magazine with one round and a pistol holster.
The suspect is facing charges of contravening the provisions of the Firearms Act, Chapter 10:09.
“The police also conducted raids at number 18 Cuba Road, Mt Pleasant and 261 Phase 1, Sandton, Goodhope in Harare. These raids were not targeting specific individuals or personalities but criminal activities based on information given to the police.
“The police takes this opportunity to thank the public for cooperating and continuous supply of information on possible criminal acts in the country,” Asst Comm Nyathi said.
When contacted for comment, PHD Ministries chief spokesperson and senior overseer, Mr Admire Mango, confirmed the developments saying from information he had gathered the police were looking for one Mudimu, and not Prophet Magaya.
Mr Mango, who was on his way from Chinhoyi, said he was still gathering more information over the matter and would provide more details soon.
The yet to be identified Mudimu is believed to have supplied a false address which resulted in the police raiding Prophet Magaya’s house.

While explanations were not declared, Zimbabwe emerged among the 35 countries that abstained from voting in favour of Russia when the United Nations General Assembly put the Ukraine crisis for a vote.
Mnangagwa on Wednesday turned away from supporting the ally he called my big brother, Vladimir Putin on the latter’s invasion of Ukraine, launched last week.
This was during the drafting of a UN resolution against the invasion of Ukraine.
The UN met on Wednesday afternoon and obtained majority votes in favour of a condemnation of the invasion.

Mnangagwa’s administration is expected to release a comprehensive statement on the vote today.
Although resolutions aren’t legally binding, the vote yesterday reflected divided opinion over the Russian-initiated military operation in Ukraine.
Most Western nations voted against Russia while Zimbabwe was among the 35 that included China, El Salvador, India, Iran, Iraq, China, South Africa, Algeria, Angola and Mozambique that abstained.
Countries that were pushing for an outright condemnation of Russia got a rude awakening as at least 5 countries came out guns blazing in support of President Vladimir Putin. Countries that spoke for Russia included Belarus, North Korea, Cuba and Syria.
President Putin has raised concern over Ukraine, which he said must remain a neutral buffer state and not become a member of NATO. He has also called for NATO to stop military activities in Eastern Europe, blaming it for undermining the region’s security.
The Russian president has said the military operation in Ukraine is meant to protect and secure its security concerns.
Five countries, Russia, Syria, North Korea, Eritrea and Belarus voted against reprimanding Russia while 141 members supported the resolution.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe is evacuating its citizens who have managed to leave Ukraine to neighbouring countries mainly Poland.
An envoy was dispatched to Poland for the safe-keeping of Zimbabweans who have fled to the central European country, these Zimbabweans are generally students who were studying in Eastern Europe.
The Government representative is taking care of their welfare in Poland while facilitating their return home after the Government committed to pay for their return tickets.
Posting on their micro blogging site Twitter this week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade said: “The Government wishes to inform all students who have left Ukraine to urgently get in touch with the Government official in Poland.
“The Government has already dispatched an official to Poland to organise their stay in Poland and buy their tickets to Zimbabwe. All those who are stranded and wish to travel to Zimbabwe will be assisted.”
The Foreign Affairs Ministry assured parents that the Government was seized with evacuating its citizens home.
All students in Ukraine were being urged to cross the border into neighbouring Poland where Government intervention was guaranteed from there.
“Government wishes to assure parents with students in Ukraine that they should not worry. The Government is going to pay for return tickets for all the students currently being evacuated from Ukraine to Zimbabwe.
“All the students currently in Ukraine are urged to cross over to Poland and they will be assisted from there. Our Embassy in Germany is making all concerted efforts to make sure that our students are brought home safely.

“Evil driven politics should stop” demands the church
The church is utterly shocked that Zimbabwean politics is still in this day and age deeply entrenched in hate speech, violence and bloodletting when other nations have embraced tolerance inclusivity and progressive nationhood.
Kenya has set a commendable standard for nation building when President Uhuru Kenyatta announced his endorsement to an opposition member. That is fatherhood at best, statesmanship par excellence.
The recent violence perpetrated on the CCC supporters resulting in the deaths of at least 2 people at a rally in Kwekwe came at the instigation of high-profile ZANU PF leader in which he clearly issued a warning to the opposition that Zanu Pf will crush them like lice. Such wicked statements from a supposed leader second in command in the governance hierarchy should never be tolerated at all.
Who shall remind this moribund rulership that similar irresponsible statements drove Rwanda to a very regrettable civil war in the 90s?
Of note though this time around, is the commendable conduct of the police who we understand quickly apprehended the culprits and just hope that no political interference impedes the justice delivery system. We have said it before and will say it again that our ZRP if not interfered with, are one of the most efficient and professional force, this side of the world.
The church also demands that government ensures good police coverage on all political party rallies for the safety of everyone.
The nation must stand against this violence prone political leadership and make it clear that such base, primitive and evil politics is totally un-Zimbabwean and if they cannot practice clean free and fair politics, they should just pack bags and allow the nation to move forward without them. After all, the economy has literally collapsed under such visionless leadership who have sought to hold onto power through hook and crook at the expense of acceptable democratic processes.
The tired mantra “we liberated this country” has long lost value because of the serious negation of the ethos of the liberation struggle which we all know.
The bible condemns the shedding of blood of innocent people and even the liberation struggle had this as one of its guiding principles during those years. How then in the name of the same struggle do we have people purporting to have liberated the nation, killing anyone of a divergent view when even the late Tongogara himself, said “we are fighting to see a free Zimbabwe in which white and black can freely co-exist” Further, if we truly uphold Ubuntu/Hunhu values, tribal differences will become insignificant amongst us.
Evil political leaders ought to be reminded that time for owning up to their deeds under the sun will come someday, and at times the consequences might be faced in this life and beyond the grave as well.
People’s innocent blood will always cry before their creator and the Political leadership of the day ought to be reminded that God is no respecter of persons.

By- Police have arrested a traditional healer for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl under the pretext of cleansing her.
Police on their twitter page confirmed the incident which occurred in Gwelutshena on February 26.
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of a self-proclaimed witchdoctor Master Ndlovu (49) in connection with a case of rape involving a minor (12) which occurred at Nkanyiso Village, Sengulube, Mateme Gwelutshena on February.
“The suspect approached the victim and told her that she was possessed and needed some cleansing before commanding the victim to remove all her clothes.
He smeared some substances on the complainant’s privates, gave her some powder to consume and she became unconscious,” said their police.
The police said the suspect raped the victim and left her unconscious in a kitchen hut. -State media
By- The Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum has reported that 11 of the 16 people arrested in connection with violence and murder at the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) rally held in Kwekwe over the weekend have been released. Meanwhile, the remainder (5) appeared in court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody. The suspects who appeared before the courts are Edmore Shoshera (30) of Mbizo 15, Albert Maketo Tembo (29) of Mbizo 15, Percy Mukwaturi (38) Chicago, Talent Imbayago (28) of Chief Choto, Gokwe and Panashe Makuvaze (24) of Chief Gwesela, Zhombe. In a statement seen by Pindula News, the forum said: 11 of the 16 Zanu PF youths arrested for allegedly killing a CCC supporter at a rally addressed by opposition leader Nelson Chamisa in Kwekwe on Sunday have been released. Police did not give reasons for releasing the 11 facing such a serious crime. The suspects, who are suspected ZANU PF members were arrested for the murder of 35-year-old Mbongeni Ncube damaging several vehicles, and injuring many people, some of which were treated and discharged while some are hospitalised and are in critical condition.
The five who are represented by different lawyers were not asked to plead when they appeared before Kwekwe regional magistrate Florence Nago who remanded them in custody to March 15. It is alleged that on February 27 at around 1530 hours, one of the accused persons stabbed Ncube with a sharp object thrice on the back. Ncube was rushed to Kwekwe General Hospital and was confirmed dead upon admission. All the accused persons were positively identified by witnesses who alerted police leading to their subsequent arrest at around 5:30 pm on the same day. They were found in possession of spears, knives and machetes.
It is alleged that the accused persons disturbed the peace, security and order of the public at Mbizo 4 Shopping Centre open space when they threw stones, spears, knives home-made petrol missiles and used sjamboks and catapults to inflict bodily harm to people who were at a CCC campaign rally. The state opposed bail saying the accused might abscond court and are likely to interfere with witnesses. Tembo and Shoshera have pending attempted murder and murder cases respectively.
By- The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) Tuesday said there was insufficient evidence against former Public Service minister Petronella Kagonye in one of her cases of fraud.
Kagonye, who is represented by Rungano Mahuni, is being accused of defrauding Shingiriro Housing Co-operative of some money after promising to deliver residential stands.
But ZACC officer Gilbert Manyore who is the investigating officer in the matter said he had encountered a challenge in investigating another count of fraud as an unnamed bookkeeper was outside the country.
He said the availability of the bookkeeper was critical in the investigations.
The officer also said the documents of the co-operative were not enough.
Kagonye, who was facing three counts of fraud, had one case withdrawn after witnesses claimed that they were coerced to lie against the former minister.
She also faces charges of converting government computers to own use.
Manyore, however, failed to state the number of computers received by Kagonye.
The defence filed a notice for discharge at the close of the State case.
Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti-Guwuriro will deliver her ruling on March 18.
The ex-minister is also being accused of converting US$18 000 meant for residential stands for a housing co-operative to personal use, a charge she denies.
By- Local government minister July Moyo has barred any official who is on bail to report for duty until their cases are cleared.
In a circular addressed to all mayors and chairpersons titled “Directive on Reporting for Work while on Bail”, Moyo said the ban was with immediate effect.
Minister Moyo said the surge in the arrest of senior council employees on charges relating to criminal abuse of office, among others, has sent mixed reactions to the public that they are employed to serve. “My office has always maintained the unwavering stance that in interest of the public and as a good corporate governance practice, any official who has a matter pending before the courts may not be allowed to continue with their day-to-day operations in council until they have been acquitted by the same courts,” he said. Minister Moyo has in the past issued a similar directive when a host of Harare City Council officials were arrested on corruption related charges sometime in 2020. By- The Zimbabwe Republic Police and other security agents this morning raided the house of PHD Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya for alleged criminal investigations.
The team raided his Mt Pleasant house in Harare as part of undisclosed criminal investigations.
In an interview, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development but could not shed more light. “This is in relation to ongoing criminal investigations being conducted by the police and we will release details soon,” he said.

The family convened a meeting at the Master of High Court yesterday, following a recent High Court ruling, which declared his unsigned will, and appointment of its executor, as null and void. Ginimbi’s father, Anderson Kadungure, and his uncle Kenny Mubaiwa, also attended the meeting. Prior to the High Court challenge, a questionable will had appointed Patricia Darangwa to be the executor while Ginimbi’s Lamborghini was given to his friend Kit Kat. As it now stands Ginimbi died intestate (without a will). “The family yesterday convened an edict meeting in compliance with what was ordered by the court, in order to restart the whole process and register the late Genius Kadungure’s estate. “His father, two sisters and uncle attended the meeting and it was agreed that the siblings jointly perform duties of executor,” said the family lawyer, Shingi Ushewekunze. Ushewekunze said the family will now start a fresh process. “Now, the family, through the two sisters, will begin the normal administration of the estate and share the wealth as they wish. “The court ruled in their favour and it is now on record that Ginimbi died without a will,” said Ushewekunze. The socialite died on November 8, 2020, after his Rolls Royce collided with a Honda Fit, along Liberation Legacy Way. Three other occupants including Moana, and two foreigners Alishia and Karim, were burnt beyond recognition, after the doors of the Rolls Royce jammed. Days after the incident, Darangwa presented an unsigned and undated will, purported to belong to Ginimbi. Darangwa became an executor to the estate. The family approached the High Court, seeking a review of the Master of High Court’s decision to accept the will, when Darangwa was keen to dispose of the Lamborghini to Kit Kat. According to the family, Ginimbi owned various properties, including a mansion in Domboshava and a company called Infinity Gas, which operates in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana. Zimbabwean dictator, Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday backed down from supporting the ally he called my big brother, Vladimir Putin on the latter’s invasion of Ukraine, launched last week.
This was during the drafting of a UN resolution against the invasion of Ukraine.
The UN met on Wednesday afternoon and obtained majority votes in favour of a condemnation of the invasion.
Russia invaded Ukraine following claims by Putin that the country belongs to his government. According to Putin, Ukraine was created by the Russian government.
Over 498 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine, and 1,597 wounded, Russia’s Defence Ministry announced in its first report of military casualties since the country invaded its eastern European neighbour last week.

By- A British national has been sentenced to serve one month in prison or pay a fine of $20 000 after living in Zimbabwe for more than two years without a valid permit.
She will be deported to her home country after serving a sentence or paying the fine.
Irene Susan Catherine Ager (65) who resided at 3 Purbeck Gose, Highlands in Harare appeared in court on Friday, facing charges of contravening Section 29 of the Immigration Act.
Ager had lived in Zimbabwe for 685 days after her holiday visa had expired.
She had entered the country in 2020.
Ager pleaded guilty to the charge when she appeared before Harare magistrate, Mr Tafadzwa Miti.
Prosecutor, Ms Polite Chikiwa, said the accused arrived in Zimbabwe on March 11, 2020, and was given a double-entry holiday visa, which expired on April 10, 2020.
Upon expiry of the visa, the accused never extended her permit to stay in Zimbabwe, and overstayed for 685 days leading to her arrest on February 24, 2022.

By- In a barbaric move, Botswana rapper/comedian Penene Ponono sent social media pictures of himself allegedly attempting to commit suicide during a Facebook live video.
In the video, Ponono could be seen climbing a tree with a rope in his hand. He wrote on his Facebook live video post;
People won’t understand what you going through until you act stupid… I am sorry I love you all.
It is not clear if it was a prank or not. But whatever that could be, the act was barbaric and unacceptable.
Ponono’s “suicide attempt” comes just a couple of days after South African rapper, producer and songwriter, Riky Rick Committed suicide.
Riky Rick, real name Rikhado Muziwendlovu Chifaro Makhado, died on Wednesday after allegedly committing suicide. He was 34-years-old.
Riky Rick was found hanging by his friends at his estate home in north Joburg. His friends managed to rescue him and immediately rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, it was too late, and he did not make it.
Riky Rick suffered from severe depression and previously made a video in which he talked about his mental condition.
Before he shockingly took his own life, Riky Rick spent his last moments penning heartfelt letters to his wife Bianca Naidoo and his two children Maik and Jordan.
In his suicide note, Riky Rick revealed he was struggling with depression and he couldn’t go on. He pleaded with his wife Bianca Naidoo and his two children to forgive him for giving up.

When asked about the situation currently unravelling in Ukraine, Tuchel said: “Listen, listen, listen you have to stop, I’m not a politician.

“So even to talk about it I feel bad because I’m very privileged – I sit here in peace. I do the best I can but you have to stop asking me these questions because I have no answers for you.”

Supersport United are reportedly considering reshuffling their technical team at the end of the season, but it’s not clear yet how coach Kaitano Tembo will be affected.
According to South African outlet, The Citizen, the board will discuss the issue when they receive a report from the coach.
An unnamed source told the publication that the club might hire an experienced technical advisor to work with Tembo, get him a co-head coach or hire a new coach altogether.
“It is not that the team does not have any faith in Tembo, he is the son of the team and will forever be part of the fabric that makes up Matsatsantsa A Pitori,” revealed the source.
“At the same time, we have to understand that we are regarded as one of the top teams in the country and our performances in recent seasons do not reflect that entirely.

“Like all other oligarchs, he is also in a panic. Abramovich is trying to sell all his villas in England. He also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly. I and three other people received an offer on Tuesday to buy Chelsea from Abramovich.
“I have to wait four to five days now. Abramovich is currently asking far too much. You know, Chelsea owe him £2 billion. But Chelsea has no money. Means: Those who buy Chelsea should compensate Abramovich.

In a statement, the lawyers said In his jurisdiction, one Village Head, Misheck Dirorimwe, does not allow his subjects to wear anything red from the month of September to June and anyone who violates the directives is fined. We present ZLHR’s statement:
PERSECUTION OF CITIZENS PLUMBS NEW DEPTHS IN NYANGA
THE persecution of citizens has plumbed new depths after a Village Head in Nyanga District in Manicaland province recently convicted and ordered one of his subjects to pay fines for wearing red apparel (red cap) in his jurisdiction.
The traditional leader recently took the unprecedented and bizarre decision in which he ordered an 85-year-old villager, Munashe Makunura of Tamunesa village, to pay US$20, four goats and two chickens after faulting him for allowing his grandson, who had visited him, to wear a red cap, a practice which is outlawed by Misheck Dirorimwe, the Village Head.
In his jurisdiction, the Village Head does not allow his subjects to wear anything red from the month of September to June.
Makunura, who was convicted and sentenced by Dirorimwe on 7 January 2022, was also charged for undermining authority of the Village Head by not presenting himself at a primary court session, where he was supposed to answer to the frivolous charges.
Makunura has now engaged two legal practitioners Kelvin Kabaya and Peggy Tavagadza of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, who are in the process of drafting an appeal seeking to set aside the odd decision of the primary court.

“Evil driven politics should stop” demands the church
The church is utterly shocked that Zimbabwean politics is still in this day and age deeply entrenched in hate speech, violence and bloodletting when other nations have embraced tolerance inclusivity and progressive nationhood.
Kenya has set a commendable standard for nation building when President Uhuru Kenyatta announced his endorsement to an opposition member. That is fatherhood at best, statesmanship par excellence.
The recent violence perpetrated on the CCC supporters resulting in the deaths of at least 2 people at a rally in Kwekwe came at the instigation of high-profile ZANU PF leader in which he clearly issued a warning to the opposition that Zanu Pf will crush them like lice. Such wicked statements from a supposed leader second in command in the governance hierarchy should never be tolerated at all.
Who shall remind this moribund rulership that similar irresponsible statements drove Rwanda to a very regrettable civil war in the 90s?
Of note though this time around, is the commendable conduct of the police who we understand quickly apprehended the culprits and just hope that no political interference impedes the justice delivery system. We have said it before and will say it again that our ZRP if not interfered with, are one of the most efficient and professional force, this side of the world.
The church also demands that government ensures good police coverage on all political party rallies for the safety of everyone.
The nation must stand against this violence prone political leadership and make it clear that such base, primitive and evil politics is totally un-Zimbabwean and if they cannot practice clean free and fair politics, they should just pack bags and allow the nation to move forward without them. After all, the economy has literally collapsed under such visionless leadership who have sought to hold onto power through hook and crook at the expense of acceptable democratic processes.
The tired mantra “we liberated this country” has long lost value because of the serious negation of the ethos of the liberation struggle which we all know.
The bible condemns the shedding of blood of innocent people and even the liberation struggle had this as one of its guiding principles during those years. How then in the name of the same struggle do we have people purporting to have liberated the nation, killing anyone of a divergent view when even the late Tongogara himself, said “we are fighting to see a free Zimbabwe in which white and black can freely co-exist” Further, if we truly uphold Ubuntu/Hunhu values, tribal differences will become insignificant amongst us.
Evil political leaders ought to be reminded that time for owning up to their deeds under the sun will come someday, and at times the consequences might be faced in this life and beyond the grave as well.
People’s innocent blood will always cry before their creator and the Political leadership of the day ought to be reminded that God is no respecter of persons.

What then shall the nation expect in the forthcoming by-elections, what of the 2023 elections if ZANU PF and its cronies are not allowing free campaigning for just a Bye-election. The nation must wake up to the reality that Zimbabwe is under siege from these intolerant evil men ruling this nation by an iron fist.
The church as the voice of conscience speaking the mind of God will not keep quiet when evil raises its ugly head against the citizens.

CCC has also accused the Zanu PF regime of hijacking murdered activist Mboneni Ncube’s funeral.
In a statement CCC official Hon Settlement Chikwinya said:
“I have seen a terrified family, frozen as events turn out that the CIO is determined to bury@mbonenincube the same way they did @gifttandare
State has stolen the body in a movie style. Citizens we must liberate the Ncube family.”
It’s now very difficult for ladies in Masvingo to go to church as one Madzibaba known as Prophet Rushiri is allegedly sleeping with every lady that comes to his church.
Reports claim Rushiri is a man of fake miracles and has many girlfriends and ushers that give him personal details about congregants,
He then claims it’s prophecy .He also hires people to perform fake miracles, sources have said.
One Madzibaba said his wife was snatched by Rushiri.
“My wife forced me to donate my only Funcago car to the man of God, later on I found out that they were dating.I still love my wife but Rushiri took advantage of my problems, please help me to tell Rushiri to give me back my wife” said one former congregant.
By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has condemned the violence that took place at a Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) rally held in Kwekwe on Sunday that resulted in the death of a 35-year-old Mbongeni Ncube. In a statement, the lawyers said:
ZLHR CONDEMNS ACTS OF VIOLENCE IN KWEKWE
ZIMBABWE Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) strongly condemns the acts of violence that took place at a Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) rally on 27 February 2022.
ZLHR urges everyone to shun political violence and all forms of intolerance towards members of different political parties.https://zero.pindula.co.zw/market/featured/?limit=4
ZLHR also calls upon Zimbabwean authorities to urgently investigate all incidents of political violence so that perpetrators of the heinous crimes can be held accountable for their actions.
On 27 February 2022, some suspected Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) political party youths meted out violence to supporters of CCC political party, who were gathered for a rally at Mbizo 4 shopping centre, in Kwekwe.
The violence broke out while the leader of CCC political party, Advocate Nelson Chamisa, was addressing his supporters in an open space at the shopping centre. A number of suspected ZANU PF party followers disguised as CCC party supporters threw stones at the CCC members, injuring several people in the process. A man was stabbed multiple times during the skirmish that ensued and he subsequently lost his life after being admitted at Kwekwe General Hospital.
The deplorable acts of violence by suspected members of the ruling ZANU PF party are extremely concerning because they threaten Zimbabwe’s democracy and the rule of law. A thriving democracy depends on the respect for the fundamental rights of everyone by all members of society and tolerance towards people who may have differing political views. Violence is also a threat to the peaceful co-existence of all Zimbabwean citizens, regardless of their political opinions, association or background. Violence is also deeply condemned by international law.
The Constitution of Zimbabwe, in Section 52(a), guarantees everyone the right to be free from all forms of violence. The Constitution, in Section 155, also prescribes that electoral processes must be free from violence. The acts of violence by the suspected ZANU PF party youths flout these constitutional principles. The targeting of CCC party supporters by the ruling party’s supporters also demonstrates the latter’s wanton disregard for the fundamental right to freedom of assembly and association, which is enshrined in Section 58 of the Constitution. The unprovoked attacks on the CCC party supporters by the ZANU PF party youths also infringed the victims’ right to personal security, human dignity and right to life.
The prosperity of Zimbabwe’s democracy heavily depends upon the successful prevention of these politically-motivated violent acts.
Therefore, ZLHR calls upon:
• All members of society to shun political violence and all forms of intolerance towards members of different political parties;
• Members of the ruling party to condemn and desist from all violent activities;
• The authorities to urgently investigate the acts of violence that took place at the CCC party rally in Kwekwe so that the perpetrators can be held accountable.
• The authorities to take concrete measures that are designed to prevent politically-motivated acts of violence from occurring again in the future.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police and other security agents this morning raided the house of PHD Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya for alleged criminal investigations.
The team raided his Mt Pleasant house in Harare as part of undisclosed criminal investigations.

By A Correspondent| Former MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe has urged opposition forces in Zimbabwe to unite and defeat the ruling Zanu PF in what confirms her softening stance towards joining the Nelson Chamisa led Citizens Coalition for Change.
She said she is open to working with like minded opposition to unseat the ruling Zanu PF.
Khupe said her party is not participating in the upcoming by-elections so as not to fragment the opposition vote.
She added that her party will announce who her party is backing and encouraging his members to vote for.
By A Correspondent- Government employed nurses have stopped taking night duties declaring incapacitation and negligence by their employer, putting lives of patients at risk.
Zimbabwe Nurses Association (ZINA) president Enoch Dongo confirmed to NewZimbabwe.com that the health workers could not report for night duty because they are getting only ZW$1 000 in allowances for night duties per month and wanted an upwards review.
“We are not taking up night duty because of poor pay. The government has turned ignorant and is paying nurses ZW$1 000 per month for night duties which is not enough for one to travel to and from work at night,” Dongo said.
“It is costly to travel at night both financially and psycho-socially and that is not being recognised by the government.”
Dongo added: “We are reminding the employer that these allowances are based on work done during odd hours with little compensation. We have families that need to be taken care of,. We leave toddlers at home under the supervision of nannies who also need salaries at the end of the month and I am getting ZW$1 000 which is not worth the risk of travelling and working at night.”
Contacted for a comment, permanent secretary in the Health Ministry Jaspher Chimedza referred NewZimbabwe.com to the Health Services Board (HSB), which is the employer.
