Controversy Over Madzibaba Nzira Grave

By A Correspondent

The grave of the late Madzibaba Godfrey Nzira at Chitungwiza Cemetery has sparked controversy after it was revealed that a path leading to his burial site was constructed over other graves.

Nzira, a well-known spiritual leader, is buried at the cemetery, and his grave stands out prominently, drawing the attention of visitors. However, the path allegedly built by his church members and family has caused outrage, as it appears to have desecrated several graves in the process.

One local resident expressed their disapproval, stating, “That’s inhumane. We should respect the dead. Those with relatives buried here don’t even have a clue where their relative’s remains are buried now.” Another resident also condemned the actions, remarking, “This is not allowed. In our culture, desecrating a grave is taboo.”

Concerns have also been raised about the reasoning behind the relocation of other graves to make way for the path. “We don’t know what’s so special about this person to the extent of displacing other graves,” said another individual.

Criticism has also been directed at the local authorities for permitting the construction. “The town council is answerable. How can they allow something like this to happen? Relatives of the deceased must sue them,” one resident added.

In response to the outcry, Chitungwiza Municipality spokesperson Mr. Tafadzwa Kachiko confirmed that the local authority had launched an investigation into the matter. “Desecration of graves is in violation of council by-laws, and we are looking into the matter so that we ascertain what transpired so that those responsible for this are held accountable,” Kachiko stated.

Madzibaba Nzira, who passed away in 2011, had been released a few months earlier after serving a 20-year sentence for rape.

Mnangagwa Promotes 23 More Colonels After Elevating 33 Top Junta In 48 Hours

By Munacho Gwamanda– President Emmerson Mnangagwa has continued his rapid promotion of top military officers, reinforcing his grip on power while seemingly sidelining factions loyal to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Mnangagwa has promoted 56 high-ranking officers in the past few days alone, signalling his strategic effort to build a loyal military hierarchy.

Just this week, 23 Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant Colonels were elevated to the rank of Colonel, following 33 promotions within 48 hours last week.

New Colonels

The rapid succession of promotions includes the elevation of six colonels to Brigadier-General, alongside a significant reshuffle in the Air Force of Zimbabwe, where two Air Commodores, 11 Group Captains, and 16 Wing Commanders were advanced.

Mnangagwa’s actions, including these moves while on leave, underscore his determination to solidify control over the military, a key pillar of Zimbabwe’s power structure.

His promotion of military officers has been particularly concentrated at KG6, the heart of the country’s junta.

This flurry of promotions is part of a broader strategy to neutralize rivals, particularly Vice President Chiwenga, whose influence has steadily eroded.

Mnangagwa’s methodical sidelining of Chiwenga’s allies—many of whom have died under mysterious circumstances or have been politically isolated—has left the Vice President’s faction increasingly powerless.

With these calculated promotions, Mnangagwa appears to be setting the stage for a more secure rule, drawing parallels with the strategies used by former President Robert Mugabe.

While Mugabe’s reliance on military loyalty ultimately led to his downfall through a coup, Mnangagwa is following suit with a more meticulous, calculated approach to cement his dominance.

The President’s recent moves indicate a long-term strategy to retain power and potentially extend his rule beyond the previously suggested two-term limit, undermining any hope of a successor from within his party or the military.

Worker Killed in Crane Collapse at Trabablas Interchange Project

By A Correspondent| Tefoma Construction has announced a tragic incident at the Trabablas Interchange project site that resulted in the death of a worker.

In a statement, Tefoma said the accident occurred during crane de-erection operations when a mechanical failure caused the collapse of both a static tower crane and a mobile crane.

“Tefoma Construction (Pvt) Ltd (Tefoma) regrets to report a fatal injury following a mechanical failure during crane de-erection operations at the Trabablas Interchange project site on 6 January 2025,” the company said.

The deceased was an employee of Manzlink (Pvt) Ltd, a subcontracted rigging specialist firm hired by Tefoma for the dismantling process. Tefoma’s board of directors and management have expressed their condolences to the worker’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Tefoma emphasized its commitment to supporting the deceased’s family and is working closely with Manzlink during this challenging time.

“We regret this tragic loss and are offering our full support to the family and Manzlink,” Tefoma added.

Trabablas Interchange has been under construction since 2021 and is expected to be complete before the end of this year.

Mnangagwa Tightens Grip, Extends Army Boss’ Contract, Fires Police & CIO Chiefs

By Munacho Gwamanda- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended the tenure of Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Commander General Philip Valerio Sibanda by another year, shortly after firing the heads of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO).

This move underscores Mnangagwa’s growing reliance on military loyalty to consolidate his power.

Government spokesperson Nick Mangwana announced the extension on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
“It is hereby notified that His Excellency the President has, in terms of proviso (i) to the Defence (Regular Force) (Officers) Regulations, 1988, extended the appointment of General Philip Valerio Sibanda as Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces with effect from the 24th December 2024 to the 23rd November 2025.”

This extension comes on the heels of Mnangagwa’s controversial decision in November 2023 to appoint General Sibanda as an ex-officio member of the Zanu PF Politburo.

The appointment, which bypassed constitutional norms, was swiftly reversed after legal experts threatened court action.

Mnangagwa’s reliance on the military to entrench his authority follows a long tradition in Zanu PF, where top army officials have historically been incorporated into party structures to safeguard its dominance.

This practice, dating back to the late General Solomon Mujuru’s tenure in the 1980s, has transformed the military into a political instrument used to intimidate opposition supporters and stifle dissent.

Despite constitutional limitations, Mnangagwa justified Sibanda’s Politburo appointment as a mere ex-officio role, asserting it was consistent with past practices.

Speaking at the Saudi Arabia-Africa Summit, in November 2023 Mnangagwa dismissed concerns, stating:
“People are mistaken. General Sibanda is not a civil servant; he is an ex-officio member of the Politburo, meaning he cannot vote but can contribute to discussions.”

In a further show of consolidation, Mnangagwa recently promoted six Zimbabwe National Army colonels to the rank of Brigadier-General, alongside 27 Air Force officers.

These included two Air Commodores, 11 Group Captains, and 16 Wing Commanders. Analysts interpret these promotions as an effort to build a loyal military hierarchy while neutralizing factions aligned with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Chiwenga, who was instrumental in the 2017 coup that brought Mnangagwa to power, has seen his influence erode as Mnangagwa systematically dismantles his power base.

Key Chiwenga allies, including the late Major General Sibusiso Moyo and former Air Force Commander Perrence Shiri, have either died under suspicious circumstances or been sidelined.

Mnangagwa’s actions mirror those of his predecessor Robert Mugabe, who used military loyalty to maintain power but ultimately fell to a military coup.

The militarization of Zanu PF structures and the systematic sidelining of opposition within the ruling party have left little room for democratic processes.

Human rights groups have repeatedly accused Zanu PF of using the military to intimidate opposition supporters, particularly during election periods.

Mnangagwa’s strategy, analysts argue, seeks to cement his indefinite rule while reneging on an alleged power-sharing agreement with Chiwenga.

By extending Sibanda’s contract and reinforcing military loyalty, Mnangagwa signals his intent to tighten his grip on both party and state, leaving little space for internal or external opposition.

Bara also highlighted Olmo’s competitive spirit, stating: “Of course, Dani is a winner and he loves to play the games, not to watch them.” The agent’s comments suggest that Olmo is committed to resolving the situation and continuing to play for Barcelona.

Mountains Of Garbage Terrorise Warren Park

Uncollected Garbage at Warren Park 1 Sparks Health Concerns

Residents of Warren Park 1 in Harare have raised serious concerns over the uncollected garbage piling up at the local shopping center. Photos shared on social media and taken on-site show heaps of refuse, including plastics, food waste, and other debris, strewn across the area. The alarming situation has prompted calls for urgent intervention to prevent a potential public health crisis.

The Network for Environmental and Climate Justice, along with concerned citizens, highlighted the issue on social media, tagging city authorities and environmental agencies. The uncollected waste has become a common sight, with locals expressing frustration over the lack of action from the responsible municipal departments. In one social media post, the organization described the scene as “a huge health hazard to residents” and urged city officials to address the issue promptly.

The images depict residents, including children, navigating through the trash-strewn environment. Vendors and waste collectors are seen sorting through the garbage in what appears to be an effort to salvage recyclables. Meanwhile, stagnant pools of water mixed with decomposing organic waste add to the unsanitary conditions, further exacerbating health risks such as the spread of diseases like cholera and typhoid.

One concerned resident commented, “This is so sad, and one wonders if the council even cares anymore.” This sentiment echoes the frustration of many who have seen little effort to resolve the mounting crisis.

The area around Warren Park 1 is home to numerous businesses and households, and the accumulation of waste not only creates an eyesore but also threatens livelihoods and the well-being of the community. Residents are urging the City of Harare, along with environmental management agencies, to prioritize waste collection and develop long-term solutions for sustainable waste management.

Failure to address this issue could lead to severe public health implications, particularly as the region grapples with existing economic challenges. Authorities are yet to respond to the growing outcry from residents and advocacy groups, leaving many anxious about the future of their community’s health and environment.

This situation serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for effective waste management systems and stronger accountability from municipal councils. As the garbage piles grow, so too does the call for immediate and decisive action.

By A Correspondent

Legendary musician and former freedom fighter Clive Malunga has launched a scathing attack on President Emmerson Mnangagwa, describing him as “heartless” and accusing him of running the country like a “tuckshop.” This is not the first time Malunga has criticized Mnangagwa, having spoken out against him at the end of last year.

In a video circulating on social media, Malunga expressed his frustration with the current state of affairs in Zimbabwe. “You see, fear factor is our major setback. Mr. Mnangagwa is taking us for granted. He is failing to feed the nation. This has gone too far. We have to challenge this,” he said.

Met Department Warns of Heavy Rains, Flash Floods

By A Correspondent

The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has issued a warning of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and flash floods expected to hit most parts of the country until Saturday, January 11, 2025.

“Heavy downpours exceeding 50 millimeters within 24 hours are expected across the country,” the MSD advisory stated. “An abundance of moisture in the atmosphere, brought by a cloud system, has been causing rainfall across the country since late December 2024 and continues into January 2025.”

According to the MSD, areas such as Matabeleland North, northern areas of Midlands, Harare Metropolitan, northern parts of Manicaland, and all Mashonaland Provinces can expect scattered thundershowers from January 5-8, 2025.

The MSD also warned of additional moisture from the southeast coast of Southern Africa, which is expected to bring cloudy, windy, and cold conditions over Matabeleland South, Masvingo, and Manicaland Provinces by Wednesday evening.

“By Friday, January 10, the rain showers are expected to intensify in the southern parts of Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East, and Harare Metropolitan Provinces, with rainfall exceeding 50mm in 24 hours,” the MSD advisory noted.

The department also cautioned that potential flooding can occur even in areas that might not have experienced heavy rains, as floods can result from upstream rainfall. Additionally, violent storms could lead to falling trees, blown-off rooftops, and collapsing billboards due to strong winds.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about weather updates to ensure their safety.

Davhe Village Defies the Odds: 10 Tonnes of Maize Harvested in Drought-Prone Buhera

By A Correspondent| In the parched landscapes of Buhera, where droughts have historically left fields barren and communities struggling for survival, a remarkable story of hope and resilience is unfolding. Davhe Village Business Unit (VBU) has achieved a milestone by harvesting 10 tonnes of maize, defying the harsh realities of their drought-prone region.

This achievement is largely credited to the transformative Presidential Borehole Scheme (PBS), an initiative championed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Designed to combat food insecurity in Zimbabwe’s driest regions, the PBS provides reliable water sources through boreholes, enabling farmers to engage in year-round agriculture.

The borehole installed in Davhe has become more than just a water source; it has turned the village into a hub of agricultural productivity. By embracing innovative practices such as crop rotation, the VBU has cultivated not only maize but also tomatoes, cabbages, and other vegetables—a sight once unimaginable in the arid region.

This year’s maize harvest was a resounding success, with the entire 10 tonnes sold to Prevail Group International (PGI) for an impressive US$4,000. The partnership with PGI, a key stakeholder in the PBS, has provided market linkages, enabling farmers to secure sustainable livelihoods.

Transforming Lives in Buhera

The benefits of the scheme extend beyond the fields. For many farmers, the PBS represents a lifeline. Maria Nyamunda, a mother of three, shared how the initiative has changed her life:
“Before this noble VBU initiative, we depended on erratic rains, and our crops would often fail. Now, with the borehole and guidance from the VBU, I can farm all year round. I sold my share of the maize and will use the money to pay school fees and provide for my family.”

Tatenda Mhiripiri, another beneficiary, echoed similar sentiments:
“This program has empowered women like me to achieve financial independence. I no longer worry about food security and have even started a small poultry business with the income I earned.”

A National Model for Growth

The success of Davhe’s VBU serves as a blueprint for addressing food insecurity across Zimbabwe. According to Paul Tungwarara, Chairperson of PGI, the scheme is reshaping agriculture in drought-stricken areas:
“The PBS has revolutionized farming in Buhera, proving that even in challenging environments, communities can produce surplus yields and improve their livelihoods.”

Over 86 small-scale farmers have directly benefited from this year’s harvest in Davhe, a testament to the potential of the PBS to uplift entire communities.

As Zimbabwe grapples with the challenges of climate change and food insecurity, the Presidential Borehole Scheme offers a sustainable solution. It transforms adversity into opportunity, ensuring that arid regions like Buhera can become hubs of agricultural prosperity.

For Davhe and similar communities, the future holds promise—a testament to what can be achieved when innovation, resilience, and support come together to turn barren fields into flourishing harvests.

Motorist Kidnaps Municipal Police Officer

By A Correspondent

A shocking kidnapping incident occurred on New Year’s Eve in Harare, where a municipal traffic police officer was abducted by a motorist attempting to evade arrest. The officer, 23-year-old Felistas Mutongweza, was taken by an unidentified driver who was operating a private vehicle without a council license.

According to Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson for Harare Province, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, the incident unfolded at the corner of Rezende Street and Nelson Mandela Avenue around 10 AM. “On December 31, 2024, the complainant was on duty with her workmates. Before the complainant’s colleagues entered the car, the accused person drove away with the complainant and other passengers along Sam Nujoma Street towards Belgravia Shopping Centre,” Inspector Chakanza explained.

During the abduction, the motorist took Mutongweza’s cell phone to prevent her from communicating with her colleagues. However, the officer was eventually released at Belgravia Shops, where the motorist returned her phone and drove off. Mutongweza quickly contacted her workmates, who arrived to pick her up.

The incident highlights the risks faced by law enforcement officers in their daily duties.

An investigation into the incident is likely to follow, with the authorities working to identify and apprehend the motorist responsible.

Flood Alert As Met Dismisses Cyclone Fears

By Munacho Gwamanda — The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has dismissed fears of a devastating cyclone but warned of heavy downpours and potential flooding across Zimbabwe.

In a statement, the MSD forecasted rainfall exceeding 50 millimetres (mm) within 24 hours in several regions until the weekend. The advisory highlighted:

“An abundance of moisture in the atmosphere, brought by a cloud system, has been causing rainfall across the country since late December 2024 and continues into January 2025.”

Affected Areas and Forecast

  • 5–8 January 2025: Scattered thundershowers are expected in Matabeleland North, northern Midlands, Harare Metropolitan, northern Manicaland, and all Mashonaland provinces.
  • 10 January 2025: Rainfall exceeding 50mm in 24 hours is predicted for southern Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East, and Harare Metropolitan provinces.

The MSD noted that additional moisture from the southeast coast of Southern Africa would bring cloudy, windy, and cold conditions to Matabeleland South, Masvingo, and Manicaland provinces starting Wednesday evening.

Flooding and Storm Risks

The department cautioned that flooding could occur even in areas with lighter rainfall due to upstream water flow. Violent storms may lead to falling trees, collapsing billboards, and blown-off rooftops caused by strong winds.

Public Safety Advisory

The MSD urged citizens to:

  • Secure rooftops and other property.
  • Avoid parking vehicles under trees.
  • Refrain from standing under trees or being the tallest object to reduce lightning risks.
  • Avoid using heavy outdoor machinery during storms.

Malunga Slams Mnangagwa for Running the Country Like a ‘Tuckshop’

By A Correspondent

Clive Malunga, a renowned musician and former freedom fighter, has sharply criticized President Emmerson Mnangagwa, accusing him of running Zimbabwe “like a tuckshop” and being “heartless” in his leadership. This is not the first time Malunga has taken aim at Mnangagwa, having previously voiced concerns about his leadership late last year.

In a viral video posted on social media, Malunga expressed his growing frustration with Zimbabwe’s leadership. “You see, fear factor is our major setback. Mr. Mnangagwa is taking us for granted. He is failing to feed the nation. This has gone too far. We have to challenge this,” he said, clearly agitated by the nation’s ongoing economic struggles.

Malunga also drew a direct comparison between Mnangagwa and former president Robert Mugabe, who was ousted in 2017. “Remember Robert Mugabe also exploited us, and now Mnangagwa is doing the same thing. Mr. Mnangagwa is heartless,” Malunga remarked, emphasizing his belief that the current leadership is repeating the mistakes of the past.

The musician’s comments come amid growing concerns over Zimbabwe’s economic hardships, including rampant inflation, poverty, and unemployment. Malunga’s harsh critique has ignited a broad debate across the country, with many Zimbabweans weighing in on his remarks.

Supporters of Malunga’s stance commend his courage in speaking out, viewing him as a defender of free speech and accountability. However, others have criticized his approach, claiming that his criticisms are divisive and unproductive.

As the debate continues to unfold, Malunga remains a vocal critic of Mnangagwa’s administration, with his remarks contributing to the wider conversation about the future of Zimbabwe’s leadership and governance.

Mohadi In Health Scare

By Political Reporter- Acting President Kembo Mohadi’s health is reportedly deteriorating due to fears that he might not be able to do his presidential duties.

The 75-year-old leader, who has faced persistent health issues for years, is struggling to complete his 19-day acting president while President Emmerson Mnangagwa is on annual leave.

Sources close to Mohadi revealed that his health condition is increasingly affecting his ability to perform official duties.

“The Vice President has not been well for some time. Although his medical team is optimistic, his condition raises concerns about whether he will complete his acting presidential responsibilities,” said an official close to him.

Mohadi is expected to hand over his office to his co-deputy President, Constantino Chiwenga, for the final 10 days of Mnangagwa’s absence.

President Mnangagwa, however, remains active in presidential duties despite being on leave.

Mohadi’s health challenges have a well-documented history.

He once collapsed while delivering a lecture at the University of Zimbabwe, an incident that alarmed the nation.

Eyewitnesses reported that he appeared disoriented and asked for water before losing consciousness.

In another unsettling moment, state security agents ordered journalists to delete footage of Mohadi collapsing during a campaign rally in Gutu, Masvingo, in October 2023.

His health woes have also led to him missing key government events, including a high-profile occasion officiated by Mnangagwa in Chikomba, where 17 schools were commissioned.

Besides health struggles, Mohadi has been embroiled in scandals tarnishing his reputation.

His infamous resignation in 2021 following leaked audio tapes of alleged sexual misconduct left a lasting stain on his political career.

The tapes reportedly captured compromising conversations between Mohadi and multiple women, including married subordinates.

Despite denying the allegations, the scandal forced his temporary exit from public office.

Efforts to obtain an official comment from Mohadi’s office were unsuccessful at the time of publication.

Mnangagwa Lures Tshabangu MPs To His Farm

By Political Reporter-Opposition Members of Parliament aligned with controversial CCC secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu are set to meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa at his Kwekwe farm.

The date of the meeting has not yet been revealed, but sources suggest its agenda includes pushing for dialogue with Mnangagwa.

The president, currently on leave, has remained in the country and is reportedly preparing to host the MPs at his private residence.

These lawmakers have drawn sharp criticism within opposition circles for their allegiance to Tshabangu, who has been accused of self-imposing his position in the CCC leadership.

Tshabangu’s faction has been widely criticised for betraying the party’s founding leader, Nelson Chamisa, after his decision to step aside early last year.

The move has reignited accusations of collusion with Zanu PF, with critics labelling the planned meeting a sellout strategy to legitimise Mnangagwa’s disputed presidency while further dividing the opposition.

Observers see this development as a critical blow to the opposition’s cohesion, raising questions about the MPs’ motivations and commitment to genuine political reform.

While sports betting remains a topic of debate in the state, its potential legalization could significantly reshape how fans engage with their teams.

This blog explores the unique connection between sports betting and Texas culture, examining how fans of iconic teams like the Cowboys, Longhorns, and Astros might embrace this new way of interacting with their favorite sports.

This culture of passion and pride sets the stage for sports betting to thrive if it becomes legal.

Texans are known for their competitiveness, and sports betting aligns perfectly with this mindset. Placing a wager on a game not only adds excitement but also allows fans to showcase their knowledge and loyalty to their teams.

How Cowboys Fans Could Embrace Sports Betting

These bets allow fans to focus on their favorite players and track their achievements throughout the game, making sports betting Texas even more exciting for local fans.

In-Game Betting

In-game or live betting would allow fans to react to the action as it unfolds. Whether it’s predicting the result of the next drive or wagering on a late-game comeback, live betting could add a dynamic layer of engagement for Cowboys fans.

Playoff and World Series Bets

The Astros’ playoff runs have become a regular occurrence, and fans could place futures bets on their team’s chances of winning the division, the league pennant, or even the World Series.

The Challenges and Opportunities of Sports Betting in Texas

While the potential for sports betting in Texas is immense, there are challenges to overcome. The state currently has strict gambling laws, and any movement toward legalization would require significant legislative changes. However, the growing popularity of sports betting in other states may influence policymakers to explore its potential economic benefits.

If legalized, sports betting could generate substantial revenue for Texas while providing fans with a new way to engage with their teams. It could also lead to partnerships between betting platforms and Texas-based sports organizations, further integrating betting into the state’s sports culture.

Responsible Betting and Fan Engagement

For sports betting to succeed in Texas, it’s essential to promote responsible gambling. Education about betting odds, limits, and risks will be crucial in ensuring fans can enjoy the experience without negative consequences. Responsible betting practices, combined with the state’s passion for sports, could create a thriving and healthy betting culture.

Conclusion

Sports betting has the potential to become a significant part of Texas sports culture, enhancing the way fans engage with their favorite teams like the Cowboys, Longhorns, and Astros. Zanu PF Hijacks Chief Chivi’s Funeral

By James Gwati-The funeral of the late Chief Chivi, born Tavagwisa Magura, who passed away on January 1 at the age of 105, has been overtaken by Zanu PF leadership in Masvingo, turning it into a platform for political propaganda.

Chief Chivi was a liberation war collaborator and was declared a liberation war hero.

He was laid to rest at his rural home in Maregere Village.

The funeral, ostensibly meant to honour his life and legacy, was heavily politicised by Zanu PF officials.

Masvingo Provincial Affairs Minister Ezra Chadzamira, self-styled as the “Chief Mourner,” praised the late chief as a Zanu PF stalwart, stating:

“We gather here today to celebrate and pay our last respects to the life of a selfless leader… Masvingo Province has been left poorer as Cde Tavagwisa Magura was an inspiration in our fight for independence, autonomy, economic emancipation, and national sovereignty.”

The sentiment was echoed by Senator Chief Chitanga, who emphasised the late chief’s role in local governance and his contribution to the Chiefs Council, and by Zanu PF Masvingo Provincial Chairperson Senator Robson Mavhenyengwa, who highlighted Chief Chivi’s unwavering support for Zanu PF as a former district leader.

Chief Chivi’s life intertwined traditional leadership and political involvement.

Born on July 15, 1919, in Chivi District, he completed his early education at Nyevedzanai Primary School and later worked for various organisations, including Shabanie and Mashava Mines and the Public Works Department.

During the liberation struggle, he became a war collaborator at Chitonje War Base in 1976 and remained aligned with Zanu PF post-independence, serving as a district chairman before his installation as Chief Chivi in 2012.

While the late chief’s contributions to his community and the liberation struggle are undeniable, the overt politicisation of his funeral underscores Zanu PF’s strategy of co-opting traditional leaders for political gain.

Chiefs in Zimbabwe wield significant influence in rural communities, and under Zanu PF’s governance, their authority has often been leveraged to consolidate party dominance and control rural voting blocs.

Chief Chivi is survived by two wives, 12 children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mnangagwa Pockets Tshabangu MPs

Convicted Rapist’s Grave Chops Down Other People’s Tombstones

Imagine arriving at a cemetery to pay your respects to a loved one, only to find their grave desecrated—its edges severed, the headstone toppled, or the plot completely unrecognizable. The entire section of the graveyard, once a sacred resting place for many, has been uprooted to make way for a single, extravagant path leading to the grave of one individual: a convicted serial rapist. The shock is immediate, the pain searing. What was meant to be a quiet moment of reflection turns into a haunting confrontation with destruction, disrespect, and betrayal. How could the final resting place of so many be sacrificed for one? Families are left grappling with heartbreak and rage, demanding answers for the desecration of their loved ones’ eternal peace.

Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe—A pathway leading to the grave of the late spiritual leader Madzibaba Godfrey Nzira at Chitungwiza Cemetery has sparked outrage after it was revealed that it was constructed over several existing graves. The controversial development has ignited a fierce debate about cultural and ethical practices regarding the treatment of the deceased.

The grave of Madzibaba Nzira, who passed away in 2011 shortly after his release from a 20-year prison sentence for rape, stands out prominently in the cemetery. However, the construction of the pathway by church members and relatives has drawn condemnation for its alleged desecration of other graves.

Public Outrage

Residents have expressed anger over the incident, accusing the parties involved of disrespecting the deceased.

“That’s inhumane. We should respect the dead,” said a concerned resident. “Those with relatives buried here don’t even have a clue where their loved ones are now.”

Another added, “This is not allowed. In our culture, desecrating a grave is taboo. We don’t know what’s so special about this person to the extent of displacing other graves.”

Residents have also called for accountability from the local council, with one resident suggesting, “The town council is answerable. How can they allow something like this to happen? Relatives of the deceased must sue them.”

Council Responds

The Chitungwiza Municipality has acknowledged the controversy and launched an investigation into the matter. Speaking to reporters, municipal spokesperson Mr. Tafadzwa Kachiko said, “Desecration of graves is in violation of council by-laws, and we are looking into the matter so that we ascertain what transpired and ensure those responsible are held accountable.”

Mr. Kachiko emphasized that graveyards are sacred spaces that must be treated with respect and dignity, adding that any breaches of this principle would not be tolerated.

Background on Madzibaba Nzira

Madzibaba Godfrey Nzira was a controversial spiritual figure and leader of the Johane Masowe WeChishanu sect. He died in 2011, months after his release from prison, where he had served part of a 20-year sentence for multiple counts of rape. Despite his criminal record, Nzira remained revered by his followers, who continue to honor him to this day.

Calls for Justice

The incident has reignited discussions about cemetery management and cultural norms in Zimbabwe. Critics argue that local authorities must enforce stricter regulations to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As the investigation continues, the families of those whose graves were affected are demanding answers and justice for what they see as a blatant violation of their loved ones’ final resting places.

JSC Rushes To Civilise Chiefs Imposed By Mnangagwa

Judicial Service Commission Intervenes to Civilize Zimbabwe’s Traditional Chiefs Amid Allegations of Abuse

By Dorrothy Moyo | Harare, Zimbabwe—In a significant move to address growing concerns over misconduct by traditional leaders, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has launched a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping Zimbabwe’s traditional chiefs with the skills necessary to deliver justice in a fair and respectful manner.

The initiative comes after widespread criticism of some chiefs’ behavior in customary courts, with social media awash with videos showing traditional leaders making abusive statements towards villagers and court attendants. In one viral incident from November 2024, a chief was caught berating an accused person, yelling, “Take your four glasses, you! Who do you think you are? Stupid!”

This conduct has sparked outrage among human rights activists and citizens, prompting calls for reforms in the administration of justice in customary law courts. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, JSC Secretary Walter Chikwana emphasized the importance of integrating traditional leaders into Zimbabwe’s broader justice delivery system.

A Strategic Approach to Reform

In an interview, Mr. Chikwana confirmed the JSC’s commitment to supporting traditional leaders through targeted capacity-building programs. “The Constitution clearly states that customary law courts are part of the judiciary, and they are adjudicated by chiefs,” he said. “It is our obligation as the JSC to support them, not only with resources but also with the training they need to observe the rules of natural justice.”

The JSC has engaged the Chiefs Council, led by Chief Mtshane Khumalo, to outline a roadmap for reform. This includes training chiefs on ethical conduct, judicial procedures, and respect for human rights. Mr. Chikwana underscored that traditional leaders must uphold high standards of justice as torchbearers of the judiciary at the community level.

Chiefs Council Backs Reforms

Chief Mtshane Khumalo acknowledged the need for training, stating that it has been long overdue. He revealed that the last training initiative was conducted in 2018 and welcomed the renewed collaboration with the JSC. “We have provided a list of chiefs to form sub-committees on legislative and training matters, and we are optimistic that these efforts will bring positive change,” Chief Khumalo said.

Public Concerns and New Responsibilities

The urgency of the training program is underscored by public outcry over past incidents. Stakeholders argue that empowering chiefs with proper judicial knowledge will curb instances of verbal abuse and ensure justice delivery respects human dignity. The recently enacted Marriages Act, which designates chiefs as marriage officers, has further highlighted the need for legal training.

“The role of chiefs as marriage officers introduces a legal dimension that requires a thorough understanding of the law,” added Mr. Chikwana. “This is another area where we must ensure they are well-prepared.”

A Path to Justice Reform

The JSC’s initiative aligns with Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which emphasizes the importance of strengthening institutions to foster social and economic progress. By equipping traditional leaders with the skills and resources necessary to dispense justice effectively, the JSC aims to build trust in customary law courts and ensure they operate in accordance with constitutional principles.

While the road to reform may be long, the JSC’s bold step is a significant milestone in modernizing the country’s justice delivery system and promoting a culture of fairness and respect in all courts, including those governed by traditional leaders.

Two Cemeteries Accidentally Built On Top Of Harare’s Waterworks

By Dorrothy Moyo | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – The Harare City Council has come under fire for approving two cemetery projects over key water infrastructure, raising fears of contamination to the city’s raw water sources. Both cemeteries, located above the Prince Edward Waterworks’ main trunk and in areas feeding into the Seke Dam, have drawn criticism from health experts, environmentalists, and residents.

The approvals have triggered concerns about the potential health hazards posed by decomposing human remains, embalming chemicals, and surface water runoff seeping into Harare’s water supply system. Stakeholders fear the projects could lead to a repeat—or worse—of the recent Lake Chivero pollution crisis, where untreated sewage discharge caused widespread ecological damage.

Two Projects, One Common Risk

One cemetery project is situated directly above the main water trunk of the Prince Edward Waterworks near Chitungwiza, while the second is located along Seke Road near water streams feeding into the Seke Dam. Both areas are critical to Harare’s raw water supply network.

Experts warn that rainwater could carry harmful contaminants from decomposing bodies, including embalming fluids containing mercury and other toxic chemicals, into groundwater and surface water systems. Such contamination poses a direct risk to human health, livestock, and aquatic ecosystems.

Public Health Alarm

Permanent Secretary for Health and Child Care, Dr. Aspect Maunganidze, confirmed that the ministry has launched an investigation into the health implications of the cemeteries. “Our team is conducting assessments, and a report will determine the next steps. Public health is our priority,” he said.

Despite these reassurances, residents are questioning how both projects were approved without sufficient consultation or Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) being completed.

Council’s Position

Harare City Council officials defended their decisions, stating that permits for the cemeteries were issued with conditions, including mandatory EIAs. Acting Director of Urban Planning, Mr. Samuel Nyabezi, argued that the process aligns with regulations, adding, “If the conditions are not met, the permits will be revoked.”

However, the city’s Department of Water had previously raised red flags over the cemetery near the Prince Edward Waterworks, warning of possible pipe ruptures and contamination risks. Engineer Zvenyika Chawatama, Director of Works for Harare City Council, acknowledged these concerns and indicated steps are being taken to map out pipelines and ensure no graves are placed above them.

Environmental Management Agency’s Role

The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) has faced criticism for its role in the approvals. While EMA spokesperson Ms. Amkela Sidange confirmed that assessments excluded designated wetland areas, she emphasized that public health risks are beyond EMA’s mandate. “Planning authorities must involve environmental health experts to prevent such risks,” she told the state run Herald paper,

Expert and Public Outcry

Public health experts have called the decision to allow two cemetery projects in such sensitive areas “reckless.” One expert warned, “We could face a water contamination crisis that dwarfs the Lake Chivero incident. Both cemeteries are dangerously close to critical water infrastructure.”

Residents, meanwhile, are outraged at the lack of transparency and consultation. Local communities affected by the projects argue that their safety and livelihoods have been sidelined in favor of questionable development priorities.

The Bigger Picture

The simultaneous approval of two cemetery projects over Harare’s waterworks raises broader concerns about urban planning and governance in the city. With investigations ongoing and public pressure mounting, stakeholders are demanding a halt to the projects until comprehensive environmental and health assessments are completed.

The Ministry of Health is expected to release its findings soon, but for now, the controversial cemetery projects remain a flashpoint for Harare’s water security and public health.

Scholarly Report: The Risks of Cemetery Development on Critical Water Infrastructure

Cemetery placement above critical water infrastructure poses significant environmental and public health risks. Globally, examples from both developing and developed countries demonstrate the potential for severe consequences when burial grounds contaminate nearby water sources. The case of Harare’s decision to approve two cemetery projects above the Prince Edward Waterworks highlights these risks. Drawing from academic studies and historical precedents, this report underscores the dangers of such developments.

1. Groundwater Contamination

Mechanisms of Contamination

Decomposing human remains release organic and inorganic pollutants, including nitrogen, phosphorus, ammonia, and chloride. These compounds, along with heavy metals such as mercury from embalming fluids and lead from coffins, seep into the soil and groundwater through infiltration. The process accelerates during heavy rainfall or if the water table is shallow.

Examples

São Paulo, Brazil: Studies conducted in São Paulo revealed high concentrations of nitrate in groundwater near cemeteries. Nitrate contamination, primarily from decomposing bodies, exceeded safe drinking water limits and posed significant health risks, including methemoglobinemia (blue baby syndrome) in infants.

Adelaide, Australia: Research on cemeteries in Adelaide found microbial contamination of groundwater with coliform bacteria and pathogens like Escherichia coli, linked to burial practices.

Application to Harare

In Harare, the cemeteries’ proximity to the Prince Edward Waterworks trunk and Seke Dam increases the likelihood of contaminants entering raw water supplies. The threat is amplified by the region’s rainy seasons, which exacerbate leaching into both groundwater and surface water systems.

2. Public Health Implications

Pathogen Transmission

Decomposing human remains harbor a wide range of pathogens, including those causing tuberculosis, hepatitis, and cholera. These pathogens can persist in burial sites for decades and may infiltrate water systems.

Case Study

Lake Victoria Basin, East Africa: An epidemiological study found that cemeteries near water sources contributed to cholera outbreaks during rainy seasons, as pathogens infiltrated drinking water systems used by local communities.

Relevance to Harare

With Harare’s history of cholera outbreaks, including a deadly epidemic in 2018, the placement of cemeteries near critical water infrastructure could exacerbate the city’s vulnerability to waterborne diseases.

3. Infrastructure Risks

Pipeline Damage and Leaching

Cemeteries placed over water pipelines increase the risk of ruptures, allowing contaminants to infiltrate treated water supplies. Ground movement from burials and the weight of coffins can stress underground infrastructure, leading to cracks and leaks.

Examples

London, UK: In 2001, aging pipelines under an old cemetery were found to have ruptured, causing localized water contamination. The incident spurred changes in cemetery planning laws to prevent further risks.

Harare Context

The Prince Edward Waterworks pipeline, a critical trunk for the city’s water supply, lies beneath the proposed cemetery site. Ruptures in this pipeline could introduce pollutants directly into treated water, leading to widespread health hazards.

4. Regulatory Gaps and Oversight Failures

Importance of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)

Scholarly research highlights the necessity of comprehensive EIAs for cemetery projects near water sources. EIAs should assess soil permeability, hydrology, and the proximity of burial sites to aquifers, wells, and pipelines.

Examples of Poor Planning

Accra, Ghana: A lack of proper EIAs resulted in the establishment of cemeteries on wetlands. Subsequent studies found increased pollution levels in nearby streams and reservoirs, negatively affecting community health.

Harare’s Oversight

The Harare City Council’s approval of the cemeteries without completed EIAs contravenes international best practices. Furthermore, the Environmental Management Agency’s (EMA) conditional approval raises questions about whether critical health and safety factors were fully addressed.

5. Environmental and Economic Consequences

Ecosystem Impact

Cemetery pollution not only affects human health but also damages ecosystems. Leachate from burial sites alters the chemical balance of water systems, harming aquatic life and reducing biodiversity.

Economic Costs

The cleanup of contaminated water systems and the treatment of waterborne diseases impose significant financial burdens. For example:

Bangladesh: A World Health Organization (WHO) report noted that contaminated water sources near cemeteries increased the costs of water treatment by 40%.

For Harare, the economic implications could be devastating, especially given the city’s existing water treatment challenges and financial constraints.

6. Recommendations

1. Suspend Cemetery Projects Pending Comprehensive EIA

Both cemetery projects should be halted until detailed EIAs are conducted to evaluate the risks of groundwater and pipeline contamination.

2. Adopt Cemetery Zoning Regulations

Zoning laws should prohibit burial grounds near critical water infrastructure, aquifers, or surface water sources.

3. Monitor and Mitigate Risks

Long-term monitoring of groundwater and pipeline integrity near burial sites is essential to detect and address contamination early.

4. Public Consultation and Transparency

Local communities should be included in decision-making processes to ensure that public health and environmental concerns are prioritized.

Scientific evidence and global case studies unequivocally demonstrate the dangers of placing cemeteries near water infrastructure. The decision to approve two cemetery projects over Harare’s waterworks is fraught with risks that could compromise the city’s water security, public health, and environmental sustainability. Immediate action is required to reassess these projects and implement policies that prevent similar threats in the future.

Ben Manyenyeni: Cabinet Reshuffle A Mere Zanu PF Political Project

By Ben Manyenyeni

Reading the news of the re-assignment of a couple of Cabinet Ministers etc etc

Don’t expect too much to change out of these – just talking points.

Anyone who expected crowd favourite, Fortune Chasi to bounce back (especially at the Power and Energy Ministry) doesn’t know ZanuPF.

He shared the nation’s power outage frustrations while expressing his readiness to bounce back to the Ministry – on social media.

You don’t do that in Zanu!

Along comes July Gabarari Moyo – recycled to the Energy Ministry from Labour.

A talking point.

In my 5-year stint in leading a council, I had the privilege of serving under 2 State Presidents, 2 Party Presidents and 3 Local Government Ministers – this trio being Ignatius Chombo, Saviour Kasukuwere and July Moyo.

I formed opinions on them all.

Of the 3 Ministers@Local Government, Ignatius Chombo was the most diplomatic/cunning, Saviour Kasukuwere was the most aggressive/abusive and July Moyo was the most technical/professional.

July Moyo used the least force.

He would take you on IQ to IQ and technically, even in politically contested matters.

All 3 had the highest levels of loyalty to their ZanuPF boss.

In terms of brain power, it will surprise my many FB friends that July Moyo was by far the most intelligent.

I think he studied Maths and Physics in the US, if that helps.

Unknown to many, J G Moyo is an international authority in social security, labour and local government – not too many of our Ministers fly very high once they leave our Airport tarmac.

ZanuPF political changes don’t mean much to you and me.

Assignments and re-assignments are ZanuPF political projects, changing nothing, they are hardly ever performance-driven.

I am not sure what results JG will deliver at dim-lit ZESA and at her siblings like NOCZIM but whoever is involved there, please brace yourselves for fairly intelligent conversations.

Zim public offices are not known for gracious handover-takeover ceremonies.

The change of guard at ZRP was one such rare one with outgoing TG Matanga handing over the handcuffs to the new CGP Stephen Mutamba with some fine pageantry.

Watching the video clip it’s only them two who appeared a little ill-rehearsed about what to do with and about each other.

You couldn’t quite tell if they were about to head-butt or to kiss.

Go Well Richard Chihoro

By Robert Musara

My story with Dynamos began just before the start of the 2015 season. I was drinking alone at Montague when my friend Dr Gari Prince showed up.

We had a short chat and he asked me to get into his car. He drove to Chicken Slice near Mbare studios.

The first person I met who was a Dynamos official was a guy called Richard Chihoro. Gari quickly introduced us and told Nyoka that he was leaving me in charge of his portfolio as the Dynamos F.C team doctor whilst he was away on consultancy.

Me and Gari knew he was going to greener pastures. I knew mdara Chihoro coz on several occasions I had been part of the Vietnam crowd that had sang against him and the entire technical bench outside Rufaro and NSS on several occasions when things were not going our way. To those who know me, know that I was like that in my previous life.

That first day, that first encounter with this gentleman changed my entire life. This was the beginning of the rest of my life. (I now have a huge sports resume, unbelievable). This guy gently introduced me to the flipside of how I viewed Dynamos. 2 days later, we were playing those Bob something games against Caps. He made sure I had my room at Holiday Inn, (somehow always thought Dembare yaingo camper kwamudoronyenye), gave me a bag full of stuff…those days BancAbc knew how to dress us well. Sunday I had my first winners medal, Tuesday Nyoka showed up with an envelope for the winning bonuses. Gees, ndakawira mushuga nemistake.

Years went by and we had our ups and downs. Politics dzekubhora, different coaches, different beliefs, but many a times we would laugh about many of it. Tumatombo here and there, mvura yakazonzwii, nguruve muchanging rooms, this that everything, this guy had mastered the mind game. Most he would just make them up as we went by and we won games. Tuesday we would have a good laugh. He knew me well to tell me just enough. The rest he kept to himself.

As a doctor we shared a lot. He leant to trust me and I supported him as best I could. It hurts the most that I was not there in his final hour but the bond we shared with him and our close companion Job Zambo allowed it so that he was there with him that he had as much a comfortable cross over as possible. (Believe me that combination yakatomboita dambudziko zvekutodaro). When things go south for me one day, please call that guy first. I beg.

Today i say goodbye Mr Richard Chihoro. Nyoka. MHOFU. Sekuru Chihera was always my preferred.

I shall miss you my father. My mentor. My boss. My friend.

He had started betting with $350 but ended up spending the entire $3,420. Gonese was entrusted with the float on Saturday, but by Sunday morning, he had confessed to losing the money through online betting on a platform called Aviator.

The court heard that Gonese called the audit manager, Yusufu Bruce, to confess to the crime.

A reconciliation at the shop confirmed that the entire amount had been misappropriated.

Bruce filed a police report, leading to Gonese’s arrest. Sentencing was scheduled for Saturday, January 4.

President Appoints Personal Witch Doctor, Energy Minister Who Believes In Corpse Voltage

Chaos Looms as Witch Doctor July Moyo Becomes Energy Minister in a Nation Entrenched in Ritualistic Folklore

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | ANALYSIS | In a move that has ignited controversy, ridicule, and fear, the President of our beleaguered nation has appointed July Moyo, his long-time ritualistic witch doctor, as the new Minister of Energy. In a country already grappling with bizarre and deeply superstitious practices surrounding electricity production, this decision has sent shockwaves through both the public and international observers.

Corpse-Christianity taught by Mnangagwa’s prophet Ezekiel Guti ( video)
July Moyo, cartoon

The appointment comes as the nation faces a dire energy crisis, marked by daily blackouts lasting up to 18 hours and industries crippled by erratic power supplies. But instead of pursuing tangible solutions rooted in science and technology, the government appears to have embraced the absurd. Moyo, notorious for his ritualistic practices, is expected to oversee the country’s energy portfolio, raising fears of even more unconventional and unscientific attempts to “generate” power.

A History of Rituals in the Energy Sector

The appointment of Moyo is not an isolated incident in the nation’s troubled history with energy policies. In 2007, during the height of the country’s energy crisis, a group of government officials famously claimed that diesel was oozing from the sacred Chinhoyi Mountain. A witch doctor had allegedly performed rituals to summon diesel from the rocks. The bizarre claim saw ministers rushing to the site, accompanied by drums, songs, and promises of a miraculous energy solution. The debacle ultimately unraveled as a scam, embarrassing the government and exposing the lengths to which desperation had driven national leadership.

In 2019, the country signed a staggering USD 5 billion contract to extract diesel from coal. However, like the Chinhoyi incident, the project never materialized. Instead, it became another footnote in the nation’s legacy of mismanagement, corruption, and the blending of mystical beliefs with national policy-making.

Adding insult to injury, the country recently dangled millions to convicted fraudster Wicknell Chivayo in the belief that electricity would soon flow under his stewardship. With such irrational decisions setting the precedent, it’s only a matter of time before we witness even more fantastical attempts to resolve the crisis. Very soon, the country could see:

1. Electric wires being connected to graves in an attempt to “harness ancestral energy.”

2. Electric wires being connected to mountains, in the hope of tapping into some mystical “earth current.”

3. Electric wires being connected to coal stones, with the promise that rituals will make them self-combust to produce endless energy.

4. Electric wires being connected to more fat-bellied characters like Wicknell, who somehow become the face of the energy sector despite lacking expertise or integrity.

July Moyo’s Legacy of Ritualism

July Moyo’s appointment as Energy Minister has dredged up old fears about the role of ritualism in government. Known for presiding over secret ceremonies involving sacrifices and invocations, Moyo has long been a controversial figure within political circles. Critics argue that his rise to power signals a further descent into irrationality at a time when the country desperately needs practical, modern solutions to its energy crisis.

His first act as Energy Minister reportedly involved a ceremony in which he “consulted ancestral spirits” about the future of the country’s electricity grid. Eyewitnesses described scenes of animal sacrifices and chants, as Moyo promised that “the ancestors will light up the nation.” While some citizens, desperate for any resolution to the power crisis, clung to hope, others expressed outrage over what they see as a dangerous distraction from addressing systemic issues like decaying infrastructure and corruption.

Public Reaction and International Concern

The reaction to Moyo’s appointment has been one of widespread disbelief and growing unrest. Social media platforms are ablaze with criticism, with many mocking the government for prioritizing superstition over science. Protesters have already begun gathering in major cities, demanding the dismissal of Moyo and the implementation of practical energy solutions.

Internationally, the appointment has been met with skepticism and concern. Energy experts and investors, already wary of the country’s tumultuous policies, are now questioning the credibility of a government willing to entrust its energy future to a figure rooted in mysticism. Neighboring countries, too, are watching closely, worried about the potential for regional instability as the nation edges closer to chaos.

A Nation at a Crossroads

As the energy crisis deepens, the appointment of July Moyo represents a critical turning point for the nation. Will this move plunge the country further into darkness—both literal and figurative—or will it finally galvanize citizens to demand accountability and reject the intertwining of folklore with governance?

For now, the country remains in the grip of uncertainty, its future clouded by rituals, broken promises, and the ever-present specter of mismanagement. Only time will tell whether this gamble on superstition will yield light or leave the nation in an even deeper shadow.

In his message, Mondlane urged unity among Mozambicans, encouraging them to share the information widely:

“Share this with our brothers and sisters,” he wrote, emphasizing the importance of collective solidarity.

Public Reaction

The Facebook post has sparked a wave of activity on social media, with supporters organizing themselves to ensure a warm reception at the airport. Many see this as not just a personal moment for Mondlane but a symbolic event for Mozambique’s broader struggle for justice and progress.

Supporters have also raised concerns about Mondlane’s safety, given the politically charged environment in the country. His followers have called for peaceful demonstrations of support, highlighting their desire for positive change and unity.

Security Concerns

While Mondlane’s return has been met with widespread excitement, questions remain about the political climate and the potential challenges he may face upon his arrival. Calls for peace and protection for Mondlane have become a central theme in discussions among his supporters, who have expressed a mixture of hope and apprehension.

The Road Ahead

As January 9 approaches, Mozambique’s eyes will be on Mavalane International Airport, where supporters are expected to gather in large numbers. Mondlane’s return marks a critical moment in Mozambique’s political landscape, one that could galvanize efforts toward unity and reform.

For now, Mozambicans are urged to come together peacefully, as Mondlane himself advocates for hope, resilience, and the enduring power of unity in the face of adversity.

Speech summary:

Good evening, world, Africa, diaspora, Europe, America, Asia, Australia, Oceania, Antarctica, and everyone across the globe.

If you’ve joined this live broadcast, you can share it with 30 people or groups. This is one of the most important live streams in our ongoing struggle. It’s been about two and a half months since the last discussion, and I wanted to share this live stream to communicate with you and provide updates.

There’s been a lot of tension surrounding this live session. We’re now at a critical moment, with countless lives lost and many in danger. The country faces grave challenges, and we must come together to discuss and act. Share this link with as many as possible—30 people or more—so we can maximize our reach.

Mozambique is in turmoil. Reports from across the country show that the destruction, chaos, and violence are being orchestrated by state forces, including the police and military, who have been caught on camera ransacking businesses, targeting civilians, and committing unspeakable atrocities. Claims of “terrorism” in Cabo Delgado have suddenly disappeared, leaving the police and army responsible for the current crisis.

Innocent lives, including youth and political supporters, are being targeted. We have seen countless deaths, injuries, and destruction, yet institutions like SADC and others remain silent or complicit. This live stream is a call to all who value freedom and justice.

The crisis is not isolated; it’s a reflection of the broader failure in leadership across the continent. Africa’s founding visionaries, like Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr., dreamed of a united and democratic continent. Today, however, we face greed, corruption, and violence that betray their legacies.

This is a plea for action. The world is watching as Mozambique struggles under the weight of oppression, and it is our collective responsibility to stand up for freedom and justice. Share this message widely. Let us honor the sacrifices of those who have fought and died for democracy, both in Mozambique and across Africa.

We must act. We must resist. Mozambique will rise.

Zimbabwe Gets 1 Million Tourists in December, Marking Historic Milestone

Zimbabwe has recorded a remarkable milestone, clearing over one million travellers at its various ports of entry in December 2024. This achievement reflects the country’s strengthened regional and national developments, including the relaxation of visa regimes and the introduction of the user-friendly e-visa system. The milestone signals a new era for tourism and travel in Zimbabwe, aligning with the nation’s economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).

Ms Respect Gono

Chief Immigration Officer Ms Respect Gono noted the increase, comparing it to December 2023 figures of 840,000 travellers. “This steady rise is a testament to the Second Republic’s commitment to ushering in a new era of easy and convenient travel,” she stated. Other contributing factors include the prevailing peace, tranquillity, and economic progress.

Key ports of entry contributed significantly to these numbers, with Beitbridge Border Post accounting for over 500,000 travellers, followed by Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport and Victoria Falls International Airport. Innovations like the Online Border Management System (OBMS) have enhanced efficiency, reducing traveller processing times, while modernisation efforts at Beitbridge have decongested facilities.

Social Media’s Role in Driving Tourism Growth

This milestone aligns with global trends highlighted in recent tourism research, which underscores social media’s transformative impact on destination perception and visit intentions. A study published in the African Journal of Hospitality Tourism and Leisure identifies key factors shaping tourists’ choices:

Destination Credibility: Trust and transparency are critical. Zimbabwe’s streamlined visa process and secure environment have amplified its credibility as a travel destination.

User-Generated Content (UGC): Peer-generated travel reviews and social media content shape perceptions. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok have likely contributed to Zimbabwe’s growing allure.

Influencer Marketing: Influencers serve as trusted voices, playing a pivotal role in promoting Zimbabwe’s attractions, including Victoria Falls and its wildlife sanctuaries.

The study, which surveyed 982 respondents predominantly from Generation Z and Millennials, also emphasized the role of trust, engagement, and social media interaction in influencing travel decisions. Zimbabwe’s ability to align its strategies with these dynamics has positioned the nation as a top destination in Africa.

Future Outlook

As the nation celebrates its milestone, tourism experts suggest further leveraging digital marketing trends to sustain this growth. Expanding the focus to emotional and psychological drivers of tourist decision-making, as recommended by the study, could enhance Zimbabwe’s appeal. This includes refining marketing strategies that resonate with the evolving preferences of global travellers.

Zimbabwe’s success story is a testament to its strategic investments in infrastructure, policy reforms, and digital transformation. As global tourism rebounds, the nation is poised to remain a leader in creating seamless, accessible, and enriching travel experiences.– Ziana

Be Wary Of Broken Down Vehicles …

It is essential to always adhere to speed limits while driving.

In areas where speed limits are not posted, it’s crucial to drive at a controlled speed, particularly during the night.

Broken-down vehicles, especially trucks, are sometimes left on the road without sufficient warning signals, such as proper warning triangles.

This poses a significant hazard, particularly on curves and bends, where visibility is limited.

By slowing down, especially at night, you can ensure you have enough time to react to unexpected obstacles and potentially avoid dangerous situations. Remember, driving within safe speed limits is not just about following the law—it’s about protecting yourself and others on the road.

The Role of AI-Generated Images in Influencer Marketing Campaigns

Visuals are key to grabbing attention and influencing how consumers make decisions. A surprising fact is that our brains process images 60,000 times faster than text. This highlights just how powerful visuals are for communication. With the rise of social media and influencer marketing, AI-generated images have become a game-changer in how brands engage with their audiences. No longer just a concept from sci-fi, AI-generated images are now a practical tool for modern marketing, especially for influencers. In this blog, we will explore how an AI image generator play a role in influencer marketing campaigns.

What are AI-generated images?

AI-generated images refer to visuals created using artificial intelligence algorithms that can generate high-quality images based on text prompts or existing photos. These images are not manually crafted but rather created automatically, saving time and effort while maintaining high-quality results. The process typically involves using AI tools like image generators that translate descriptions into images.

How AI image generators enhance influencer marketing

AI image generators offer numerous benefits for influencer marketing campaigns. These tools simplify the creation of visually appealing content, which is critical in catching the eye of today’s visual-first audience.

1. Saving time and resources

One of the most significant advantages of AI-generated images is how they streamline the content creation process. Traditionally, influencers had to rely on lengthy photoshoots, graphic designers, or manual editing to create high-quality visuals. With AI image generators, influencers can generate numerous visual concepts in seconds. This reduces the time and resources spent on designing, shooting, and editing. Dreamina, for instance, allows users to upload reference photos or write descriptive prompts to create stunning visuals instantly.

2. Creating consistent branding and visual aesthetics

In influencer marketing, maintaining a consistent visual style is essential for building brand identity. AI image generators help influencers establish a unified look across their content. By generating images in different styles, such as modern, minimalist, or vibrant, influencers can tailor their visuals to match their brand’s unique aesthetic. Dreamina supports diverse image styles, whether it’s human portraits, landscapes, or anime-inspired graphics, ensuring influencers have access to a variety of creative options. Additionally, AI logo generator makes it easy for influencers to create customized logos that align with the brand, enhancing their overall presence and recognition.

3. Boosting engagement through unique visuals

In a crowded digital space, unique and eye-catching visuals are key to standing out. AI-generated images allow influencers to craft distinct, attention-grabbing content that resonates with their audience. Since these images are tailored to specific themes or styles, influencers can create visually compelling stories that engage their followers.

If you want to stand out from the crowd, you can try this AI generator to quickly produce custom visuals that fit your brand’s aesthetic. By using AI tools, you can ensure that your content is fresh, relevant, and unique, helping you capture your audience’s attention.

4. Enhancing social media presence

Social media platforms thrive on high-quality visuals, especially platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, where eye-catching images play a crucial role in boosting engagement. AI-generated images simplify the creation of visual content optimized for social media. Dreamina helps influencers generate visuals tailored for each platform, enhancing their social media presence and attracting more followers.

Using Dreamina to create customized visuals for influencer marketing

Step 1: Write a detailed prompt

The first step in using Dreamina is writing detailed prompts to guide the AI in generating visuals. These prompts should clearly describe the desired image, specifying elements such as style, colors, and subjects. For example, influencers can input prompts like, “a dark fancy room background for a lifestyle video” to generate customized visuals tailored to their branding needs.

Step 2: Generating images

After creating the prompts, influencers can select the Dreamina model they want to use, along with the aspect ratio, quality, and dimensions that best suit their project requirements. Once these settings are chosen, click “Generate” to create the image.

Step 3: Customizing and exporting

Once the images are generated, users can further customize them using additional features like retouch and inpaint. After making any necessary adjustments, influencers can easily export high-quality visuals for use in their marketing campaigns.

Benefits of AI-generated images for influencer marketing

Using AI-generated images in influencer marketing offers several key benefits that can significantly enhance campaign performance.

1. Reducing costs

Creating high-quality visual content often comes with high costs, including photography, design tools, and editing software. AI-generated images, like those produced by Dreamina, reduce these expenses by automating the content creation process. Influencers can avoid expensive equipment, professional photographers, and lengthy post-production efforts, making their marketing strategies more affordable.

2. Enhancing efficiency and productivity

AI-generated images boost efficiency by eliminating the need for manual design work and long production timelines. Influencers can quickly generate multiple high-quality visuals, saving valuable time and improving overall productivity. This increased efficiency allows influencers to focus on other essential aspects of their marketing campaigns, like engagement and content strategy.

3. Delivering customizable and tailored content

AI image generators empower influencers to create highly personalized content that aligns with their brand identity and specific marketing goals. With tools like Dreamina, influencers can generate a wide variety of images, ranging from product shots to artistic creations, ensuring they have unique visuals that resonate with their target audience. Additionally, features like image upscale help enhance the quality of these visuals, ensuring they are crisp and professional, further boosting the impact of influencer marketing efforts.

Conclusion

AI-generated images have become an essential for influencer marketing campaigns. By simplifying the creation of high-quality, customizable visuals, tools like Dreamina empower influencers to enhance their content, increase engagement, and boost their overall social media presence.

As AI technology continues to evolve, leveraging these tools will become essential for staying competitive in the dynamic world of influencer marketing.

Cabinet Reshuffle Meaningless, Useless

We ended up seeing a combo of salutes, double handshakes and hugs

National Parks boss Fulton Mangwanya heads back to “Red Bricks” Building as spy supremo for Mr Mnangagwa and indeed the party

I have some respect for these last 3 National Parks DGs – Mutsambiwa, Chadenga# and Mangwanya – it remains one of the Parastatals with highest level of goodwill.

In a political system that recycles its insiders aplenty it remains to be seen which positions the retired police and intelligence chiefs will be “retired” to next.

Mnangagwa Promotes Six Army Officers in Bid to Consolidate Power

By A Correspondent

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made significant moves to consolidate his power within the military, promoting six colonels to the rank of brigadier general amid ongoing power struggles in Zanu PF.

Despite being on leave, Mnangagwa is focused on ensuring his influence remains firmly intact, particularly within the army. A government publication confirmed on Saturday: “President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa promoted six ZNA Colonels to Brigadier Generals. The new Brigadier Generals are Osca Tshuma, Raban Nikisi, Benjamin Sabata, Passmore Taruodzera, Million Ndlovu, and Lawrance Munzararikwa.”

This strategic reshuffling is seen as part of Mnangagwa’s efforts to weaken the influence of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s allies, who have been critical of Mnangagwa’s 2030 presidency agenda.

These loyalists to Chiwenga are opposed to the current leadership’s long-term plans, making the promotions a significant move in the ongoing political dynamics within Zanu PF.

Balancing Tradition and Modernity – Marriage Counselling in Zimbabwe: Strengthening Marriages Amid Social Change

Zimbabwe is a nation deeply rooted in its cultural heritage, yet increasingly shaped by modern influences. This duality creates a unique dynamic in marriages, where traditional expectations and contemporary realities often collide. The question for many couples becomes: How do we honour who we are while taking on the present?

One of the biggest issue our marriages face today is economic strain. Inflation, unemployment, and rising living costs have put immense pressure on households, forcing couples to make difficult financial decisions. This stress spills into relationships, with arguments often revolving around money, sometimes overshadowing the love and partnership at the heart of a marriage.

Urbanization, globalization, and exposure to outside ways have gradually transformed gender roles. While traditional norms place men as breadwinners and women manage the home, this is increasingly blurred. Women pursue careers, and men carry domestic responsibilities. While this evolution can enrich relationships, it can also create friction.

Marriage counselling, ironically portrayed as an outsider’s way, provides a valuable tool through these complexities and is gaining acceptance in Zimbabwe; particularly among younger, urban couples. Offered by culturally connected Zimbabwe therapists, marriage counselling works with our traditions and provides a constructive way to address issues.

Trained counsellors help couples improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their emotional connection, all while respecting their values. For example, marriage counsellors in Zimbabwe often adapt their approaches to include cultural practices like consulting elders or incorporating faith-based perspectives, recognizing that these elements are central to many relationships.

What to Expect from Marriage Counselling in Zimbabwe

For many, the idea of discussing personal matters with a stranger feels daunting. Yet, marriage counselling is not about assigning blame or airing grievances; it is a guided process aimed at fostering understanding and finding solutions.

The typical counselling process begins with an initial session where both partners share their perspectives. A trained counsellor listens actively, identifies patterns, and facilitates open dialogue. This step helps couples uncover underlying issues—whether they stem from unmet expectations, unresolved past conflicts, or external pressures. The focus is on improving how both individuals relate to each other, not “fixing” one partner.

Sessions often explore practical skills, such as effective communication, managing emotions, and problem-solving. A couple may learn how to discuss sensitive topics—like financial constraints or differing parenting styles—without escalating into arguments.

Counsellors also provide tools for rebuilding trust, which is crucial if the relationship has experienced breaches like infidelity or dishonesty. It is important to approach marriage counselling with realistic expectations. It is not a quick fix, but rather a process that takes commitment, and effort from both partners.

Finding the Right Counsellor

Choosing the right marriage counsellor is a critical step. In Zimbabwe, reputable counselling services are available through organizations such as the Christian Counselling Centre in Harare, which offers faith-based guidance, or CONNECT Zimbabwe Institute of Systemic Therapy, known for its holistic, family-centered approach.

When selecting a counsellor, consider asking the following questions:

  • “Are you familiar with Zimbabwean cultural traditions and how they influence marriage?”
  • “Do you offer flexible session formats, such as online or evening appointments?”
  • “How do you handle confidentiality, especially in small communities?”

TherapyRoute.com is another valuable resource for finding qualified marriage counsellors who understand local contexts. The platform connects couples with professionals skilled in addressing issues ranging from communication breakdowns to more complex marital conflicts.

Questions to Reflect On Before and During Counselling

Marriage counselling works best when both partners actively engage in the process. Before beginning, it helps to reflect on a few key questions to prepare mentally and emotionally:

  1. What do I want to achieve through counselling?

Clarify whether your goal is to improve communication, address a specific issue, or rebuild trust.

  1. Am I ready to take responsibility for my role in the relationship?

Counselling often involves examining personal behaviour and making changes, rather than focusing solely on your partner’s actions.

  1. Can I be honest and open?

Therapy requires vulnerability. Being willing to share feelings and thoughts honestly, even when it’s uncomfortable, is vital.

During counselling, ongoing reflection is equally important. Ask yourself questions like:

  • “Am I listening without interrupting or dismissing my partner’s feelings?”
  • “Are we focusing on solutions rather than rehashing past conflicts?”
  • “What progress have we made since the last session?”

These reflections help keep the process constructive and focused on growth.

How Counselling Respects Zimbabwean Cultural Norms

A common misconception is that marriage counselling disregards African cultural values. On the contrary, skilled counsellors in Zimbabwe often integrate cultural elements into their work. For example, a couple from a Shona or Ndebele background might want to involve family elders in the counselling process. While this is not standard practice in Western therapy, many Zimbabwean counsellors accommodate such requests, recognizing the significance of elders’ wisdom and their role in mediating conflicts.

Faith-based counselling is another avenue that aligns with local values. Many churches in Zimbabwe, from Catholic parishes to Pentecostal ministries, offer marriage counselling services rooted in biblical teachings. These services resonate with couples who view their faith as central to their relationship. Whether it’s praying together during a session or discussing spiritual principles, this approach offers a comforting bridge between tradition and modern problem-solving.

Practical Tips for Couples Considering Counselling

For couples curious about trying counselling, a few practical tips can make the process smoother:

  • Start Early: Don’t wait until conflicts reach a breaking point. Counselling is most effective when couples are proactive.
  • Be Open-Minded: Give the process time to work and trust the expertise of your counsellor.
  • Communicate Your Needs: Let your counsellor know if you want to incorporate specific cultural or religious practices into the sessions.
  • Keep an Open Schedule: Flexibility in scheduling allows for more consistent progress.

The Benefits of Marriage Counselling for Zimbabwean Couples

Marriage counselling offers a wide range of benefits that can strengthen relationships, even in the face of complex challenges. Here are some of the key advantages for couples in Zimbabwe:

  1. Improved Communication Skills

Many couples struggle with expressing their needs or resolving conflicts without escalating tensions. Counselling teaches practical techniques for effective communication, such as active listening, using “I” statements, and addressing issues calmly before they escalate.

  1. Enhanced Problem-Solving Abilities

Counsellors guide couples through structured problem-solving methods, helping them work collaboratively to address financial stress, parenting differences, or other concerns. This fosters teamwork and mutual respect.

  1. Stronger Emotional Connection

Over time, stress, routine, and unresolved conflicts can erode emotional intimacy. Counselling helps couples rediscover what initially brought them together, creating opportunities to rebuild trust, affection, and understanding.

  1. Conflict Resolution and Prevention

Whether a couple is navigating minor disagreements or major issues like infidelity, counselling provides tools to de-escalate conflicts and address underlying causes. These tools can also prevent future disputes by fostering a healthier dynamic.

  1. Support for Intercultural or Diaspora Marriages

In a globalized world, Zimbabwean couples often face unique challenges when navigating cross-cultural dynamics or living apart due to migration. Counsellors experienced in these areas can help couples adapt and thrive.

While societal changes present new challenges for marriages, they also offer opportunities to grow and adapt. Marriage counselling is not a sign of weakness but a proactive step toward building stronger, healthier relationships.

If you and your partner are facing difficulties—or simply want to strengthen your bond—consider reaching out to a counsellor who respects your values and understands your experiences. By taking that step, you are investing in the future of your relationship and the well-being of your family.

By A Correspondent

A 28-year-old shift manager at Baker’s Inn, William Gonese, has been convicted of stealing $3,420 from his workplace to fund his online betting habit. Gonese, who resides in Unit M, Seke in Chitungwiza, pleaded guilty to theft before Harare Magistrate Lynne Chinzou.

Gonese explained that his motive for the crime was to win money to impress his new wife.

Bees Attack Looters of Collapsed Truck

Bees Attack Police and Public Near Overturned Truck in KwaZulu-Natal, Per Viral Video

Chaos erupted near an overturned truck in KwaZulu-Natal when a swarm of bees descended upon members of the public and police officers gathered at the scene. Supplied footage shows the dramatic moments as both civilians and law enforcement struggled to fend off the aggressive insects.

In the video, individuals can be seen swatting frantically at their faces and running in all directions as the bees launched relentless attacks. Police officers, initially present to secure the area and prevent looting of the truck’s cargo, were forced to abandon their efforts temporarily, shielding their faces and retreating from the swarm.

The overturned truck, which had spilled its contents onto the side of the road, was already attracting a crowd when the bees struck. The footage captures the intensity of the attack, with both bystanders and officers visibly overwhelmed by the stings as the truck remained toppled and unattended.

Authorities are investigating the incident, but the video highlights the unexpected challenges faced by police and emergency services in handling chaotic scenes, particularly when nature intervenes.

California Sportsbooks and the Law: How the Golden State Balances Entertainment and Regulation

Sports betting has surged in popularity across the United States, and California, with its vast population and passionate sports culture, is no exception. However, navigating the intricate web of laws and regulations surrounding California sportsbooks requires a clear understanding of how the Golden State balances the thrill of entertainment with the necessity of regulation. Whether you’re a seasoned bettor or a curious newcomer, grasping the legal landscape of sports betting in California is essential for a safe and enjoyable experience. This deep dive explores the current laws, regulatory frameworks, and the broader impact of sportsbooks in California, shedding light on how the state manages to maintain this delicate balance.

The Legal Landscape of Sports Betting in California

California’s journey toward legalizing sports betting has been long and complex, marked by numerous legislative attempts and evolving public opinion. As one of the most populous states in the U.S., the potential revenue from legal sports betting is significant, making it a hot topic in state politics. Despite this, California has yet to fully legalize and regulate sportsbooks, primarily due to competing interests and regulatory challenges.

Historically, sports betting in California has been limited to parimutuel wagering at racetracks, such as those for horse racing. This narrow scope has left a vast market untapped, with millions of potential bettors participating in illegal or offshore betting activities. The desire to harness this market’s economic potential has driven lawmakers to consider broader legalization, but progress has been slow.

One of the main obstacles has been the intricate federal and state regulations that govern gambling activities. The repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018 paved the way for states like California to explore more comprehensive sports betting laws. However, California’s unique political landscape, with its numerous stakeholders, including casinos, tribal nations, and anti-gambling advocates, has made consensus difficult.

Recent legislative efforts have focused on creating a framework that allows for both commercial and tribal sportsbooks, aiming to distribute economic benefits while ensuring regulatory oversight. Proposals have included measures to prevent underage gambling, promote responsible betting, and ensure that revenues are directed toward public services. Despite these efforts, the lack of unanimous support and ongoing legal debates continue to delay the full legalization of sports betting in California. As the state grapples with these challenges, the future of California sportsbooks remains uncertain, with continued discussions and legislative actions shaping the path forward.

Regulatory Framework: Ensuring Fair Play and Consumer Protection

Once sports betting is legalized, establishing a robust regulatory framework is crucial to ensure fair play and protect consumers. In California, the approach to regulating sportsbooks involves multiple layers of oversight, including state authorities, local jurisdictions, and tribal governments. This multi-faceted regulatory environment aims to create a balanced system that promotes transparency, accountability, and responsible gambling.

The licensing process is at the heart of California’s regulatory framework for sportsbooks. Prospective operators must obtain licenses from both state and local authorities, demonstrating their ability to comply with stringent standards. These standards typically include financial stability, security measures to prevent fraud and money laundering, and commitments to responsible gambling practices. By enforcing these requirements, California seeks to maintain the integrity of its sports betting market and ensure that only reputable operators can offer their services to the public.

Responsible gambling measures are a cornerstone of the regulatory framework. California sportsbooks are expected to implement tools and resources that help prevent problem gambling and support individuals who may be at risk. This includes setting deposit limits, providing self-exclusion options, and offering access to counseling services. Additionally, education campaigns aimed at promoting responsible betting behaviors are often mandated, ensuring that gamblers are well-informed about the risks and can make educated decisions.

Consumer protection is another critical aspect of the regulatory framework. Regulations mandate that sportsbooks provide clear and accurate information about odds, payouts, and terms of service. Transparent reporting and regular audits help maintain trust between operators and bettors, ensuring that the games are fair and that payouts are handled promptly and accurately. Furthermore, robust dispute resolution mechanisms are in place to address any grievances, providing an additional layer of security for consumers.

Tribal sportsbooks add another dimension to the regulatory landscape in California. Tribal nations operate under their own set of regulations, which must align with state laws while respecting tribal sovereignty. This collaboration between state and tribal authorities is essential for creating a cohesive regulatory environment that benefits both parties. By fostering cooperation and ensuring that all operators adhere to high standards, California can better manage its sports betting market and safeguard the interests of all stakeholders involved.

The Impact of Sportsbooks on California’s Economy and Society

The legalization of sports betting in California carries significant economic and societal implications. As the Golden State contemplates the introduction of regulated sportsbooks, understanding the potential benefits and challenges is essential for policymakers and the public alike. Sportsbooks’ impact extends beyond mere revenue generation, influencing various aspects of the state’s economy and social fabric.

Economically, regulated sports betting presents a substantial opportunity for revenue generation through taxes and licensing fees. These funds can be directed toward public services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure, providing tangible benefits to residents. Additionally, the sports betting industry can create numerous jobs, from technology and customer service roles to positions in marketing and regulatory compliance. This job creation can stimulate local economies, particularly in regions that host physical sportsbooks or serve as hubs for online betting operations.

Moreover, the presence of regulated sportsbooks can boost tourism, especially in cities with established gambling industries like Las Vegas and Atlantic City. California, with its numerous tourist attractions and sports events, could see increased visitor spending as gamblers seek out sportsbooks to enhance their entertainment experience. This influx of tourism can have a ripple effect, benefiting hotels, restaurants, and other local businesses, further stimulating the state’s economy.

Socially, the introduction of regulated sports betting requires careful consideration of the potential risks associated with gambling. While sports betting can be a source of entertainment, it also carries the risk of addiction and financial hardship for some individuals. California’s regulatory framework aims to mitigate these risks through responsible gambling measures and consumer protection laws. By prioritizing these safeguards, the state can promote a balanced approach that allows for entertainment without compromising public welfare.

Additionally, the legalization of sports betting can influence the cultural landscape of California. Sports have always been a significant part of the state’s identity, and the ability to bet on games can enhance fans’ engagement and excitement. This deeper connection to sports can foster a more vibrant and interactive fan base, enriching the overall sports culture in the Golden State.

However, it’s also important to address the concerns of those who oppose sports betting, citing potential negative impacts such as increased gambling addiction and the ethical implications of profiting from betting on events. Balancing these concerns with the economic and social benefits is a delicate task that requires ongoing dialogue and adaptive regulation. By continuously assessing the impact of sportsbooks and adjusting policies as needed, California can strive to maintain a healthy balance between entertainment and regulation, ensuring that the benefits of legalized sports betting are maximized while minimizing the associated risks.

Tshabangu’s funeral service is set to take place this morning at Lady Stanley Cemetery following an early service at Desert Ground in Njube. Mourners, including family, friends, and soccer enthusiasts, gathered at his Njube home yesterday to pay their final respects.

A Life Well Lived

Madodana Tshabangu, affectionately known as “Horsepower,” was celebrated for his love of football and his ability to bring communities together through the sport. Originally from Lower Gweru in the Midlands Province, Tshabangu made a name for himself as a defender for teams such as Gweru United and Contex. He later became a respected social soccer organizer and referee, earning the admiration of many.

Tshabangu is survived by his wife, Angeline, and four children—Maradona, Platini, Ronaldo, and Serena—whose names reflect his lifelong passion for the beautiful game. His family expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they have received from friends, well-wishers, and companies like Mzansi Express and Kingdom Blue, which facilitated his journey back home.

“Ubaba is now here to rest, and as per his wishes, we have done everything he asked of us. We will not let his legacy down,” said his son Maradona.

A Pillar of the Community

Tshabangu’s impact extended beyond football. Neighbors and community leaders described him as a unifying figure. Sipho Mhlanga, a resident association leader, said, “He was known for organizing football events and was like a son to us as a community. His loss leaves a void that will be hard to fill.”

Goodson Gama, a family friend, highlighted Tshabangu’s close ties with local journalists and sportswriters, adding that he was not only a source of stories but also a vibrant part of the city’s social fabric.

Final Farewell

Known for his extravagant lifestyle, Chivhayo has often flaunted his riches—from private jets to opulent holidays—while controversies swirl about the true source of his income.

Chivhayo’s business dealings, including state-awarded contracts, have long been shrouded in allegations of corruption and mismanagement.

As Peter Moyo takes the keys to his new ride, the spotlight once again turns to Chivhayo’s unchecked flamboyance and the lingering mystery of his controversial wealth.

2030 History, Future

In November 2017, Zimbabwe found itself in the midst of a dramatic political upheaval that would change the course of its history. Emmerson Mnangagwa, then Vice President, found himself fleeing the country after surviving a poisoning attempt, orchestrated by the regime of then-President Robert Mugabe. Fearing for his life, Mnangagwa crossed the border, seeking refuge from Mugabe’s henchmen who were intent on silencing him permanently.

The initial reaction among some factions within the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (Zanu PF) was one of celebration. They relished the idea that Mnangagwa had been forced into exile, viewing it as a chance to consolidate their own power. However, this joy was short-lived. Just two weeks later, the very individuals who had celebrated Mnangagwa’s departure found themselves scrambling to negotiate their own escape as the political tides turned against them.

This swift reversal of fortunes serves as a poignant reminder of the volatile nature of political allegiances and the folly of celebrating the misfortunes of others. In the realm of Zimbabwean politics, the winds can shift dramatically, often leaving those who revel in the suffering of others vulnerable to their own downfall.

The essence of this story is a call for unity and empathy among Zimbabweans. Celebrating the hardships faced by fellow citizens only serves to deepen divisions within the nation. The struggles endured by one are ultimately the struggles of all. We are bound together by our shared history and experiences, and it is crucial that we extend respect and understanding to one another, regardless of political affiliations.

In a country still grappling with the legacies of its past, the importance of solidarity cannot be overstated. As Zimbabweans, we must recognise that our futures are intertwined. Instead of rejoicing in the misfortunes of others, we should strive to uplift one another, fostering a culture of mutual respect and cooperation.

The political saga of Mnangagwa’s escape serves as a message that the pursuit of power can lead to unexpected consequences. As we reflect on this chapter in Zimbabwe’s history, let us choose compassion over celebration, recognising that we are all Zimbabweans deserving of dignity and respect. Only through unity can we hope to forge a brighter future for our nation.

Another Josiah Tongogara, Bombed And Placated In Bulawayo Hospital Bed Same Style

-The New Josiah Tongogara, Marry Chiwenga – Bomb Victim Forgotten by History.

-How Marry Chiwenga found herself bombed and abused like Josiah Tongogara, Douglas Munatsi, And ED Posed For Photoshoot Exactly Like 1979.

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | In a country scarred by political intrigue, violence, and unresolved tragedies, the story of Marry Chiwenga, wife of Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, pops off unresolved injustices that have shaped the nation. Marry’s life took a harrowing turn on June 23, 2018, during an attack that eerily mirrors the tragic fates of historical figures Josiah Tongogara and Douglas Munatsi.

The two bombing victims placated on camera during their anguish moments: who on earth does what Mnangagwa men keep doing since 1979, to placate bombing victims on camera while they are their bedside? Mnangagwa has done this on Marry Chiwenga, the same person who treated him with dignity when she airlifted him when he was ‘poisoned’ the previous year at a Gwanda rally.

The Bombing at White City Stadium.

On that fateful day in Bulawayo, Marry Chiwenga, alongside her husband and President Emmerson Mnangagwa, attended a political rally at White City Stadium. As the rally concluded, a hand grenade exploded near the staircase where Mary was descending. While President Mnangagwa had already exited the area with his entourage, the blast struck those still descending, including Marry and her security detail.

The attack claimed three lives, including Marry’s bodyguard, and left many injured. Marry herself suffered severe injuries and would later develop lymphedema, a debilitating condition that has come to define her life post-bombing. The image of Marry lying in a hospital bed, her posture reminiscent of Josiah Tongogara’s after his mysterious death in 1979, has been etched into the collective memory of Zimbabweans.

Historical Parallels

The bombing that targeted Marry Chiwenga is not an isolated incident but part of a chilling pattern in Zimbabwe’s political history. Josiah Tongogara, the revered military commander of the liberation struggle, met his untimely demise under suspicious circumstances which his secretary Oppah Muchinguri uses the term “bombing” to describe them in December 1979. Decades later, in November 2021, Douglas Munatsi, a prominent businessman and the (cabinet minister level) Director of the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency, ZIDA died in a mysterious fire that forensic evidence later suggested was caused by a bomb.

These events share a striking similarity: high-profile individuals targeted, their deaths or injuries shrouded in mystery, and no meaningful investigations or accountability from the state.

Neglect and Accusations

Instead of receiving the care and justice befitting a victim of political violence, Marry Chiwenga found herself marginalized and accused. While her husband received treatment for his condition abroad, Mary was left in Zimbabwe, grappling with her injuries and the government’s neglect.

Adding insult to injury, instead of investigating the perpetrators of the 2018 bombing, the government has opened cases accusing Mary of attempting to harm her own husband. These accusations, viewed by many as politically motivated, have overshadowed her status as a victim of an attack that nearly claimed her life.

The Fourth Victim: Sylvia Maphosa

Mary’s story is part of a larger narrative of state-sanctioned violence and the silencing of victims. On August 1, 2018, Sylvia Maphosa, a ZANU-PF member and government worker, was shot dead during post-election violence. Like Mary, Sylvia was falsely accused of being a supporter of opposition leader Nelson Chamisa. Instead of prosecuting those responsible for her death, the government sought to discredit her and others killed in the same attack.

A Legacy of Injustice

The bombing at White City Stadium, much like the deaths of Tongogara and Munatsi, remains unresolved. Video evidence showing the hand grenade being thrown has not led to any arrests. Instead, the victims and their families are left to grapple with unanswered questions and unhealed wounds.

At a time when the characters who bombed Marry at White City are walking scot-free, on 17 January 2025, the National Prosecution Service is pursuing charges against the attack’s first victim – she is being accused of attempted murder on her husband over a Johannesburg hospital incident, the same South African doctors have dismissed as baseless.

Marry Chiwenga’s story is not just her own—it is a reflection of Zimbabwe’s troubled history, where political violence is met with impunity, and victims are forgotten or vilified. As the nation marks over four decades of independence, the unresolved tragedies of Marry, Tongogara, Munatsi, and Maphosa demand not just remembrance but justice.

Marry Chiwenga’s journey from a hero’s wife to a forgotten victim serves as a poignant reminder of the cost of silence in the face of injustice. Her life, and the lives of others who suffered similar fates, underscore the need for accountability and transparency in a country where history continues to repeat itself.

To date, State Prosecutors are ignoring the killers caught on camera trying to end Marry’s life, and have instead opened a case against her to state that is the killer.

If Marry Chiwenga wanted to kill her husband, would she do it 2,000 km away in SA, if the govt’s prosecutors’ accusations are to be believed?- ZimEye

Ex-Political Prisoner Applauds Zimbabwe’s Abolition of the Death Penalty

By A Correspondent

Last Maengahama, a former political prisoner, has celebrated the recent abolition of the death penalty in Zimbabwe, calling it a major step forward for the country. In a powerful statement, Maengahama expressed his personal relief and approval of the government’s decision to end capital punishment.

“This is a huge relief for me personally,” said Maengahama, who once served as a councillor for the Movement for Democratic Change. “As someone who narrowly escaped the hangman’s noose, I could have been an innocent person wrongfully condemned. His comments reflect the sentiments of many who have campaigned tirelessly for the end of capital punishment in the country. For Maengahama, this victory represents not only a personal triumph but also a symbol of the strength and resilience in the fight against systemic injustice.

Mnangagwa Names New CIO Boss

By A Correspondent

Although on annual leave, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made significant changes to his cabinet, reassigning two ministers to different portfolios.

In a statement released on Friday, Dr. Martin Rushwaya, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, confirmed that Honourable July Moyo has been moved from the Ministry of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare to the Ministry of Energy and Power Development.

Dr. Rushwaya also announced that Honourable Edgar Moyo has been reassigned from the Ministry of Energy and Power Development to the Ministry of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare.

Additionally, Dr. Fulton Mangwanya has been appointed as the new Director General in the President’s Department, with the changes taking effect immediately.

These reshuffles come as Mnangagwa seeks to strengthen his control over the country amid growing infighting within Zanu PF.

Mnangagwa’s ambitions to extend his tenure beyond 2028 are facing resistance from factions within the party, with some advocating for his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, to take over the leadership of Zanu PF.

Used Car Purchase vs Rental in Dubai: Which is Better for Tourists?

Dubai, with its attractive skyline, advanced lifestyle, and luxurious road networks, is a place where having access to a car can make your tour much more enjoyable. Probably the most early or first choice one would need to make either for a short holiday or a longer stay is whether to buy a used car or rent a car in Dubai during one’s stay. With both coming along with their particular sets of advantages and challenges, how does one go about deciding which is the better option to reach for as a tourist?

Herein are the key differences between renting or buying a pre-owned car while in Dubai. This way, you will find it easy to make an appropriate decision based on your needs and economic provisions.

Renting vs. Buying for Tourists: What to Choose?

The decision to rent or buy a used car in Dubai can be a confusing one for tourists. To get some assistance in taking the right call, refer to the pointers below:

Length of Stay

If you are a short-term tourist staying less than six months, it’s almost always better to rent. The flexibility, low up-front costs, and lack of long-term commitment make renting the most convenient and cost-effective choice. If you are going to stay in this country only for a couple of weeks, then you will be spared some headaches by going with renting a place: registration, insurance, and maintenance.

It is, therefore, more economical to buy a used car for long-term stays exceeding six months, especially if you have plans of using the car often. However, even with such a scenario, it is still much easier and more convenient to rent rather than buying, as you will not be faced with the paperwork and financial responsibility of buying and selling a car.

Convenience and Flexibility

It brings with it greater convenience, especially when plans for travel can change at short notice. You do not stick to one car, and switching or even returning a car early—way before your initially planned period of rental—would not entail the financial burdens that come with owning a vehicle. This will be appreciated, especially by tourists who need not waste their time in the intricacies of the deal. For enhanced convenience check out used car deals as well as rent a Ferrari in Dubai options on OneClickDrive.

Renting a Car in Dubai Wins for Most Tourists

Renting a car is probably the most convenient, flexible, and cost-effective alternative for most tourists to Dubai. Buying a used car may be reasonable only if one has intentions of staying in the Emirate for a long time; otherwise, it is rather complex and expensive for tourists. Renting gives you the use of a car when you need one without the long-term commitment, upfront costs, or hassles of maintenance.

Renting also offers the freedom of choice from its large fleet of cars that would best fit traveling needs—be it cruising along the coast in a luxury car or exploring the city with an economical sedan. The only negative side of renting would be that it is rather an expensive daily rate if one plans on staying for longer. However, it is still much cheaper compared to buying and, of course, far less of a hassle. If you are a tourist visiting Dubai, then renting a car would probably be the better choice for your needs.

The added convenience, flexibility, and lower upfront costs make car rental  the best option for short-term visitors. You will consider the purchase of a used car only when you are staying for a considerable length of time and are prepared to handle all the extra expenses and responsibilities accompanying ownership. Lastly, that is a decision based on how long you’ll be there versus how much you attach importance to the convenience against savings in the longer run.

Mnangagwa Elevates 35 Top Military Officers in 48 Hours

By Political Reporter – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has promoted six colonels in the Zimbabwe National Army to the rank of Brigadier-General, just two days after elevating 27 Air Force of Zimbabwe officers.

The rapid promotions signal his intent to solidify control over the military and strengthen his grip on power.

The newly appointed Brigadier-Generals are Oscar Tshuma, Raban Nikisi, Benjamin Sabata, Passmore Taruodzera, Million Ndlovu, and Lawrence Munzararikwa.

These promotions follow the recent elevation of two Air Commodores, 11 Group Captains, and 16 Wing Commanders, though one Air Commodore and one Group Captain are currently on assignments abroad.

Both ceremonies were held at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks in Harare, a venue steeped in military symbolism.

In just two days, Mnangagwa has promoted a total of 33 officers, a move analysts view as part of a broader strategy to consolidate power and neutralize threats from factions loyal to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Chiwenga, who played a key role in the 2017 coup that ousted Robert Mugabe and installed Mnangagwa, has seen his influence wane as Mnangagwa methodically dismantles his power base.

Many of Chiwenga’s allies, including Major General Sibusiso Moyo and former Air Force Commander Perrence Shiri, have either died under suspicious circumstances or been sidelined.

The recent promotions also reflect Mnangagwa’s efforts to build a military hierarchy loyal to his agenda.

This mirrors the strategies employed by Robert Mugabe, who relied on military loyalty to maintain power but ultimately fell victim to a coup.

Mnangagwa’s actions suggest plans to retain power indefinitely, undermining an alleged agreement for Chiwenga to succeed him after two terms.

With these calculated moves, Mnangagwa appears to be closing ranks, leaving little room for opposition within the military or his administration.

Gift Banda Challenges Disqualification From ZIFA Polls

Sports Correspondent

Gift Banda has taken his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, challenging the ZIFA Normalisation Committee’s decision to exclude him from the upcoming association elections scheduled for later this month.

Banda, who previously served as the acting president of ZIFA, was notably absent from the list of candidates deemed eligible, which was published by ZIFA on December 23.

There are growing concerns about the potential for political maneuvering and influence, particularly with fears of Zanu PF’s involvement in the election process, which could undermine the integrity of the polls.

Observe Speed Limit For Safety

Panicky Mnangagwa Fires CIO Boss in Move to Consolidate Power

By A Correspondent

In a bold move to strengthen his grip on power, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired Central Intelligence Organization (CIO) Director Isaac Moyo, replacing him with Dr. Fulton Mangwanya.

This decision is being seen as a strategic move to remove perceived allies of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

A source close to the developments stated, “The President is clearly consolidating his power, and this firing is a part of that. It’s seen as a move to weaken Chiwenga’s influence within key state institutions.”

Additionally, Mnangagwa has reassigned several government ministers, signaling further reshuffling in his administration. The affected ministers include:

July Moyo: now appointed as Minister of Energy and Power Development.

Hon. E. Moyo: reassigned to Minister of Public Service, Labour & Social Welfare.

The reshuffles are effective immediately, with Mnangagwa’s government looking to streamline its operations in the face of internal political dynamics.

Fired Matanga Breaks Silence On Mnangagwa Exit

By Crime and Courts ReporterRetired Police Commissioner-General (CG) Godwin Matanga has publicly addressed his retirement, shedding light on how he was removed from office by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Matanga retired at the end of last year and officially handed over to Deputy Commissioner-General (DCG) Stephen Mutamba during a ceremony in Harare on Friday amid reports he had resisted leaving office.

Speaking at the event, Matanga dismissed speculation surrounding his exit:

“In the same manner, may I also take this opportunity to clarify an incorrect position that has been peddled in the media recently pertaining to my retirement. Ladies and gentlemen, listen carefully: I was properly served by the President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dr. Mnangagwa, at a time when my retirement was due.

“I am so content with the contribution and service I gave to the country in pursuit of national goals and aspirations. Suffice to say, the bar to modernize the police service is relatively high in view of resource constraints, skills flight, and crippling sanctions we have endured for decades, among other challenges.”

Matanga expressed confidence in his successor, saying:

“I am comfortable to pass the baton to Cde Stephen Mutamba, whom I have been with in the trenches for many years. I have no doubt in his capacity to steer the ship going forward.”

In October, Mnangagwa dismissed the head of the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s (ZRP) paramilitary Support Unit, with reports suggesting the move was a forced retirement.

Two deputies from the unit were also reassigned to ZRP headquarters in Harare.

Insiders alleged these changes stemmed from power struggles within Zanu PF, where police operations conflicted with the interests of Mnangagwa’s political allies.

Appointed in 2018 after Robert Mugabe’s ouster in the 2017 military coup, Matanga’s tenure has been contentious.

Sources suggest he could be reassigned to a diplomatic post.

The Support Unit, nicknamed the “Black Boots,” is headquartered at Chikurubi and operates in multiple districts, including Fairbridge (Bulawayo), Buchwa (Zvishavane), and Changadzi.

Initially tasked with crowd control, disaster response, border patrol, and high-profile security, the unit under Matanga became increasingly militarised, effectively serving as a paramilitary arm of Zanu PF.

The “Black Boots” were frequently deployed to suppress protests and intimidate opposition, particularly during elections.

As dissent grew under the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), the Support Unit gained infamy for its heavy-handed tactics against opposition supporters, students, and civil society.

When Mnangagwa assumed power in 2017, he sidelined the police, whose loyalty had been closely tied to Mugabe.

Following the disputed 2018 election, Mnangagwa deployed the military to suppress opposition protests in Harare, resulting in the deaths of at least six unarmed civilians.

This marked a dramatic escalation in civilian repression, drawing comparisons to the Gukurahundi massacres of the 1980s.

While Matanga portrayed his retirement as amicable, his legacy remains intertwined with the complex power struggles and repressive tactics.

Video of How Mnangagwa Spent 2024 Doing Nothing

By A Correspondent

On Friday, government spokesperson Nick Mangwana posted a video highlighting how President Emmerson Mnangagwa spent the year 2024.

The video was meant to showcase the president’s public engagements and achievements throughout the year.

“President @edmnangagwa had a very demanding 2024. In this clip, we’ve summarized some of his public events, mainly focused on commissioning impactful projects and breaking ground on others. It was a hectic year. Let me enjoy a well-earned break. #EDelivers,” Mangwana tweeted.

However, the video has faced criticism, with analysts pointing out that it fails to show any significant accomplishments and portrays Mnangagwa as doing little throughout the year.

Many observers have dismissed the footage as an attempt to cover up a lack of tangible progress.

Zanu PF Youth League Boss Says Claims of Divisions Mere “Borehole Talk”

By A Correspondent

In the face of growing speculation about internal divisions within the ruling Zanu PF party, Taurai Kandishaya, the Deputy Secretary for Commissariat in the Zanu PF Youth League, has strongly rejected these claims, dismissing them as mere “borehole discussions.”

Kandishaya’s comments come in response to increasing whispers and reports of infighting within the party. These rumors have been circulating particularly as the party heads into the election period, a time when the focus often sharpens on political rivalries. However, Kandishaya is adamant that the party remains unified and undeterred by such discussions.

Speaking last week, Kandishaya expressed confidence in Zanu PF’s internal cohesion, stating:

“If you think there are fights within ZANU PF then call for an election and see what is called unity of purpose. Even School Development Committee Elections, even burial society elections. ZANU PF aligned candidate will win.”

This assertion emphasizes his belief in the party’s strength, suggesting that any perceived divisions are overstated and do not reflect the reality on the ground. He highlighted that, regardless of the election type—be it local or national—Zanu PF candidates would emerge victorious, signaling his unwavering confidence in the party’s support base.

Kandishaya further distanced himself from football-related discussions, particularly about the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), stating:

“Handina kumbotaura zveZIFA ini.”
(“I have never spoken about ZIFA.”)

This remark appears to be a clarification of his position, as there have been various unrelated political discussions, but Kandishaya’s focus remains solely on the unity of Zanu PF. His comments underscore the party’s unity and the Youth League’s commitment to supporting the leadership and direction set by Zanu PF.

Despite the ongoing rumors of divisions within Zanu PF, which have been exacerbated by external observers, Kandishaya’s remarks point to the resilience and cohesion he believes is present within the ruling party. As the party gears up for the upcoming elections, the message from Zanu PF officials like Kandishaya is clear: any talk of disarray is nothing more than empty chatter.

CIO Boss Fired Without Notice

By Munacho Gwamanda- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has abruptly fired Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) Director-General Isaac Moyo without notice, replacing him with Fulton Mangwanya, former head of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.

The dismissal, announced Friday while Mnangagwa was on leave, follows the recent ousting of Zimbabwe Republic Police Chief Godwin Matanga.

Mnangagwa’s shake-up of top security positions is widely seen as part of his strategy to consolidate power amid rising tensions with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Moyo attended the handover ceremony from Matanga to the new Police Commissioner-General, Steven Mutamba, at Morris Depot just hours before his own dismissal.

The event was attended by Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe, CIO Minister Lovemore Matuke, and Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Anselem Sanyatwe, among other service chiefs.

Matanga and Moyo were appointed after the 2017 coup that ousted Robert Mugabe, a coup engineered by Mnangagwa with Chiwenga leading it.

However, Mnangagwa has since sidelined Chiwenga’s allies, including Matanga and Moyo, who were considered loyalists of the vice president.

Analysts view the firings as a calculated move by Mnangagwa to weaken Chiwenga’s influence in the security sector.

Other key allies of Chiwenga, such as the late Major General Sibusiso Moyo and Air Force Commander Perrence Shiri, also met untimely ends, leaving Chiwenga increasingly isolated.

Reports suggest that Mnangagwa and Chiwenga had an agreement for a leadership transition after two terms.

However, Mnangagwa’s recent purges and manoeuvres indicate he intends to retain power, further straining relations within Zanu PF’s top echelons.

Develop Winning Strategies by Mastering Technical Analysis in Forex

Technical analysis is an essential tool for forex traders seeking to develop effective trading strategies. By analyzing price charts and market indicators, technical analysis aims to forecast future price movements and identify trading opportunities. Mastering technical analysis requires dedication, practice, and an understanding of key concepts. Traders who excel at technical analysis can boost their performance and consistently profit from the forex market.

The Benefits of Mastering Technical Analysis

There are two main types of analysis in forex trading – fundamental and technical. Fundamental analysis involves examining economic factors that influence supply and demand. Technical analysis focuses purely on historical price data and market statistics. While fundamental factors drive long-term trends, technical analysis is better suited for short-term strategies. Blending both types of analysis into your trading plan can improve overall results. Platforms like HFM offer powerful charting and analytical capabilities to sharpen your technical analysis skills. Combining robust trading software with indicator mastery can give you an edge.

Hone Your Skills with Key Indicators

Technical indicators are mathematical calculations based on historical price, volume, or open interest data. There is a huge array of indicators to choose from, but mastering a few will provide valuable insights. Some of the most popular indicators include Bollinger bands, relative strength index (RSI), moving averages, and the stochastic oscillator.

Moving averages help identify trends and potential areas of support and resistance. Bollinger bands measure volatility and highlight overbought or oversold conditions. The RSI indicates momentum through oscillating between 0 and 100. Meanwhile, the stochastic oscillator identifies overbought and oversold levels through two lines – %K and %D.

Each indicator provides unique information. Learning how to interpret them within the broader context of the market is key to using them effectively. With practice, traders can discover ideal indicators and settings for their strategy.

Backtest Trading Strategies

A common mistake is failing to properly backtest a trading strategy before using real capital. Backtesting involves applying your strategy to historical data to evaluate its viability. This process uncovers any flaws and shows how your strategy would have performed in the past.

Robust trading software makes backtesting straightforward. You can quickly optimize factors like indicators, entry rules, stop losses, and position sizing. Assessing metrics like profit factor, win rate, risk-reward ratio, maximum drawdown, and more gives insights into strategy performance.

No strategy succeeds in all market conditions, but effective backtesting provides confidence in your edge. It also highlights any weaknesses to address. Disciplined traders continually backtest strategies and refine them over time as market dynamics evolve.

Implement Good Risk Management

Success in forex trading boils down to maximizing profits while minimizing losses. Even the best technical strategy will suffer losing streaks. Managing risk is essential to long-term viability.

Position sizing based on a percentage of capital helps limit losses on any single trade. Most experts recommend risking 1-2% of capital per position as a sustainable approach. Stop losses exit trades at predefined levels before losses escalate. Planning profit targets also locks in gains.

Adhering to risk management rules prevents emotional trading and huge drawdowns that can wipe out accounts. Patience and discipline are required to follow your strategy, accept small losses, and let profitable trades run.

Mastering technical analysis provides a framework for developing winning forex strategies. Focus on interpreting key indicators, backtesting rigorously, and implementing strong risk management for lasting success. With dedication to continuous improvement, traders can achieve consistent profits in the global forex market.

Mnangagwa Fires Two Top Security Bosses In One Week

By Munacho Gwamanda- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired two high-ranking security officials within a week.

He has just fired the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) Director-General Isaac Moyo and replaced him with Fulton Mangwanya, who was heading the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.

This development is seen as his attempt to further consolidate his grip on the security apparatus amid growing tensions with his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

On December 31, Mnangagwa retired Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga, appointing Stephen Mutamba as his replacement.

Both Matanga and Moyo were appointed to their positions shortly after the November 2017 coup that ousted long-time leader Robert Mugabe.

The coup, engineered by Mnangagwa and spearheaded by Chiwenga, catapulted Mnangagwa to power.

However, the two leaders have since drifted apart, with Mnangagwa systematically sidelining Chiwenga’s allies in the security sector.

Matanga and Moyo, considered close confidants of Chiwenga, join a growing list of senior military and security officials purged by Mnangagwa.

Analysts view these moves as part of a broader strategy to weaken Chiwenga’s influence.

Since taking office, Mnangagwa has manoeuvred to diminish Chiwenga’s power base, which initially relied on key military figures who played pivotal roles in the 2017 coup.

Major General Sibusiso Moyo, the face of the coup, and Air Force Commander Perrence Shiri, both staunch Chiwenga allies, died under mysterious circumstances, further isolating the vice president.

Chiwenga is believed to have entered into an agreement with Mnangagwa in 2017, allowing him to succeed Mnangagwa after two terms.

However, Mnangagwa’s recent actions signal intentions to retain power beyond the agreed timeline, deepening mistrust within Zanu PF’s top leadership.

Mnangagwa Sneaks Back Into Harare To Fire State Security Bosses While On Holiday

Controversy Erupts Over State Security Changes Amid Leadership Dispute.

In the still of the holiday hush, where the air seemed serene,

…………………

https://x.com/zimeye/status/1875366843499888986?s=46

A shadow crept through Harare, swift and unseen.

While the nation believed the President was at rest,

A masterstroke unfolded—silent, but addressed.

Emmerson Mnangagwa, the cunning “Crocodile,

Slipped back to the capital, cloaked in his guile.

No sun-soaked retreat, no respite from the fray,

But a sharp and sudden strike to clear his chosen way.

With a pen as his weapon and power in his hand,

He ousted two titans, reshaping the land.

The police chief and spy master were sent out the door,

A move whispered in halls, a political uproar.

As the echoes of his actions ripple through the streets,

Questions rise like the sun in Zimbabwe’s heat:

Was this a show of strength or a breach of trust?

For in holiday shadows, power plays are discussed.

Govt announcement of another state security appointment

So now the nation watches, its gaze sharp and keen,

For the Crocodile has stirred, though he was unseen.

A holiday’s illusion, a leader’s sleight of hand—

In Harare, the game unfolds, unplanned.

In a dramatic turn of events, political tensions have flared in the aftermath of recent high-profile changes within Zimbabwe’s state security sector. The removal of Police Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga and Central Intelligence Organization Director-General Isaac Moyo has sparked controversy, with prominent political figure Cde Nyokaye Mabhunu accusing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of overstepping his authority.

Speaking to reporters, Mabhunu stated that the reshuffling of key security officials should have been undertaken by Vice President Kembo Mohadi, who is believed to be acting as the de facto leader while Mnangagwa is supposedly on leave. “These decisions should have come from Mohadi. Instead, Mnangagwa is making unilateral moves while he is supposed to be on holiday,” Mabhunu said.

The comments come amidst growing speculation about the internal dynamics within the ruling ZANU-PF party. Mabhunu also criticized state media coverage of the events, singling out The Herald, Zimbabwe’s state-controlled newspaper, for allegedly misrepresenting the facts. “Everything that The Herald is publishing is misleading and totally false,” he said, raising questions about the transparency of information being disseminated to the public.

The recent firings and appointments in the security sector have added fuel to ongoing debates about governance and power consolidation in Zimbabwe. Mnangagwa’s decision to oversee these changes despite being on leave has drawn criticism from within his party, with some accusing him of sidelining Mohadi and violating protocol.

Analysts suggest the controversy reflects deeper fractures within the ruling party, with factions vying for control ahead of potential political realignments. Meanwhile, the public remains divided, with some applauding the shake-up as a necessary step toward reform, while others view it as a sign of instability at the highest levels of government.

Efforts to obtain an official response from the government regarding Mabhunu’s claims have so far been unsuccessful. However, the developments are expected to dominate political discourse in the coming days as Zimbabweans await clarity on the country’s leadership and security priorities.

This story is developing. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

With his songs gaining traction online, Maskiri is clearly poised for a strong return to the urban charts, further cementing his place in the Zim hip-hop scene.

G40 Panicking Over State Security Appointments

Dear Editor.
Have you noticed that the G40 faction is in sixes and sevens over the recent political move by ZANU PF President. In yet another master stroke of strategic planning and deployment President ED Mnangagwa has left the G40 in a serious panic.

Following the announcement of the retirement of the Commissioner General of Police, the G40-aligned COZWA fabricated a narrative claiming that the former Commissioner had openly defied President Emmerson Mnangagwa by refusing to be retired. This prompted an official police statement aimed at quelling the falsehoods stirred by G40 aligned COZWA.

Walter Mzembi’s message

COZWA was not alone in trying to sow confusion and discord over the appointments. Walter Mzembi, a prominent G40 kingpin, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his views on the newly appointed officials, particularly Dr. Fulton Upenyu Magwanya, who has been described as a career intelligence officer. Mzembi’s post reads: “Career Intelligence Officers will be pleased with the appointment of Dr. Fulton Upenyu Magwanya, a sober and disciplined Civil Servant. Looking forward to more professional reporting not concocted reports targeting personalities and creating non-existent enemies of the State. Fulton brought much-needed sanity in Parks & Wildlife. Well done @edmnangagwa.”

Kasukuwere posting

While Mzembi’s approval of Magwanya marks an apparent endorsement of the new direction under the President, it raises eyebrows given his history of swiftly reversing support. Mzembi, whose stateless predicament has him floating between various countries, is known for praising appointees only to later attack them when it suits his agenda. Notably, he previously lauded John Mushayavanhu’s appointment as Governor of the Reserve Bank before launching into personal jabs against Mushayavanhu.

String of rapid posts by Tyson

Adding to the tumult, Saviour Kasukuwere, self-proclaimed President of the G40, opted for sarcasm in response to the reshuffles. He posted an image of a luxurious bottle of Macallan whisky accompanied by the caption, “This is the most expensive whisky and has a key role in the governance of countries. Some get fired or promoted at elite drinking binges in the farms around our good country. Good day MaCitizens.” His mocking tone underscores the displeasure and the displeasure of G40 over the appointments.

As members of the G40 grapple with the implications of these appointments, it is clear that this upheaval means any influence of the G40 within the government will never return. Observers note that the mounting criticisms and backdoor scheming by G40 are symptomatic of a dead faction scrambling to retain its relevance amid a changing political environment.

Government Imposes Fishing Ban at Lake Chivero Amid Environmental Crisis

By A Correspondent

The government has enforced a ban on fishing at Lake Chivero until comprehensive investigations by the Ministry of Health and Child Care are concluded. The ban follows a significant environmental disaster, with reports of water contamination leading to the loss of wildlife and aquatic life in the area.

At a media briefing held at Munhumutapa Building in Harare on Thursday, Dr. Sithembiso Nyoni, the Minister of Environment, Climate, and Wildlife, spoke candidly about the crisis. She labeled the situation at Lake Chivero as critical and emphasized the need for an integrated approach to address the severe pollution and ecological disruptions affecting the lake.

“Going forward, we will rope in the Ministry of Health to do the finding because we want to save lives. The ban cannot be lifted now and a whole of government and stakeholders’ approach is required to reverse the situation at Chivero,” stated Minister Nyoni.

The fishing ban comes after alarming reports of poisoning in the water, which has caused widespread damage to both animal and aquatic populations. While the Ministry of Environment has been at the forefront of managing the crisis, questions are being raised about the adequacy of government actions.

Critics argue that the government’s shifting of responsibility onto the Ministry of Health highlights a failure to address the root causes of the disaster effectively. Many believe that the continued environmental degradation at Lake Chivero could have been prevented with earlier and more decisive action. The shifting of blame has left some questioning the government’s ability to handle such a major environmental catastrophe.

Finding the Best Forex Brokers with High Leverage

If you want to trade foreign currencies, you’ll need to understand the economies and politics of different countries, global trends, and the impact of prices in the market—trading loss caused by a lack of knowledge on how to select proper leverage.

A forex broker with high leverage, such as 1:5000 leverage brokers, allows traders to borrow more money than they have in their accounts. This increases the potential for larger profits. Leverage can range from 1:20 to 1:10000. Let’s explore the article in detail.

What Is Leverage

Leverage is a loan offered by brokers to traders; they can trade bigger than their actual deposit.

As a result, leverage multiplies your beginning capital. Brokers offer maximum leverage, and traders can get leverage how much they want. It is suitable for experienced and beginner traders working with brokers with high leverages.

When you begin with low leverage as a newer trader, it is essential to partner with a broker that will enable you to raise this leverage as you develop gradually. Thus, even though utilizing high leverage initially can be harmful, it is beneficial to understand that you can slowly boost it while collaborating with the same broker.

Advantages And Disadvantages of Leverage

Here are some advantages and a few disadvantages of leverage below:

Increased Profit Potential

You can trade with more money because of the leverage it offers you. You can aim for higher profits on a successful trade with more enormous amounts.

Ability To Diversify

Access to more funds enables traders to engage in additional markets and diversify their investments. Taking positions in several assets can be challenging when starting with limited capital. Nevertheless, by utilizing leverage, traders can enter the currency, cryptocurrency, commodities, and precious metals markets, thereby distributing their risk.

Increased Loss Potential

If you’re trading with bigger leverage with a high amount, you can also take a risk. While you can earn profit more, you can also lose more. This leverage may be tricky for beginners if they do not understand trading carefully. If you want to use it safely, you should need risk management with an innovative trading plan.

Margin Calls

With leverage, traders face margin calls, possibly pushing them to close positions prematurely. If a large trade goes against you, your broker may ask you to add more funds to keep the position open. If you do not do this, you may be forced to close a still in progress trade.

Managing Risk with High Leverage

Although you can get a large profit through leverage, you take a risk with it too. The only way to make leverage work for you is to control risk. This involves creating a clear exit strategy for trades that go bad. Most traders may prevent big losses that can blow up their accounts or result in margin calls by employing effective exit strategies.

  • A stop loss exits you from a losing trade at a predetermined price. You can employ a standard stop loss or one that follows your position.
  • Meanwhile, take-profit orders enable you to close positions that are winning. This allows you to prevent sudden collapses, which could turn the transaction into a loss. Traders can employ a single take profit at a specified price.

Conclusion

In conclusion, high leverage in forex trading is a powerful way to earn more profit but it also comes with risks. For risk management, you should have sloid understand of trading and make strategies for trading.  You can start trading with lower leverage as a beginner and increase it gradually as you gain experience.

Prioritize Safety: Avoid Speeding

Chivayo Surprises Airport Woman with USD 5000 After Controversial Incident

By A Correspondent

Controversial Zanu PF businessman Wicknell Chivayo has made headlines again, this time by giving away USD 5000 to a woman who was left out after he distributed money to airport staff during a recent visit to Victoria Falls. The incident, which caused an online stir, has sparked both criticism and a surprising act of generosity from Chivayo.

Chivayo explained the situation in a statement, acknowledging the misunderstanding that led to the woman’s embarrassment. “From VICTIM to VICTORY…” he began, addressing the “unfortunate criticism” directed at the woman in the viral video. “My attention has been drawn to the unfortunate criticism directed at the woman in the video circulating on social media, who did not receive USD 100 like other airport staff during my recent visit to Victoria Falls.”

The businessman explained that during his trip, he had decided to show gratitude to the airport staff who were on duty during the Christmas holiday. “As I prepared to board my private jet back to Harare in the company of my beautiful and beloved partner, I felt deeply moved by the airport staff who were on duty, sacrificing time with their families during Christmas time. Out of gratitude and compassion, I decided to bless the staff wearing green reflective vests with USD 100 each as a small token of appreciation.”

However, things took a turn when other people, including the woman, mistakenly approached Chivayo for money. “Unfortunately, this kind gesture was misunderstood, and other non-staff members, including the woman in question, began to join in, leading to the regrettable incident,” he explained.

In the video that went viral, the woman in a pink top and blue jeans was seen trying to get her share, but after Chivayo realized that she wasn’t part of the airport staff, he stopped giving out money. The woman was left out, which led to her making frantic requests to receive USD 100. “When I stopped giving out the money, the woman in the pink top and blue jeans was unfortunately left out, despite making frantic requests to also get the USD.”

Chivayo expressed regret over the situation, which led to the woman facing online ridicule. “This incident has regrettably subjected her to online ridicule and derogatory comments. I personally don’t know this woman, but I wish to extend my heartfelt apology for the public embarrassment she has endured, as well as to her family and husband, if she is married,” he said.

He acknowledged the woman’s actions, stating that he understood why she approached him. “I understand her actions. I would have done exactly the same thing if I saw a millionaire giving money in that context. This woman simply decided to seize the opportunity out of hope and necessity.”

In a gesture to make amends, Chivayo offered a significant amount of money. “As a small gesture of my goodwill and token of apology for the unfortunate incident, please urgently contact my lawyer, Mr. Sikhumbuzo Mpofu of Munangate & Associates and collect USD 5000 cash for the reputational damage this incident has caused,” Chivayo announced. “I wish you and your family a prosperous 2025!”

This move from Chivayo, who is known for his controversial public image, marks an unexpected resolution to a situation that sparked both public derision and a surprising act of kindness.

Fear Grips Kariba as Lions Roam Free

By A Correspondent

Residents of Kariba have been strongly advised to stay away from bush pathways, particularly at night, following reports of two lionesses crossing the main road into a nearby bush corridor near Summerset Road.

Debbie Ottman, spokesperson for the Kariba Animal Welfare Trust Fund, issued a warning to the community, urging caution in light of the recent sighting. “It is vital to walk in groups of at least two or more individuals and to stay on the main roads, avoiding pathways through the bush, particularly at night,” Ottman advised in an interview with NewsDay.

Kariba, situated within a wildlife area teeming with lions and other predators, poses unique risks for both residents and visitors. Ottman emphasized the importance of vigilance and added that anyone who spots a lion should report it promptly. “

Reporting sightings helps us monitor their movements and ensures the safety of the community,” she said.

With the presence of wildlife in the area, Ottman’s advice serves as a crucial reminder for everyone to stay alert and prioritize safety when moving around at night.

Ex-Political Prisoner Celebrates Abolition of Death Penalty

Last Maengahama, a former political prisoner, has hailed the abolition of the death penalty as a significant relief and a monumental step forward for Zimbabwe. In a recent statement, he expressed his heartfelt approval of the government’s decision to end capital punishment.

“This is a huge relief for me personally,” said Maengahama, who was once a councillor for the Movement for Democratic Change. “As an ex-political prisoner who narrowly escaped the hangman’s noose, I could have been an innocent person wrongfully sent to the gallows. Since then, I have dedicated myself to advocating for the abolition of the death penalty.”

The government’s recent announcement on Friday that the death penalty would be removed from Zimbabwe’s justice system was met with praise from human rights advocates, and Maengahama is among the most vocal supporters. He continued, “I wholeheartedly welcome the abolition of the death penalty in Zimbabwe’s justice system. It is a long-overdue and pivotal move toward a more just and humane society.”

His words echo the broader sentiment of those who have fought for years to see an end to capital punishment in the country. For Maengahama, this victory is not just a personal triumph, but a testament to the power of perseverance in the face of systemic injustice.

The 2030 Agenda: A Case Of Drinking from a Poisoned Chalice

The 2030 Agenda, touted as a blueprint for Zimbabwe’s prosperity, has been shrouded in controversy.

Behind the facade of development and progress lies a more sinister reality. This article exposes the truth behind the 2030 Agenda, a proposed constitutional amendment designed to perpetuate the current president’s grip on power until 2030.

President Mnangagwa’s intentions are shrouded in mystery, as he publicly denies clinging to power while his loyalists secretly push for a term extension. A slogan is making the rounds at party gatherings, chanting “2030 vaMnangagwa vanenge vachiripo” – insinuating that President Mnangagwa will still be in office by 2030.

Despite this, Mnangagwa has publicly denied any intentions of overstaying his welcome, explicitly telling supporters to cease chanting the slogan.

President Mnangagwa’s repeated denials of seeking to extend his term beyond 2028 have failed to quell concerns about his true intentions. His actions suggest a calculated strategy to consolidate power, silence opposition, and maintain a facade of legitimacy.

Having fortified his position by appointing a cabinet comprised exclusively of loyalists, Mnangagwa has created a formidable barrier against potential threats to his agenda. By systematically removing non-loyalists from key positions, he eliminated opposition within his own party.

President Mnangagwa’s strategy of bankrolling his allies has led to a surge in corruption and cronyism in Zimbabwe. This approach has created a culture of patronage where loyalty is rewarded over merit, resulting in widespread poverty, inequality, and human rights abuses.

Mnangagwa’s loyalists, including businessman Wicknell Chivhayo, are testing the waters for a potential term extension while maintaining plausible deniability. Chivhayo’s ties to Mnangagwa raise concerns about his involvement in illicit deals and evasion of justice.

The 2030 agenda is the current administration’s centerpiece, with policies crafted to make it a reality. The Mutapa Fund, linked to Mnangagwa’s 2030 agenda, sparks concerns about its intentions. Critics argue it consolidates power, rewards loyalty, and entrenches cronyism and corruption. Channeling resources through the fund may bypass oversight, raising questions about transparency and accountability.

Beneath its enticing façade, the 2030 agenda conceals a sinister reality. This seemingly lucrative blueprint for prosperity is, in truth, a poisoned chalice. Those who dare to take a sip will inevitably succumb to its toxic consequences, including betrayal, jealousy, deceit, corruption, cronyism, and a blatant disregard for accountability.

As the crocodile’s cunning nature dictates, nothing he does should be taken at face value. His actions are calculated, his words laced with deception. To survive, one must peer beyond the veil of deceit and confront the harsh reality that lies beneath.

Perhaps those drinking from the poisoned chalice should ask themselves this hard question; ‘2030 vaMnangagwa vanenge varipo, ko isu?’

Mnangagwa Displaces Chiwenga Old Guards, Builds His Own Loyal Junta

By Political Reporter – President Emmerson Mnangagwa promoted 27 Air Force of Zimbabwe officers on Thursday, strengthening his hold on power by building a military loyal to his agenda.

Among those promoted were two Air Commodores, 11 Group Captains, and 16 Wing Commanders, though one Air Commodore and one Group Captain are currently on duty abroad.

Air-Force-Promotions

The promotion ceremony took place at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks in Harare, where Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede emphasised the importance of performance-based appointments as a cornerstone of Vision 2030.

“The President and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces has underscored performance-based appointments as key enablers in attaining Vision 2030,” Nzvede stated. “There is no room for chancers in the Air Force of Zimbabwe; the promoted officers must justify their elevation through exceptional performance.”

Nzvede further challenged the officers to tackle national challenges with innovation and leadership, signalling the Air Force’s critical role in Mnangagwa’s broader plans.

Mnangagwa’s moves to restructure the military reflect a broader strategy to consolidate power while neutralising potential threats, particularly those aligned with his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Chiwenga, who spearheaded the 2017 military coup that ousted Robert Mugabe and installed Mnangagwa, reportedly had an agreement to succeed Mnangagwa after two terms.

However, Mnangagwa’s actions suggest plans to retain power indefinitely.

Following the coup, Mnangagwa systematically eliminated Chiwenga’s key military allies.

Major General Sibusiso Moyo, who announced the coup, and Perrence Shiri, the former Air Force Commander, both died under mysterious circumstances, leaving Chiwenga increasingly isolated.

Mnangagwa’s recent promotions appear aimed at building a military cartel loyal to him, sidelining officers with ties to Chiwenga.

This mirrors tactics used by his predecessor, Robert Mugabe, who relied on the military to consolidate power but ultimately fell victim to a coup.

As Mnangagwa strengthens his grip, his actions underscore Zimbabwe’s enduring political

Sonja Chivayo Celebrates “God Was in It!” Over Wicknell

By Dorrothy Moyo | ZimEye| In a dramatic twist in the saga involving tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo and his ex-wife Sonja, the latter has thrown what she described as a “God was in it!” Eureka celebration, accusing Chivayo of harassment and betrayal. The couple, who share two children, separated amidst public and private turmoil, and Sonja now claims that the tenderpreneur’s true net worth will soon be revealed — a revelation she expects to secure her rightful share.

Speaking from her bedside, an emotional but resolute Sonja revealed the depth of her betrayal, alleging that Chivayo is now engaged to one of her friends — a woman she had once welcomed into her home and cooked scones for.

“For a big betrayal. It’s coming,” Sonja declared. “Then all of this happened, um, so again, God was in it. So I’m not even worried, you know? I just want to say I really appreciate everyone who stood by me. I really appreciate my friends and the family that I’ve had this year.

“Guys, I’ve had so many people who’ve made the journey easier. I think I was more emotionally involved than I should have been in this separation. You know, like I used to be like, what does this mean? Why is he doing this? But now, isn’t it 2024? Ain’t none of that. Give me my check so I can move on. That’s where I’m at. That’s the energy I’m at.

“And guys, we need to just rally behind that now — settlement, settlement, settlement — so that he can move on freely with his life.”

Sonja’s allegations have set social media ablaze, with many eagerly anticipating the potential exposure of Chivayo’s financial dealings. While the flamboyant businessman has not yet responded to these explosive claims, the situation has reignited public curiosity about the couple’s high-profile relationship and its acrimonious end.

Observers note that this latest development could signal a turning point in the ongoing legal and personal battles between the two. Sonja’s insistence on finalizing a settlement suggests she is ready to leave the chapter behind, albeit on her terms.

The public now waits to see how Chivayo will respond to these damning accusations — and whether Sonja’s celebration will mark the start of her long-awaited closure.

He was being sought for 10 offences including murder, attempted murder, robbery, unauthorised possession of firearm and escape from lawful custody.

Musoyi, whose origins in Zimbabwe are yet to be established fled from police custody after outsmarting two police officers.

“The provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hails the collaborative efforts between Saps  Sekhukhune Task Team, Operation Vala Umgodi Multidisciplinary Team as well as private security who worked tirelessly to track the most evasive  fugitive which had been on the run after escaping from police custody, after attacking and disarming two police officers in Motetema,” Saps said in a statement.

Heavy Army Presence at the Tagwirei-Sponsored SDA Crossover Party

By A Correspondent| The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church’s highly anticipated crossover party, held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on December 31, 2024, was marked by a heavy presence of army and police personnel.

This unusual security deployment raised eyebrows, with speculation rife that authorities sought to preempt potential disruptions from fans of popular musician Winky D, whose own crossover show at the same venue had been controversially canceled.

The event, sponsored by businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei’s Bridging Gaps Foundation, attracted widespread attention following revelations that a substantial sum of US$245,000 was paid to secure the venue, effectively blocking Winky D’s planned performance.

The decision led to public outcry, with the musician’s fans accusing authorities and Tagwirei of collusion to suppress artistic freedom and dissent.

Uniformed and plainclothes police, supported by military personnel, were stationed at strategic points around the HICC, creating a tense atmosphere.

While official reasons for the heightened security presence were not provided, sources within the security establishment suggested that authorities feared protests or attempts by Winky D fans to disrupt the event.

One attendee described the scene as “unprecedented for a church event,” adding, “It felt like we were attending a political rally rather than a spiritual gathering.”

Despite the controversy and heavy security, the SDA crossover party reportedly proceeded without incident. Thousands of congregants gathered to usher in the New Year with sermons, prayers, and musical performances.

Why South Africans are Turning to Forex Trading for Financial Growth

Over the last decade, retail forex trading has grown into a major financial activity for South Africans. The foreign exchange (forex) market offers opportunities for South Africans to supplement or potentially replace traditional income sources. While trading does carry risks, its flexibility and income potential continue to draw new participants.

Key Factors Driving the Popularity of Forex Trading

A confluence of economic, technological, regulatory and social factors has contributed to the popularity of forex trading South Africa:

Economic Conditions and Aspirations

A growing middle class with financial literacy has emerged in South Africa’s developing economy. This demographic seeks new opportunities to build wealth and gain financial freedom outside traditional employment. Forex trading allows South Africans to participate in global financial markets with relatively low barriers to entry.

Accessibility and Flexibility

The forex market’s 24/5 accessibility provides convenience and flexibility unmatched by traditional investments. South Africans can trade while maintaining school, jobs, and family responsibilities. Many traders start small-scale, devoting more time as skills and income develop. This flexibility makes trading extremely appealing, particularly for the youth and unemployed.

Geographic Advantage

Located between major trading hubs in Asia, Europe, and North America, South Africa resides in an optimal time zone to access liquid forex sessions. Active traders can potentially find opportunities any time of day. This maximizes options for South Africans to trade during their preferred hours.

Technology Removing Barriers

Advances in internet and mobile technology now enable South Africans, even in remote areas, to access trading platforms, apps, and educational resources. Previously prohibitive barriers to participating in global financial markets have been eliminated through tech.

Supportive Regulation

South Africa’s Financial Sector Conduct Authority oversees the forex industry, ensuring ethical handling of trader funds. This regulatory oversight gives South Africans the confidence to trade through reputable brokers. Regulation also attracts major international brokers to offer services locally.

Potential for High Returns

The possibility of leverage amplified profits attracts traders seeking to quickly grow capital. However, leverage also increases risk, making education on proper risk management essential. Despite the risks involved, the potential rewards convince many South Africans to explore forex trading.

Trading the South African Rand

The volatile South African Rand provides local traders an edge. Familiarity trading USD/ZAR and other rand pairs allows seasoned South African traders to capitalize on swings. The rand’s legal tender status across southern Africa also increases its trading volumes globally.

Lower Barriers to Education

A vast range of free educational materials, tutorials, and demo accounts are now accessible online in South Africa. Aspiring traders can learn forex basics without large investments through these resources. Forex education is now available to South Africans across the country.

The Influence of Social Media

Success stories spread through social media have motivated many South Africans to try forex trading. While these stories tend to exaggerate, they portray trading as an exciting path to wealth and freedom. Active online communities also engage new traders, providing discussion, tips, and encouragement.

A Great Opportunity

For South Africans seeking alternative income streams outside traditional employment, forex presents an enticing opportunity. Although certainly risky, the market’s flexibility, potential rewards, and low barriers to entry will likely continue attracting new traders looking to achieve financial freedom.

Is VP Chiwenga Clever By Believing ED’s Claim that Marry’s Guilty Of Attempted Murder?

Is VP Constantino Chiwenga clever when he believes Auxillia and Emmerson Mnangagwa’s claims that Marry tried to kill her husband something which doctors and the SA hospital say is a lie? Assuming that were true, which husband did ZANU PF member Silvia Maphosa try to kill when Mnangagwa’s bodyguards shot her dead falsely accusing her of being a Chamisa supporter on 1 Aug 2018, just so he (Mnangagwa) can return to State House?

Which husband did Mnangagwa’s Harare girlfriend try to kill when her body was found mutilated in her own flat in 2014?

Which husband did the thousands of Matebele women try to kill when Mnangagwa ordered the killings in the 1980s?

Top Zanu PF Official Praises Ian Smith

By A Correspondent

Killer Zivhu, a former ZANU PF member and ex-Member of Parliament for Chivi South, has expressed admiration for the strategic foresight of Ian Smith’s administration, highlighting a key difference between the current government and the colonial-era regime.

Zivhu stated that Smith excelled in long-term planning, an area he believes the current ZANU PF government should focus on improving.

“There’s a stark difference between us and them,” Zivhu remarked. “They focused on long-term plans, thinking 100 years ahead, while we tend to concentrate on immediate concerns like Christmas and elections.”

Zivhu emphasized that the ruling party needs to shift its approach and adopt a more forward-thinking strategy, noting, “We need to embrace a more futuristic mindset to bridge the gap.”

His comments come amidst ongoing debates about whether Ian Smith’s administration or the current leadership under President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been more effective. While many government officials and ZANU PF supporters have dismissed any comparison between Smith and Mnangagwa as an insult to Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle, Zivhu’s remarks suggest a different perspective on governance and planning.

Mandla Mpofu Returns Home After Struggling in Botswana Premier League

Sports Correspondent

Former Highlanders head coach Mandla Mpofu has reflected on his time in the Botswana Premier League after his departure from Sua Flamingoes just before the festive season break.

Unlike his compatriots Madinda Ndlovu and the late Rahman Gumbo, who left a lasting legacy in Botswana’s top league, Mpofu faced significant challenges in making his mark.

Mpofu was dismissed by Sua Flamingoes following a series of disappointing results that saw the team drop to fourth place, with just 13 points from 12 games.

Now back in Zimbabwe, Mpofu is focusing on new opportunities. “I had a good time in Botswana. It was a valuable learning experience, and I was happy with the team’s environment and the results we achieved. Before my departure, we were in fourth position, 12 points behind the leaders. Now I’m back home, supporting Tshisa’s junior development initiative,” Mpofu shared.

Before his tenure at Sua Flamingoes, the former Highlanders boss also had an unproductive spell with another Botswana club, Masitaoka.

The Undertaker Seeks Delay of ZIFA Elections Amid Appeal

By A Correspondent

The much-anticipated ZIFA elections, scheduled for January 25, could face a significant delay following reports that one of the disqualified presidential candidates, Benjani “The Undertaker” Mwaruwari, has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Mwaruwari, along with Walter Magaya, Farai Jere, and Themba Mliswa, was barred from contesting the elections after failing to meet the required eligibility criteria. Mwaruwari, in particular, was disqualified due to not having the necessary five “O” Levels.

However, it is now reported that Mwaruwari has formally appealed this disqualification to CAS, which could lead to the postponement of the elections until the legal process is resolved. If the appeal is upheld, the elections may be delayed until further notice.

Mnangagwa Friend Listed Among Corrupt Leaders In The World

By A Correspondent

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) has released its annual report, ranking Kenyan President William Ruto as the second most corrupt leader globally.

The report, which assesses corruption and organized crime across various governments, has drawn attention to widespread allegations of corruption involving top officials within Ruto’s administration.

The OCCRP’s findings have raised serious concerns about the extent of corruption within Kenya’s political elite, with specific focus on reports of embezzlement, misuse of public funds, and ties to corrupt business practices.

Despite Ruto’s promises to fight corruption and uphold transparency, his government has been embroiled in multiple scandals, which have tarnished his reputation and raised questions about the effectiveness of his anti-corruption efforts.

The ranking places Ruto just behind other global figures often associated with corruption, and this development is expected to lead to increased international pressure for accountability in his administration. Critics argue that this high rank highlights the urgent need for comprehensive reforms to address corruption at the highest levels of government in Kenya.

Government Confirms Schools Opening Dates

By Munacho Gwamanda- The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has reaffirmed that schools will officially open for the first term of 2025 on Tuesday, January 14, with the term set to conclude on Thursday, April 10.

This clarification follows a wave of misinformation circulating on social media claiming that schools would reopen earlier on Monday, January 6.

In a press statement issued on December 31, 2024, the Ministry urged the public to disregard these false claims and treat them with the contempt they deserve.

Officials emphasised that the official school calendar remains unchanged, and no new directives have been issued.

The Ministry extended its gratitude to educators, parents, guardians, and stakeholders for their unwavering dedication and support throughout 2024.

It encouraged them to continue demonstrating the same level of commitment in the upcoming academic year.

While the Ministry lauded educators for their dedication, it comes against the backdrop of persistent challenges faced by teachers, including poor remuneration and inadequate working conditions.

Teachers have long decried their low salaries, which are often eroded by inflation, leaving many struggling to meet basic needs.

Despite these hardships, educators have shown remarkable resilience, continuing to prioritise their duties and deliver quality education to learners.

Teachers have resorted to various means to sustain themselves, with some taking on extra jobs or engaging in small businesses to supplement their meagre incomes.

This has not deterred their commitment to education, as many remain on the frontlines, ensuring that schools function effectively.

Chivhayo Extends US$5K To A Woman He Embarrassed In Vic-Falls

By Showbiz Reporter-Controversial businessman and Zanu PF apologist Wicknell Chivhayo has compensated a woman he embarrassed at Victoria Falls International Airport.

Disembarking his private jet alongside his new wife, Chivhayo, last week began handing out $100 notes to airport staff as a gesture of goodwill during the festive season.

However, chaos erupted when non-staff passengers joined the scramble for cash.

Among the unintended recipients was a woman in a pink top and blue jeans, who was publicly shamed after Chivhayo realized his mistake and denied her further money.

Despite her pleas, the incident, captured on video, went viral. Social media was awash with ridicule, with many questioning her morality for attempting to secure the cash.

Facing public backlash for his handling of the situation, Chivhayo Thursday, took to his X account and issued an apology offering compensation to the humiliated woman.

Labelling her experience a “trial turned triumph,” Chivhayo announced he had allocated $5,000 as a goodwill gesture to repair her damaged reputation.

In his post, Chivhayo stated:
“To this woman, I want you to know that in life, what may seem like a moment of humiliation can become a point of breakthrough… Please urgently contact my lawyer, Mr. Sikhumbuzo Mpofu of Munangate & Associates, and collect USD5000 cash for the reputational damage this incident has caused.”

Chivhayo’s flamboyant lifestyle and history of contentious dealings have long been under scrutiny.

From government contracts to unexplained sources of wealth, his every move seems to stir public debate.

While some commend his generosity, others view it as a calculated move to distract from his past controversies.

For now, the woman at the center of the storm has a chance to turn public ridicule into a tangible win, thanks to an apology steeped in both humility and spectacle.

Anger Management And Road Safety

Driving requires more than just the physical ability to operate a vehicle; it demands total concentration and a sense of calm. How you feel behind the wheel can significantly impact your safety and that of others on the road. Whether you’re feeling relaxed, anxious, or hot-tempered, your emotions affect your judgment, reaction times, and overall driving behavior.

It’s essential to recognize the profound influence emotions have on your driving and actively work to control them. Emotional reactions can alter your decision-making process, leading to dangerous maneuvers or poor judgment. For example, anxiety might cause you to overreact or hesitate, while anger could lead to aggressive driving and reckless behavior. Stress can cloud your focus, increasing the likelihood of mistakes.

The key to maintaining safety on the road lies in emotional regulation. Regardless of the emotional state you’re in, never allow your feelings to dictate your actions behind the wheel. Losing control can lead to dangerous situations, not only putting yourself and your passengers at risk but also endangering other drivers and pedestrians.

Here are a few strategies for managing emotions while driving:

  1. Practice Deep Breathing: If you feel stressed or anxious, take a moment to focus on your breathing. Deep breaths can help calm your mind and restore a sense of focus.
  2. Take Breaks When Needed: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s always better to pull over and take a short break. A few minutes away from the road can help you regain composure and clarity.
  3. Stay Calm in Traffic: Congested roads can be frustrating, but staying calm will help you make better decisions and avoid impulsive actions.
  4. Listen to Relaxing Music: Music can be a powerful tool for managing emotions. Choose calming tunes to reduce stress and help maintain a peaceful state of mind.
  5. Practice Patience: Remind yourself that delays and setbacks are a part of driving. Practicing patience will reduce the temptation to make hasty or risky decisions.

By recognizing the link between emotions and driving behavior, and by taking steps to manage your stress, you can significantly reduce the risk of accidents. Remember, driving is a responsibility that requires a clear mind and a calm demeanor. Never let emotions take the wheel.

Simba Bhora Boss Pulls Out Of ZIFA Polls?

Sports Correspondent

Simba Bhora president Simba “Buju” Ndoro has announced his withdrawal from the ZIFA executive committee elections, which are set to take place on January 25, 2025.

This decision comes despite Ndoro having successfully passed the ethics and integrity test, a key requirement for candidates seeking positions on the board.

Ndoro had initially entered the race for one of the six ordinary board member positions on the ZIFA executive committee, a highly anticipated election that has attracted considerable attention.

His decision to pull out has raised questions about his future involvement in Zimbabwean football governance.

While the reasons behind his withdrawal have not been fully disclosed, it is believed that Ndoro may have reassessed his position or faced challenges that led to his decision.

His exit leaves a vacancy for one of the board member positions, intensifying the competition among the remaining candidates.

The ZIFA executive committee election is expected to be a crucial event for the future direction of Zimbabwean football, with several high-profile figures and key players vying for leadership positions.

Mnangagwa Ditches War Veterans

By A Correspondent

A recent survey conducted by the Zanu PF Operation Restore Legacy Facebook page has highlighted the government’s failure to address the concerns of war veterans, with the performance of War Veterans Minister Monica Mavhunga drawing particularly harsh criticism.

The survey, published on Wednesday, offers a detailed analysis of her ministry’s performance, which has sparked growing dissatisfaction among former liberation fighters and their supporters.

The evaluation scores given to Minister Mavhunga’s handling of war veterans’ issues are alarming. According to the survey, her performance in key areas has been rated poorly, particularly in providing essential support and services to veterans of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle. The survey’s findings are as follows:

Support for Veterans: 2/10

Access to Healthcare for Veterans: 3/10

Pension & Financial Support: 2/10

Community Reintegration Programs: 0/10

Crisis Response: 1/10

This results in a dismal overall score of 1.6/10, further illustrating the extent to which war veterans feel neglected by the current administration. The survey’s authors also included a direct question to followers: “Do you agree???”

This question echoes the frustration of many Zimbabweans who feel that the government has not honored its promises to those who fought for the country’s independence.

The poor ratings for Minister Mavhunga come amid mounting complaints from war veterans regarding unmet promises and deteriorating conditions. Issues such as lack of healthcare, delayed pension payments, and insufficient community reintegration programs have been persistent concerns for this group.

Many war veterans, who are key supporters of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his government, are now expressing growing discontent.

The negative assessment of Mavhunga’s performance underscores a broader perception that the Mnangagwa administration has failed to meet the expectations of the nation’s war veterans.

Despite their role in Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle, veterans have complained about being sidelined in favor of other government priorities, leading some to question the government’s commitment to the very people who helped establish the nation’s independence.

The survey’s damning results reflect a growing rift between the government and war veterans, raising concerns about Mnangagwa’s leadership and his ability to address the grievances of one of the country’s most important constituencies.

As war veterans continue to voice their frustrations, the government may be forced to reassess its approach and find more effective ways to honor their sacrifices and support their welfare.
