Neymar Jr Speaks On Relationship With Mbappe At PSG

Sports Correspondent

Brazilian superstar Neymar has revealed that his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe became “jealous” of his close relationship with Lionel Messi.

The tension, Neymar claims, stemmed from Mbappe’s insecurity when Messi joined the French club in 2021.

Speaking on a podcast hosted by Brazilian legend Romario, Neymar reflected on the complicated dynamics between the three stars during their time together at PSG. Despite initial camaraderie,

Neymar admitted that he and Mbappe clashed, citing a “little fight” between them.

Neymar praised Mbappe’s early contributions to the team, saying he was “fundamental” and that he had always supported and encouraged the young French striker. However, Neymar believes that Mbappe’s behavior changed dramatically with Messi’s arrival.

Messi and Neymar had previously played together at Barcelona from 2013 to 2017, forging a strong bond. Neymar suggested that Mbappe felt threatened by their pre-existing relationship, leading to tension within the team.

The revelation sheds light on the challenges faced by PSG in integrating three of the world’s top players into a cohesive unit. Despite their individual brilliance, the trio struggled to gel, and the team’s performances suffered as a result.

Man Bashes Neighbour Over Biltong

By A Correspondent

In a shocking incident, Kholwani Ndlovu, a 38-year-old man from Kezi in Matabeleland South Province, has been sentenced to 350 hours of community service for severely attacking his neighbor, Polani Ngwenya, over stolen biltong.

Ndlovu pleaded not guilty to the assault charge but was convicted after trial. He was initially sentenced to 15 months imprisonment, with five months suspended on condition that he doesn’t commit any offense involving violence or force on a person. The remaining 10 months were suspended on condition that he performs community service at Kezi Magistrates’ Courts.

The court heard that Ndlovu confronted Ngwenya at his homestead on November 3 last year, accusing him of stealing biltong from a neighbor’s home. An argument ensued, and Ndlovu became furious, attacking Ngwenya with fists and stones. Ngwenya attempted to flee but was pursued and caught by Ndlovu, who inflicted further blows. Community members eventually restrained Ndlovu.

In a victim impact statement, Ngwenya expressed his trauma and financial loss due to the incident, requesting reimbursement for his medical bills. The magistrate emphasized that courts do not tolerate individuals who resort to violence to resolve disputes, advising people to engage pastors, police, or courts instead. The sentence aims to send a strong message to potential offenders, given the prevalence of assault cases in the area.

Zimpapers Fires Three Top Executives

Pikirayi Deketeke

By Munacho Gwamanda-The Zimbabwe Newspapers Group (Zimpapers) has dismissed three senior executives in a major shake-up widely linked to political interference in the state-controlled media.

Long-serving Chief Executive Officer Pikirayi Deketeke, Chief Finance Officer Farai Matanhire, and Chief Marketing Officer Tapuwa Mandimutsira have been relieved of their duties.

Veteran journalist William Chikoto has stepped in as the acting CEO.

Zimpapers, a publicly listed but government-controlled company, operates an expansive media empire that includes leading newspapers The HeraldSunday MailChronicle, and Sunday News

It also runs Star FM, Diamond FM, and Capitalk FM radio stations, as well as commercial printing services.

The leadership changes signal sweeping reforms across Zimpapers’ platforms, including its print, radio, and television operations.

These developments come against the backdrop of long-standing allegations of Zanu PF’s direct interference in theeditorial and operational independence of state media.

Zimpapers has often been accused of functioning as a propaganda arm for the ruling party, prioritizing its political agenda over journalistic integrity.

Critics argue that political meddling compromises the media house’s ability to operate as a credible source of information.

Efforts to obtain a comment from Deketeke were unsuccessful at the time of publication.

Are Zimbabweans Weaker Than Mozambicans? A Call for Perspective and Unity

In recent conversations, some have attempted to draw comparisons between Zimbabweans and Mozambicans, and between Zimbabwe’s opposition leader Nelson Chamisa and Mozambique’s Venâncio Mondlane. Critics argue that Chamisa and Zimbabweans are weaker in resolve and impact, but such assessments often miss the larger picture. Zimbabwe’s struggles and triumphs are unique, deeply rooted in its history, and deserving of recognition. This article seeks to challenge that notion and highlight the resilience and strength of Zimbabweans, while offering a way forward.

1. Chamisa’s Endurance: Standing Strong in the Face of Adversity

Nelson Chamisa has demonstrated extraordinary courage by staying in Zimbabwe through political storms, risking death, betrayal, and persecution. Unlike leaders who sought exile for safety, Chamisa chose to stay and confront one of the most oppressive regimes in modern African history. His choice symbolizes the strength of the Zimbabwean spirit—a determination to face challenges head-on, no matter the cost.

Critics who compare him unfavorably to other leaders, such as Venâncio Mondlane, often fail to recognize the context. Zimbabwe’s political terrain is riddled with institutionalized violence, corruption, and state-sponsored sabotage. Yet, under Chamisa’s leadership, Zimbabweans have stood firm, challenging a regime that has entrenched itself in power through fear and manipulation.

2. Zimbabweans vs. the Gold Mafia: A Battle Against Global Corruption

Zimbabweans have exposed and confronted some of the most sophisticated forms of corruption on the planet, such as the infamous “gold mafia.” This network of money laundering, election rigging, and economic sabotage operates on a global scale, but it is Zimbabweans who have brought its activities to light. This fight is not just for Zimbabwe but for the integrity of elections and governance across Africa and beyond.

Mozambicans, while courageous in their own struggles, have not faced the scale of international sabotage Zimbabweans have. The courage to unmask such powerful networks requires extraordinary strength, intelligence, and unity—qualities Zimbabweans continue to demonstrate despite the challenges.

3. Liberating Beyond Borders

Zimbabwe’s opposition has not only inspired local resistance but has also influenced liberation movements across the region. The fight against oppression in Zimbabwe has provided lessons, hope, and solidarity to those in neighboring countries facing similar struggles. This ripple effect of courage is a testament to Zimbabweans’ ability to lead by example, even under the harshest conditions.

4. Chamisa and Legal Battles: A Misunderstood Defeat

Critics often point out that Chamisa has lost court battles, portraying this as a sign of weakness. However, this overlooks the reality of Zimbabwe’s judiciary, which is widely seen as compromised and aligned with the ruling elite. Winning in such a system is nearly impossible, but the courage to fight within it, knowing the odds, demonstrates resilience and faith in justice. These so-called “losses” are not failures but a continuation of the broader struggle for democracy and fairness.

The Way Forward: Uniting for Change

To make things better, Zimbabweans must channel their energy and resilience into collective action. Here’s how:

1. Strengthen Unity: Zimbabweans must recognize that their strength lies in solidarity. Division only weakens the fight against oppression and corruption. A united front can overcome even the most entrenched systems of power.

2. Focus on Accountability: The fight against corruption, such as the gold mafia, must continue. Holding those in power accountable and exposing wrongdoing are critical steps toward a fair and just society.

3. Empower Communities: Grassroots movements and local initiatives can create change from the ground up. Zimbabweans must support one another in building sustainable communities and challenging oppressive structures.

4. Learn from Others: While Zimbabwe’s struggles are unique, lessons can be learned from neighboring countries like Mozambique. Sharing strategies and resources can strengthen the fight for democracy across the region.

5. International Advocacy: Zimbabweans must continue to garner international support, not just in words but in action. The global community must be held accountable for supporting oppressive regimes through trade, diplomacy, or inaction.

A Legacy of Strength

Zimbabweans are not weaker than Mozambicans—or anyone else. The context, challenges, and battles are different, but the resilience is the same. From unmasking international corruption to inspiring regional liberation, Zimbabweans have shown extraordinary strength under unimaginable circumstances.

The key now is to build on this strength, unite for a common purpose, and continue the fight for a better Zimbabwe. The journey is long and fraught with challenges, but the spirit of Zimbabweans—unyielding, brave, and determined—will prevail. Let history remember this as the era when Zimbabwe rose above all odds, setting an example for the world.

Gonyet Accident at Mutare Sign Shrine

In an unusual turn of events at the famous “Welcome to Mutare” landmark, a truck appears to have veered off the road and landed precariously on the beautifully landscaped hill at the entrance of the city. The crash, as captured in this viral image, has sparked both concern and laughter on social media, with many sharing lighthearted takes on the incident.

The truck is seen lodged on the slope, disrupting the greenery and the iconic “Welcome to Mutare” display. Workers in the picture are inspecting the scene, seemingly trying to assess the damage caused to the landscaping and the vehicle.

According to one user’s humorous comment shared online, “Aona pakanzi welcome to Mutare akatoti ndasvika,” loosely translating to, “When they saw the ‘Welcome to Mutare’ sign, they decided they had arrived!” Another commentator chimed in, asking the original poster to “stop making us laugh so much.”

While the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, road safety concerns near Mutare’s entrance have been raised in the past, especially regarding steep descents and sharp curves in the area. A visible warning sign in the picture reads “Steep Descent,” further highlighting the potential dangers of this stretch of road.

Authorities are yet to issue a statement, but the incident has ignited conversations about driver caution, infrastructure maintenance, and the risks posed by such scenic yet treacherous routes. Meanwhile, locals continue to find humor in the situation, turning what could have been a grim accident into a memorable talking point for Mutare.

While no injuries were reported at the time of the picture, this quirky event serves as both a reminder of road safety and a testament to the resilience of Zimbabweans in finding light moments even in serious situations.

Dynamos , ZIFA Clash Over Football Governance

Sports Correspondent

Dynamos Football Club has filed an urgent chamber application in the High Court of Zimbabwe, challenging recent decisions and governance structures within the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) and the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The application, which includes a request for a declaratory order, seeks to address what Dynamos believes are unlawful actions that undermine its constitutional governance and the broader integrity of football in Zimbabwe.

At the heart of the dispute is the ZIFA Congress meeting held on October 18, 2024, during which delegates passed resolutions to amend the ZIFA 2013 Constitution.

According to Dynamos Football Club, the congress was “not properly constituted” and the resolutions passed were “unlawful and null.”

The application highlights that the election of delegates, particularly those from Dynamos (Private) Limited, was irregular, thus calling into question the legitimacy of the entire AGM and the constitutionally dubious outcomes.

Dynamos Football Club, founded in 1963, argues that it has a direct and substantial interest in ensuring the lawful governance of its affairs. The club asserts that the ongoing involvement of Dynamos (Private) Limited in PSL and ZIFA matters is a violation of its rights as enshrined in the 1963 Constitution, and that “the formation and participation of Dynamos Football Club (Private) Limited in the PSL and ZIFA processes undermine the Applicant’s constitutional governance structure.”

Moreover, Dynamos has raised concerns about the upcoming ZIFA Executive Committee elections, scheduled for January 25, 2024. The club claims that the elections, held after the adoption of the amended ZIFA Constitution, risk perpetuating “illegality” due to the involvement of delegates from Dynamos (Private) Limited, among others, who may not have legitimate standing. This, Dynamos argues, would further entrench governance issues within the football association and jeopardize the integrity of the election process.

A key point in the application is the expired terms of certain ZIFA Congress Delegates, including those representing Dynamos. These expired terms, according to Dynamos, render the delegate’s participation in the AGM and subsequent decisions invalid. This situation is viewed by the club as a significant “procedural irregularity” that compromises the legitimacy of the meeting, warranting judicial intervention to suspend the actions of Dynamos (Private) Limited, PSL, and ZIFA until the matter is resolved.

In a further effort to protect its constitutional rights, Dynamos has called for a declaratory order that would nullify the actions and existence of Dynamos (Private) Limited.

The club contends that the continued recognition of the private entity by PSL and ZIFA threatens the preservation of its governance structures, potentially causing long-term harm.

“The governance crisis within the PSL and ZIFA, exacerbated by the actions of unauthorized entities, underscores the public importance of the matter,” Dynamos states in its application. The club argues that urgent judicial intervention is required to restore order, uphold the rule of law, and ensure that the governance of football in Zimbabwe remains transparent and accountable.

Dynamos Football Club’s application has sparked debate regarding the governance of football in the country and has brought attention to the broader issues of transparency and legitimacy within ZIFA and the PSL. The court’s decision on the matter is expected to have significant implications for the future of Zimbabwean football governance.

Warning: Never Cross Flooded Bridges

Recent heavy rainfall has caused many rivers, streams, and watercourses across Zimbabwe to swell, creating dangerous and unpredictable conditions on the roads.

Flooded bridges and rivers present significant risks, including sudden surges of water that can wash away vehicles, cause extensive damage, or, in the worst cases, lead to loss of life.

In Zimbabwe, where many regions are prone to seasonal rains and flooding, the risk of flooding is particularly high in rural and low-lying areas. When water levels rise, the strength and speed of currents can be deceiving.

Even shallow water can pose a serious hazard by eroding road surfaces or weakening the structural integrity of bridges. Additionally, submerged debris and hidden obstacles can further increase the dangers.

Attempting to cross flooded bridges or rivers can result in your vehicle being swept away or trapped, putting both you and any passengers at great risk.

To protect your safety, always avoid crossing flooded bridges and rivers in Zimbabwe, no matter how shallow the water may appear. If possible, take alternative routes or wait until floodwaters recede and local authorities confirm that the roads are safe.

Pay attention to road signs, warnings, and flood advisories from reliable sources such as the Zimbabwe Meteorological Services, local government, and emergency services.

It’s also important to stay informed in real-time. Use weather apps, listen to local news, and monitor flood alerts to ensure you are aware of any changes in road conditions. Plan your travel around potential flood-prone areas, especially during heavy rain events, and be aware of local reports on flood risks.

Remember, no destination is worth risking your life. Always prioritize your safety and make responsible decisions when driving in adverse weather conditions. Keep in mind that bridges and roads may look safe but can quickly become life-threatening during floods. Stay vigilant, stay safe, and avoid crossing flooded bridges and rivers in Zimbabwe.

By James Gwati-Veteran broadcaster Jane Esau, has died.

She was 91.

Her former colleagues told  ZimEye that Esau passed away at her home in Harare Saturday morning after a prolonged illness.

Born on June 25, 1933, in Penhalonga to a Manyika mother and a Malawian father, Esau’s illustrious journey began with her education at Old Umtali Mission, where she completed teacher training at Morgenster Mission.

President Chamisa’s Aide Leads Community Relief Efforts

By A Correspondent

Gift Ostallos Siziba, the spokesperson for Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa, is leading a critical community relief initiative in Bulawayo, following a devastating storm that severely affected the area earlier this week.

In a statement issued on Friday, Siziba provided details of the ongoing relief efforts in Ward 21, Sizinda, one of the hardest-hit areas.

“We have commenced relief efforts in Ward 21, Sizinda, Bulawayo where a devastating storm ravaged our constituency earlier this week,” Siziba said, highlighting the extent of the damage caused by the storm.

The storm left twenty homes with their roofs ripped off, displacing families and leaving them vulnerable.

Siziba expressed his gratitude for the swift and coordinated response from various stakeholders who have come together to provide urgent assistance to the affected families.

“We’re grateful for the swift response from different stakeholders, who joined forces with us to provide urgent assistance.

Together, we’re working tirelessly to ensure our community receives the support they deserve,” he added.

The relief efforts have included distributing essential supplies and mobilizing local support to restore the damaged homes. Siziba emphasized the importance of community solidarity during such challenging times, reinforcing the CCC’s commitment to putting the people first.

“For the people, with the people always. Asbonge,” he concluded, a phrase that resonates with the unity and resilience being demonstrated by both the affected communities and the relief teams.

Cryptocurrency Payment Cards, Credit and Debit Cards, and How They Work

As cryptocurrency continues to gain mainstream adoption, the tools for leveraging digital assets in daily life are expanding. One of the most significant developments is a cryptocurrency card, a financial instrument that bridges the gap between blockchain technology and traditional payment systems. These cards allow users to seamlessly spend their digital assets in everyday scenarios, combining the innovation of crypto with the convenience of familiar financial tools.

Crypto Credit Cards and Crypto Debit Cards Explained

A crypto debit card functions much like a traditional debit card. Users load funds onto the card by converting their cryptocurrency into fiat currency through the associated platform. This balance is then available for spending at any merchant that accepts card payments.

On the other hand, crypto credit cards operate as traditional credit cards but offer crypto-specific rewards. Instead of earning points or cash back, users can earn cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin, for every purchase. These cards do not directly deduct from a cryptocurrency wallet but rather allow users to make purchases on credit while accumulating crypto rewards.

How Cryptocurrency Credit Cards Work

Crypto credit cards are issued by financial institutions in partnership with cryptocurrency platforms. When using a credit card to make a purchase, the card issuer pays the merchant in fiat currency. At the end of the billing cycle, the user repays the issuer, either in fiat or, in some cases, directly in cryptocurrency.

For transactions, crypto rewards are calculated based on the card’s cashback or points rate. These rewards are then credited to the user’s account in the form of digital assets, enabling cardholders to passively accumulate cryptocurrency while using their credit cards for everyday spending.

It’s important to note that while some crypto credit cards may offer the option to repay balances directly with cryptocurrency, this feature is not universally available across all card issuers.

Crypto Card Benefits

Using crypto payment cards brings the following benefits:

  • Using crypto for everyday purchases. Cryptocurrency payment cards make it possible to spend Bitcoin and other digital assets at millions of merchants worldwide.
  • Cashback on crypto transactions. Many crypto cards offer competitive cashback rewards on purchases, with some providing higher rates for transactions in specific categories.
  • Earning crypto rewards. Instead of traditional rewards like airline miles or points, crypto cards allow users to earn cryptocurrency rewards. These rewards can grow in value over time, offering long-term financial benefits.
  • Simplified crypto spending. Spending Bitcoin with credit cards eliminates the complexities of manual conversions between crypto and fiat, providing a streamlined experience for users.

Cryptocurrency payment cards represent a significant step toward integrating blockchain technology into everyday life. Whether you’re interested in using crypto for everyday purchases, earning cashback on crypto transactions, or simply streamlining your financial activities, these cards offer a compelling solution.

President Chamisa Youth Taskforce Vows to Resist Mnangagwa’s Third-Term Bid

By A Correspondent

On January 17, 2025, the National Youth Taskforce, a group of youth aligned with opposition leader Nelson Chamisa, made a bold declaration against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s third-term ambitions.

In a statement that has drawn significant attention, the youth movement emphatically rejected any attempts to extend Mnangagwa’s presidency beyond his current term, labeling such efforts as part of a corrupt and illegitimate agenda.

“We, as the young people of Zimbabwe, united in our diversity, strongly condemn the attempts by the corrupt regime of Mr Mnangagwa and its allies to extend the illegitimate presidential term of office,” the Taskforce asserted.

This declaration aligns with their broader campaign to halt any moves that might allow Mnangagwa to hold onto power beyond his legally allowed tenure.

The group voiced frustration with the current state of governance in Zimbabwe, asserting that the nation is plagued by numerous issues under Mnangagwa’s leadership, including rampant corruption, human rights violations, and an economic crisis.

“Mnangagwa’s government has been characterized by rampant corruption, violation of human rights, unemployment, and a broken educational system in Zimbabwe – nothing is working,” the Taskforce noted.

They emphasized that these failures are a direct result of the government’s policies, which have exacerbated the daily struggles of ordinary Zimbabweans.

The youth group pointed to the August 2023 elections as a clear indication of the people’s rejection of Mnangagwa’s leadership. According to them, the election was a vote of no confidence in the current regime, with the people opting instead for Chamisa and his promise of a “People’s Government.” “This is why the people of Zimbabwe wholesomely rejected Mnangagwa and his outfit in August 2023 and confidently voted for President Chamisa with an intention to form a People’s Government,” they stated.

The Taskforce’s message is unequivocal: they will not remain passive while the country’s future is jeopardized. “We will not stand idly by while an illegitimate president who does not have a social contract with the people, attempts to extend the suffering of our nation,” the group declared. They stressed that such a move would only serve to prolong the country’s current crisis, including the mismanagement of public resources, a collapsing health system, and an economy in shambles.

In a rallying cry to the wider population, the Taskforce called on all “progressive forces” to join them in resisting Mnangagwa’s third-term ambitions. “We therefore call on all progressive forces to join us in rejecting this shameful agenda in its entirety and to work together towards a better future for our country,” the statement concluded. Their vision is clear: “A New and Great Zimbabwe for Everyone!”

The youth group’s firm stance against Mnangagwa’s third-term bid signals a growing momentum for opposition forces, who continue to challenge the current government’s legitimacy.

City Of Harare Dragged To Court Over Double Land Allocation

By A Correspondent| A Harare resident, Sabastine Gurajena, is suing the City of Harare, Thomas Kuwana, Kuattro Land Development (Private) Limited, and the Registrar of Deeds over alleged breaches of a 2017 sale agreement for Stand 969 Highlands Township.

In his court filing, Gurajena claims he entered into a valid agreement with the City of Harare for the purchase of the 3,200-square-meter undeveloped property. He fulfilled his financial obligations by paying the purchase price and related charges. However, he alleges the City of Harare subsequently sold the same property to Thomas Kuwana in 2018, leading to a chain of transfers that ultimately saw the property registered under Kuattro Land Development.

The plaintiff is demanding a declaratory order confirming the validity of his initial agreement with the city and seeks to have the subsequent sales and transfers canceled.

Gurajena also calls for the eviction of Kuattro Land Development and any other parties occupying the property, citing unlawful possession.

Adding to the stakes, Gurajena is claiming damages of $30 per day for loss of use of the property, with interest accruing from the date of the summons. He asserts that despite repeated demands, the City of Harare has failed to honor its contractual obligations or rectify the situation.

33 Zimbabweans Arrested After Being Retrieved From Abandoned Mine

By A Correspondent

A total of 33 Zimbabwean nationals are among 246 illegal miners who were retrieved and arrested during the South African government’s ongoing extraction operation at an abandoned mine in Stilfontein, North West. The operation, which began on Monday, has already led to the recovery of numerous miners and fatalities from the site.

Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the National Police spokesperson, confirmed the figures, stating that the operation at Shaft 11 of the old Buffelsfontein gold mine has been both intense and tragic. “A total of 78 dead bodies of illegal miners have been recovered at Shaft 11 of the old Buffelsfontein gold mine,” Mathe said, highlighting the scale of the illegal mining operation and the dangers miners face.

A breakdown of those arrested reveals a significant cross-border issue, with 128 Mozambicans, 80 Lesotho nationals, 33 Zimbabweans, and five South Africans among the detained individuals. On Monday, 26 miners were retrieved alive, and nine bodies were recovered. The following day, 106 more alive miners were found and arrested, alongside 51 additional bodies.

The operation, led by the South African Police Service (SAPS), aims to combat illegal mining, a dangerous and illegal activity that has been escalating in the country. Before the operation began, Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu reported that over 1,576 illegal miners had been arrested between August 2024 and January 12, 2025. These arrests included nationals from neighboring countries, such as 997 Mozambicans, 427 Zimbabweans, and 118 Basotho.

Mchunu further confirmed that 121 illegal miners had been deported, including 80 Mozambicans, 30 Basotho, 10 Zimbabweans, and one Malawian.

Additionally, 46 individuals have already been found guilty of illegal mining and related offenses, with court sentences including a fine of R12,000 or six months of suspended imprisonment for five years, provided they do not commit similar offenses.

On Wednesday, the operation continued with 114 miners being retrieved alive, while 18 bodies were recovered.

As the operation nears its conclusion, Mathe stated that the South African Police Service is working alongside Mines Rescue Services to confirm whether there are any remaining illegal miners underground. “The Mines Rescue Service has confirmed that they will send the cage underground in the morning (Thursday) to see if any illegal miners resurface with the cage,” Mathe explained.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely and have assured the public that updates will be provided on Thursday morning regarding the continuation of the extraction operation. This incident has once again drawn attention to the risks of illegal mining, particularly in abandoned mines, and the strain it places on both the safety of the miners and the resources of the South African government.

Harare Women Lose US$30K To Mukando, One Of Them Collapses

By Munacho Gwamanda – A group of women who pooled their savings in a traditional mukando scheme has been rocked by allegations of fraud, with members losing a total of US$30,000.

The situation has left one member hospitalised after collapsing under the weight of financial loss and distress.

The savings club, organised by Ruthy Charlie Mufundisi and her associate Dunior Shahari, ran from January to December 2024. Members had anticipated sharing nearly US$30,000 at the end of the year, but instead, Mufundisi produced only US$1,200. One of the victims, identified as Edna, lost US$4,100 and has since taken the matter to the Harare Civil Court under the Small Claims division.

Court documents allege deliberate deception, with the plaintiff accusing the defendants of orchestrating the scheme to defraud participants. “The defendants have benefited out of nothing, which is clear lawlessness,” read part of the court papers. Edna claims repeated attempts to recover her money were ignored, forcing her to seek legal recourse.

Ruthy, however, disputes the allegations, arguing that she too struggled financially as a member of the club. “I acknowledged my debt and signed affidavits to pay back on agreed dates. This was not theft but a case of my financial difficulties,” she said. Ruthy insists that other members also owe money within the mukando system, a claim she says complicates the dispute.

Edna countered, saying red flags appeared when Mufundisi failed to provide financial statements during the scheme’s operations. “We demanded transparency, but she could not account for the funds. When the time came to share, she brought US$1,200 instead of the agreed amount,” Edna stated.

The case has attracted attention for shedding light on the vulnerabilities of informal savings schemes in Zimbabwe, where many turn to mukando as an alternative to formal banking. As trust erodes and legal action ensues, this story serves as a cautionary tale for those participating in unregulated financial arrangements.

The case continues today at Harare Civil Court.

Auxillia Mnangagwa Could Crash Into Potholes Today

Domboshava, Zimbabwe — January 18, 2025

As First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa prepares to visit Domboshava Show Grounds today, residents are questioning whether she will traverse the severely damaged Domboshava Road or opt for a helicopter.

The road, located only 36 kilometers from Harare, has become a symbol of neglect, riddled with large potholes and poor drainage. It is a vital route used daily by thousands of commuters. Last year, MP Beatrice Nyamupinga and Transport Minister Felix Mhona promised in a widely circulated video that the road would be rehabilitated before the rainy season. However, little progress has been made.

The few sections that were resurfaced last year are already developing potholes, further highlighting the poor quality of workmanship. Heavy rains have worsened the condition of the road, creating waterlogged sections that are increasingly hazardous for motorists.

Residents are demanding accountability from local leaders, emphasizing that the deteriorating state of the Domboshava Road is an embarrassment for a location so close to the capital city. With the First Lady’s visit, the road’s poor condition has come under renewed scrutiny, with locals urging immediate action instead of unfulfilled promises.

Whether Auxillia Mnangagwa will face the same challenges as ordinary citizens or bypass the road issues altogether remains to be seen. Meanwhile, residents are calling for sustainable solutions to fix one of the busiest roads in the area.

UK Regulator Shuts Down Tshabangu-Welshman Linked Law Firm “To Protect The Public”

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | UK regulators have shut down a London based law firm. This is the entity that helped raise USD25million for politicians Sengezo Tshabangu and Professor Welshman Ncube’s publicist to amass properties used in the process of destabilising Nelson Chamisa’s party between 2018 and 2024.

The law firm’s founder, Julian Condliffe has and continues to be under investigation over allegedly deceiving investors mostly Zimbabweans saying she would help them obtain title deeds in both UK and Zimbabwe, under her wholly owned company and secondly under the girlfriend of Welshman Ncube’s publicist Jimmy Chasafara, Sithule Tshuma’s Qoki Zindlovukazi entity.

Condliffe had built a reputation as an acclaimed award winning solicitor, with a polished media presence, during the 6 year period, amid her many videos promising to assist property seekers become millionaires.

Her Creative Legal Solutions company amassed several millions of pounds in UK while in Zimbabwe, Qoki sucked a whopping USD25million from investors some who were in UK, others in US, Canada, UAE, Australia and South Africa.

The announcement by the SRA

The SRA’s findings follow a 3 year long ZimEye investigation that exposed the first case. In one of them, £56,000 was recovered following a protracted court battle at Birmingham in 2023. They state in part:

Welshman Ncube’s publicist explaining why he set up QOKI, to purchase properties not for the investors but for Welshman Ncube’s party

“Grounds of intervention into the practice of Julian Condliffe
•There is reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of Ms Condliffe in connection with her practice as a solicitor – paragraph 1(1)(a)(i) Schedule 1 Solicitors Act 1974 (as amended).
•Ms Condliffe has failed to comply with rules – paragraph 1(1)( c) Schedule 1 Solicitors Act 1974.”

Search Intensifies for Missing Kariba Woman and Fisherman

Kariba, Zimbabwe — January 18, 2025 | By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | A massive community-led search operation is underway in Kariba following the disappearance of two residents, Sabina Maghona and a fisherman identified as Mativiri. The searches are being coordinated with the help of local leaders and concerned residents.

Sabina Maghona, 37, went missing on December 28, 2024, after telling people she was headed to Kariba General Hospital but never arrived. The search for her, led by Ward 2 Councillor George Masendu, has focused on areas near bushes where lion sightings are common, raising fears for her safety.

Parallel Search for Missing Fisherman

In a separate incident, Mativiri, a local spear fisherman, disappeared near the Zambezi River. Community members and authorities have launched a search along the riverbank, with concerns about dangerous wildlife and harsh terrain complicating the effort.

Appeal to the Public

Councillor Masendu has urged residents in Kariba and surrounding areas to assist in the search. “If you are in Kariba and can help, please contact me or report to the nearest police station,” he said.

Local Member of Parliament Mutsa Murombedzi also highlighted the community’s efforts, urging anyone with information about the missing individuals to come forward.

Growing Concerns

The disappearances have sparked anxiety in Kariba, a town known for its proximity to wildlife habitats. Families and community members are working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of both individuals, while police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding their disappearances.

Authorities have emphasized the need for vigilance and have called on anyone with information to assist in resolving the cases.

Harare Water Tender Given An Unknown Company Called “Helcrow”

Harare Officials Question Water Infrastructure Deal Awarded to Helcraw Electrical Projects

Harare, Zimbabwe — January 18, 2025

Harare City Council officials have raised serious concerns over the government’s selection of Helcraw Electrical Projects for a major water infrastructure contract, citing doubts about the company’s financial and technical capacity. The Zimbabwe Independent has learned that these concerns were brought up during a series of meetings with the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works this week.

Helcraw Electrical Projects, linked to Zanu PF legislator Farai Jere, has partnered with Chinese firm Hangzhou Laison Technology to establish a new water treatment plant, supply prepaid water meters, and replace sections of the city’s aging pipe network. However, Harare officials have questioned the company’s suitability for the multimillion-dollar project, given its unsuccessful bid to supply water meters in a US$2 million tender in 2023.

Lack of Due Diligence

On January 12, city officials, including acting water director Richard Kunyadini, attended a meeting at Makombe Building to discuss Helcraw’s selection. According to a senior government official, the discussions focused on whether Helcraw had the capacity to finance and implement the project.

“The meeting emphasised the need for due diligence on Helcraw Electrical Projects. Concerns were raised about their financial and technical capacity to undertake the project and the lack of proof of funding,” the source said.

The deal has also sparked criticism over its alleged lack of transparency. Helcraw reportedly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government without undergoing a formal tender process.

Costs and Scope of the Project

Confidential documents reviewed by the Independent reveal that Helcraw will:

Supply prepaid meters for 350,000 properties at a cost of US$96 million.

Replace 100 kilometers of pipe network valued at US$23 million.

Despite the magnitude of the project, officials at the meeting reportedly agreed that such an initiative could not be undertaken by a single firm, raising further doubts about Helcraw’s ability to deliver.

Responses from Key Stakeholders

Farai Jere, linked to Helcraw, declined to comment over the phone and requested a meeting with the publication next week. Acting water director Kunyadini referred questions to Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume, who defended the deal but acknowledged that no concerns were raised in his presence during the signing ceremony.

“I am in Russia. I attended the meetings to sign agreements. Not one person questioned their capacity in my presence,” Mafume said.

Local Government Minister Daniel Garwe and Engineer Edmore Njoma, who also attended the meeting, did not respond to inquiries at the time of publication.

Broader Concerns

This development comes as Harare battles a worsening water crisis, with aging infrastructure and inadequate resources affecting supply. Critics warn that awarding such a large-scale project without thorough scrutiny risks further mismanagement of public funds.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) is reportedly being pressured to intervene and investigate the tender process. For now, the fate of the project remains uncertain as debates over Helcraw’s capacity and transparency intensify.

ZRP Cops Caught In The Act

Mutare, Zimbabwe — January 18, 2025

In a dramatic turn of events, a Mutare taxi driver exposed a bribery attempt by two officials after reporting them to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC). The accused persons, whose identities have not been disclosed, were apprehended after a sting operation organized by ZACC investigators.

The incident began on January 7, 2025, when the accused persons arrested the taxi driver for illegally operating in the Mutare Central Business District (CBD). They demanded a bribe of USD 90 to release his vehicle. Unable to pay the amount, the driver requested that they accompany him to his employer’s residence to collect the money.

The Clever Ruse

Instead of driving to his employer’s home, the driver went to ZACC offices under the guise of collecting the money. Upon arrival, he parked outside the gate while the accused waited under a tree nearby. Inside the ZACC offices, the driver reported the bribery attempt, prompting officials to set up a trap.

The accused persons had disappeared by the time ZACC officers prepared the sting. However, the driver, now accompanied by an investigator posing as his employer, proceeded to the CBD to meet the accused.

The Sting Operation

The accused reappeared when the driver parked in the CBD. They entered his vehicle, accused him of deception, and reiterated their demand for a bribe. ZACC investigators, working undercover, negotiated the bribe down to USD 20. The accused then instructed the driver to head to the civic center, where they would collect the money.

As reinforcement officers moved in, the accused dropped the cash and attempted to flee the scene. Their escape was short-lived as they were quickly apprehended by ZACC officials.

Legal Proceedings

The accused were granted bail and are scheduled to appear in court on January 25, 2025.

This incident highlights the ongoing fight against corruption in Zimbabwe, with citizens increasingly cooperating with anti-corruption authorities to expose malpractice.

Mnangagwa Seeds Stolen

Presidential Input Scheme Seeds Stolen in Tsholotsho

Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe — January 18, 2025

A truckload of Presidential Input Scheme supplies destined for Ward Seven in Tsholotsho district has vanished without a trace, along with its accompanying personnel and crucial agricultural inputs. Nearly two weeks after its disappearance, authorities are yet to locate the truck, valued stock, or the individuals responsible for its delivery.

The vehicle, which went missing on January 4, was carrying:

400 bags of 50kg Urea fertilizer

30 bags of 10kg sunflower seeds

100 bottles of 200ml Imidacloprid chemicals

The truck was last seen leaving the Tsholotsho Grain Marketing Board (GMB) depot under the supervision of extension officer Ms. Kwanele Dube, GMB contract employee Mr. Langton Ncube, and police officer Abisinjo Mpofu. None of the three have been seen or heard from since.

Dispatch Irregularities

Investigations revealed a troubling detail: the stock was not signed off in the provisional dispatcher book at the GMB depot because the book was reportedly full. This gap in protocol has raised questions about procedural compliance and the potential for internal collusion.

Matabeleland North Acting Director of Local Government Services, Mr. Tapiwa Zivovoi, confirmed the lack of progress in the case. “We have not been informed of any arrests nor recovery of the truck and its inputs,” he said, calling for urgent action to address the situation.

CID Steps In

The mysterious disappearance is now under the scrutiny of detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). Sources close to the investigation describe the case as “highly sensitive,” given the implications for the Presidential Input Scheme, which is a cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s efforts to bolster agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods.

Concerns Over Accountability

This incident has sparked outrage and concern among local farmers in Ward Seven, who rely on these inputs to sustain their livelihoods. “This is devastating. We were counting on this support to start the planting season,” said one farmer.

The disappearance also raises broader concerns about accountability and the security of public resources. Calls are growing for a thorough overhaul of procedures surrounding the distribution and monitoring of government input programs.

The Presidential Input Scheme, championed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is a flagship initiative designed to provide smallholder farmers with seeds and fertilizers to enhance food security. This theft represents a significant blow to the program’s objectives.

Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue. For now, the fate of the missing truck and its contents remains shrouded in mystery.

Bulawayo Man Jailed For Reckless Driving

By A Correspondent

A reckless drive taken by Bulawayo resident Previous Moyo (24) ended in multiple accidents when he was involved in five separate crashes on the same day, while driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol.

On December 26 last year, after his sister, Sithembinkosi Chisenzi, left for her rural home in Masvingo, Previous entered her room, found the car keys hidden in the wardrobe, and took them without permission. He then drove towards the city center, where his first accident occurred when he rear-ended another vehicle near Bulawayo City Hall on 8th Avenue, before fleeing the scene.

His reckless driving continued as he was involved in another collision at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Joshua Mqabuko Street, once again driving off without stopping. He then made a U-turn and headed to the Parklands suburb, where he caused yet another accident on an unnamed road. He continued driving along Coghlan Avenue in Parklands, where he was involved in a fourth accident, once again failing to stop.

A few minutes later, Previous collided with a cyclist, who managed to apprehend him and take him to Khumalo Police Base, where he was arrested.

Previous appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ernest Muzembi on five counts of negligent driving and pleaded guilty to all charges. The magistrate sentenced him to seven months in jail, noting that his actions posed a significant risk to public safety, especially as he was driving without a license.

7 Children Drown In Green Valley Dam

By A Correspondent

Residents of Green Valley suburb in Goromonzi have raised concerns over the alarming number of child drownings at in a nearby dam.

Between November last year and January this year, seven children lost their lives in the dam’s deep waters.

The dam, located in the Green Valley suburb of Goromonzi district, east of Harare, appears harmless with its decorative artificial waterfall. However, its deep waters, hidden by floating weeds, have proven fatal for young swimmers.

A resident expressed during an interview with State broadcaster ZBC News, “Children are drawn to swim here, but the depth of the dam wall is deceptive, and they end up drowning.”

Another resident shared a local legend, “Some believe a mermaid lurks beneath, given the mysterious circumstances surrounding the drownings.”

To prevent further tragedies, residents are calling for measures to restrict access to the dam. “Erecting a fence or concrete barrier with razor wire could save lives,” suggested a concerned resident.

The latest victim, a 16-year-old boy, drowned on Tuesday, prompting renewed urgency for action to be taken to ensure the dam is safe and secure.

Chivayo Continues to Splash Looted Cash

By A Correspondent

Controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has once again sparked outrage with his lavish spending, this time gifting a brand-new Mercedes Benz C200 to C.H Mukungunugwa, a loyal Zanu PF foot-soldier. Chivayo, known for his close ties to the ruling party, took to his social media platform, X, to praise Mukungunugwa’s dedication to the party.

Chivayo’s gesture has raised questions about the sources of his wealth, particularly his history of rewarding loyal party members.

Critics argue that such acts of generosity are a way to further cement loyalty within the party ranks. Chivayo’s distribution of cars to Zanu PF loyalists has become a point of contention, fueling speculation about his influence within the party and the nature of his business operations.

Chivayo’s business dealings have faced scrutiny in the past, including his involvement in the botched Gwanda project, which has been marred by allegations of corruption and mismanagement of state funds. The project’s failure has sparked widespread outrage, with many Zimbabweans questioning how Chivayo’s company, Intratrek Zimbabwe, was awarded the tender despite lacking experience in the energy sector.

As the debate over Chivayo’s wealth continues, his latest gesture adds fuel to the ongoing conversation about the intersection of business, politics, and loyalty in Zimbabwe. Many are left wondering whether Chivayo’s lavish spending is a sign of his own success or a symptom of a larger problem – the looting of state funds through clandestine deals and corruption.

Mnangagwa Ally Boasts of Economic Growth Amidst Widespread Poverty

Owen Ncube, a key ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has claimed that Zimbabwe’s economy is on an “irreversible growth trajectory” despite the country’s ongoing economic crisis. Ncube, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, made these comments during the Hero Burial of John Mazwienzara at the Provincial Heroes Acre in Gweru.

However, Ncube’s assertions of economic growth contradict the harsh reality faced by many Zimbabweans. The country is struggling with soaring unemployment, inflation, and poverty, leaving many citizens feeling left behind.

A Tale of Two Economies: Growth vs. Reality

While Ncube boasts of “signature modern infrastructure projects” and “heritage-based innovation,” the World Bank paints a different picture. According to their report, Zimbabwe’s economy is expected to grow at a slower rate of 2% in 2024 due to El Niño-induced droughts, lower mining prices, and macroeconomic instability ¹.

The report also highlights the country’s significant developmental challenges, including:

  • Macroeconomic vulnerabilities: High public debt, limited fiscal space, and a difficult business environment.
  • Poverty and inequality: Widespread poverty, with over 40% of the population experiencing food insecurity.
  • Infrastructure challenges: Inadequate electricity supply, poor physical and institutional infrastructure.

Zimbabwe’s Economic Reality Check

As Ncube and the government celebrate perceived economic growth, many Zimbabweans are struggling to make ends meet. The country’s economic challenges are real, and it’s essential to acknowledge and address them.

Rather than boasting of growth, the government should focus on implementing policies that benefit all Zimbabweans, not just a select few. This includes addressing macroeconomic vulnerabilities, investing in infrastructure, and promoting private sector-led growth.

Only then can Zimbabwe truly claim to be on a path towards sustainable economic growth and development.

Lawyer Says ‘Failing to Produce An O-Level Certificate Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Magaya Doesn’t Possess One’

High Court Reserves Judgment on Magaya’s ZIFA Presidential Bid Challenge

By Court Correspondent | ZimEye | Harare – High Court judge Justice Tawanda Chitapi has reserved his judgment until Thursday in the case involving Walter Magaya, the founder of Yadah Stars, who is contesting his disqualification from running for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) presidency.

Magaya’s disqualification stems from his failure to produce an O-Level certificate or its equivalent, as required by the ZIFA constitution. Represented by renowned lawyer Thabani Mpofu, Magaya argues that the disqualification is unjustified.

Arguments from Magaya’s Legal Team

Mpofu described the matter as “simple and straightforward,” emphasizing that the ZIFA constitution only requires a minimum qualification of O-Level or its equivalent.

“If a qualification issued by a university exceeds the standard of an O-Level, this application ought to succeed,” Mpofu argued.

He accused ZIFA of failing to provide adequate reasons for Magaya’s disqualification, stating, “The respondents are aware they need to justify their decision but have not demonstrated that the documents submitted by Magaya fail to meet the required qualifications.”

Mpofu also stressed that failing to produce an O-Level certificate does not necessarily mean Magaya does not possess one, adding, “The process allows time to comply and contest discrepancies in documentation.”

ZIFA’s Defense

ZIFA, represented by Professor Lovemore Madhuku, dismissed Magaya’s application as baseless and argued that it was improperly brought before the High Court. Madhuku maintained that ZIFA, as a private non-profit organization, is not subject to judicial review under administrative law.

“ZIFA is not an administrative body. It is a private organization, and its decisions cannot be reviewed by this court,” Madhuku submitted. He further argued that Magaya’s failure to produce an O-Level certificate disqualifies him outright, stating, “The primary requirement is O-Level or its equivalent. Diplomas or higher qualifications cannot substitute this minimum standard.”

Sharp Exchanges in Court

Madhuku criticized Magaya’s legal approach, stating that his argument undermined the clear requirements of the ZIFA constitution. “You cannot skip foundational requirements, just like you cannot start at Grade 4 without completing ECD,” Madhuku quipped.

He also challenged Magaya’s claims of equivalence, asserting, “If Magaya had an O-Level, he would have attached it to his application. The absence of this document speaks volumes.”

The Verdict Awaits

Justice Chitapi reserved judgment after hearing submissions from both parties. The outcome of this case could set a precedent for the interpretation of qualifications in sports governance in Zimbabwe. Should Magaya succeed, it may lead to a broader discussion on the alignment of ZIFA’s electoral requirements with international best practices.

For now, all eyes remain on the High Court as it prepares to deliver its ruling on this contentious matter.

Roma Join the Chase for Zimbabwean Left-Back Zemura

Italian Serie A giants AS Roma have reportedly entered the fray to sign Jordan Zemura, the Zimbabwean left-back currently plying his trade with Udinese.

According to Italian daily Leggo, Roma are closely monitoring Zemura’s progress, with the aim of bringing him to the Stadio Olimpico during the current transfer season.

Zemura, who is in his second year of a contract that expires in June 2027, has caught the attention of Roma’s scouts, who believe he would be an ideal backup for Angelino in the left-back position.

This development comes hot on the heels of reports last month that AC Milan were also interested in signing Zemura, with the Rossoneri viewing him as a potential backup for Theo Hernandez.

As the interest in Zemura continues to grow, it remains to be seen whether Roma will formalize their interest in the Zimbabwean left-back with a concrete offer. However, one thing is clear – Zemura is increasingly in demand among Italy’s top clubs.

Jimmy Dzingai To Join DeMbare?

Sports Correspondent

The mass exodus of players from Dynamos FC continues unabated, with several key players leaving the Harare giants in recent weeks.

The latest departures include Emmanuel Paga, who has completed his move to Manica Diamonds, and Emmanuel Ziocha, who has joined Simba Bhora. Shadreck Nyahwa and Frank Makarati have also left Dynamos to join TelOne.

These departures follow a string of other high-profile exits from the club, including that of Collin Mujuru, who has joined Green Fuel after a stint with Nyasa Big Bullets.

The player exodus has raised concerns about the future of Dynamos FC, which has struggled to maintain consistency in recent seasons. The club’s failure to retain its top players has been attributed to a combination of factors, including financial constraints and poor management.

Meanwhile, other Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs have been busy bolstering their squads with new signings. Manica Diamonds have been particularly active in the transfer market, snapping up Issa Sadiki from Dembare in addition to Paga.

Scotland FC have also made some significant signings, including Khama Billiat from Yadah, Godknows Murwira and Kingsley Mureremba from Caps United, and Peter Muduhwa from Highlanders.

In other news, former Warriors defender Jimmy Dzingai has resurfaced at Dynamos and is reportedly on the verge of joining the club. Juan Mutudza, meanwhile, is currently a free agent after his contract with FC Platinum was terminated.

Man In Multiple Accidents While Driving Without A Licence

South Africa’s Champions Trophy Squad – Who are the key men?

The ICC Champions Trophy is fast approaching, with each of the eight nations involved dreaming of scooping the cup for the first time since Pakistan managed to triumph back in 2017.

Group A features Bangladesh, India, New Zealand and hosts Pakistan, while Group B sees South Africa drawn against Afghanistan, Australia and England. Of the two groups, the second seems the more competitive, with the gap between each side relatively small.

Indeed, Australia, England and South Africa rank as the favourites to secure the trophy outside of India, while Afghanistan have been able to prove they have what it takes to stun the best on their day.

The South African squad heading into the Champions Trophy will be desperate to ensure their historic failures at major competitions does not follow them into 2025. The Proteas have struggled to star at major competitions, with this seeing their only Champions Trophy triumph come back in 1998.

Their opening match this year is likely their most winnable as it comes against Afghanistan. Victory in this one would set them up to face Australia knowing that a win would likely be enough to see them go through, while a loss would not likely be too damaging if they are then able to beat England in their final match.

With so much pressure coming straight from the first ball, which stars will likely prove to be the key players in South Africa’s Champions Trophy run? Bets.co.za have provided their verdict.

Temba Bavuma

When it comes to choosing key players in any sport, the captain is often one of the first names mentioned. Temba Bavuma will lead this South African side into the competition looking to ensure that he has a positive impact in all facets of the game.

With the bat, Bavuma boasts an average of 42.92 in the ODI format, although his stats in 2024 saw his yearly average dip to 23.80. While it is better for Bavuma to struggle prior to a competition rather than at the showpiece event itself, he has very little time to turn things around between now and the start of the tournament on February 19.

Many players have found that the runs can dry up when they are given the responsibility of captaincy. The best way for Bavuma to focus on his run scoring is if his bowlers are able to execute their strategies to perfection. If Bavuma sees his bowling lineup keeping their economy rates low and taking wickets, it allows the captain to focus on his own game plan with the bat.

The captain of a side has the unenviable job of trying to formulate ways of taking wickets when they simply will not fall, while they are often lambasted for playing too defensively when the opposition is in full flight. Similarly, if they attack too much and start to leak runs, the game can turn on it’s head very quickly. Bavuma has to find a way of ensuring that he tows the line between looking to take wickets and keeping the score down, all the while trying to score runs for his team.

At 34, this will be one of his final major competitions, and he will be desperate to bring the curtain down on his career with some form of silverware.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada has been the man South Africa have turned to across formats, with the fast bowler taking wickets with fiery spells that have put his express pace on full show.

With 162 wickets across ODIs since 2015, Rabada has cemented his place in this South African side. 2024 also proved to be his best year with regard to strike rate. The quick had a strike rate of 24.00 last year, far better than his overall rate of 32.65. While he did only play two 50 over matches in 2024, he managed to take 5/104 across 20 overs.

The pitches in Pakistan will likely give some assistance to faster bowlers, but they will almost certainly benefit spin bowlers more. This simply means that quicker bowers need variations and plans in place to ensure that they are not simply taking up an end and providing no real threat.

Rabada is precisely the type of bowler we expect to see arriving with a full bag of tricks. His express pace is an issue when players are looking to go over the top and score runs, while the threat of a slower ball when a batter is expecting a quicker delivery is massive.

While the spinners may provide the biggest wicket-taking option on the pitches in Pakistan, Rabada will have his moments, and he may yet prove to be the trophy winner for his side.

Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram was looking to use South Africa’s run of matches against Pakistan as the ideal place to find form heading into the Champions Trophy.

However, with the exception of a score of 89 in the first Test match, Markram was not at his best across any of the formats. He arrives with an underwhelming average of 36.32 in ODI’s across his career, with Markram slipping from 51.65 in 2023 to 33.40 last year. Worryingly, Markram failed to score a century across any of his six innings in 2024, notching one fifty with a top score of 69 not out.

The position of three and four in the team will be incredibly important across the Champions Trophy. Rassie van der Dussen has been tipped by many to come out at three with Markram likely the fourth batter. The ODI game is incredibly unforgiving as the team that bats first often struggles to post a competitive score if they lose early wickets.

Teams can shrink back into their shell if they lose their openers, with their third and fourth batsmen looking to soak up pressure and halt the fall of wickets. This has often seen a nation labour their way to 200 or so runs, which is easily chased down by the opposition if they are able to stave off early wickets.

Similarly, if Markram comes in with the score at 200/2 after 35 overs, he then has to ensure he does not throw his wicket away cheaply, while he cannot score too slowly. There are more explosive batsmen below him that can accelerate the scoring, meaning going into Test match mode is not an option if South Africa are to go big.

Ultimately, Markram’s job is not solely to score runs. Instead, it is to rotate the strike, keep the pressure on the opposition and to be sure he does not use up too many deliveries. Markram may not physically be in the best form with the bat right now, meaning he needs to be at the top of his tactical game to ensure he supports the team in the right way.

Judge Rules In Magaya ZIFA Dispute, Reserves

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Harare – High Court Judge Justice Tawanda Chitapi has reserved his ruling until Thursday in a case where Yadah Stars founder Walter Magaya is contesting his disqualification from running for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) presidency.

Magaya, represented by top lawyer Thabani (Fulcrum) Mpofu, is challenging ZIFA’s decision to bar him from the race, arguing that his qualifications meet the constitutional requirements.

Addressing the court, Mpofu said, “What brings us to court is a simple and very straightforward issue. The requirement set out in the ZIFA constitution is clear: it requires an O-Level or an equivalent qualification. If a qualification issued by a university is even better than O-Level, then this application ought to succeed.”

Mpofu criticized ZIFA for failing to justify the disqualification, accusing the football body of not providing evidence that Magaya’s submitted documents were insufficient. He emphasized that ZIFA’s Electoral Code establishes a minimum qualification threshold and allows candidates time to correct documentation issues.

“The respondents have not given reasons to suggest that the documents they received do not amount to a qualification,” Mpofu submitted. “The Electoral Code allows candidates to address such issues within a given timeframe. Magaya’s failure to produce an O-Level certificate initially does not mean he doesn’t have one.”

On the other hand, ZIFA’s legal representative, Lovemore Madhuku, dismissed the application as baseless and argued that the court lacked jurisdiction over ZIFA’s internal decisions.

“This application is not properly before the court,” Madhuku asserted. “ZIFA is a private, non-profit organization, not an administrative authority. The law is clear that only decisions of administrative authorities can be reviewed by this court. There is no legal basis for this case.”

Madhuku further argued that ZIFA operates as a private entity, and its electoral decisions should not be subject to judicial review. He urged the court to dismiss the application outright.

Justice Chitapi, after hearing arguments from both parties, reserved judgment for Thursday, leaving the fate of Magaya’s presidential ambitions in suspense. The decision is likely to have significant implications for ZIFA’s governance and the broader landscape of sports administration in Zimbabwe.

Stay tuned for updates as this pivotal case unfolds.

Top Strategies for Winning at Toto Slot on Popular Situs Toto Websites

Toto slot games have captured the hearts of gamblers worldwide, offering a thrilling combination of entertainment and the potential for big wins. With the rise of online gaming, popular Situs Toto websites have become go-to platforms for players seeking engaging and lucrative slot games. While luck plays a significant role in slot games, strategic play can enhance your chances of winning. Here, we’ll explore the top strategies to maximize your success on these platforms.

Choose Reputable Situs Toto Websites

Your journey to winning starts with selecting a trustworthy Situs Toto website. Opt for licensed platforms that offer a wide range of games and have positive user reviews. These websites ensure fair play, reliable payouts, and robust security measures to protect your information. By choosing a legitimate platform, you reduce the risk of scams and increase your chances of enjoying a seamless gaming experience.

Understand the Game Mechanics

Each Toto slot game has unique rules, pay lines, and features. Before you start playing, take time to understand the game mechanics. Familiarize yourself with the following:

  • Paylines: The lines on which winning combinations are formed.
  • Symbols: Regular, scatter, and wild symbols, along with their roles.
  • Bonus Rounds: Features like free spins, multipliers, and mini-games.

Most reputable Situs Toto websites offer demo modes where you can practice without wagering real money. Use this opportunity to grasp the game’s nuances and build confidence before playing with real stakes.

Set a Budget and Stick to It

Successful players always manage their bankroll effectively. Set a budget for your gaming session and avoid exceeding it, no matter how tempting it might be. Divide your bankroll into smaller portions for multiple sessions to prolong your playtime. This disciplined approach not only helps you avoid losses but also keeps the game enjoyable.

Take Advantage of Bonuses and Promotions

Most Situs Toto platforms offer a variety of bonuses and promotions, such as:

  • Welcome Bonuses: Extra credits are available when you sign up and make your first deposit.
  • Free Spins: Opportunities to play without wagering your own money.
  • Loyalty Rewards: Perks for regular players, like cashback or exclusive games.

These bonuses can significantly boost your bankroll, giving you more chances to win. However, always read the terms and conditions to understand the wagering requirements and withdrawal limits associated with these promotions.

Start with Low-Stakes Games

If you’re new to Toto slot or a particular game, it’s wise to begin with low-stakes games. This strategy allows you to explore the game’s features without risking substantial amounts. As you gain experience and confidence, you can gradually increase your wagers.

Play Games with High RTP

Return to Player (RTP) is a critical factor in slot games. It represents the percentage of wagered money a game is expected to return to players over time. Games with higher RTPs (typically above 95%) offer better long-term winning potential. Most Situs Toto websites provide RTP information for their games, so prioritize high-RTP slots to enhance your chances of success.

Embrace Volatility Levels

Slot games have different volatility levels that influence the frequency and size of payouts:

  • Low Volatility: Frequent but smaller payouts.
  • High Volatility: Infrequent but larger payouts.

Choose games based on your risk tolerance. If you prefer steady wins, go for low-volatility slots. For the chance to win big, high-volatility games are your best bet. Mixing both types during a session can also balance risk and reward.

Use the Autoplay Feature Wisely

Many modern Toto slots come with an autoplay feature, allowing you to spin reels automatically for a set number of rounds. While this is convenient, use it cautiously. Set win and loss limits to prevent the feature from depleting your bankroll without your awareness. Staying in control of your play is key to success.

Know When to Stop

One of the most crucial strategies is knowing when to walk away. Gambling can be addictive, and chasing losses often leads to greater losses. Set win and loss limits for each session and stick to them. Celebrate your wins and accept losses gracefully. Remember, the goal is to enjoy the game while staying within your limits.

Engage with the Community

Joining forums and online communities dedicated to Toto slots can be incredibly beneficial. These platforms provide insights, tips, and strategies from experienced players. You can learn about new games, discover the best promotions, and even find recommendations for trustworthy Situs Toto websites.

Track Your Progress

Keeping a record of your wins, losses, and strategies can help you identify patterns and refine your approach. Analyze your gameplay to understand which strategies work best for you and adjust accordingly. This data-driven approach can enhance your long-term success.

Focus on Entertainment

While winning is undoubtedly exciting, it’s essential to prioritize the entertainment aspect of Toto slots. Approach each session with the mindset of enjoying the game rather than solely focusing on profits. This perspective reduces stress and allows you to make better decisions during gameplay.

Play Responsibly

Responsible gaming is the cornerstone of a positive experience. Avoid playing when you’re tired, stressed, or under the influence of alcohol. Ensure that your gaming habits don’t interfere with your personal and professional life. Many Situs Toto platforms offer tools for responsible gaming, such as self-exclusion options and deposit limits. Use these tools if necessary to maintain a healthy relationship with gambling.

Final Thoughts

Winning at Toto slots on popular Situs Toto websites requires a mix of strategy, discipline, and luck. By choosing reputable platforms, understanding game mechanics, managing your bankroll, and taking advantage of bonuses, you can significantly enhance your chances of success. Remember, the key to a fulfilling gaming experience is to play responsibly and enjoy the thrill of the game. So, spin those reels wisely, and may fortune favor you!

JUST IN: ‘O’ Level Results Out

By Munacho Gwamanda- The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) has announced the release of the 2024 November Ordinary Level examination results.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Zimsec board chairperson Professor Paul Mapfumo confirmed that the results would be accessible online from 4 PM today.

The portal will remain open for five days, providing candidates and authorized personnel access to their results through the Zimsec website, www.zimsec.co.zw.

“The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council board and management would like to advise the nation of the release of the 2024 November Ordinary Level examination results,” said Professor Mapfumo.

“With effect from today, 17 January 2025, 4 PM, Ordinary Level examination candidates’ results will be accessible online through the Zimsec portal. Please take note that this portal will be open for five days only. Heads of examination centres will be able to collect the results for their respective schools or centres from our regional offices on Monday, 20 January 2025,” he added.

This year’s results come against the backdrop of significant changes in Zimbabwe’s education system.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education recently reviewed the national curriculum, eliminating the Continuous Assessment Learning Activities (CALAs) that had been part of the system since 2021.

The controversial CALAs, introduced to incorporate practical and project-based assessments, were criticized for adding undue pressure on both students and teachers.

By reverting to a more traditional examination-focused assessment model, the government aims to streamline the education process and address concerns raised by stakeholders in the education sector.

Dynamos FC Player Exodus Continues

AS Roma Eye Zemura

Italian Serie A giants AS Roma have reportedly set their sights on signing Jordan Zemura, who is currently on the books of Udinese.

According to Italian daily Leggo, Roma are closely monitoring the Zimbabwe international, with the aim of bringing him to the club during the current transfer season.

It remains to be seen whether Roma will formalize their interest in Zemura with a concrete offer, but one thing is clear – the Zimbabwean left-back is increasingly in demand among Italy’s top clubs.

.Safety Alert: Avoid Crossing Flooded Bridges and Rivers

Prison Killing Sites to be Converted into Museums

By A Correspondent

Zimbabwe Prison and Correctional Service (ZPCS) Commissioner General, Dr. Moses C.N Chihobvu, has announced plans to convert former prison killing sites into museums.

This move follows the abolishment of the death penalty by Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa.

According to Dr. Chihobvu, these museums will serve as a reminder of the country’s past and help preserve its history. “Such museums can educate visitors about the events, promoting awareness and understanding of the importance of human rights,” he emphasized.

The conversion of these sites into museums is also expected to have economic benefits. Dr. Chihobvu noted that “the sites can also be used as tourist attraction centres which can be used to generate revenue for the organisation as well as contribute to the national economy.”

This initiative is a significant step towards promoting human rights and preserving Zimbabwe’s history. As the country moves forward, it’s essential to remember its past and learn from it.

Extension of Mnangagwa’s Term of Office Is an Extension of Poverty: Nelson Chamisa

By A Correspondent

In a powerful statement on Thursday, Zimbabwean opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa fiercely criticized the Zanu PF government’s attempt to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office beyond constitutional limits. Currently, Mnangagwa’s second term is set to end in 2028, but Zanu PF hardliners are pushing for the postponement of elections to 2030.

Chamisa, who leads the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), vehemently opposed the move, describing it as a direct attempt to prolong the suffering of the Zimbabwean people. He said:

“STOP THIS NONSENSE!!”
“You want to extend pain and suffering. You want to extend extreme and deadening poverty. You want to extend unemployment. You want to extend hunger and lack.”

Chamisa went on to list various hardships that Zimbabweans have endured under the current administration, condemning the government’s failure to address basic needs such as power, water, and healthcare:

“You want power outages, electricity shortages and water shortages. You want to extend this currency crisis and cash shortages. You want to extend high taxes and skyrocketing prices. You want to extend oppression. You want to extend fear, hate and intimidation. You want to extend terror and violence.”

The opposition leader also accused the government of worsening social and economic conditions across the country, stating:

“You want to extend conflict. You want to extend the nation’s isolation. You want to extend looting and corruption. You want to extend bribery and chicanery. You want to extend the dying hospitals and the dying in hospitals.”

He also highlighted the dire state of Zimbabwe’s education and public service sectors, saying:

“You want to extend the chaos in education. You want to extend the suffering of teachers under squalid conditions. You want to extend the suffering of workers and civil servants. You want to extend the suffering of pensioners.”

Chamisa expressed his outrage over the continued economic struggles and the worsening business environment:

“You want to extend the closing down of businesses. You want to extend the capital flight and brain drain. You can’t!”

He concluded by accusing the ruling party of stealing the people’s mandate, hopes, and votes, and claimed that they sought to perpetuate this “theft” by extending Mnangagwa’s presidency:

“You stole the people’s mandate, hopes and votes. And you want to extend that theft. You can’t extend theft. It can’t. Stop it!!”

Mnangagwa’s Own Ally Owen Ncube Boasts of Economic Growth Despite Citizens’ Suffering

By A Correspondent

On Thursday, Owen Ncube, a key ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, proudly touted the economic recovery under the current regime, despite the overwhelming poverty and suffering faced by Zimbabweans.

Ncube, who serves as the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, made the comments during the Hero Burial of John Mazwienzara at the Provincial Heroes Acre in Gweru.

Below is an excerpt from Ncube’s keynote address:

Keynote Address by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Owen Ncube, On the Occasion of the Hero Burial of John Mazwienzara
Venue: Provincial Heroes Acre, Gweru

✅ “It is a sad day for the entire Midlands Province as we are gathered here to lay to rest a gallant son of the War of Liberation, Cde John Mazwienzara, who passed away on the 10th of January 2025, at plot number 23 Sunnymeade Farm, Redcliff, in Kwekwe after a long illness. On behalf of the Government of Zimbabwe, the Midlands Province, and indeed on my own behalf, I would like to convey my deepest heartfelt condolences to the Mazwienzara family on the untimely departure of a mentor, unifier, and inspirational father. His departure has left a huge gap in his family, the War Veterans Community, the Party ZANU PF, and the entire Midlands Province which will be hard to fill.”

✅ “The Midlands Province appreciates the conferment of Liberation War Hero status by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa, to one of our own in recognition of his selfless sacrifice for the independence and freedom of our motherland Zimbabwe from colonial bondage.”

✅ “Fellow comrades, Cde Mazwienzara was born on the 3rd of November 1958 in Murehwa under Chief Chirinda. He did his primary education at Bangari and Guyu Primary Schools. Life in the communal areas exposed the young Cde Mazwienzara to oppression, discrimination, and brutality perpetrated by the white minority regime against the black majority, who were relegated to second-class citizens in their country of birth. In 1975, Cde Mazwienzara made the brave decision, like most youths of his time, to join the war of liberation, inspired by Mbuya Nehanda’s bold declaration as she faced certain death by hanging: ‘Mapfupa angu achamuka’ (“My bones will rise”).”

✅ “This revolutionary spirit also ignited the passion to fight for liberation in many, including our visionary leader, His Excellency the President, Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa, who joined the struggle in the early 60s. It is therefore fitting that our country is led by such cadres, with an impeccable history, who understand where we came from and the direction our country must take to protect our national interests and achieve prosperity.”

✅ “When the Second Republic was inaugurated on November 24, 2017, President Mnangagwa had the mandate to protect our liberation war legacy, sovereignty, and to empower Zimbabweans through inclusive policies bestowed upon him by the people of Zimbabwe.”

✅ “At the 21st ZANU PF National People’s Conference held in Bulawayo, all 10 provinces overwhelmingly endorsed Resolution Number 1: the attainment of Vision 2030, under the leadership of His Excellency, the President Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa. The Midlands Province’s unwavering support for this resolution is clear, as visible and impactful projects have been successfully implemented under the President’s leadership, including the distribution of title deeds to indigenous Zimbabweans in furtherance of the land reform program.”

✅ “The economy is on an irreversible growth trajectory with signature modern infrastructure projects being rolled out across all provinces, backed by the Devolution and decentralization agenda that ensures no one and no place is left behind.”

✅ “Heritage-based innovation, modernization, and industrialization now provide a development framework that recognizes the critical role of the private sector, foreign direct investment, and home-grown solutions to community challenges in areas such as service delivery, agriculture, education, and digitalization.”

✅ “Cde Mazwienzara received military training at Tembwe in 1976 and was deployed to Tete Province, Takawira Sector, where he became known as Cde Zvinoperaneyi Muhondo. After Independence in 1980, he was integrated into the Zimbabwe National Army and promoted to Warrant Officer 2 until his retirement in 2003. He was awarded several medals, including the Liberation Medal, Independence Medal, Mozambique Campaign Medal, DRC Medal, Long and Exemplary Service Medal, and Fifteen Years Service Medal.”

✅ “Today, we do not grieve, but celebrate Cde Zvinoperaneyi Muhondo, for he was a committed, hardworking, and loyal cadre. He fought not for wealth or power, but for the people and the country he dearly loved. He is survived by two wives, Judith Mapako and Tsungirai Sibhensana, and one child, Petros Mazwienzara. To Cde Zvinoperaneyi Muhondo, I say: Go well, Son of the Soil. Go well, our freedom fighter. Go well, our liberation war hero. You fought the good fight, you finished your race.”

✅ “The Midlands Province salutes you, and we take great lessons from your commitment, selflessness, and sacrifice towards the liberation and development of our nation. Heroes never die. Their legacy lingers to inspire generations. Zororai Murugare, Cde. I thank you!”

While Ncube highlighted the progress made under the current government, his comments come at a time when ordinary Zimbabweans are facing harsh economic conditions, with soaring unemployment, inflation, and poverty. Despite the claims of growth and infrastructure projects, many citizens feel left behind and continue to struggle under the weight of the country’s economic challenges.

“Stop The Nonsense!” Chamisa Lashes Out at Mnangagwa Over Attempt to Extend Presidency

By A Correspondent

In a strong and impassioned statement on Thursday, Zimbabwean opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa condemned the Zanu PF government’s attempt to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s presidency beyond its constitutional limit. Currently, Mnangagwa’s second term is set to end in 2028, but hardliners within the ruling party are pushing for the postponement of elections until 2030.

Chamisa, leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), wasted no time in denouncing the move, accusing Mnangagwa’s administration of exacerbating the suffering of the Zimbabwean people. He boldly declared:

“STOP THIS NONSENSE!!”
“You want to extend pain and suffering. You want to extend extreme and deadening poverty. You want to extend unemployment. You want to extend hunger and lack.”

Chamisa went on to list a litany of hardships Zimbabweans have endured under the current regime, highlighting the government’s failure to address basic needs such as power, water, and healthcare. He added:

“You want power outages, electricity shortages and water shortages. You want to extend this currency crisis and cash shortages. You want to extend high taxes and skyrocketing prices. You want to extend oppression. You want to extend fear, hate and intimidation. You want to extend terror and violence.”

The opposition leader didn’t hold back in criticizing the state of social and economic affairs under Mnangagwa’s rule, accusing the government of pushing the nation further into turmoil:

“You want to extend conflict. You want to extend the nation’s isolation. You want to extend looting and corruption. You want to extend bribery and chicanery. You want to extend the dying hospitals and the dying in hospitals.”

Chamisa also turned his attention to the crumbling education and public services sectors, painting a grim picture of life for teachers, workers, and pensioners under the current administration:

“You want to extend the chaos in education. You want to extend the suffering of teachers under squalid conditions. You want to extend the suffering of workers and civil servants. You want to extend the suffering of pensioners.”

The CCC leader highlighted the country’s worsening economic climate, with businesses closing down and a growing brain drain, adding:

“You want to extend the closing down of businesses. You want to extend the capital flight and brain drain. You can’t!”

Chamisa ended his tirade by accusing the ruling party of “stealing” the people’s votes and mandate, warning them that they could not extend this theft by prolonging Mnangagwa’s presidency:

“You stole the people’s mandate, hopes and votes. And you want to extend that theft. You can’t extend theft. It can’t. Stop it!!”

A Rebuttal to Prophecies Obsessed with Death Over Life

By Davies Kangayi | Prophecies that focus solely on death, doom, and destruction present a narrow and arguably flawed perspective of what foretelling should entail. True prophetic insight should encompass the full spectrum of human experience—life, progress, and hope—not just despair. Here are some critical points to question and challenge the validity of death-centric prophecies:

1. Why Only Death, Not Life or Advancement?

Prophecy, especially if inspired by scripture, should reflect the balance seen in divine interventions throughout history. In scripture, figures like Elijah and Enoch are associated with extraordinary advancements, such as Elijah’s “ascent into heaven” in what could be interpreted as a spacecraft-like chariot of fire (2 Kings 2:11). Such stories illustrate progress, transcendence, and the limitless potential of humanity under divine guidance.

Why, then, do modern-day “prophets” not foretell advancements like breakthroughs in medicine, science, or technology that uplift humanity? Are their visions limited to negativity because it is easier to sensationalize fear rather than inspire hope?

2. Scriptural Prophecy as a Source of Inspiration

Biblical prophecy often aimed to:

Warn people to change their ways, but also,

Guide them toward hope, renewal, and divine promises.

For example:

Joseph’s dreams (Genesis 41) led to Egypt’s survival during a famine.

Isaiah’s prophecies spoke of a coming Messiah to bring hope and salvation.

If modern prophecy is rooted in scripture, why does it not mirror this balanced approach? A prophecy that repeatedly sees death without the possibility of redemption or progress is incomplete and unaligned with the biblical precedent.

3. Is Fear-Based Prophecy Manipulative?

Foretelling death may serve as a tool of manipulation rather than revelation. Fear is a powerful motivator, but it is not necessarily constructive:

It can create division, mistrust, and anxiety.

It often lacks accountability since “death” is inevitable for everyone at some point.

This raises a critical question: Are such prophets genuinely foreseeing events, or are they leveraging fear for attention and influence?

4. The Advancement of Humanity: A Neglected Vision

Human history is filled with extraordinary achievements:

Space exploration, where humans have landed on the moon and sent spacecraft to Mars.

Medical breakthroughs, such as eradicating diseases and extending life expectancy.

Advances in communication, uniting the globe in ways once unimaginable.

If prophecies truly seek to align with divine purpose, they should inspire humanity to strive for these advancements and recognize their spiritual significance. For instance, Elijah’s chariot could be interpreted as a vision of technological progress, showing humanity’s potential under divine guidance.

5. The Role of Prophecy in Modern Society

A balanced and meaningful prophecy should:

Celebrate life and highlight paths to fulfillment.

Warn against dangers, but also provide solutions.

Encourage humanity to embrace progress and the divine potential within.

By contrast, focusing only on death dismisses humanity’s ability to grow, create, and overcome challenges. Prophecies that perpetuate fear rather than foster inspiration fail to serve their higher purpose.

6. Conclusion

Death-centric prophecies lack the depth and relevance that true foresight demands. They ignore humanity’s divine capacity for innovation, progress, and resilience, as exemplified throughout scriptural history. If prophecy is to be taken seriously, it must move beyond fear-mongering and address the broader context of life, hope, and the endless potential for advancement.

Instead of accepting one-dimensional predictions, society should demand prophecies that uplift, inspire, and reflect the richness of the human experience—prophecies that see not just the inevitability of death, but the boundless possibilities of life.

7 Drown In Goromonzi Dam Horror

By Munacho Gwamanda-Seven children from the Green Valley suburb in Goromonzi have tragically drowned in a dam described by locals as a “death trap.”

The incidents occurred between November last year and January this year, with the latest victim, a 16-year-old boy, succumbing to the dam’s perilous waters on Tuesday.

The dam, situated east of Harare in Goromonzi district, features a dam wall over five meters high that creates an alluring artificial waterfall.

While it may appear harmless, the deep waters behind the wall and floating weeds mask a lethal danger, particularly during the rainy season when water levels rise.

Residents voiced their concerns about the site, which has become a magnet for children. “On the surface, there is a lot of floating weeds, but the depth behind the dam wall is deceptive. Children swim there and drown,” said one local.

Another resident shared chilling accounts of strange occurrences in the dam. “There are stories of a mermaid. I once saw a whirlwind from the eastern side fall into the water, and the water rose into the air. Everyone fled, fearing for their lives.”

Calls for action are growing louder as locals urge authorities to secure the area. “We need a fence or concrete barrier with razor wire to prevent children from accessing the water,” a concerned resident suggested.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) identifies drowning as a leading cause of death among children globally, with over 236,000 lives lost annually.

For Green Valley, this grim statistic is all too real, leaving families mourning and the community demanding safety measures to prevent further tragedies.

Prisons Close Hanging Gallows, Turn Them To Museum

By James Gwati- The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) has repurposed the infamous hanging gallows at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison into a museum and radio broadcasting studios.
This transformation marks a significant step following Zimbabwe’s recent abolition of the death penalty.

The gallows at Chikurubi were originally used in the 1970s to execute offenders.

The last execution at the facility took place in 1979 before the execution chamber was relocated to Harare Central Prison, where the death penalty was last carried out in 2005.

Since then, Zimbabwe had maintained an unofficial moratorium on executions, culminating in the formal abolition of capital punishment under President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.

Brian Moyo, Director of Corporate Chaplaincy Services for Bridging the Gap Foundation, hailed the initiative, saying, “This transformation signifies a genuine commitment to respecting United Nations human rights practices. We applaud the government and ZPCS for leading this reform, and we thank President Mnangagwa for championing the abolition of the death penalty.”

The project has drawn technical support from the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ).

Matthias Chakanyuka, BAZ’s technical director, noted the site’s suitability for broadcasting purposes: “After our assessment, we determined that this place is ideal for a radio station, with all necessary facilities in place.”

Chikurubi’s Officer in Charge, Chief Superintendent Alfred Machingauta, described the psychological toll of the death penalty, saying, “I have interacted with individuals who were on death row, and their experiences were profoundly traumatic. Transforming these facilities gives new meaning to a place once associated with despair.”

ZPCS Commissioner General Moses Chihobvu highlighted the practical benefits of the conversion: “This initiative allows us to generate revenue through museum visits while also symbolizing our alignment with modern penal reforms and the abolition of the death penalty.”

Zimbabwe’s death penalty history is intertwined with its colonial and post-independence legal systems.

Executions were a common feature during the 1970s and early 1980s, primarily targeting political dissidents and convicted criminals.

However, no executions have been carried out since 2005, owing to growing advocacy against the practice and a lack of a hangman willing to perform the grim task.

The abolition of the death penalty is a milestone in Zimbabwe’s justice system.

President Mnangagwa, himself a former death row inmate during the liberation struggle, has been a vocal advocate against capital punishment.

His government’s approval of the bill to abolish the death penalty demonstrates Zimbabwe’s commitment to aligning with global human rights standards.

Located on the outskirts of Harare, Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison houses over 2,000 inmates, with the majority serving long sentences.

Known for its harsh conditions, the prison has been at the center of various reform initiatives aimed at improving the rehabilitation of inmates.

The conversion of the gallows into a museum and radio studios is expected to contribute to educational and awareness efforts while generating revenue for the ZPCS.

It also provides an opportunity for the public to engage with the history of Zimbabwe’s justice system, learn about the abolition of the death penalty, and explore avenues for promoting restorative justice.

This transformation represents a symbolic closure of a dark chapter in Zimbabwe’s penal history, paving the way for a new era centered on rehabilitation and human rights.

Ancelotti Backs Tchouameni Despite Hierarchy Disapproval

    Sports Correspondent

Carlo Ancelotti continues to support Aurélien Tchouameni, despite growing doubts about the French midfielder’s ability to perform as a centre-back for Real Madrid.

According to Relevo, Real Madrid’s hierarchy has expressed disappointment in Tchouameni’s performances. The gesture has raised eyebrows, as Chivayo, known for his close ties to the ruling party, shared the news on his social media platform, X.

MUKUNGUNUGWA, for his remarkable dedication to the party,” Chivayo wrote. “His unwavering efforts in publicizing ZANU PF activities and ensuring the nation remains informed about key developments in the ruling party have been truly outstanding.”

Chivayo, a controversial businessman associated with Zanu PF, has previously faced scrutiny over his wealth and business dealings.

His latest gesture has reignited questions about the sources of his fortune, particularly his penchant for rewarding loyal party members.

The gift to Mukungunugwa, often referred to as a “bootlicker” due to his strong public support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has sparked debate on social media, with critics questioning whether such acts of generosity are a way to further cement loyalty within the party ranks.

Chivayo’s distribution of cars to Zanu PF loyalists has become a point of contention, fueling further speculation about his influence within the party and the nature of his business operations. Mnangagwa Is Zanu PF Creator, Declares Youth Leader

    By A Correspondent

Zanu PF Youth League official Taurai Kandishaya has made a bold statement, claiming that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is not only a long-standing member of the ruling party but its very architect, implying that Mnangagwa is the true owner of Zanu PF.

In a passionate address on Tuesday, Kandishaya hailed Mnangagwa’s pivotal role in shaping the party, stating, “Here is the man who has been a part of ZANU PF since 1964.

He has never betrayed the struggle and remains the only surviving member of the first ZANU PF Politburo.” Kandishaya continued to outline Mnangagwa’s immense contribution to both the party and the nation, positioning him as the central figure in Zimbabwe’s political history.

“This man is not just a member of ZANU PF, but its architect, having laid the foundation and cast the pillars,” he said. “He established the National Security System of our beloved Zimbabwe.” Kandishaya went on to describe Mnangagwa as a leader who bridges the past, present, and future of Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

The youth leader emphasized Mnangagwa’s unique place in Southern Africa’s political history, noting, “As the only President in SADC who worked alongside the founding fathers of African solidarity, he embodies a perfect blend of past, present, and future.”

Kandishaya also underscored the challenges Mnangagwa has overcome throughout his political career.

“His entire political life has been marked by naysayers who claim ‘he will not get, he will fail, he cannot,’ but he continues to triumph,” he stated, commending the President’s resilience and ability to outmaneuver his detractors.

The remarks come as Mnangagwa continues to consolidate power within the party, with some party officials and analysts debating the long-term future of Zanu PF leadership.

Kandishaya’s strong endorsement positions the President as not just a leader, but as the enduring foundation of the party itself, effectively claiming ownership over its direction and legacy.

Destiny Mubaiwa Celebrates O-Level Success Amid Family Separation

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – A bittersweet moment has unfolded as Destiny Mubaiwa, daughter of Marry Mubaiwa, celebrated her O-Level success despite being estranged from her three siblings for over six years due to ongoing legal and family disputes involving Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Destiny passed her O-Level examinations with flying colors, achieving six passes. While her academic achievement is a source of pride for her mother and supporters, the absence of her siblings – Tendai, Christian, and Michael– casts a shadow over her celebration.

The three siblings, who once attended the same school as Destiny, were relocated to other institutions by Vice President Chiwenga following the initiation of his divorce from Marry Mubaiwa. This family separation has remained unresolved, with allegations that the children have not received counseling to address the emotional toll of the situation.

Adding to the distress, Chiwenga has denied Marry Mubaiwa access to her passport, blocking her from traveling abroad to receive critical medical treatment. Mubaiwa, who has faced legal and health challenges in recent years, has consistently pleaded for justice and access to her children.

The kids’ mother’s lawyers’ written requests for access to the children have been ignored.

The ongoing family dispute highlights broader concerns about the well-being of the children caught in the crossfire. Advocates and observers have raised questions about the psychological impact of such prolonged separation and the need for professional support for the children.

This development underscores the resilience of Destiny, who continues to excel academically despite the challenges surrounding her family. However, calls are growing louder for a resolution to the family’s plight, particularly regarding the children’s right to familial connections and emotional support.

As Destiny’s achievement is celebrated, many hope it will serve as a catalyst for dialogue and reconciliation within the family. For now, the Mubaiwa-Chiwenga saga remains a stark reminder of the human cost of unresolved disputes.- ZimEye

WestProp Opens $5,000 Investment In Millennium Heights Aparthotel

    WestProp

By Business Reporter-WESTPROP Holdings is now accepting investment into its novel apartment hotel at Millennium Heights, with investors expected to put in a minimum of US$5000.

So far 58 percent of the fractional shares have been swapped since launch last November.

Multiple investors can part own an apartment, which would be leased out to clients as serviced apartment accommodation for short-term stays.

The company is now educating customers on the advantages of having fractional shares in the apartment hotel.

“In Zimbabwe, we have traditionally been accustomed to owning property outright. This approach (outright ownership) often requires significant upfront capital and can be a costly endeavour, especially for first time investors,” said WestProp CEO Mr Ken Sharpe.

“That is where fractional ownership comes in. By pooling resources with like-minded investors, you can own a share of a luxury apartment hotel like Block 5 without breaking the bank,” he said.

The market is beginning to warm up to the idea, with a sizeable number of customers having snapped up shares in the branded apartment hotel and appreciating the flexibility of fractional ownership, which reduces risk and makes it more affordable.

“After the first year of operation as an aparthotel, investors can expect returns of at least 8 percent. However, as the property values increase and the hotel’s occupancy rates grow, so too will be the return on investment,” he said.

Mr Sharpe says investors should take up the offer and prepare for their future and that of their children. This is a sure way into long term secure investment. With the guarantee on the returns, it is surely a game changer in the property space in Zimbabwe. This offer is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, where one can have his/her cake and eat it too.

“Do not miss out on this opportunity to invest in Zimbabwe’s future and secure a share of the profits,” he said.

WestProp is concluding a deal with an international hotel brand currently not in Zimbabwe that has amassed enough experience in the marketing and managing of serviced apartment accommodations, popularly known as Air BnBs.

Millennium Heights Block 5 will have amenities such as concierge services and exclusive recreational facilities for the occupants on the Block, such as a swimming pool, kids play area, and gym, to name but a few.

    Magaya In Academic Fraud

By Munacho Gwamanda- Controversial preacher and Yadah FC owner Walter Magaya has found himself embroiled in yet another scandal, this time over his disqualification from contesting the ZIFA presidency due to failing to meet the basic educational requirement of five ‘O’ Levels.

Magaya’s disqualification was revealed in his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), where he is challenging the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)’s decision to bar him from the January 25 elections.

ZIFA’s rules demand that presidential candidates possess at least five ordinary-level passes—a benchmark Magaya could not meet.

In his appeal, Magaya admitted to failing to submit the required O’ Level certificates, claiming instead that his “superior qualifications,” including a marketing certificate, marketing diploma, and theology diploma, should suffice.

“The appellant seeks a determination that his qualifications, which include a higher certificate in Marketing, a national diploma in Marketing, and a higher certificate in Theology (Cum Laude), exceed the requirement of five O’ Levels,” reads his submission to CAS.

Despite these claims, Magaya’s lack of basic academic qualifications disqualified him from the elections, prompting him to argue that the rule was discriminatory and designed to exclude certain candidates.

Magaya has not only approached CAS but has also filed an urgent application in the High Court to halt the ZIFA elections until his case is resolved.

Justice Tawanda Chitapi deemed the matter urgent, with proceedings set for Friday.

In his appeal to CAS, Magaya argued that ZIFA’s requirement was unfair and contrary to the statutes governing football administration.

He wants CAS to overturn ZIFA’s decision, allow him to contest, and compel the football body to pay his legal costs.

Magaya’s legal woes extend beyond the ZIFA saga.

Critics have questioned his credibility, pointing to past controversies involving allegations of fraud and deception.

This latest revelation adds to a growing list of scandals that have dogged his career as both a preacher and a businessman.

Magaya is not alone in his fight. Firebrand politician Temba Mliswa, who was also disqualified from the ZIFA elections, has filed a separate legal challenge.

Mliswa’s matter is also being treated as urgent and is set to be heard this week.

As Magaya’s credentials face public scrutiny, his fight to contest the ZIFA presidency raises questions about standards in football administration and the lengths some are willing to go to secure power.

Chimombe And Mpofu Denied Bail Again

By Court Correspondent | ZimEye | High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda has once again denied business partners Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu bail.

The two are accused of abusing US$7 million public funds in a botched presidential goats deal.

Kwenda said the two face a 20 year jail term if convicted because they abused public funds.

Regarding the seriousness, I have looked at the penalty…the presumptive penalty for fraud is 20 years.

    Prof Lovemore Madhuku

“If a fraud involves public funds and involves a huge prejudice the sentence will be severe.

“I’m persuaded that the presumptive sentence knowledge of the penalty remains, and is likely to influence the applicants to flee,” he said.

“A presumptive sentence is where the court starts from. It must consider that sentence first, it can go down it can go down.

“These sentencing guidelines tend to be followed. In this case it provides for two presumptive sentences.

Kwenda said where the prejudice is insignificant it can be six months.

“Where the item, funds, or property is of high value or state funds, it will be an aggravating factor.

“If the fraud is committed by an offender who is holder of a public office, it is an aggravating actor and the court should start from there.

“If it involves public funds, it is an aggravating actor and the court should start from there,” he said.

“I do accept the submission by the State that the situation has turned for the worst in the sense the applicants have another pending matter which also involves abuse of public funds. This weighs against them.

“I therefore find that two of the compelling reasons by the magistrate that the applicants are facing a serious offence and can interfere …the application bail cannot succeed and I therefore dismiss it,” he ruled.-ZimEye

Businessman Nabbed For Theft Of Trust Property

A local businessman allegedly disposed of property worth US$100 000 in violation of a liquidation order which had been issued by the High Court.

Brian Kudakwashe Matongo was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Isheanesu Matova yesterday.

The complainant is Albitrim Enterprises, which is being represented by Oscar Tafadzwa Gasva, who is a legal practitioner and was appointed as the liquidator.

The court heard that on October 16, 2019, the High Court granted an order, which placed the company under a provisional liquidation.

On December 18, 2019, the High Court issued another order, placing Albritim Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd under liquidation and Gasva was nominated as the liquidator.

The company declared its assets as two Freight Liners FLD 120 Horses, registration numbers ADC 1047 & ADC 1048, one international Horse reg number ADC 7365, a Homemade Trailer registration ACZ 9845, a Tandem Local Trailer ACZ 9975 and a Trinity Local Semi Trailer registration number AEG 1774.

It is the State case that Matongo, knowing very well that an order by the High Court had been granted and that he was not supposed to conduct any business or to dispose any of the assets without the knowledge and permission of Gasva, violated this order by disposing the assets and converted the money to his own personal use.

The total value stolen was US$100 000 and nothing was recovered.

    Dembare Lose Star Defender

    Sports Correspondent

In a significant blow to Harare soccer giants Dynamos FC, star defender Shadreck Nyahwa has made a shocking exit from the club. Nyahwa has reunited with his former coach, Herbert Maruwa, at TelOne FC, marking a major transfer coup for the club.

Nyahwa, widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier Soccer League, had been a key player for Dynamos FC. His departure is a substantial loss for the team, and fans are likely to feel the impact of his absence.

In a cryptic social media post, Nyahwa seemed to celebrate his move, writing “Tambosiya zveku pusher chicken bus…” The message, while unclear, appears to reflect his excitement about the new chapter in his career.

Nyahwa’s reunion with Maruwa, his former coach at Dynamos FC, is seen as a major factor in his decision to join TelOne FC. Maruwa’s influence and guidance are likely to play a significant role in Nyahwa’s future success.

Horror As “Street Kid ” Kills Harare Man

A shocking incident occurred in Harare’s central business district, where a “street kid” named Godknows Chataika allegedly killed a passerby, Kivo Muzari, 24. According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Chataika snatched Muzari’s cellphone before pushing him, causing Muzari to fall and hit his head on the tarmac, resulting in a fatal head injury ¹.

Chataika has been arrested in connection with the murder, which took place at the corner of Kwame Nkurumah Street and Chinhoyi Street, Harare. This incident raises concerns about the safety and well-being of both residents and visitors in the city’s central business district.

Four Deadly Traffic Violations to Avoid…

As we navigate our daily commutes, it’s essential to recognize the most common and deadly traffic violations that put ourselves and others at risk.

By being aware of these hazards, we can take proactive steps to prevent becoming the next victim. In this article, we’ll explore the importance of safety advocacy and highlight four critical traffic violations to avoid.

    The Importance of Safety Advocacy

Safety advocacy is both an individual and collective responsibility. It requires each of us to take ownership of our actions on the road and look out for the well-being of others. By being mindful of our own behavior and promoting safe driving practices, we can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and fatalities.

Four Deadly Traffic Violations to Avoid

    1. Avoid Following Too Closely

Tailgating is a leading cause of rear-end collisions, which can result in serious injuries or fatalities. Leaving insufficient space between your vehicle and the one in front of you reduces your reaction time and increases the likelihood of a crash. Maintain a safe following distance of at least 2-3 seconds to ensure you have enough time to react to unexpected situations.

    1. Wrong Lane Driving

Driving in the wrong lane or failing to stay in your designated lane can lead to head-on collisions or sideswipes. Always check your mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes, and signal your intentions clearly to other drivers.

    1. Disregarding Traffic Lights

Running red lights or ignoring traffic signals is a reckless behavior that puts everyone at risk. Come to a complete stop at stop signs and red lights, and always yield to pedestrians and other vehicles.

    1. Carelessness on the Road

Distracted driving, speeding, and aggressive driving are all forms of carelessness that can have devastating consequences. Stay focused on the road, avoid using your phone while driving, and maintain a safe speed according to road conditions.

    Take Control of Your Safety

By being aware of these common and deadly traffic violations, you can take proactive steps to protect yourself and others on the road. Remember, safety advocacy is a collective responsibility, and we must all work together to promote a culture of safe driving.

Stay vigilant, follow traffic laws, and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can reduce the number of accidents and fatalities on our roads.

17 Arrested For Taking Photos At Harare Crash Scene

    By A Correspondent

Seventeen people were arrested on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, for taking photographs with their smartphones at the scene of a road traffic accident in central Harare.

The individuals, who were caught capturing images of the wreckage, were apprehended by law enforcement officers responding to the crash.

While the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident, it follows a broader crackdown on such activities.

In 2024, the ZRP warned the public against taking photos at accident scenes, citing concerns over privacy, safety, and the potential for hindering emergency response efforts.

This latest action serves as a reminder of the continued enforcement of those regulations.

Understanding the Random Multiplier in Aviator: How It Works And Affects Your Bets

Gamblers from Ghana love gambling games, especially if you can not only have a good time, but also win big. One of these games is aviator game online – a crash game where everything is decided by a mysterious random multiplier. But what is this multiplier and how does it affect your bets? If you think it’s just a random number that pops up on the screen, you’re wrong. It’s much more interesting – and useful for those who want to not only play, but win.

Let’s understand how this multiplier works and what it means for a Ghanaian player who is about to catch his jackpot.

Aviator: Why the Plane Leaves and You Are Left with No Winnings

Imagine this: you have placed a bet in Aviator game online, the aircraft starts to take off, the multiplier starts to increase: 1.1x, 1.2x, 1.5x….. If you take your winnings at 2.0x multiplier, your bet will double – you’ll get 20 GHS. But at 1.4x, the aircraft disappears from sight.

What happened? You missed the moment to cashout – the very moment when you should have pressed the button and taken your money. But this begs the question: why did the plane stop at that particular multiplier? Did someone at the casino hit the “time to drop” button? No, the random multiplier – the algorithm that predicts when the game will crash – determines that.

Principles of Random Multiplier Operation in Aviator

The best part is that the multiplier in Aviator sportybet Ghana is created using Provally Fair technology. This means that the casino cannot manipulate the result – everything is fair and transparent.

    Here’s how it works:

    • Server Seed – An encrypted code that runs through the casino;
    • Client Seed – your unique code that is created on your phone;
    • Nonce is a counter that increases with each new delivery.
    • All this data is combined and a random multiplier is created based on it. After each round you can check the fairness of the multiplier by clicking on the “Prove Fair” button in the game interface.

Why It’s Important to Understand the Random Multiplier

If you think that understanding multipliers is for programmers who like to dig into code, no! This knowledge is essential for every player who wants to maximise their winnings.

The following are three basic principles of how the random multiplier works that can change the way you approach the game.

Each Round is Independent of the Results

Many players make the mistake of thinking that if the multiplier is low in several rounds in a row, it will definitely go higher in the next one. This is a myth. The algorithm works in such a way that each multiplier changes anew and does not depend on the previous results.

The Casino Can’t Control the Multiplier

You can be sure that no one sits at the control panel and decides when your aircraft will go down. Everything is decided by an algorithm that cannot be tampered with.

    The Multiplier Determines Your Winnings

The higher the multiplier, the more money you can earn. But here it is important not to be greedy and press the “Take” button in time. Otherwise, the plane may leave without you.

The Three Main Strategies for Playing Aviator: Which to choose?

Ghanaian players, like all gamblers, fall into two categories: some want to make a big score, while others prefer to collect small but steady winnings. Here are three strategies that you can use in Aviator game online

    1. Conservative Strategy

It consists of the player taking the money in small multipliers – from 1.5x to 2.0x.

Example: You placed a bet of 20 GHS. At odds of 2.0x you took the winnings and received 40 GHS.

    ProsMinuses
Less risk of losing money Stable incomeLimited winnings
    • Aggressive Strategy

The idea is that the player is waiting for high multipliers – from 5.0x and above. This is a risky option, but if it works, you can earn solid money.

Example: You made a bid of 20 GHS. The aeroplane arrived at 10.0x and generated 200 GHS.

    ProsMinuses
Opportunity for big winnings Excitement and suspenseHigh risk of losing money

    3. Automatic Cashout

This strategy assumes that the player sets the auto-cashout function to a certain multiplier – for example, 2.5x. Once the multiplier reaches this value, the system automatically calculates your winnings.

    ProsMinuses
Less emotions and mistakes Handy for beginnersYou can run a higher multiplier

Personal Experience of a Real Player from Ghana

Let’s take a look at a true story. Kofi, a resident of Accra force, one day decided to try his hand at the Aviator game. He placed a bet of 50 GHS and decided to wait for a multiplier of 3.0x. When the multiplier reached 2.9x, he began to have doubts – should he take his money or is there more left? The plan eventually collapsed at 2.95x and Kofi was left with nothing.

“It was a great lesson,” says Kofi. “Now I always take my money out at a predetermined multiplier and don’t take any more unnecessary risks.”

How to Reduce Risks When Playing in Aviator: Tips for Beginners

To keep your bets from turning into a lottery, follow this simple advice:

    • Set a limit on wins and losses. This will help you avoid large losses;
    • Don’t chase special multipliers. It is better to choose small wins on a regular basis;
    • Study the statistics of previous rounds. Although the multiplier is random, understanding the insights can help;
    • Use the auto-cashout feature. This will reduce the risk of errors due to emotions;
    • Keep track of your bankroll. Do not play with money you cannot afford to lose.

    Conclusion

Understanding the random multiplier is not just theoretical knowledge, it is a real tool that can help you make better decisions in Aviator game. Don’t forget that the main principle of gambling is fun. If you approach betting wisely, Aviator will bring you not only adrenaline, but also pleasant winnings.

Remember that every round starts with a clean slate. Today the plane may fall early, but tomorrow it may soar above the clouds. The key is to know when to stop and take your case.

Zanu PF Heavyweight Slams Constitutional Amendment

    By A Correspondent

In a bold statement on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Killer Zivhu, a prominent Zanu PF figure and former MP for Chivi South, expressed strong opposition to the proposed constitutional amendment aimed at allowing President Emmerson Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030, beyond the current constitutional limit of 2028.

Zivhu emphasized that such changes were unnecessary and could have far-reaching negative consequences for the nation.

“Reckless constitutional amendments can have devastating effects! Let’s prioritize logic over emotions to prevent job losses, company closures & social unrest,” Zivhu warned during an impassioned speech. “Our constitution is our future.

Let’s do it right!” His comments reflect concerns over the potential for instability and the long-term repercussions of hastily enacted changes, especially with regards to the extension of presidential terms.

Zivhu’s remarks come amid growing debate over the proposed amendment, which seeks to extend President Mnangagwa’s term by an additional two years, allowing him to stay in office until 2030.

The current constitution stipulates that Mnangagwa’s second term ends in 2028, after which he would no longer be eligible for re-election under the two-term limit.

“Zimbabwe has a complex history of constitutional reform,” Zivhu noted, reflecting on the nation’s past efforts.

“The 2000 referendum was rejected, and the 2013 constitution was designed to promote democracy and stability.

Why are we now pushing for another amendment, particularly one that extends the presidency? Saka mava kuda imwe yeyi futi?” he added, questioning the logic behind attempting to amend the constitution to favor the ruling party’s agenda.

Zivhu’s comments have sparked wider discussion regarding the direction of constitutional reform in Zimbabwe and the potential consequences of altering the nation’s legal framework once again.

Critics argue that such changes should be approached cautiously to avoid undermining the integrity of the constitution, while proponents believe that amendments are necessary to address evolving political and economic realities.

As the debate intensifies, Zimbabweans are left to weigh the risks and benefits of further constitutional changes, particularly in relation to the extension of presidential terms.

Mnangagwa Owns Zanu PF, Claims Youth Leader

It Can’t… Nelson Chamisa Dismisses Mnangagwa Bid to Extend Term of Office

    By A Correspondent

Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has firmly rejected President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s attempt to extend his presidency beyond 2028. The move has sparked tension as hardliners within the ruling Zanu PF party push for a constitutional amendment to allow Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030.

Under Zimbabwe’s current constitution, Mnangagwa’s second term is set to conclude in 2028.

However, factions within Zanu PF argue that an amendment is necessary to extend his tenure, citing various reasons, including political stability and economic recovery. These calls have intensified as the party prepares for the next presidential election.

On Thursday, Chamisa, the leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), responded to the push with a defiant statement: “IT CAN’T! #TotangiraIpapo #SiqaliselaKhonapho #Godisinit,” asserting that the constitution should be respected and that the democratic process must not be undermined.

Chamisa’s remarks highlight the ongoing political struggle between Zimbabwe’s ruling party and opposition groups, with Chamisa himself being a prominent contender in the upcoming 2023 elections. The debate over the president’s term extension has become a significant point of contention, further dividing the political landscape in the country.

The opposition leader’s stance on the issue reflects his broader commitment to upholding constitutionalism and democracy, signaling that any attempt to alter the term limits will face strong resistance from his camp.

Hopewell Flunks Credibility Test On Accusing Chamisa Of Doing What He, Chin’ono, Alone Did

HOPEWELL CHIN’ONO ALLEGATIONS THAT CHAMISA BLOCKED BITI AND SIKHALA: FACT CHECK

Veteran former MP Rusty Markham has laid to rest allegations by Hopewell Chin’ono @daddyhope that suggest he was imposed by party leader NelsonChamisa to replace Tendai Biti in the 2023 elections. Chin’ono claims Chamisa blocked Biti and Job Sikhala @JobSikhala1’s careers.

    The Chin’ono tweet

Rusty Markham’s response is confirmed by several videos that suggest that it is Chin’ono himself who has used the journalism tag to shipwreck not just the two MPs, but the entire civil society which he has repeatedly accused of corruption with western embassies, and accused it of causing tension with the Ministry of Defence since 2018-2024.

In his response Markham states that he has never been ordered to what Chin’ono alleges (see screenprint).

“I was never told not to contest against @BitiTendai and not to retire by anyone,” he writes.

“I am my own man and my principles do not get swayed,” he concludes.

    @daddyhope has failed to respond.

Meanwhile, Chin’ono has other controversies, lingering-

    1. He accuses the Opposition of blocking his Govt In Exile Clinic in Aug 2024, saying he was about to use his £3 million-wealth to fund treatments for elderly citizens, yet he can’t pay a paltry $15,000 for his former employer Geoff Nyarota’s surgery, who’s only later rescued by Wicknell Chivayo.
    2. He fails to respond to evidence by Rusty Markham that the latter was never instructed by Chamisa or anyone to block Biti.
    3. He (Chin’ono) himself was captured on a recording with Tafadzwa Musekiwa at Thomas Mapfumo’s show in July 2022, personally crashing Job Sikhala’s career with gossip feeding a fake Nelson-Mandela persecution ego that suggests Chamisa is the one causing his (Job’s) suffering.
    4. It is Chin’ono himself who’s crashed the entire opposition’s career by advising the Defence Ministry to regularly descend on it to reduce tension in the period 2018-2024.
    5. It is Chin’ono himself who has celebrated the crashing of the opposition after these deployments, repeatedly saying the opposition are now corrupted such that they will now “do nothing other than tweet.”
    6. It is Chin’ono himself who’s been cited many times for using the journalism tag to silence freedom of expression.
    7. Chin’ono stands accused as a Daddy character, a manipulator, who only rose to prominence on a lie that one of the first whistleblowers accusing him over grooming, and cheque fraud allegations, an NHS expert and former ZimEye presenter, Grace Mupfurutsa, was sent by the Mnangagwa regime to a media outlet called Gambakwe in Aug 2020, something that as is clear, never happened.

Zimbabweans Exempted From English Proficiency Tests At Top Canadian University

By Munacho Gwamanda- Zimbabwean students have been granted an exemption from English proficiency tests for admission to the University of Alberta, one of Canada’s leading universities.

This decision underscores the recognition of Zimbabwe’s educational resilience and English-speaking foundation.

Ghana and Kenya are joining Zimbabwe on the exemption list, reflecting broader efforts to acknowledge English as the medium of instruction in many African countries.

Dr Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, an academic and advocate, revealed the development on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He shared:

“On April 15, 2024, I contacted the University of Alberta once again, two years after my initial request to have Nigeria added to the list of countries exempted from the English language test. While Nigeria was eventually included on that list, I used the opportunity to advocate for the addition of Ghana, Zimbabwe, and other English-speaking African countries. I am happy to see that Ghana, Zimbabwe, and Kenya have now been added to the list of countries exempt from the English proficiency test at the University of Alberta.”

Dr. Igbalajobi also thanked colleagues, including Elmond Bandauko from Zimbabwe, for their support in the advocacy that began in 2022.

The University of Alberta lists Zimbabwe as an under-recognized English-speaking country for graduate admissions. According to the university’s official page:

“Applicants from these countries are exempt from providing further English language proficiency documentation.”

For details, visit University of Alberta Admissions.

Zimbabwe’s recognition on this list highlights the nation’s long-standing tradition of prioritizing education, even amid economic and political challenges. The country boasts one of the highest literacy rates in Africa, a legacy of its post-independence emphasis on universal education.

Zimbabweans’ academic performance internationally reflects this resilience and commitment to education.

The exemption marks a milestone for Zimbabwean students aspiring to pursue higher education in Canada, removing a significant barrier and validating their educational foundation.

Venâncio Mondlane’s Wed Night Nation Address

Very well. Good evening. We are now live from the official page of Venâncio Mondlane. I hope the lighting and sound conditions are perfect for you at home watching this program. But surely, many of you were caught off guard, by surprise. So, I would like everyone connected to this page at the moment to share it with at least 30 people, 30 groups, 30 relatives, 30 friends, or 30 colleagues. And especially share it in groups. We have many groups out there, especially WhatsApp groups, which are very common these days, as well as Facebook, Instagram, and Hex (Twitter) groups. Share it via email, regular messages—there are many ways for more people to follow this live session.

Very well. What are we going to do? Well, if you’ve just joined, you’re now on the official page of Venans and Molhar, the largest Facebook page of a politician from the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP). So you’re on the right page, the right platform, to have a little conversation today. This will be a very short live session because I will announce today when the real live session will take place.

Alright, production, do we have comments already? How many people are live with us right now? Approximately 30,000? Wow! In such a short time, we already have 15,000 people live. Very well. Since today’s live session is very short, let’s go straight to the point.

For those of you just connecting now, I ask that you share this live link with at least 30 people, 30 groups, 30 friends, colleagues, or relatives. Okay? May God bless Mozambique, bless each Mozambican, and let the great light that God promised to bring to Mozambique shine brightly, turning this nation into a great one. We thank and praise the Lord. Amen.

Friends, what do we have today? First, if you’ll allow me, I want to deeply thank the Mozambicans who have been out on the streets demonstrating since Monday, clearly showing that they remain firm and determined in standing for electoral truth, justice, and integrity. They represent the true Mozambique—not a fake Mozambique, not a copied Mozambique, but the original and genuine Mozambique we all dream of for the future. I extend my deep solidarity, open heart, and a strong embrace to those on the streets.

To all the families who lost loved ones—children, parents—brutally massacred by the Rapid Intervention Unit (UIR) or the Defense and Security Forces, I send a heartfelt embrace. Today, we witnessed an inauguration—not of the elected candidate but of the one appointed by the Constitutional Council—which was nothing short of a theatrical performance, a circus-like spectacle. It was supposed to be open to the public, but it was completely militarized, with police aggression against women, including my mother, who was brutally attacked by the UIR today.

The images are now going viral worldwide, showing incredible brutality. This is not the kind of country we want for our future. We are fighting for a peaceful, honest, and just Mozambique—a nation where the police protect rather than oppress, educate rather than kill. This is the Mozambique we aspire to leave for our children and grandchildren.

The inauguration of the Constitutional Council’s appointee felt more like a funeral at a cemetery than a festive celebration. Everything was militarized, closed off, and filled with fear and threats. In stark contrast, when I was inaugurated on January 9, it was in an open, public space, close to the people, celebrating with everyone freely. What we witnessed today was a sad, restricted, and oppressive event.

However, today, I mainly wanted to share with you that I’ve gained a new student. My career as a teacher has proven successful. Listening to the governance plans of this police-appointed candidate, I realized that 95% of his measures are copied from my campaign proposals—ideas he plagiarized, down to the punctuation. Yet, none of my anti-corruption measures were included. This proves that he plans to maintain the same fraudulent system, starting with a Constitutional Council that international observers have already deemed illegitimate.

We are now faced with a government led by someone who cannot form a sentence without reading from notes, a government built on imitation and fraud.

Despite this, on Friday at 3 PM, I will host a live session on this page to outline governance measures for the first 100 days of my elected mandate. These measures will guide both the public and private sectors and show the path Mozambique must follow. I encourage everyone to join this session. Even the candidate inaugurated today should take notes.

Thank you to all Mozambicans. May God’s blessings embrace our nation. See you on Friday at 3 PM on the official page and YouTube channel of Venância Mourão. A warm hug to all. Goodbye!

More CCC MPs Exposed In Mnangagwa Farm Meeting

By Munacho Gwamanda – Twenty of the 32 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) MPs and senators who attended a field day at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm in Kwekwe on Sunday have been identified.

All attendees were appointed to parliament by Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the CCC’s interim secretary general.

Of the 32 lawmakers present, 20 were not on the original party list for the 2023 elections, including Tshabangu himself.

The CCC holds 115 parliamentary seats—88 in the National Assembly and 27 in the Senate.

ZANU PF-aligned social media platforms released a list of 34 CCC lawmakers allegedly present, including Ellen Shiriyedenga and Truswell Chikomo, both of whom denied attending.

The event, organised by Mnangagwa’s office, bypassed parliamentary protocol, with provincial ministers such as Midlands Minister Owen Ncube spearheading invitations. A letter from Ncube outlined the invitation:

“His Excellency…will be hosting Members of Parliament at his Precabe Farm, Sherwood, Kwekwe…”

Tshabangu gained prominence after the August 2023 elections, when he declared himself interim secretary general, orchestrating recalls of CCC representatives and filling vacancies with loyalists.

His actions led to ZANU PF dominating subsequent by-elections.

Most lawmakers attending the farm event were Tshabangu’s appointees, while 83 CCC members boycotted, viewing the gathering as a partisan initiative to bolster Mnangagwa’s political agenda.

Herald Names ED’s Murder-Cover-Up-Man, Sengezo Tshabangu, Leader of the Opposition

By Farai D Hove | In a development that further confirms long-standing suspicions that Sengezo Tshabangu has always been an undercover agent for ZANU PF, Zimbabwe’s state-owned Herald newspaper has bestowed upon him the title of “Leader of the Opposition.” This extraordinary move has left opposition supporters outraged and questioning Tshabangu’s loyalties, given his notorious history of covering up election-related violence and murders orchestrated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime.

    Sengezo Tshabangu with Jacob Mudenda

    Tshabangu’s ZANU PF Ties Exposed

Tshabangu’s controversial role as Mnangagwa’s loyal operative dates back to 2008, during Zimbabwe’s blood-stained election period. He has been implicated in concealing the regime’s brutal post-election violence, including incidents where Mnangagwa himself admitted deploying soldiers to crush dissent and alter election outcomes.

One of the most damning incidents occurred on December 4, 2023, when investigative journalist Simba Chikanza caught Tshabangu red-handed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, allegedly orchestrating a cover-up operation for ZANU PF following the murder of Bishop Tapfumaneyi Masaya. This brazen act reinforced what many had long suspected: Tshabangu was not merely a ZANU PF collaborator but a key player in protecting the regime from accountability for its atrocities.

    Herald’s Unprecedented Move

In its article, the Herald portrayed Tshabangu as a bridge-builder, applauding his engagement with ZANU PF as fostering “a healthy democracy.” The state propaganda mouthpiece conveniently omitted Tshabangu’s well-documented involvement in shielding Mnangagwa from the fallout of politically motivated killings, instead framing him as a “mature” opposition leader committed to advancing national development.

The Herald even quoted Tshabangu defending his overt collaboration with Mnangagwa, stating, “It is certainly strange reasoning to suggest that an opposition which engages with the ruling party is ‘selling out.’” This statement has sparked widespread criticism, with opposition activists labeling Tshabangu a Trojan horse in their midst.

    Tshabangu’s Loyalty to Mnangagwa: A Long-Running Affair

Tshabangu’s allegiance to Mnangagwa is well-documented. During the 2018 Motlanthe Commission hearings, tasked with investigating post-election violence, Tshabangu delivered a surreal defense of Mnangagwa, describing him as “lovely” and portraying him as a victim of state conspiracies.

“In 2008, political violence erupted due to disputed elections, and the army and state agents were at the forefront of killing people,” Tshabangu said. “Yet in 2017, when our lovely Mnangagwa, now the President, was almost killed with ice cream in Gwanda, where were these state agents? President Mnangagwa wants things done professionally; this is why he put this Commission in place.”

Critics were quick to point out the absurdity of Tshabangu’s testimony, given that Mnangagwa himself publicly admitted deploying soldiers to suppress protests, resulting in numerous deaths. Tshabangu’s remarks were viewed as part of a broader strategy to sanitize the President’s image while demonizing internal dissent within ZANU PF.

    Opposition in Crisis

The CCC, Zimbabwe’s main opposition party, now faces a serious credibility crisis with Tshabangu at the center of controversy. While CCC activists accuse him of betraying the party’s cause, Tshabangu continues to defend his interactions with Mnangagwa’s government, claiming they are necessary for national progress.

However, many believe Tshabangu’s collaboration with ZANU PF goes far beyond mere political engagement. From his involvement in election-related violence cover-ups to his role in shaping narratives that absolve Mnangagwa of blame, Tshabangu has consistently acted as an extension of the ruling party’s machinery.

    A Troubling Legacy

Tshabangu’s elevation by the Herald underscores the depth of ZANU PF’s infiltration of opposition politics. For years, Tshabangu has shielded Mnangagwa’s regime from scrutiny, earning his place as a trusted agent within the ruling party. His new title as “Leader of the Opposition” is seen by many as the culmination of his covert mission to weaken Zimbabwe’s democratic institutions from within.

As Zimbabweans process this latest twist, the question remains: how long can Tshabangu continue to masquerade as an opposition figure while serving the interests of ZANU PF? For those who have lost loved ones to political violence, the Herald’s declaration is a chilling reminder of the regime’s ability to manipulate and subvert even its supposed adversaries.

Linda Masarira Speaks On Motion To Amend Term Limits …

Statement on the Motion to Amend Term Limits for Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Government Officials

    15 January 2025
As Labour Economists and Afrikan Democrats (LEAD), we have consistently advocated for governance reforms that reflect the unique cultural, historical, and societal realities of Zimbabwe. The proposed motion to amend term limits in the Constitution provides an opportunity to rethink and redefine our governance system to better serve the needs of Zimbabweans and foster an egalitarian society. It is time for us Zimbabweans to have an honest dialogue about governance systems that truly work for us as a nation, free from external impositions.
Western democracy, with its emphasis on elections and rigid term limits, is a foreign concept that was imposed on African nations through donor-funded constitutional processes. These processes often fail to capture the aspirations of the people, instead reflecting the interests of external stakeholders and civil society organizations funded by these donors. It is no wonder that these systems have resulted in cycles of political instability, economic stagnation, and societal polarization.
Zimbabwe must chart a new path, one that is informed by the principles of Pan-Afrikanism, Afrocentric governance, and inclusive development. Countries such as China, Japan, and Russia have implemented governance systems that prioritize continuity, long-term planning, and cultural relevance. Zimbabwe can and must explore alternatives that work for its people, rather than clinging to systems that do not align with our realities.
    The Necessity of Public Engagement
Any changes to the governance system, including term extensions, must be informed by the will of the people. Public engagement is not merely a formality but a necessity for building trust and ensuring inclusivity. LEAD calls for a national dialogue that engages communities at all levels, rural and urban, youth and elders, workers and entrepreneurs to collectively decide on a governance system that reflects their aspirations.
    This dialogue should include:
    Nationwide Consultations
Town hall meetings, focus groups, and surveys to gather the views of diverse communities.
    Educational Campaigns
Initiatives to inform citizens about the implications of term extensions and alternative governance models.
    Stakeholder Participation
Inclusion of traditional leaders, religious groups, labor unions, youth organizations, and other civic groups to ensure all voices are heard.
A Clear Roadmap for Term Extensions
If term extensions are to be considered, they must be part of a broader roadmap that addresses:
    National Development Goals
Clear benchmarks for economic growth, social equity, and infrastructure development linked to extended leadership terms.
    Checks and Balances
Mechanisms to prevent abuse of power, such as periodic performance reviews and citizen oversight bodies.
    Accountability Frameworks
Transparent processes to ensure that extended terms are used to benefit the nation, not entrench individual power.
    Exploring Alternative Governance Systems
LEAD believes that Zimbabwe can draw inspiration from governance models that prioritize cultural alignment, inclusivity, and long-term development:

    1. Constitutional Monarchy with Elected Executive Powers Traditional leaders play a ceremonial role while an elected executive manages state affairs, blending modern governance with cultural heritage.
    2. Meritocratic Governance
Inspired by China, where leadership is based on proven competence and performance rather than rigid electoral cycles.
    3. Hybrid Systems
Combining elements of democracy with indigenous decision-making structures, such as community councils and traditional courts.
    4. Proportional Representation
A system where all groups, regardless of size, have fair representation in governance, promoting inclusivity and reducing political polarization.
      Conclusion
This motion challenges Zimbabwe to confront the limitations of its current governance system and engage in a transformative dialogue about its future. As LEAD, we remain committed to fostering a system that is inclusive, egalitarian, and reflective of the aspirations of all Zimbabweans. Let us seize this moment to chart a path that prioritizes national cohesion, sustainable development, and the empowerment of all citizens.

    Chelsea Drop Crucial Points

The Premier League saw several unexpected results over the weekend, with Chelsea and Manchester City being held to draws by Bournemouth and Brentford, respectively.

At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Liverpool, thanks to Chris Wood’s 13th Premier League goal of the season. Wood’s impressive form has him just one goal shy of his seasonal best in the competition.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s struggles continued as they dropped points for the fifth consecutive time, being held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. Cole Palmer’s impressive performance was a bright spot for the Blues, as he became the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard to reach 20 goals and assists in the Premier League in consecutive seasons.

West Ham United, under new manager Graham Potter, secured a comfortable 3-2 win over Fulham, with the Hammers scoring with both of their first two shots in the Premier League under Potter’s tenure.

The biggest upset of the weekend, however, came at the Gtech Community Stadium, where Brentford came from behind to draw 2-2 with reigning champions Manchester City. The result marked the first time this season that City have failed to win consecutive league games.

Odinga Reaches Out To Mnangagwa For Support…

    Another Army General Dies

    Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba

By Munacho Gwamanda-The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has announced the death of Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba, raising further speculation about the spate of deaths among senior military officials linked to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Major General Siziba passed away early this morning at KG6 Hospital in Harare after a protracted battle with cancer.

    He was 67.

In a statement, ZNA Deputy Director of Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Tichafa Mungofa, expressed condolences: “It is with a heavy heart that the Zimbabwe National Army announces the passing on of Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba this morning at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks Camp Hospital in Harare.”
Mourners are gathered at 572 Bulawayo Drive, Killarney, Bulawayo, and funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

Major General Siziba’s death adds to the growing list of high-ranking military officials who have died under unclear or contentious circumstances since President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rise to power through a military coup in 2017.

The coup, which ousted long-serving leader Robert Mugabe, was spearheaded by then-General Chiwenga.

The death toll of Chiwenga’s allies has stoked speculation about a shadowy campaign of political elimination.

Among the most notable were Foreign Minister Sibusiso Moyo, Agriculture Minister Perence Shiri, and over ten other senior military figures loyal to Chiwenga.

Tensions between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga have escalated as the President pushes for constitutional amendments to extend his tenure beyond the 2028 term limit.

Insiders claim this defies a 2017 post-coup agreement, under which Mnangagwa would serve two terms before handing over power to Chiwenga.
“Mnangagwa’s refusal to honor this agreement has alienated Chiwenga’s faction,” a senior Zanu PF official revealed. “The systematic sidelining of Chiwenga’s military allies is part of a broader strategy to consolidate Mnangagwa’s hold on power.”

Zanu PF insiders warn that Mnangagwa’s maneuvers could destabilize the fragile political balance.

The Vice President’s faction, comprising disillusioned military elites and marginalized party stalwarts, is reportedly weighing its options, with some analysts cautioning that another coup cannot be ruled out.

“Cornered, President Mnangagwa now needs formal parliamentary approval and military neutrality to remain in power beyond 2030,” political analyst Mutodi noted. “Chiwenga’s camp may see this as an opportunity to challenge his legitimacy.”

With Zanu PF’s history of internal power struggles often spilling into national crises, Mnangagwa’s determination to prolong his rule could plunge Zimbabwe into yet another chapter of uncertainty.

Military interventions, factional purges, and deepening instability loom as plausible outcomes of the escalating conflict.

Vice President Chiwenga was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.

Marry Mubaiwa’s Application for Permanent Stay Of Prosecution Drags On

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Top Harare lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa has blamed prosecution for stalling progress in a matter Marry Mubaiwa, vice president Constantino Chiwenga’s former wife is seeking permanent staying of her prosecution because of her ill health.

Mubaiwa last year approached the High Court seeking relaxation of her trial.

She made the same request at the lower court where magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka trashed her application, ruling that the former model is to blame for delaying her trial.

    Marry Mubaiwa at court today

In a latest update, Mtetwa said the state has failed to upload documents that parties agreed with regards to a directive by the presiding judge, Pisirayi Kwenda who ordered some investigations before he decides whether Mubaiwa’s prosecution should be stopped or not.

As a result, the court could not sit on Wednesday.

Mtetwa told journalists that the court will now sit this Friday for the judge to be updated on where the investigations are.

“There was a case management today where there will be an update on the investigations which the judge said was necessary to be done before he can decide whether or not our application of permanent stay should succeed or not.

“So when we were last in court he said we should agree that investigation should proceed, and we exchanged correspondence and agreed on the issues and sent the issues to the prosecution department on 12 of December.

“Unfortunately for some reason they did not upload it or scan and send to the judge although it was an agreed document.

“So we are coming back on Friday 10 so that the judge can be updated on where we are with that process,”Mtetwa said in an interview.

Late last year Mtetwa applied for permanent stay of her prosecution submitting that she is always sick.

The model who is battling lymphodema had two of her limbs, the right hand and left leg amputated last year.

Her lawyer said her client is always in and out of hospital because of her condition.

She is on trial for attempting to kill the former Army General when he was sick and admitted at a hospital in South Africa.

Mubaiwa is also facing money laundering charges but her criminal cases have taken long due to her poor health.

Her lawyer said it would be best if her prosecution is stayed because the former model cannot even give her instructions.

A similar request was also made at the High Court.

Mtetwa insisted that her client has rights to a fair hearing and cannot be subjected to the dock in her current condition.

“Applicant cannot fully enjoy the right to a fair hearing which I am advised includes the right to be physically and mentally capable to follow the full proceedings, the capacity to give instructions to one’s legal representative throughout the proceedings and if put on her defence , the right to cogently testify on the issues raised in evidence and to generally give her version of events.

“I am able to say that the applicant is currently unable to fully exercise all of those rights due to all the issues I have raised above. In particular, I point out that with regards the money laundering case, the State papers were provided to the defence when the applicant was already on heavy medication, had already lost a limb and was trying to avert the loss of her leg.

“Consequently, she has been unable to give instructions on the documents supplied by the State in November, 2023 with the result that her legal team only has general instructions from the period of her arrest when no document had been provided save for the general allegations given on remand,” Mtetwa said.

Mtetwa had said it would be in the interest if justice if her client is given a break adding that the court has the inherent power to terminate uncompleted proceedings where exceptional circumstances exist and where continuation of the proceedings would result in miscarriage of justice and would be incapable of being redressed in any other manner.- ZimEye

    Importance of Road Safety Advocacy…

We Will Resist Extension Of Mnangagwa’s Term Of Office, Chamisa Aide Declares

    By A Correspondent

Former CCC Youth spokesperson Stephen Sarkozy Chuma has vehemently dismissed the Zanu PF regime’s attempts to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office beyond constitutional limits. Chuma’s strong stance comes as no surprise, given the widespread criticism of Mnangagwa’s presidency, which has been marred by economic chaos ¹.

Chuma took to social media to express his outrage, stating, “We are going to resist 2030 nonsense with venom of a puff adder. Mnangagwa has crossed the Rubicon. ED must stop this nonsense or we meet him in the streets just like November 2017.” He further emphasized that this time around, protesters would not march to Blue Roof, but directly to the state house to demand Mnangagwa’s removal.

Chuma’s words are a clear indication that the opposition will not take Mnangagwa’s bid for a third term lying down. The hashtag #DefyOrDie, which accompanied Chuma’s statement, suggests a sense of urgency and determination among the opposition ranks.

As Zimbabwe teeters on the brink of economic collapse, Mnangagwa’s attempts to cling to power are being met with growing resistance. With Chuma’s statement serving as a rallying cry, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold in the coming days. One thing is certain, however: the people of Zimbabwe will not go quietly into the night.

Tsvangirai Mobilizes Citizens to Resist Extension Of Mnangagwa’s Term Of Office

    By A Correspondent

Norton Member of Parliament, Honourable Richard Tsvangirai, has strongly urged citizens to oppose the Zanu PF regime’s efforts to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office beyond the constitutional limits.

While Mnangagwa’s second term is scheduled to end in 2028, hardliners within the Zanu PF party are advocating for a postponement of the elections, enabling the President, often referred to as the “Crocodile,” to remain in power.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Tsvangirai emphasized the importance of public resistance, saying, “If this motion to extend terms is set to be tabled when Parliament opens, the reality is grim—ZANU-PF’s two-thirds majority makes it almost certain to pass. However, since such an amendment requires a referendum, this is where every citizen must stand up and mobilize.”

He further stated, “The future of our democracy cannot be left in the hands of a self-serving few. We need to come together, raise awareness, and ensure every voice is heard. A referendum is not just a vote—it’s an opportunity for the people to reclaim their power and reject the erosion of democratic principles. The time to organize and resist is now.”

Richard Tsvangirai, the son of the late Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) founding president, Morgan Tsvangirai, has positioned himself as a vocal advocate for democratic integrity and citizens’ rights in Zimbabwe.
