60yr Old Woman Caught Having Sex With 15 yr Old Boy

A ZVISHAVANE man walked in on his 60-year-old wife having sex with a 15-year-old boy on their matrimonial bed, leaving their marriage of 31 years on the rocks.
The incident which left villagers of Chimurenga-Chrome Dry in Neta tongue-tied happened on Saturday at around 9PM. Villagers said the lovebirds had been having sex behind the man’s back for “a long time.”
Sakhele Khumalo, 63, told the the state media he is sending his wife Elizabeth Khumalo packing. He said he never wanted to hear his wife’s name mentioned in his presence as she had exposed him to the ultimate humiliation by engaging in extra-marital sex with a boy young enough to be her grandson.
Elizabeth denied she was caught with the boy (name withheld because of age), and said she would only leave her husband if they shared their property.
“Elizabeth has done the worst thing imaginable. She has committed adultery with a boy the age of her grandson. I can’t take her back, she has to leave my home and the property she’s demanding will only be moved from my home over my dead body,” fumed Khumalo.
Villagers narrated how all hell broke loose on Saturday when Khumalo got a tip-off about the affair.
They said he was not on duty at his workplace but pretended to Elizabeth that he was going to work at night.
“He left home around 7PM, boarded a lift towards work before disembarking after some distance. He went to a relative’s homestead only to go home around 9PM. Upon arrival, he peeped through the window and was taken aback by Elizabeth who was screaming like a teenage girl with sexual excitement. An emotionally charged Khumalo then quietly locked the door from outside with steel wire before rushing to inform his relatives who had long known about Elizabeth’s mischief,” said a villager.
Khumalo and his relatives were treated to “pornography” as the two nude lovers were still caressing each on his bed, when the relatives smashed the door. “On realising that they had been caught, the two bolted out of the rooms naked while holding their clothes before disappearing into the darkness. Up to today, no-one knows where the boy is,” said the villager.
Elizabeth flatly denied the affair but confirmed that she had marital problems with her husband.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m a God-fearing woman who wouldn’t dare do such a degrading thing in society. While I can confirm that we’ve marital problems with my husband, what people are saying is a lie. We’ve problems like any other family and our issue is being handled by the police as Khumalo is refusing to release my property,” said Elizabeth.
A villager, who identified himself as Michael Ndlovu, told the state media the teen had been having an affair with the granny behind Khumalo’s back for a “long time.”
“The affair between Elizabeth and the boy had become the talk of the village. Khumalo used to regard the boy as his son who does piece jobs in the village. He never thought he could be a rival suitor,” said Ndlovu.

Gukurahundi Troubles Zimbabwe’s History

One of Zimbabwe’s renowned historians and educationist, Dr PhathisaNyathi, has vowed to write history that includes Gukurahundi as it is known, rather than distorting the truth out of fear.
He was addressing guests at a recent talk –show which was organised by Her Zimbabwe, an organisation headed by FungaiMachirori, who is daughter to one of Zimbabwe’s best female journalists and former Chronicle editor, Edna.
“History must not be distorted because of the writer who would want to be self-censored for fear. If one cannot write the truth about the Zimbabwean history, then he or she must just desist from doing so, because only the truth is needed for tomorrow’s generation,” said Nyathi. [continue reading…]

The former secondary school teacher and headmaster spoke hard on people who pretend to be historians, but behind writing half-baked information that will further misinform the next generation.
Several speakers who were at the Bulawayo club for the event, expressed fear on telling the truth about Gukurahundi which was the worst nightmare for the people of Matabeleland, because this is when thousands of Ndebeles were slaughtered  in the name of restoring order in Zimbabwe.
Former Minister of the defunct Ministry of National Healing, David Mzila-Ndlovu, was has been quoted in the media expressing that his mother was killed during the Gukurahundi era. He revealed that his mother was tied onto a vehicle and dragged leading to her murder by the fifth brigade in the mid-80s.
Nyathi also told the Matabeleland youths  present at the talk-show, to stand up for the truth, and also to be brave if they want to achieve their goals. “You must stand up and rise to the truth, don’t be self-censored, because you will compromise the truth,” added Nyathi.
Raisdan Baya, an artiste and novelist, also appealed to the youths to be united and also to be bold on everything they want to do in life. His sentiments were also echoed by Soneni Gwizi, a disabled broadcaster and activist, who strongly discouraged fear and lack of confidence among the new generation.

ZESA Squanders Thousands Buying Grace Mugabe Flowers

At a time when the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) is struggling to pay its own workers , the parastatal has splashed thousands on media-‘flowers’ splashed on First Lady Grace Mugabe, attracting criticism even from people such as ZANU PF prolific activist Fidelis Fengu.

ZESA paid for advertorial flowers in the public media congratulating First Lady Grace Mugabe for her appointment as Zanu PF secretary for Women’s League.

The move has caused outrage as analysts said Zesa was a public institution and it was not right for them to spend public money for partisan political party interests.

Following the appointment of Justice minister Emmerson Mnangagwa and former Ambassador to South Africa Phelekezela Mphoko as first and second Vice-Presidents respectively, new 10 ministers and Grace as secretary for Women’s League by President Robert Mugabe, Zesa has placed several advertisements on the public media, congratulating them for their appointments.

Youth empowerment activist, who is also a Zanu PF member, Fidelis Fengu said he believed that ZESA is an institution meant to serve the wishes of the people and should not be spending money on politics.

“Zesa should not spend any money on the politics of the nation,” he said.

“They should stick to their core business.
“They have no business trying to please politicians.
“Yes, the First Lady was chosen by the people, but the same people expect ZESA to deliver on its mandate, even the First Lady wants the people to be happy, so if Zesa spends money on politics even the First Lady won’t be happy.”
Human rights and governance expert, Dewa Mavhinga said Zesa’s “sycophantic congratulations” to the Vice-Presidents and Grace showed just how partisan and politicised State institutions have become.
“In a properly functioning democracy, heads of state institutions like Zesa should not be boot-licking politicians to keep their posts, they should simply deliver professional services like reliable electricity to Zimbabweans,” he said.
“Unfortunately, in Zimbabwe, state institutions compete to align themselves with Zanu PF in order to survive — all professionalism is gone.”
Western region chairman of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions Reason Ngwenya described the adverts as an abuse of public funds.
“As a public institution it is no doubt that the money they use to place those advertisements in the media are from us,” he said.
Women of Zimbabwe Arise leader, Jennifer Williams also said the abuse of the public funds from Zesa started at the time when the ministers ordered the channelling of funds from the parastatal to fund the First Lady’s campaigns.
“It is grossly irresponsible for Zesa to channel funds to political activities,” she said.
“It is not corporate responsibility as this is happening at a time when there is rampant load shedding, some institutions like schools are not electrified yet Zesa priorities funding Zanu PF programmes.”
Zesa is already in the eye of a storm, as some within Zanu PF have claimed that money was taken from the parastatal to fund fired Vice President Joice Mujuru’s campaigns.
The parastatal’s congratulatory messages may be seen as a face-saver from the parastatal, as former Minister of Energy Dzikamai Mavhaire and his deputy Munacho Mutezo were fired for allegedly siphoning money from Zesa to fund Mujuru’s so called factional activities.
Efforts to get a comment from Zesa failed yesterday, as officials’ phones went unanswered. – Newsday/Additional Reporting

Furor as Man’s Snake Invades House, Struck Dead

gokwe750In a bizarre situation that may force Chief Njelele to call for another traditional Indaba to look into a witchcraft quagmire that has rocked his homeland of Gokwe, a man in his late 60s demanded the life of a snake which was killed by Nyaradza township residents in the agro-town last week.
The snake which was causing unrest for the residents of the mentioned suburb, was entering houses of the residents and eating their foodstuffs at night. According to Ms Sibongile Gwabe, “the snake would open basins and feed itself from our left over meals. I saw the reptile with my own eyes eating from our dish at midnight while sitting on its tail, and I was at a loss of words,” she said shaking her head.
The neighbours organised and set a trap for the troublesome reptile and surrounded it, after they sprayed paraffin on all possible ways out. The residents then hit the snake with logs before taking it outside for view by the anxious crowd, who have estimated it to be close to two metres long.
Gwabe alerted her neighbours who thronged the place in droves as they also had seen the reptile in their houses before. The fellow citizen then teamed up and killed it before burning the reptile in paraffin and plastic papers fire.
“The snake started rising in the flame, (somewhat) threatening to free itself, but we were prepared to deal with it severely, because we wanted to have peace,” said another resident who identified herself as Mai Rudo.
As if it was not enough, in the early hours of the morrow day, an old man of about 68 years visited all the neighbours who gathered to kill the reptile and threatened with death if they don’t bring life to the snake they killed the previous night.
Nyaradza Township is a middle suburb in Gokwe town, with a population of a little over 3000 people. They reported the man to their residents’ chairperson, who alerted the police. The Gokwe Police referred the issue to Chief Njelele, as they said it was was more to do with cultural repercussions, carrying no criminal element in it.
Asked to comment, Chief Misheck Njelele blamed all witchcraft issues in his area on gluttony and egocentricity. “I will have to meet with my colleagues this time to clear off all evil doers from Gokwe. We have been tarnished enough and we have had enough of these issues,” he said angrily.
Last time an owl picked a male matured dog in broad day light during a traditional meeting that was called by chief Njelele to deal with witchcraft issues, and he had to call for an urgent meeting concerning the issue.
Gokwe has in recent years been awash with witchcraft scandals that left property investors with numerous questions on whether to build or not.

Didymus Mutasa Hopes for Political Asylum in India

ZANU PF’s expelled Secretary for Administration, Didymus Mutasa is consulting on options of getting political protection from India where he is domiciled at present.
ZimEye caught up with Mr Mutasa on Monday morning who spoke on his wife’s condition and replied back on the foreign protection issue. Mutasa who revealed he is seeking the assistance of foreign governments to deal with Mugabe, emotionally and abruptly fired back when further drilled in particular on his hopes of getting political asylum as speculated at the weekend. “I do not speak to the press (about that),” he said.
Mutasa however revealed his latest protest and attempt to get sympathy of foreign governments as he declared that Robert Mugabe is breaching the country’s laws. “The current Zanu-PF constitution which was adopted at the 6th congress swings all votes to the president alone and violates the supreme law of the country. It is therefore null and void,” he said.
The final outcome of Mutasa’s latest consultations were not clear at the time of writing as he refused to answer back any further.
Mutasa earlier in the year infamously earned the title “Gamatox” when he fired apparent threats to annihilate people considered a national nuisance by him. He was heavily criticised by First Lady Grace Mugabe in her whirlwind rallies as she taunted: “Pansi leGamatox!,” shortly before being sacked by the party for good.

Outrage as Mnangagwa is Likened to Jesus Christ

ZANU PF politburo members at the weekend torched storm when they likened Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to God. During a party hosted by Mnangagwa at his rural home in Zvishavane, Mnangagwa was showered with the praises as he was also referred to as “a crocodile that could have struck in 1980 but did not as it does not hunt but waits for its time.” [ALSO READ – Mnangagwa Says God Wears Gushungo Label Clothes]
News readers reacted in anger learning of the development with some crying blasphemy.” ZPF is inviting a serious judgment upon themselves. This is blasphemy of the highest order,” wrote one infuriated reader.
Report by The Standard| Choruses of praise-singing and idolising shifted from President Robert Mugabe and the First Lady to new first VP Emmerson Mnangagwa who yesterday hosted a huge party at his Zvishavane home to celebrate his elevation to the new position.
Dozens of politburo and central committee members and senior military officers attended the party during which officials lined up to sing praises to Mnangagwa who is odds on favourite to succeed President Mugabe.
Masvingo political supremo and Psychomotor minister Josiah Hungwe likened Mnangagwa to Jesus Christ, referring to him as the “Son of Man.”
Asked to introduce Mnangagwa, Hungwe went into overdrive, showering Mnangagwa with colourful adjectives and likening him to “The Holy Son of Man”. He said his rise was planned by God.

“This man who has been made VP has various names that we all know but some of the names you don’t know them…He is known as the Son of Man…I can tell you that I received several texts from Bishop Andrew Wutaunashe (leader of the Family of God church) telling me that the Son of Man will be ordained VP way before these things happen and I just told him that I had heard him because I know he is a Man of God,” Hungwe said.
Several Zanu PF officials have in the past used the Messianic analogy on Mugabe and Mnangagwa was yesterday elevated to the same “divine” realm.
Mnangagwa could have become VP in 2004 but was blocked by Mugabe who preferred Joice Mujuru at that time. A decade later, Mugabe made a summersault and last week dumped Mujuru in favour of his long-time lieutenant.
Hungwe said Mnangagwa was a patient, principled and calculative VP whose meteoric rise to political stardom was ordained by Mugabe and God.
Hungwe said Mnangagwa, affectionately known as Ngwena (crocodile) behaved like a real crocodile which does not hunt for its prey but lays in wait in muddy waters only to strike without fail at the opportune time. He said Mnangagwa was the most resilient person in the country.
“It’s a matter of calculation because a crocodile does not hunt but waits for its time…those who wanted it to strike in 1980 got it all wrong. It only caught at the right time,” he said.
In the run up to the Zanu PF Congress the attention was on the first family as Grace Mugabe addressed nationwide rallies at which she denounced former VP Mujuru, while promoting Mnangagwa’s candidacy as VP. Party officials followed her around the country singing praises to her and the president.
Mnangagwa who arrived accompanied by former Labour and Social Welfare Minister July Moyo, was full of praise for President Mugabe for the appointment.
He said his family and close team had lined up parties to celebrate his appointment.
One of the parties, Mnangagwa said, would be held in Zvimba, Mugabe’s home area to thank him for his love.
Another one will be held at Mnangagwa’s Sheerwood Farm in the Midlands mining town of Kwekwe.
“July Moyo and Mai Mnangagwa have planned these parties. The first one will be in Zvimba where we are going to invite all the newly-appointed politburo members and central committee to thank the President and his family for his love,” Mnangagwa said.
The VP said he had travelled for 52 years in the company of Mugabe, a principled leader who at 90 was still stronger than a 41-year-old because God loves him. He also said that President Mugabe had taught him very important lessons of loyalty in his life.
His wife, Auxillia, who is also in the politburo, sweated heavily all afternoon as she jumped barefoot, dancing with other Midlands women thanking God for the appointment of her husband. She went down on her knees, thanking Mugabe and his wife, Grace for the elevation of her husband.
“The Mnangagwa family comes before President Robert Mugabe and Amai Grace to thank him for this appointment, she said.
The celebrations were however not without incident as deputy Mines minister Freddy Moyo, was ejected out of the heavily fenced compound on allegations that he supported Mujuru.
Youths led by Mnangagwa’s confidante, Owen ‘Muda’ Ncube, who manned the gates, screening delegates, fished Moyo out accusing him of belonging to the Majuru cabal accused of plotting to topple Mugabe. He was labelled “Gamatox” while many people thought to be previously aligned to Mujuru were also chased away.
Zanu PF politburo members including Jorum Gumbo, Mike Madiro, Chris Mutsvangwa, Shuvai Mahofa and Chief Fortune Charumbira, among others, including central committee members jostled to shake hands with Mnangagwa.
Prosecutor General Johannes Tomana accompanied by permanent secretary for defence Martin Rushwaya led top government officials and several army generals who also converged at the VP’s mansion to congratulate him.

Tocky Vibes Snubs Tuku

Embattled 21-year-old dancehall musician Tocky Vibes pulled a shocker when he made a dramatic U-turn and refused to perform at 62-year-old musician Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi’s show last Friday.
Tuku was the main act at a show where Tocky Vibes was supposed to curtain-raise at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex and he had signed a contract with show promoter Josh Hozheri.
He, however, came at the venue but refused to perform citing that the crowd was “too small” for his calibre.
He left the venue in a huff.
It, however, emerged that Tocky Vibes had double booked and opted to fulfill a more lucrative contract in Mutare on the same night.
He had to refund Hozheri an undisclosed perfomance fee and this development angered the fans who were expecting him to perform as advertised.
Tocky Vibes’s manager Elvis Bokosha confirmed that they breached a contract with Hozheri but he blamed Hozheri for logistical bungling.
“Well, we were committed to fulfill(ing) the contract but the promoter did not keep his word because we had agreed that we perform at 2000hours,” said Bokosha.
“We went to the venue early but when we got there , the crowd was too small and our time to perform had elapsed so we had to quickly rush to another show in Mutare.”
He could not explain why they had booked two shows in different towns on the same night.
Hozheri’s mobile phone went unanswered yesterday.
This development (Tocky no-show) raises fears that Tocky Vibes might repeat the same modus operandi at the Mafikizolo show that is penciled for December 19 at the Harare International Conference Centre.
Interestingly, the line-up also features Tuku whom Tocky Vibes snubbed last Friday.
Music critics submitted that Tocky Vibes was sitting on a time bomb if he continues to compromise his professionalism.
“Fame is very dangerous, it can destroy what is otherwise great talent if you let it (go to) your head,” said Pride Benie a self-proclaimed music critic.
“ Tocky Vibes is slowly becoming another Soul Jah Love in terms of professional conduct because this is not the first time he has breached contracts.
“I remember at Airport Lounge two months ago he pulled the same stunt and its not good for his career. He risks suffering stunted (musical) growth.” Last week, he made headlines when he was accused of neglecting a love child he sired with a Marondera-based girl.
Meanwhile, despite Tocky Vibes’ no –show, the show went on smoothly and Jah Prayzah opened for the senior superstar Oliver Mtukudzi.
Tuku put the icing on the cake with a top drawer performance as he belted songs from his latest album until the wee hours of Saturday morning. – ZimMail

Obert Mpofu’s Bank Crashes, Now Completely Broke

ALLIED Bank (formerly ZABG) is reportedly on the verge of total collapse with its Bulawayo staff turning customers away and informing them that the bank has no money, and yet the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has allowed it to continue trading.
The financial institution was earlier this year reported to be under the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) surveillance amid concerns that it could be facing insolvency problems under limited operations at 15th Avenue branch.
The bank is owned by Transport minister Obert Mpofu, who was recently appointed secretary for finance in the ruling Zanu PF politburo. Mr. Mpofu’s media business, The Zimbabwe Mail newspaper, has also gone for several months without paying workers.
A group of over 15 women from Makhelwane Burial Society in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo, told Southern Eye Business that they were left stranded as their savings were practically locked up in the bank.
The women said they had not been able to access $5 957 from their account since 2012.
“Today (last Thursday) we went as a group to try and seek clarification, but bank employees told us there is no money and the institution is broke.
“They referred us to Harare for clarification, which is unfair because we never went to go to Harare to open this account,” Makhelwane Burial Society chairperson Linah Mpala said.
“We have been struggling with this bank for over a year. To make matters worse, the branch management apparently works half days and all other employees work two weeks a month meaning you find different people each time you follow up on the matter,” Mpala said.
Banks have been gagged from disclosing their capital levels to the public following a directive by former RBZ governor Gideon Gono, but 2013 ended with some banks embarking on a flurry of capital-raising initiatives to meet the central bank’s thresholds in compliance with the December 2012 minimum capital requirements of $25 million.
Allied Bank is, however, not under curatorship and is still expected to provide core services.
“We have had to fund funerals from our pockets by making contributions and some of our members take credit lines from people with the hope that they would repay when the bank makes our money available, but now everyone is stranded and frustrated,” the burial society treasurer Mavis Zireva said.
“What is painful is that bank staff that attend to us when we seek an explanation send us away and tell us to report the matter to whoever we want.
“Today they refused to give us a printout of our account, which is proof, though not consolation, that the money is still there.
“How then will we convince our members that we are not corrupt?”
When Southern Eye Business visited Allied Bank premises in the city centre, only two employees, an enquiries clerk and a teller, were manning the empty banking hall.
Efforts to get comments from management were fruitless as phones at both the 15th Avenue branch and head office in Harare continuously rang unanswered. – SouthernEye/Additional Reporting

Zambia Thrashes Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe . . . . .0
Zambia . . . . .(0)3
YOUNG CHIPOLOPOLO of Zambia scored three goals in the second half to dispatch the Young Warriors and snatch gold in the African Union Sports Council Region 5 Under-20 Youth Games in a match that marked the close of the sixth edition of the biennial completion at Barbourfields Stadium yesterday.
The Zambian Under-20 team, a class of their own, who scored 19 goals in the tournament and conceded one, had no mercy for the clueless Young Warriors, who settled for the silver medal.

Munsaka-Ishmael-tussels-Zambian-player-during-a-match–played-at-Barbout-Fields-stadium-yesterday

The only goal conceded by the Young Chipolopolo was a penalty in the 6-1 routing of South Africa in their first match of the tournament in Group B.
Zambia got their goals through gunman Patrick Ngoma with a flashing header past goalkeeper Kelvin Shangiwa in the 52nd minute, another brilliant header by Harrison Musonda four minutes later before a spot-kick converted by Solomon Sakala in the 76th minute.
It was Ngoma’s seventh goal of the tournament after scoring a brace against Lesotho in the group stages, one against South Africa and a hat trick in the sem-final on Saturday when they beat Malawi 4-0.
Coach Hector Chilombo said they had prepared well for this tournament saying the side was a “B” side of their Under-20 team.
“We prepared well for this tournament and it paid off. It is all about team work and I have stayed with these boys for three years. Zimbabwe have a good team in the youngsters and they have to build on them,” Chilombo said.
Zambia never lost or drew a match in the Region 5 Youth Games. The Young Warriors coach Tafadzwa Mashiri was disappointed.
“It is disappointing. We played well in the first half and lost concentration in the second. We lost the plot in the midfield and they (Zambia) kept on coming at us and our marking in defence was poor. But this is a developmental tournament. There is a lot of hope in the younsgters,” Mashiri said.
His usual impact players, Denzel Khumalo and Thembalethu Mthunzi who came in the second half, could not save the day yesterday for the Young Warriors.
Defender Leslie Lunga was shown the red card for a second bookable offence after he fouled Kasashi Lupiya in the 64th minute and hacked him down inside the box 10 minutes later and was given his marching orders by the Seychelles referee Keren Treddy Yocette. A penalty was converted by Sakala. – SouthernEye

ZRP Cop Caught for Armed Robbery

A Harare ZRP police officer who took a service pistol and last month allegedly went on a robbery spree, is in court for crime which he connived with two other accomplices.
Mr Kudakwashe Godini (28) hatched a plan with Nicholas Zvirevo (27) and Witness Chako (39) to rob Harare residents and were stopped during their first raid in the city, according to state papers for the charges currently on trial by Harare magistrate Mr Milton Serima.
Godini booked a pistol at Kuwadzana Police Station which he used to commit the offence.
The State, led by Mr Sebastian Mutizirwa, opposed bail on the basis that the trio was facing a Third Schedule offence. Mr Serima remanded them in custody to December 29 this year.
He advised them to apply for bail at the High Court.
It is the State’s case that on November 14, the three proceeded to Simon Mazorodze flyover armed with a pistol. Pursuant to their plan, they attempted to raid the complainant who was walking along the flyover where Godini pointed a gun at him.
The gang ordered him to lie down or risk being shot.
In a movie style raid, the complainant jumped from the flyover and landed on top of a vehicle, which was passing by under the footbridge, before they could rob him.
The complainant reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of Zvirevo, who then implicated the other two. – State Media

Mphoko Knifes Dabengwa

Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has torn into ZAPU leader Dumiso Dabengwa who he calls an architect of ZANU-ZAPU unity from as early as 1972, as he said the latter should be the last person to seek to revive ZAPU.
Speaking at the weekend, VP Mphoko poured cold water on Dabengwa weakening  the latter’s efforts to recover properties seized by Robert Mugabe’s ZANU PF during the infamous Gukurahundi massacres in which 22,000 Ndebeles were killed.
Mphoko’s statement comes as Dabengwa announced his party has managed to compile all assets seized by Mugabe and is finalising court procedures for their ultimate reclamation.   “We have come up with an inventory in order to reclaim our property…Our legal team is currently making consultations on the quickest possible methods of recovering the properties,” Dabengwa said last month.
But the VP, a ZIPRA war veteran who was Dabengwa’s junior, described Dabengwa’s work as futile and of void any legal standing. He said the Unity Accord (of 1987) signed between Robert Mugabe and the late Vice President Joshua Nkomo is fully in force 42 years after it was envisioned and 27 years after it was signed.
“It is surprising that Dabengwa claims to be reviving Zapu because he was a pivotal player in the unity between Zapu and Zanu as early as 1972,” he said.
He continued, “We were together in Mbeya and as chairman of the revolutionary council he was the one responsible for sending myself and Lookout Masuku to go and talk to the Zanu leadership about the need for unity. The unity which was later sanctified by the Unity Accord of 1987 has its roots during the struggle and Dabengwa is aware of that,” Mphoko added.

Nyambe Mulenga (Zesco United), Changwe Kalale (Power Dynamos) and Satchmo Chakawa (Green Eagles) were travelling to Lusaka aboard a Zesco United Football Club minibus when the accident happened near Green Restaurant in Kabwe.
The Zesco United vehicle is said to have collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero that had lost control. Sources at the accident scene reported that the driver of the Zesco United bus died on the scene as did three others on the other vehicle.
Nyambe Mulenga is reported to have escaped with a broken leg while there is no news on the other two players and a Zesco United official who were all taken to Kabwe General Hospital.
The players were travelling to Lusaka for a national team camp ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Didymus Mutasa Calls on President Zuma, SADC to Deal With Mugabe

Harare – Former Zimbabwe presidential minister Didymus Mutasa has called on President Jacob Zuma to alert other southern African governments about the ruling Zanu-PF’s congress last week in which he said he and vice-president Joice Mujuru were sacked from their posts undemocratically.
“We refuse to be chucked out of Zanu-PF which some of us have been in for 57 years,” Mutasa said on Saturday from India, where his wife is having medical treatment.
“We fought for ‘one man, one vote’ majority rule, which is not provided for in the current Zanu-PF constitution adopted at the 6th congress,” Mutasa said. “It gives all votes to the president alone and violates the supreme law of the country. It is therefore null and void, all that transpired at the 6th congress.”
He added: “We call on Zanu-PF to work as it was before the 6th congress which was itself unlawful,” Mutasa said. He was referring to the fact that loyalists of President Robert Mugabe and opponents of Mujuru had unilaterally changed the procedures for electing top party officials just before the congress.
Where before the top officials had always been elected by delegates at the congress, this year the party’s constitution was changed to give Mugabe the sole power.
“We appeal to SADC to adopt our position,” Mutasa said on Saturday, referring to the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the southern African inter-governmental body of which both South Africa and Zimbabwe are members.
He also appealed “to Zimbabweans to remain peaceful as we strive for the democracy that we fought for”. South Africa, on behalf of SADC, mediated the regional efforts to resolve Zimbabwe’s political crisis which came to a head in the 2008 elections when the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and its leader Morgan Tsvangirai beat Zanu-PF and Mugabe but were never allowed to assume power.
Then President Thabo Mbeki mediated negotiations among Zanu-PF and the two MDC parties for a power-sharing government which ostensibly ran Zimbabwe from 2009 until elections last year, although Zanu-PF never really relinquished control.
Zuma took over from Mbeki and mediated negotiations among the three Zimbabwe parties to try to secure a level political playing field for the 2013 elections but never really succeeded as they were held under conditions highly favourable to Zanu-PF.
Mugabe and Zanu-PF won by a landslide.
Mutasa was in charge of the vast Central Intelligence Organisation and reported directly to Mugabe as its unaudited funds come from the presidential budget.
A columnist in a privately owned Harare newspaper on Friday described Mutasa, one of Mugabe’s most loyal insiders, as one of the main “grovellers” in the cabinet prior to his dismissal last Tuesday.
Mutasa , from the eastern Manicaland province, was often accused by human rights groups and local opposition supporters of organising violence against them since the MDC emerged late 1999.
Mutasa, who has grabbed several farms from white farmers near Rusape since 2000, has allowed one evicted white farmer to grow tobacco for him on the farm Coldstream.
A Zimbabwe columnist, known as Muckraker, had little sympathy for the plight of Mujuru and her supporters. “Why didn’t Mujuru stand firm (against) violence in the ruling party… and why wouldn’t she realise Zimbabweans wanted clean water, electricity and decent life while she was on the gravy train?” he asked on Friday.

Another Man Caught Raping Donkey

POLICE in Mwenezi are hunting for a 26-year-old man, the second in three months, who was caught red-handed engaging in sex with a neighbour’s donkey.
The incident happened midday on November 30 when Tasisine Musara of Village Two, Petronella Farm, Chief Chitanda, Mwenezi was caught red handed sexually abusing a heavily pregnant donkey.
Musara was found by Silos Mvuta, a fellow villager.
Noticing that he had been caught, Musara took to his heels and Mvuta went to report the case to the police.
Masvingo police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa said police are on the lookout for Musara after he disappeared from the area soon after being caught red-handed in the act of bestiality.
“We have launched a man hunt for the man, since the day he was caught engaging in sex with the female donkey he has never been seen in the area again.
Assistant Inspector Dhewa said provision of the Criminal Law Codification Act Section 9:74 make it an offence for anyone to engage in sex with an animal. . State Media

Drama as Teacher is Caught having Sex, Flees Naked

An A Level female teacher at Gwindingwi High in Bikita ran through the streets naked last week when she was allegedly caught red-handed making love to a married teacher in the same school.
Vimbai Sithole was allegedly caught making love to Admore Mhere by his wife. Sithole sneaked out of the house naked and ran through the streets with Mhere’s wife in hot pursuit.
Mhere is a senior teacher in the same school.
Mhere refused to comment and referred all the questions to the District Education Officer (DEO), Lawrence Jenjedza.
“Talk to the District Education Officer, I am not allowed to speak to the Press,” said Mhere.
Jenjedza confirmed the incident but said investigations were still going on.
“Yes, I received such a report but I can not divulge further information” said Jenjedza.
Sources said Mhere and Sithole who are both teachers at Gwindingwi High and are neighbours in Duma Residential Suburb at Nyika had a relationship and they used Mhere’s homestead in Chikwadzi Village under Chief Marozva as their love nest.
Mhere’s wife got a tip off and set up a trap before pouncing on them while they were having it on the matrimonial bed. Sithole managed to sneak out of the house and ran naked for about two kilometres.
The irate wife tried to chase her but was outpaced leaving her with no choice but to approach the district education offices, where she launched her complaint to Jenjedza. mirror

Bloody Crocodile which killed MKD Leader Was Actually a Human Being – Evidence

The late...Liberty Mukwakwami
The late Liberty Mukwakwami

Chinhoyi- Disturbing pictures of the body of the late Mavambo -Kusile-Dawn party National Secretary for Mobilisation, Liberty Mukwakwami, said to have been killed by a crocodile last Saturday, demonstrates that he could not have been killed by the reptile as earlier claimed by ZRP Officers.
In depth photos handed to ZimEye by the Mukwakwami family and will be published at 2PM today (Sunday) [Click Here WARNING – DISTURBING IMAGES – Mavambo Leader Was Murdered]  show that the whole body is intact and there is not even a single finger or bone which was either crushed or chopped-off by the reptile now referred to as ‘ bloody crocodile’ due to the profuse bleeding Mukwakwami’s face was found in . Apart from parts of his eyes and nose that were evidently gouged out by small fish, there are no marks whatsoever of croc teeth having been applied to his body.
Mukwakwami’s body is in stark difference to that of a man killed by a crocodile at Biri dam on the same Hunyani river on Wednesday which was crushed and found split into two. Animal experts reveal a crocodile bite is 400% heavier in strength than that of the beastliest lion alive on earth.
There are several other inconsistencies which point that Mr Mukwakwami was murdered. One of the mismatches is the time it took for his body to surface on top of the water. Having been reported to have been taken by the mystery croc on Friday (not Saturday as earlier reported), Mukwakwami’s body only surfaced four days later on Monday morning which is unusual as bodies surface a day later, Chinhoyi residents have told ZimEye.
The full postmortem was not available at the time of writing.
ZimEye will be taking these investigations further with the three men said to have been prophets who were with Mr Mukwakwami at the time of his death and are the ones who have given the current witness adopted by the police.

Mujuru Allies Strike Each Other Hoax

A report by the State Media which says that expelled ZANU PF members allegedly aligned to former Vice President Joice Mujuru, have turned on each other, is a desperate hoax by the Jonathan Moyo controlled broadsheet, analysts have revealed.
A report in the Sunday Mail claimed stating “Senior Government and Zanu-PF officials who were booted out of office in recent months for their parts in a plot to unseat President Mugabe have turned against each other, trading accusations on who is to blame for their demise.
The report which speaks of the sacking of Mujuru, seven ministers and a deputy minister, is nothing more than base speculation, political analyst Gracian Ncube said of the news article which claims certain individuals are back-biting each other in a desperate effort to save their skins and prove that they succumbed to “peer pressure”.
But the Sunday Mail journalists do not quote anyone else apart from faceless sources only stating they “understand” that, former Energy and Power Development Minister Dzikamai Mavhaire and his Deputy Engineer Munacho Mutezo are no longer in good books, Mr Ncube said
He continued, “surely to think that a learned journalist sat down to write a 1000-word article based on mere “understanding,” which is clear speculation and without for once consulting the very source they allege did these things can only show a political journalist out to achieve an agenda ,” said Ncube.
“Within the whole report, you can see sophisticated mash-meshing of details bent on one thing, to create a factual precedent that will be grounds for pursuing what they started at the first, which is to prove that Joice Mujuru was planning to assassinate Mugabe,” he added.

Mnangagwa: I Will Not Revenge

Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said he will not seek to punish so called Joice Mujuru supporters and haters who “attempted to assassinate” him last Wednesday. He signaled he will neither revenge on his rival for the Presidency Joice Mujuru the state media alleges was trying to assassinate President Robert Mugabe.
Mnangagwa saying his escape from the Wednesday (last week) morning cyanide attack meant God still wanted him alive, repeatedly emphasised that he will pursue forgiveness and unity, in a speech analysts charge that it was just a borrowed sermon of Bishop Andrew Wutaunashe of the Family Of God church who is currently advising him.
“We dislodged the British who were oppressing us and this was achieved in 1980. Since then, we have been a sovereign state. We have been advocating unity. We want people to love and protect each other,” he told the State Media.
He continued, “the fact that I have received some threats on my life has nothing to do with our focus to unite our people, protect each citizen’s life.
“The sense of revenge is satanic. What happened does not affect bold people like us. The fact that I did not die means that it was not my time to die. When God’s time comes, no man born of a woman shall escape.”
On Tuesday night, intruders sneaked into Mnangagwa’s offices at Zanu-PF headquarters in Harare and sprinkled a poison on the floor and furniture.
His secretary,  Catherine Magaya, who was the first to enter the room on Wednesday morning, collapsed instantly upon inhaling the powder.

She is admitted at Harare’s West End Hospital.
Two other people – a driver,  Dzingai Mutasa, and a member of the President’s Office – were also admitted after inhaling the substance.
Magaya has said she has witnessed several bizarre occurrences in her boss’s office prior to Zanu-PF’s 6th National People’s Congress.
She recounted how a rock fell “from nowhere, landing on shef’s (chief’s) desk” and missed her head by just an inch.
Magaya also related another incident in which she twisted her neck while in what she described as a trance after opening VP Mnangagwa’s office door.
Police are investigating the poisoning case.
He was addressing State Media journalists at Queen of Peace Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Centre in Gweru.

Borrowed Speech
Meanwhile analysts charged against Mnangagwa saying he is a very vengeful man who was merely reciting a speech of his spiritual advisor Bishop Andrew Wutaunashe.
“He is just reciting what he has been told by pastor Wutaunashe,” said the South Africa based Stanca Dhliwayo.
“I have attended Wutaunashe’s church services and anyone in the church will tell you those are the Prophet’s words,” he added.

Vice President Mphoko Lucky Escape from Car Accident | State Media Version

Newly-appointed Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko yesterday escaped unharmed after his official Mercedes-Benz crashed into a truck on a section of Harare’s Enterprise Road.
The accident occurred after the driver of a T35 truck carrying wedding materials stopped abruptly in front of VP Mphoko’s motorcade.
A passenger in the truck was the only one hurt, sustaining injuries whose extent could not be immediately established.
National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba last night said the VP was quickly whisked away from the accident scene.
“I can confirm that Vice-President Mphoko was today (yesterday) involved in an accident along Enterprise Road, in the area close to the Forestry Commission. He escaped unhurt but his vehicle was damaged.
“A T35 truck which was carrying wedding material made a sudden stop on the road. Two vehicles, which were part of the Vice-President’s convoy and which were travelling in front of the Vice-President’s vehicle, successfully managed to swerve to the other side to avoid the T35.
“However, the Vice-President’s driver was unable to avoid the truck and rammed into the back of the T35, resulting in both vehicles being damaged. The Vice-President left the scene of the accident unharmed. Only one passenger who was in the T35 truck sustained injuries.”
VP Mphoko was sworn in by President Mugabe in Harare on Friday, alongside VP Emmerson Mnanganwa and seven new ministers and one deputy minister.
The accident brings into question the safety of VIPs.
In October, VP Mnangagwa, who was solely Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister at the time, escaped death by a whisker after the Mercedes-Benz he was driving was involved in an accident with a vehicle owned by Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare.
Witnesses said he was driving due east along Herbert Chitepo Avenue when the a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction made a sudden turn and encroached into the right lane, colliding with VP Mnangagwa’s car.
Both right-side doors of his vehicle were extensively damaged while the other vehicle had minor frontal damage.

A disturbing rumour gripped social networks Saturday evening claiming that Zimbabwe’s new 2nd Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has been involved in a car accident.
Details were sketchy at the time of writing with claims that the Vice President escaped the damaged vehicle unhurt. It is his wife who has had to be rushed to the hospital, the report claimed.

Telephone calls to ZANU PF Information and Publicity Secretary Simon Khaya-Moyo were failing at the time of writing.
The rumour did not state the location of the accident.
The rumours were flamed up due to the usual nature of death through accidents of high profile politicians in the country. Several officials have died in mysterious circumstances in recent years the latest being that of former Deputy Minister of Mines,  Edward Chindori Chininga; and another being that of Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa in October which some ZANU PF officials claim was meant to hurt the new VP.
The development comes shortly after Mphoko’s colleague Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa survived a cyanide poison attack on his offices which nearly slew three staff members.

The Hague Targets Only African Leaders – Ugandan President

Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has called on the nations of African to stop recognizing the International Criminal Court in The Hague, citing a bias against the continent’s leaders.
According to Reuters, Museveni told a Kenyan audience, speaking in Swahili, “I will bring a motion to the African Union’s next session. I want all of us to get out of that court of the West. Let them [Westerners] stay with their court.”
The Ugandan leader was speaking in Kenya at a ceremony marking the 51st anniversary of the country’s independence from British rule, attended by the Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. In 2012, the ICC charged Kenyatta with five counts of crimes against humanity which he allegedly committed during 2008 post-election violence in Kenya. On December 5 the ICC announced the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.
Reuters reports that Kenyatta declared at the ceremony, “I ask you all to join me in supporting my deputy and his co-accused, as they also await their overdue vindication.” Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto and another man, radio presenter Joshua Arap Sang, are still facing charges at The Hague. All three men were summoned to appear before the court in 2011, and charges followed in 2012.
The ICC in its statement complained of non-cooperation from the Kenyan government with the prosecution’s investigations into the case against Kenyatta, saying that “this failure has reached the threshold of non-compliance,” with the Rome Statute, the treaty upon which the ICC was established.
“Cunningly, they are putting Deputy President Ruto, someone who has been elected by Kenyans, in front of the court there in Europe,” said Museveni. “They have turned it into a vessel for oppressing Africa again so I’m done with that court. I won’t work with them again,” he declared.
The African Union is next set to meet in January in Addis Ababa for its 20th ordinary session. In October 2013 it held an extraordinary session with the framework “Africa’s relationship with the International Criminal Court.” The assembly requested the deferment of indictments against the Kenyan President and Vice President, and also the arrest warrant issued in 2009 for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for alleged war crimes perpetrated during the conflict in Darfur, which began in 2003.
The assembly also declared that no serving AU head of state should be required to appear before the ICC, and that the AU is in the process of expanding its Court of Justice and Human Rights to try international crimes such as genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Africa. There is no respite for ordinary Zimbabweans if the crisis of legitimacy, which is at the centre of the national challenges, is not immediately addressed.

I’m Not Under House Arrest — Mujuru

Expelled Vice President Joice Mujuru has denied that she is under house arrest.
Speaking from her residence in Chisipite, Harare, she said news wire reports that she had been placed under house arrest were “mere rumours”.
“I was at the farm now, who is peddling those rumours?” she asked the Daily News in a terse message yesterday.
Reports suggested that Mujuru, who was booted out of the presidium by President Robert Mugabe on Tuesday after being accused of attempting to remove her 90-year-old boss from power through unconstitutional means, had been placed under deadly surveillance.
She was sacked together with eight Cabinet ministers.
They were also accused of being corrupt and fanning factionalism within Zanu PF.
Mujuru staunchly denied the accusations.
She has since been replaced by ex-Justice minister Emmerson Mnangagwa, who took oath of office yesterday.
Following her dismissal, she told Studio 7: “You know some people say politics is a dirty game, this time in Zanu PF it has become dirtier. I have no capacity of doing those things. There is no way, and nobody has ever even suggested to me that these things that you are trying to do VP are wrong.
“It’s politicking; these are some of the things that were started towards congress. We were some of us, especially I, not given a chance to explain even to discuss some of these things,”she said. – DailyNews

Cyanide Attack: CIO Discharged from Hospital

One of the Presidential secretaries who suffered a cyanide attack on Wednesday, has been discharged from hospital.
The secretary only known as “Fadzai” was Friday discharged from West Hospital where she was hospitalised following the spraying of the deadly posion in Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s office shortly before he was sworn in as Robert Mugabe perceived “successor” and Deputy.
It was not possible to access medical records at the time of writing, but there was wide speculation that she was fit to go home at the time of her release. The sending home of the woman identified by the State Media as a member of the Central Intelligence Organisation, brings the number of discharges to two after a male driver of the Vice President, another casualty, was declared fit and well after treatment. Mr Mnangagwa’s own secretary Catherine Magaya remains at the institution.

Threats Are Normal.

Meanwhile Minister Mnangagwa has responded stating he is unfazed by the incident saying that death threats are a part of his life. “Threats to my life are normal. I have had these throughout my 52 years of political life; so it has become part of my life,” he told the US-based VOA Studio 7 radio station.

ZANU Youth Leader Nearly Bashed as Massive Party Fraud Destroys Farmers’ Hopes

Mudzi – ZANU PF’s 60 Year Old Youth Leader was nearly given a bashing as farmers countrywide since Thursday went into a rage against the ruling party ZANU PF “for defrauding them of of their hard earned cash which they paid for the Goverment Inputs Loan Scheme, which the farmers are yet to receive.
There was chaos all over the country yesterday as ZANU PF officials were caught between the eyes failing to explain the causes of the ‘despicable’ chaos and as distraught farmers demanded answers.
The scheme, which was a joint venture between Lasch Enterprises and the ZANU PF Youth League, has manifested an outcry in for instance the Mudzi district. Details obtained from Chimukoko village reveals that $2 was paid to AREX, $36 administration fee and $30 insurance fee, which guarantees a 25kg of maize seed, 8x50kgs of Compound D and 6x50kgs of top dressing fertiliser, which accumulates to $68. Chimukoko alone, which has three wards, paid $6000 which was deposited into a CBZ Bank account.
There are over twenty wards in Mudzi district which culculates to about $40,000 that was swindled from ordinary people in Mudzi. “The rains have fallen in most parts of the country, and yet we are still hoping for the inputs to come. Right now I don’t have any grain to plant, and I wish I would have kept my money and buy the little inputs with that money. Rains have come, and I need to plant but the government is cross legged.” said an irate Chimukoko villager.
In Harare, Central Committee member Absolom Sikhosana was on Thursday detained overnight by angry farmers, while national director for youth affairs Tapiwa Zengeya was force-marched from the Willowvale industrial area to the party’s headquarters as farmers demonstrated against a company jointly-owned by Zanu-PF youth wing and Lasch Investment for failing to deliver inputs.
Over 15 000 farmers might have been duped of varying amounts of money they contributed to the company with the promise that they would get farming inputs this season. Sikhosana confirmed spending the whole night on Thursday detained by farmers at Cold Storage Company, before Zengeya was detained after coming to rescue his colleague.
Said Sikhosana: “I was detained by farmers on Thursday night after I had gone to explain the situation. Farmers said I was supposed to spend the night under harsh conditions so that I could understand their plight. When I tried to drive away, the farmers mobbed my car and blocked me until 4am,” he said.
“We cannot pay back farmers their money. The project relies on membership subscriptions and have since been exhausted. All along the management was trying to get support but it has not materialised. The scheme is unable to provide inputs because it has run out of money,” he said.
Police Spokesperson Charity Charamba yesterday confirmed that the farmers reported a fraud case, while Sikhosana reported a kidnapping case.

Another Kombi Driver Flees Cops Crashes, One Killed

A BULAWAYO WOMAN DIED on the spot while 13 other people including two juveniles were injured when a Toyota Granvia driven by an unlicensed driver burst a tyre and rolled several times.
Survivors said the driver, Reason Moyo, was speeding while fleeing police and Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) roadblocks.
A police source confirmed the incident which occurred near Marula Business Centre along the Bulawayo-Plumtree Highway around 6PM on Thursday. Ellen Ndlovu, 41, of Cowdray Park suburb, sustained severe head and body injuries which resulted in her death.

Moyo was among the injured.
His passengers said Moyo first fled from VID officers and later from a police roadblock and from then on maintained a high speed which they tried in vain to warn him about.
They said Moyo kept saying the police and VID officials were pursuing him.
“The vehicle had 14 people in it including the driver. One of the injured persons was referred to UBH (United Bulawayo Hospitals) while three others were treated at Plumtree District Hospital and discharged on the same night,” said a survivor who declined to be named.
One of the survivors who is admitted to Plumtree District Hospital, 38-year-old Peter Mwanetse, said the vehicle rolled several times.
“The left rear tyre burst and the vehicle swerved to the left and then to the right side of the road. It started rolling. I recall trying to grab onto something for balance but I couldn’t find anything.
“When at last the vehicle came to a halt we all scrambled out and the only thing that was on my mind was to get to safety,” said Mwanetse. He said he sustained deep cuts on the nose and mouth.
Another passenger who was also admitted to the same hospital, Shelton Moyo, said the driver was stopped by VID officers in Plumtree but refused to comply. He said they proceeded to a road block where traffic officers tried to stop the driver but he sped past.
Moyo said the driver would have been able to control the vehicle if he had been driving at a safe speed.
He said he escaped with slight burns and injuries. Nomathemba Nyathi, another survivor, said: “Soon after the accident, passersby started looting valuables from bags which were scattered all over while survivors were wailing in agony.”
A number of the passengers said they lost their cellphones, money and other valuables at the scene of the accident. chronicle

Zimbabwe Does Not Beg At All, Minister Says

...Chris Mushowe
…Chris Mushowe

Newly appointed indigenisation minister Christopher Mushohwe on Friday said Zimbabwe is not begging for investment and investors willing to venture into the country must respect its laws.
Zimbabwe’s indigenisation and empowerment laws demand that locals be majority owners, with a minimum 51 percent shareholding in major companies operating in the economy.
The law, enacted nearly five years ago, has among other factors been blamed for the dearth of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the economy, fuelling a prolonged liquidity crunch.
Speaking after being sworn in by President Robert Mugabe, Mushohwe, a former provincial minister, said the country’s resources were worth more than any money that investors would bring in.
“The investors should not look at us as beggars, they should not expect us to give in to their demands,” Mushohwe told reporters.
“Those who want to come and invest in Zimbabwe must come and invest in Zimbabwe under the laws of Zimbabwe and surely they will get more than the value of their investment.”
Mushohwe, who replaced Francis Nhema who was fired for alleged involvement in an attempt to oust President Mugabe, backed earlier plans by government to use the country’s mineral resources as its contribution to any joint venture partnership, especially in the mining sector.
His comments fly in the face of a declaration by finance minister Patrick Chinamasa in his 2015 budget presentation that compliance to the policy will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis through line ministries and that the 51/49 mix was an aspiration and not cast in stone.
“We need to make sure that we know the value of what we have underground which we can put on the table and say this is our resource, bring in your investment,” said Mushohwe.
“Take the diamond miners for example, how much do you think they have already taken out of Chiadzwa, can you compare that with the value of the equipment that they have brought, can they complain that the little equipment they brought is more valuable than the resources they have extracted?”
Mushohwe said during his tenure, he would “protect the interests of Zimbabweans” and strive to ensure the generality of the people benefitted from the empowerment drive.
“We cannot satisfy everybody because it not possible, but we must make sure that we make a mark,” he said.
“People must see the empowered ones, which companies have been indigenised; we cannot continue to empower the elite when the generality of our people are not being empowered.”
Mushowe said government would strive to educate and train youths on how to run successful projects before providing them with financial resources.
Banks in the country have availed over $10 million under the Youth Development Fund (YDF) as part of the indigenisation initiative but most youths who have benefitted have failed to repay loans.
This led to some of the institutions suspending funding.

Gruesome Murder: Man Kills Girfriend Over HIV

A married man from Mangwe District is on the run after allegedly forcing two children aged seven and 10 to watch as he beat his girlfriend to death. Farai Maphosa, 35, accused Singatsho Ndebele, 41, of being a prostitute and infecting him with HIV.
A helpless Ndebele reportedly tried to fight back but an enraged Maphosa overpowered her and pounded her with a log and hoe handle until she died. The children were screaming in terror throughout the brutal assault.
Matabeleland South acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nkosilathi Sibanda confirmed the incident which occurred on Thursday around 2AM at Khalanyoni area.
He said Ndebele was killed at a homestead where she was employed as a domestic worker.
He said Maphosa is alleged to have gone to Ndebele’s workplace and ordered her to open the door.
Ass Insp Sibanda said Ndebele who was in the company of the two juveniles, refused but Maphosa forced the door open.
“The accused person forced the door open and gained entry into the house and Ndebele tried to escape but Maphosa caught up with her while she was on the veranda and struck her on the head with a wooden hoe handle which he was holding,” said Ass Insp Sibanda.
The woman sustained a deep cut on the head and started bleeding but that did not stop her lover from harming her further.
Ass Insp Sibanda said Maphosa then dragged the woman into the house and ordered the two children who were asleep at the time to wake up and witness how a prostitute is treated.
He said Maphosa told the two children that he was punishing Ndebele for infecting him with HIV.
He said the accused person then struck Ndebele several times with the log all over the body until she collapsed while the two juveniles watched and screamed for help. He then dragged her outside for about 50 metres, dumped her body and fled.
Ass Insp Sibanda said neighbours arrived at the scene after hearing screams from the two children but Maphosa had already disappeared. He said Ndebele who was unconscious at the time was taken to Mayobodo Clinic but died upon arrival.
The acting police spokesperson said Maphosa was still at large and police had launched a manhunt to arrest him. Ass Insp Sibanda appealed to community members to use peaceful methods to solve disputes.
He appealed to people with information on Maphosa’s whereabouts to call Mayobodo Hotline on 0775 870 464 or send messages on WhatsApp to 0771 443 373.
Maphosa’s relative who identified herself only as MaMguni said her brother-in-law was having an affair with Ndebele while on the other hand he had a family of his own.
She said the two were always fighting.
“We were notified by the police that my brother-in-law had murdered his girlfriend. They started having an affair a long time ago and they have a child together.
“As of now no one knows where Farai could be as the police have looked for him in several places within the village where we thought he could be hiding,” said MaMguni.

Mujuru Stick to Farming!, Chinoz Tells SpillBlood

Sacked Joice Mujuru should now concentrate on farming rather than joining other political forces, the Buhera South MP and war veteran Joseph Chinotimba has said.
“We know that Cde Mujuru is a serious farmer and she should concentrate on farming. She should not make the mistake of joining forces with oppositional forces as this will be her political downfall,” he said.
“But if she decides to be big-headed, she will fall in the same pit with some leaders we know who are wallowing in the political wilderness Allegations being levelled against Mujuru and her colleagues are very embarrassing and they should not waste their time trying to lie to the world that they are being set-up by their political enemies. If they are innocent they should prove themselves,” said Chinotimba.
Mujuru has said she is staying within the ruling party. The Zimbabwean

Jah Prayzah Admits ‘Stealing Song’

Musician Jah Prayzah has admitted to the State Media that he copied the beat of his song “Mwanasikana” on the album “Tsviriyo” from Ghanaian musician Emmanuel Samini’s 2007 hit track titled “Samini”.Jah Prayzah this week came under fire from critics on social media networks after an online publication accused him of ‘stealing’ the song.
The publication revealed the striking similarity between “Mwanasikana” and “Samini” and uploaded the two songs on their website, triggering a barrage of criticism and queries about Jah Prayzah’s creativity.
The “Tsviriyo” hit-maker said the song is a soundtrack for an African movie that he watched when he was making his album in 2013 and fell in love with the beat.
“I was watching an African movie and I enjoyed the soundtrack. I did not know it was a released song (on the market). I just thought it was a track made for the movie. The beat was good and I was tempted to use it on one of my songs,” he said.
He claims he did not know the composer of the song until he was alerted of the matter recently.
“I did not know about Samini and I did not know it was his song until a friend sent me a link of the track recently. He just told me to check the similarities between the songs and I realised it was the same track used it the African movie.”
The lyrics of the songs are different but the similarity of the beats has exposed Jah Prayzah who won the Outstanding Video award for a video of the same song at National Art Merit Awards this year.
“Samini” was a hit in Ghana after its release in 2007 and the artist has toured various parts of the world.
He has performed alongside Sean Paul, Akon, Kevin Little, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder, Damien Marley , Bennie Man, Jay-Z, Chaka Demus and Steel Pulse. He collaborated with Steel Pulse and Etana from Jamaica. He has received international recognition and toured the UK, Germany, Italy, Canada, and the Netherlands.
On the other hand, Jah Prayzah has been outstanding on the local music scene and has received many awards for his blossoming career.
He had done numerous local collaborations and went on a number of international tours. The issue of borrowing beats and lyrics from foreign artists is highly prevalent among local artists of various genres.
Samini reportedly said he would attend to the Jah Prayzah issue after relief from his current tight schedule.
Jah Prayzah said he would wait for Samini’s action to map the way forward, adding he was not aware of the legal implications of copying a beat, and not the lyrics.
“I know that compositions, especially lyrics fall within copyright issues. I am not sure about matters involving beats. I will only comment on the legal issue if Samini approaches me,” he said.
An official from Zimbabwe Music Rights Association said it is illegal to reproduce another artist’s beat without permission. Artists who share beats are also expected to share royalties.

Tsvangirai Plans to Impeach Mugabe Over Mnangagwa Are Utter Nonsense – Madhuku

Plans by Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC party to impeach Robert Mugabe for his firing of Joice Mujuru and replacing with Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko are utter nonsense, Constitutional Law expert Lovemore Madhuku has said.
“There is no chance for impeachment. The impeachment thing is nonsense… it doesen’t make sense,” said Madhuku.
He continued, “an impeachment is just a question of numbers in parliament. The MDC-T party don’t even have the minimum number required to have the matter discussed,” he added.

The MDC-T party’s spokesman, Obert Gutu, told a local daily that Mugabe has through the Mujuru expulsion violated the Constitution and because of that he can and should be impeached. He cannot violate the supreme law of the land.
“By firing Mujuru the way he did, Mugabe has violated the Constitution, as a president and his deputy can only be fired in accordance with the Constitution.
“Those are good grounds for impeaching the president. So we dismiss the purported dismissal of Mujuru as a non-event,” Gutu said.
Although analysts said yesterday that the prospects were slim for the MDC to successfully impeach Mugabe, as the party had minority seats in Parliament, the main opposition still believes that it could succeed in its mission, particularly taking into account the current disquiet in the ruling party — caused by the ongoing brutal purges of members perceived to be loyal to Mujuru.
Legal experts also say Mugabe can be impeached if the MDC can prove that he has wilfully violated the Constitution or is incapable of holding office due to physical or other incapacity.
But in order to have the necessary two-thirds vote needed to achieve such a move, the MDC would need the support of disaffected Zanu PF MPs.

Eubert Angel Swindled Me $300,000: Court Papers

Eubert Angel with ZANU PF's Psychology Maziwisa
Eubert Angel with ZANU PF’s Psychology Maziwisa

Spirit Embassy church founder Eubert Madzanire(aka Angel) has been taken to court over allegedly swindling a Harare man his $300,000 expensive bentley car.
The man, Mr Mr Ndabazinengi Shava, a businessman, is demanding his bentley donated to the prophet on the promise that he would reap threefold and yet a year later, he is “still the same and nothing has happened.”
Shava through his lawyers Chinyama and Partners, filed summons at the High Court seeking the immediate release of the black Bentley registration number ACO1759.
He also seeks an order declaring him the legitimate owner of the vehicle.
According to the plaintiff’s declaration, Angel last year convinced Mr Shava to surrender the vehicle as a way of sowing a seed into his life.
He was assured of reaping three times the value of the Bentley, which was worth $300 000.
It was also a condition of the promise that Mr Shava would realise the harvest eight months after delivering the vehicle to the prophet.
Mr Shava, according to the promise, was entitled to taking the vehicle back if he failed to reap the promised harvest within the stipulated period.
“It was a further term of the arrangement between the parties that should the seed fail to germinate, the plaintiff was free to pick up his vehicle and at all material times the vehicle remained the property of the plaintiff,” reads the declaration.
Mr Shava now feels Prophet Angel defrauded him.
“Contrary to the defendant’s promise, a period in excess of one year has since lapsed with the seed not having germinated and the plaintiff has realised that the representations made to him by the defendant were fraudulent misrepresentations aimed at defrauding the plaintiff of his motor vehicle . . .
“At the time of making these misrepresentations to the plaintiff, the defendant was in his sober senses and not under any spirit at all and he knew that what he was promising to the plaintiff was not the truth and will never come to pass,” reads the declaration.
It is Mr Shava’s argument that despite surrendering the vehicle to Prophet Angel, ownership was never changed and claims to be the legitimate owner of the property.
Prophet Angel was still to respond to the summons that were filed at the High Court on Thursday.

Joice Mujuru To Enjoy Full 100% Govt Salary Forever

FORMER Vice-President Joice Mujuru, despite being sacked from government on Monday evening, will continue living off taxpayers as the Constitution says she will draw a pension equivalent to her monthly salary as long as she lives.
This is the first time Zimbabwe has had a living former vice-president as the others — Joshua and John Nkomo, Simon Muzenda and Joseph Msika — all died in office.
Section 102 of the Constitution on remuneration of president and vice-presidents states: “A person who has ceased to be president or vice-president is entitled to receive — (a) a pension equivalent to the salary of a sitting president or vice-president, as the case may be; and (b) such allowances and other benefits as may be prescribed under an Act of Parliament”.
However, according to Section 103, a former president or vice-president cannot “directly or indirectly hold any other public office or be employed by anyone else while he or she is in office or is receiving a pension from the State as former president or vice-president, as the case may be”.
Analysts yesterday said although Mujuru may remain with some of her trimmings, her sacking meant the taxpayer would have to fork more for public officials, as President Robert Mugabe is now expected to appoint his deputies.
United Kingdom-based social scientist Admore Tshuma said Mujuru’s dismissal meant more misery for taxpayers.
“This is because taxpayers will unknowingly foot the bill of maintaining Mujuru’s private and civilian life, according to the Constitution,” he said.
Tshuma said the country was finding it increasingly difficult to foot the bill of public officials, considering that 80% of the budget was for consumption not productive purposes.
Political analyst Godwin Phiri said the money she would get could not compensate for the loss of power and influence.
“She really doesn’t need the money, she has plenty of it. It is the vice-presidency and a chance to become president that she needs the most.” – SouthernEye

Gokwe Man Beats ZRP Cops, Smuggles Mbanje Using Goats

goats750A Gokwe man in his 60s, and from Mbumbusi area, boasts of transporting mbanje to several towns for sell using a sophisticated method of stuffing it in goats’ intestines.
The old man who identified himself to ZimEye.com as Fanasi Ncube, boasted of having educated his children from trading in the illegal weed, and that he has been forced to improvise his own way of evading police by poverty.
Asked how he managed to avoid police road blocks, the old man said, “I did not really avoid road blocks. I would pass through the police officers, with my weeds inside goat’s intestines and then pack them on arrival to town,” said Ncube.
This reporter asked Ncube to enlighten them on how he evaded arrest, and he said, “I would lock about 10 goats in the small house and starve them for a few days, giving them only water. The idea was to clear their intestines before I start feeding them with my special weed young man. Do you know the special weed I am talking about here? It’s mbanje. I would then see to it that the goats’ stomachs are now empty. I then start feeding them with the weed and in a few minutes load the goats into the car which I will be ferrying the small beasts to town for my serious business.
On arrival to town, I usually favoured Bulawayo since the place is close to Botswana, where mbanje is on demand. I would then gather all the waste produced by goats while travelling. This waste is the best grade of the weed and we would then pack them in small 2 kg papers before transporting them to neighbouring countries for business.
For the goats, we would sell them after 10 days and after making sure that all our mbanje is out of their intestines. We would also slaughter them for celebrating our police breakthrough young man, ” narrated Ncube.
The old man further mocked this journalist for “too much of following the law”, which he said will lead many to die in poverty.
Asked to comment on the old man’s bragging, Gokwe Police told ZimEye.com that they do not comment on hearsay. “We don’t comment on speculative issues, we are a professional organisation.”
However, sources close to the police who cannot be named for reprisals, confirmed that they have at one time intercepted near-similar mbanje trade activities after a tipoff, but cases of Ncube’s trickery appear too high for cops at present.

Mugabe Appoints ‘Grade7 DropOut’ Muchinguri to Head Ministry of Tertiary Education

muchinguri750PRESIDENT ROBERT MUGABE yesterday added scorn to his name by appointing uneducated former ZANU PF Women’s League leader Oppah Muchinguri to head the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development.
Oppah Muchinguri last month caused embarrassment for the First Family when she confidently and elaborately vocalised that Robert Mugabe marked his wife’s PhD thesis in what academics charge is further reflective of her limited intellect and shocking ignorance of academic procedures. Sources say her shocking intellectual poverty shows she is “a Grade7 Drop-Out” who has only built a reputation using ‘cheap’ political muscle. A sitting University of Zimbabwe lecturer has revealed that the institution regularly artificially graduates “important people” like Muchinguri and Grace Mugabe.
Besides releasing a long list of new ministers(listed below) , Mugabe has revealed his appointment of Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko as Vice Presidents of the Republic of Zimbabwe
This portfolio was held by the late Vice President and national hero John Landa Nkomo.
In terms of Section 104 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, Amendment Number 20 of 2013, that deals with the appointment of ministers and deputy ministers, Dr Sibanda said President Mugabe also appointed the following eight Ministers and two Deputies.
The newly-appointed Zanu-PF national spokesperson and former Senior Minister of State in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo, was appointed to the new portfolio of Minister of Economic Planning.
The Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Services is now under Prisca Mupfumira, who replaced Nicholas Goche who was sacked for his involvement in the plot to assassinate the President and replace him with ousted VP Mujuru.
Oppah Muchinguri; who was Minister of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development; has been assigned to the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, taking over from Dr Olivia Muchena who was fired for performance below the expected standard.
She was also part of the Mujuru cabal.
An appointment for the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development will be made later.
Former Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Samuel Udenge was appointed Minister of Energy and Power Development, replacing Dzikamai Mavhaire, who is also linked to the sacked VP Mujuru’s cabal.
Udenge will be deputised by Tsitsi Muzenda.
Manicaland Minister of State Christopher Mushohwe was moved to the Ministry of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment, replacing Francis Nhema, who is also linked to the former VP Mujuru’s faction.
Mandi Chimene — Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association spokesperson — takes over from Mushohwe as the Minister of State for Manicaland Province, while former Deputy Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Joel Biggie Matiza is now the new Minister of State for Mashonaland East Province, replacing the ousted Simbaneuta Mudarikwa.
Former Deputy Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Supa Mandiwanzira was promoted to head the Ministry of Information Communication Technology and Courier Services that was under the fired Webster Shamu.
Monica Mutsvangwa, replaces Mandiwanzira as Deputy Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa was promoted to lead the newly-created Ministry of Welfare Services for the War Veterans, War Collaborators, Former Political Detainees and Restrictees.
Said Dr Sibanda: “Please note that the newly appointed Vice Presidents, together with the following Ministers and Deputy Ministers are invited to the State House for the swearing in ceremony on Friday (today), 12th December 2014 at 1000 hours.”

Mugabe In Trouble for Picking Mnangagwa, Sued in Court

President Robert Mugabe is trouble for breaching the constitution by his firing Joice Mujuru and appointing two Vice presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko.
Mugabe has been slapped with a lawsuit filed by Constitutional Law expert Lovemore Madhuku who is challenging the appointments of the installing of Mnangagwa and Mphoko. According to the law there should only be one Vice President under the current circumstances.
Madhuku told ZimEye.com Thursday evening, he is confident despite the late hour. “Its not late because he only announced them yesterday, we only knew that there are two Vice Presidents yesterday and there is no way you can have a hearing between now and tomorrow,” he said,
He continued, “the importance of the lawsuit is that even if he goes ahead with the installation of the Vice Presidents,…if the court rules that it was unlawful to make the appointments of two people instead of one, then they will nullify them. He will have to make a choice of which one he picks for the Vice Presidency,” he said.
“We will file tomorrow morning,” he added.
In the application Madhuku is suing Robert Mugabe as the first respondent, former justice minister Mnangagwa (second respondent), Mphoko (third respondent).
Madhuku argues that “The basis of the application is that the 1st Respondent is likely to infringe two fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of Zimbabwe, 2013 namely (a) the right to equality before the law and equal protection and benefit of the law protected by section 56(1) and (b) the right to administrative justice protected by section 68.”
“Yesterday, the nation had three major political developments. The first was the dismissal of the former Vice-President, Honourable Joice Teurai Ropa Mujuru. She was dismissed by the 1st Respondent. The second was the appointment of the 2nd and 3rd Respondents as Vice-Presidents of Zanu(PF). The third was an announcement that the 1st Respondent intends to swear the 2nd and 3rd Respondents into office as Vice-Presidents of the country. The latter ceremony appears scheduled for tomorrow (12 December 2014),” reads his opposing affidavit.
He clarified, “the option of the President to appoint one or two Vice Presidents is only exercised soon after the President is sworn into office. Once the President has decided to appoint one vice President, he cannot change his mind and have two Vice Presidents during the same term of office. The President cannot replace Vice President Mujuru by two Vice Presidents. This is what paragraph 14, sub-paragraph 2 of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution says. In specific terms, it says:
“Without delay the person elected as President in any election referred to in subparagraph(1) must appoint not more than two Vice-Presidents, who hold office at his or her pleasure”.

I’m Ruling Under Duress Mugabe tells Kaunda

President Robert Mugabe told former Zambian leader Kenneth Kaunda that he was ruling Zimbabwe unwillingly.
This revelation comes amid mounting gaffes that the president, soon to turn 91, has been making.
A contact in Mugabe’s entourage told The Zimbabwean that he made the remark a month ago at the burial of former president Michael Sata in Zambia.
“KK (Kenneth Kaunda) approached him (Mugabe) and jokingly asked if he was still ruling in Zimbabwe. HE (his Excellency) joked back and said he was ruling under duress. Not many seemed to have noticed the joke but one or two heads of state whispered to each other immediately after the president said this,” said the highly-placed source.
“We have also been discussing his statement he made at Sata’s burial. It seems strange that, from nowhere, HE started talking of being forced to rule.
The questions is, by who? Maybe that is how he feels but is not telling anyone. Because of old age, some of these things sometimes get out without him knowing that is what he is saying,” he added.
Zambia has had four presidents since Kaunda was beaten in multiparty polls in 1991, while Mugabe, his contemporary still reigns in Zimbabwe.
Recent reports indicate that Mugabe is now living under the command of his wife, Grace, who reportedly forces him to make certain decisions on government and party business. Party insiders have also revealed that Grace is the one who has been ordering him to fire her political foes.
Over the years, Mugabe is said to have been held hostage by army generals and a powerful clique in his party who do not want him to retire as a way of safeguarding their ill-gotten gains.
Mugabe made another embarrassing gaffe at the recent congress when, addressing delegates towards the end, he denounced his own party inadvertently. He chanted, “Pasi neZanu (PF)—Down with Zanu (PF)!” which is a slogan normally used by political opponents.
The slip happened when Mugabe’s attention was disturbed by the intrusive Grace who had passed him a note urging him to wind up his rambling speech.
He made another embarrassing slip recently when he remarked that Morgan Tsvangirai had won the 2008 election against him by 73 percent. The army generals and war veterans he was addressing quickly corrected him.
In July, Mugabe claimed that results of last year’s general elections were announced on July 31 2013, which in fact was the date the polls were held. He was addressing party supporters at State House where Zanu (PF) was celebrating its controversial landslide victory.
The president also courted controversy during the congress when he accused Joice Mujuru, his former deputy, of trying to assassinate him using black magic, in a development many said showed his growing paranoia.
His personal spokesperson, George Charamba, could not be reached to comment on the gaffes. – The Zimbabwean

Horror as Mystery Crocodile Kills Mavambo Leader During Whatsapp Chat

There was horror in Chinhoyi at the weekend when a top Mavambo Kusile Dawn (MKD) party official who is its respected National Secretary for Mobilisation, Liberty Mukwakwami, was attacked by a said ‘huge’ mystery crocodile at the Hunyani river while engaged in a Whatsapp chat on his way for early morning prayers.
Mukwakwami, who is a former Public Services Medical Aid Society worker and had started his own business, was with three other friends at the time of the accident, all heading for early morning prayers just before 7am.
The huge croc which is still at large and is known for notoriety, attacked the father of one while he was reading a Whatsapp message on his cellphone and while standing with his back against the river on Saturday morning, ZimEye.com has been told by eye witnesses.
“His Whatsapp shows that he was last logged in at 6:58am, MKD spokesman Evans Sagonda told ZimEye.com.

LIBERTY-MUKWAKWAMI
tragic death…Liberty Mukwakwami

Mukwakwami died instantly as he was dragged under water and his body was submerged in between the beast’s lethal jaws for close to three days. The friends tried to throw stones into the river to no avail later watching helplessly for a whole day and Police Sub Aqua officers who arrived at the scene only a day later, Sunday, complained saying they could not continue the search after reportedly running out of oxygen.
Mukwakwami’s body only surfaced floating on Monday morning and was in a decomposed state. Sagomba however said the body when it surfaced  was very much intact with no limbs or legs broken off adding to the mystery attack since crocs instinctly bite off body parts of their prey after a kill.
The Mavambo Kusile Dawn (MKD) leader Dr Simba Makoni who visited the scene, has sent condolences to the Mukwakwami family on the tragic loss.
“MKD has lost not only a Son but a dedicated leader who prioritized the party working to reclaim Zimbabwe’s place in the global governance and economy,” Makoni said in a statement.
He continued, “his record in the party speaks for itself having saved as the Provincial Chairperson for Mashonaland West, Secretary For Communications and as Secretary For mobilisation until the time of his death, this speaks of an individual who served his people and party with distinction. We believe that the many initiative he had undertaken to revitalise the party will be pursued for the benefit of the people of Zimbabwe.
“His legacy will continue to inspire us as we fight to get Zimbabwe working again.”
Mukwakwami, who was in his 30s, is a former Public Services Medical Aid worker who was part of a team that computerised the society during its crisis moments between 1999 and 2001. Staff members remember him for being always in a happy jovial mood as he cheered everyone during work hours.

Mugabe Caught In Sex V’ Storm

President Robert Mugabe has been caught in a storm over sex and gender bias constitutional violations, an abuse following his unilateral appointment of a male dominated presidium.

Yesterday Wednesday, Mugabe announced a “Crocodile dominated,” (as it has since been termed), all male presidium, which action violates strict stipulations of the New Constitution, rights’ experts have warned.

A day earlier President Mugabe had unprocedurally fired former Vice President Joice Mujuru replacing her with long time loyale Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa and another man Phelekezela Mphoko. Besides the New Constitution, it has long been Mugabe’s moral stance that at least one person in the Presidium has to be female being also the reason why he in 2004 blocked Mnangagwa saying a woman, Mujuru should be given passage. Until yesterday it was speculated that Senate supremo Ednar Madzongwe would be one of the Vice Presidents which however never occurred.
Top lawyer and legislator for Harare West, Jessie Majome said due to Mugabe’s actions, section 17 of the Constitution has been jeopardised.
“Once a woman is removed it becomes unlikely that she’ll be replaced by another. The gender balance required by section 17 of the Constitution is in jeopardy from lack of political will,” she said.
Girl Child Network founder Betty Makoni weighed in saying the commotion of purgings seen in recent weeks was just an attempt to push out a woman.
“All that drama was trying to push out a powerful woman and put these plus 70 age groups of men. Their generation is not ashamed,” she said.
Meanwhile constitutional experts have voiced that Robert Mugabe violated the constitution by just writing a dismissal letter with uncorroborated allegations.

Robert Mugabe Assisted George Bush ‘Torture’ Terrorism Suspects – REPORT

Former US President George Bush
Former US President George Bush

DESPITE loaded anti-American rhetoric, it has emerged that Zimbabwe may have been used as a transit base for several United States intelligence agency, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), terror suspects in secret and illegal renditions.
In a report, some of it made public on Tuesday, Zimbabwe, Malawi and South Africa were some of the Southern African countries involved in the CIA’s rendition.
Other African countries are Libya, Mauritania and Somalia, while Morocco hosted a CIA prison.
The report says Zimbabwe under President Robert Mugabe is one of 54 countries exposed in a US Senate Intelligence Committee report as having assisted the former President George W Bush’s administration in a programme that included torture of terrorism suspects.
According to the report, terror suspects, Fahad al-Bahli, a Saudi national, Ibrahim Habaci and Arif Ulusam both from Turkey, Khalifa Abdi Hassan, a Kenyan national and Mahmud Sardar Issa, from Sudan were arrested in Malawi on different occasions in 2003 in a joint operation involving the CIA and Malawi’s National Intelligence Bureau.
They were all suspected of having al-Qaeda links and were initially held in Malawi. They were secretly flown to Harare where they were held for almost a month.
“There have been no known judicial cases or investigations in Zimbabwe relating to its participation in CIA secret detention and extraordinary rendition operations,” a report released by the Open Society Foundation says.
The report says Zimbabwe had detained extraordinarily rendered suspects.
The terror suspects were then transferred to Sudan, but released after it was established that there was no evidence linking them to al-Qaeda.
Efforts to get a comment from Foreign Affairs ministry were fruitless for the whole of yesterday.
Zimbabwe has often portrayed itself as an anti-Western country and its involvement in the US extraordinary rendition raises questions whether the country’s attitude to the West is genuine.
The report said the then outgoing US ambassador to Malawi denied the involvement of US agents.
The US committee’s chairperson, Senator Dianne Feinstein, tabled the explosive report on Tuesday.
“This document examines the CIA’s secret detention of at least 119 individuals and the use of coercive interrogation techniques — in some cases amounting to torture,” Feinstein said.
“Under any common meaning of the term, CIA detainees were tortured.”
The 480-page summary of a 6 000-page investigation from the committee includes graphic details about sexual threats, waterboarding and other harsh interrogation techniques meted out to captured militants since the September 11 2001 terror attacks.
The report compiled over several years is the first independent assessment of the CIA’s “Rendition, Detention and Interrogation” programme.
Bush ended many aspects of the programme before leaving office and President Barack Obama swiftly banned so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques”, which critics say are torture, after his 2009 inauguration. – SouthernEye

Baba Jukwa: Trial to Last 12 Years as Judge Throws Out Application for Freedom

The trial against the Sunday Mail Editor Edmund Kudzayi and his brother Phillip being charged for being the faceless Baba Jukwa character, is set to last beyond a decade after a Harare magistrate refused to release the pair ruling that they have a potential case for prosecution.
The two appeared in court arguing that the investigating officer Crispen Makedenge could not have traveled to the United States as claimed by the prosecution as being the cause for the current delay to proceed to trial and to keep the two on remand. Investigations by ZimEye have revealed Makedenge did not at all travel to the United States (READ MORE-Baba Jukwa Case: Makedenge Denied US Visa).
Furthermore Magistrate Mr Milton Serima while dismissing the pair’s application for refusal of further remand, failed to prove that Makendege did travel to the US only stating that he believed he was part of a diplomatic delegation assigned to speak with US authorities. Mr Serima said he was convinced that a diplomatic delegation led by chief law officer Mr Tawanda Zvekare from the Prosecutor General’s office met with representatives from the department of justice in the United States of America. “I am convinced that the State is not just sitting on its laurels for it is clear that communication has taken place between the State and the justice department in the USA,” he said.
He continued saying, “while the defence had earlier argued that there was no proof that anyone went to the USA, a letter from the USA department of justice confirmed that State representatives were in that country.
“In the letter, a representative from the USA confirmed that they met with Mr Zvekare and several others and I believe Mr Makedenge was part of the delegation. This allays the applicants’ fears that the State had not been telling the truth,” he said.
Mr Serima also said that the pair’s rights were not being interfered with.
He added, “Also in that letter from USA, Mr Zvekare is indicated to have asked that the matter be dealt with urgently but the department of justice said the request required time and careful analysis.
“These developments buttress the State’s contention that this is a complex matter.
“In the circumstances, I don’t envisage a situation where it can be said that their rights are being interfered with.”
Therefore, the application was dismissed. On Monday this week, the pair, through its lawyer Mr Admire Rubaya made the application arguing that their right to trial within a reasonable time should not be trampled upon.
However, prosecutor Miss Sharon Mashavira opposed the application and urged the court to postpone the matter pending finalisation of extra-territorial investigations, saying the US department of justice and criminal division was yet to assist in the case.
It is the State’s case that sometime in April 2013, Edmund hatched a plan with Philip to overthrow the Government through unconstitutional means.
It is alleged he created a Gmail account, [email protected], using a mobile phone line registered in Philip’s name, but used by Edmund.
The two allegedly formed two separate groups called the Gunda Nleya Brigade and the Zimbabwe Revolutionary Army with the purposes of overthrowing the Government.
Edmund allegedly posted articles on the Baba Jukwa Facebook page, which encouraged rebellion against Government if the July 31 general election “were stolen”.
They are facing charges involving banditry, insurgency and demeaning the office of the President, allegations which they deny.
It is widely believed that the United States government will never collaborate with Zimbabwean law enforcement agencies as this inconsistent with that country’s foreign policy towards Zimbabwe which country remains declared a pariah state. “The only time when the US can collaborate with the Zim government is when there has been a change of regime or at the least the US alters its foreign policy stance against the ZANU PF controlled government and judging by the flow of events that can only be after a decade or even 12 years from now”, said law expert Jameson Nkala.

VIDEO: Mnangagwa Celebrates: I Will Be Loyal to Mugabe

NGWENAState Media|Newly-appointed Zanu-PF and the country’s Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa says he will further the ideals of the revolution while remaining loyal to the party and country.

Speaking in an interview after his appointment by President Mugabe at a Zanu-PF Central Committee meeting at Zanu-PF Headquarters yesterday, Mnangagwa said Zanu-PF had rid itself of elements who had become inconsistent.
“I feel humbled that I have been accorded this honour to serve our beloved country Zimbabwe in the capacity of Vice President,” said Mnangagwa. “I have assured the President and I would want to assure the party and its leadership that I will remain loyal and committed to uphold the correct line of the revolution which we have been in for the past 52 years.”
Asked if Zanu-PF had been weakened by the removal of former party second secretary, Joice Mujuru and her cabal who had plotted to remove President Mugabe through unprecedented means including assassination, Mnangagwa said the revolution goes through cycles.
“No the revolution has a way of strengthening itself. It goes into cycles. This is another cycle where it rids itself of elements that have now become inconsistent with the correct line.”

TB Joshua: Coroner Dismisses Prophet’s Application to Stop Building Collapse Hearing

Nigerian preacher TB Joshua was on Wednesday slapped in the face by a judicial order as Nigeria’s Chief Magistrate ruled that he is attempting to abuse court processes for personal gain.
Joshua made an application to the High Court seeking to avoid being called for questioning, and also forcing the courts to avoid investigations into the building materials and procedures for the collapsed building which killed 116 church members. But delivering Chief Magistrate Komolafe delivering his judgement Wednesday described the application as an abuse of court process, stating that there was no automatic appeal against the findings and conclusions of a Coroner Court. Komolafe held that the proceeding before the coroner court ‘is a judicial inquiry into the cause of the collapsed guest house belonging to SCOAN which claimed the lives of 116 victims.
While stating that there was no party before the court, the Coroner declared that all the authorities cited by the counsel while adopting their written addresses had nothing to do with the proceedings.
“This court cannot adjudicate on this motion on notice as doing so would amount to operating outside the scope of a Coroner Court,” he ruled.
TB Joshua was seeking the Lagos Coroner to issue a restraining order on issues relating to calling of witnesses in respect of the building approval or material tests of the collapsed building and also to avoid the requirement for Joshua to appear before the inquest to give vital evidence required by the Magistrate.
Of the 116 people who died in the building were three Zimbabweans who include top MDC-T politician Greenwich Ndanga.

Heavy Gunshots Fired Inside Mnangagwa’s House

Dear Editor,LETTERS-strip-forum-red-strip-text-formatted3
We heard continuous loud gunshots inside Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa’s house.

From 1982 to 1986 Emmerson Mnangagwa was our next door, but one, neighbour in Greystone Park with all of the shi* that came with living in the same road as a gook minister, dozens of cars at all hours, always police and security guards were always around and at the gate.  There were always parties and the noise of drunkards and occasional gun shots. By 1986 we just had enough, and so we put our house up for sale and then shortly after that Emmerson arrived with three black government cars and scared the shi* out of our maid who was just trying to protect our home. Nevertheless they still came in completely uninvited and it was a very frightening moment.

This happened on Saturday when my wife and I were  shopping and the gooks left before we got home. They left a contact number for me to phone on Monday. It transpired that he (Mnangagwa) wanted the property but for other family members. He was a real smoothie on the phone cracking meaningless jokes together with fake laughter but I just told him that no firm decisions were made and we were just testing the market (lied). Mnangagwa told me over the phone that he would buy the house with cash so when we were ready we must contact him and I must not sell it to anyone else but him and “that I must not disappoint him”.

Needless to say I did disappoint him and got most of the price paid out into a South African bank. Life living in the same road with a gook minister is not too easy but then again it will be even worse now.

Jesus Christ Was Black as most Africans in Zimbabwe are

Dear Editor,
US Movie Director Ridley Scott has made a movie ‘Exodus’ in which the heroes are white, the criminals black and the servants black. A pathetic example of stereotyping. Yet Jesus was African looking and black. Egyptians were coffee coloured Africans, not white and arabesque.
Ridley Scott was deeply admired for his movie making-  Now with one blow he has stripped himself of credibility and turned

Artistic impression of Jesus Christ as a black man. By Unknown Artist
Artistic impression of Jesus Christ as a black man. By Unknown Artist

the image of himself from admiration to revulsion. I refer to the CNN review of his movie ‘ Exodus: Gods and Kings’ (CNN writes ) — The new biblical epic from director Ridley Scott, “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” has a race problem. We’ve known since the moment the full cast was announced: nearly every major role in the movie is played by a white actor. What makes it worse for many observers is that, on the flip side, virtually every black actor in the movie is playing a part called “Egyptian thief” or “assassin” or “royal servant” or “Egyptian lower class civilian.”
If this is true Ridley scott plays the old game of bending history to suit the buyers of [art/history books/movies]. Facts do not matter. History does not matter. African National self esteem does not matter. Credit where credit is due does not matter. History must be bent/refomed/ remoulded/subject to revisionism so that the buyers of the movie/book/artwork congratulate themselves and buy into the true story with fake invented characters. What matters is the rustle of dollars of white movie goers in Europe and the USA.
Egyptians were white- not so? Wrong. They were the Africans before the black Bantu. They had coffee colored skin with bantu styled curly hair. I have in my possession a photo of the head of Tutankhamen and you can see his African curly hair beneath the helmet covering the top of his head. Egypt was occupied by Muslim invading Arabs, and the indigenous Africans were reduced to 10% of the population, while the other 90 % was mostly kind of white Arabs.
Jesus Christ was black or at least coffee colored…. oh no, I have offended people once again!!!!! Prophets accumulate enemies just by speaking truth. Read the Bible. Jacob was a smooth man as most Africans in Zimbabwe are. Esau was a hairy man as I am. Gen 27.11 By this we know definitely that Jesus did not look ‘European’. Esau was hairy like a European.
Next, look up the word ‘black’ in the [King James] bible. Job was black black black. Job 30:30-  My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.
Despite this clear statement of truth European artists, selling bibles to European buyers, create a wonderful white skinned straight haired British type Job in his sufferings, yet heroic in his ability to not only survive but triumph over suffering.
Then there is the beloved of Solomon, black but beautiful
Songs _1:5 I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem,
Songs_1:6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me:
Jeremiah the prophet was black
Jer_8:21 For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.
Jeremiah’s countrymen were black
Lam_5:10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
Jesus was a normal Jew. They were black therefore he was black … and not hairy like Esau and Europeans. Yet the artists were white, the readers were hairy, with straight hair-often blond, with white skin and behold…. a tradition of fictional British citizens and a British Jesus. White Jews and white Jesus’.
But this 5 minute research dies not bother Scott Ridley- he is selling to Europeans and they have to identify with heroes that look like them. Elementary research is unnecessary. Facts do not matter. Archaeology is ‘myths’. Egyptian artwork clearly showing tens of thousands of beautiful African maidens with braided hair is ignored. Sculptures of Egyptian monarchs in black granite is overlooked. Need I go on?
And Scott supports the urban myth that the criminals are black while the righteous heroes are white. … and Africans are servants to their euro white masters…. Pitiful.
How the mighty movie man has fallen. Do I laugh at the ludicrousness of it, do I cry over the tragedy of it or do denounce it with prophetic anger? I prefer to mock it, highlighting its ignorant stupidity and self absorbed pride. Like the Narcissus who was obsessed with his own image and starved to death, so Ridley Scott was starved himself of integrity and truth in order to flatter his euro audience who must see his own Euro image in every hero and the black man in every crime and servant role.
Ridley Scott, you have betrayed yourself. You have craved money, you have not done your research and in the process lost our respect. You have created an illusion. Filmed a fantasy. Be gone with your movie. I am not going to see it. The Jews are not going to see it and I hope Africa boycotts it.

CID Boss Freed from Prison, Acquitted

George Machinga
George Machinga

CRIMINAL Investigations Department (CID) Bulawayo fraud section boss Chief Detective Inspector George Machinga who was facing extortion charges after allegedly accepting a $300 bribe has been acquitted.
Machinga, 44, was arrested early this year for allegedly demanding $300 from Pardon Dube who had been arrested for masquerading as a lawyer.
In her judgment yesterday, Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove said the state had failed to avail sufficient evidence to prove that Machinga indeed demanded a bribe.
“The state witnesses gave contradicting testimonies which makes it difficult for the court to know what to believe. It’s clear that when Machinga left his office for the toilet he left his door unlocked and anything could have happened before he got back,” said Mushove.
She said detectives who searched Machinga’s office could have planted the $300 which was immediately ‘found’ after he got back from the toilet.
“The court therefore finds you not guilty of extortion,” said the magistrate.
The state had alleged that on June 19 this year, Dube received a call from Detective Sergeant Ncube to come to their offices on allegations of fraud.
“On the same day, Dube proceeded to Frauds Section but did not look for Sergeant Ncube but instead went to Machinga’s office to seek clarification on the matter. Machinga told Dube that Sergeant Ncube was ready to arrest him but he had discouraged him from doing so,” the state had alleged.
The court heard that Machinga told Dube that he had to look for $550 of which $300 was for buying his freedom and $250 to refund Cardelai Bhatshisi, the woman who had reported him (Dube) for fraud. Machinga then took Dube’s plastic identity card as surety that he would come back with the money.
“The following day, Dube went around looking for $300 but felt the demand was too much and approached police commanders at ZRP Provincial Headquarters (Ross Camp) where a plan to trap the accused was hatched. An authority to set a trap on Machinga was granted and Dube’s notes amounting $300 were photocopied before he took them to Machinga as bribe for his freedom,” the state had further stated. chronicle
On the same day at around 14:20PM, Dube proceeded to Machinga’s office at CID Frauds Section where he handed him $300 and was given his identity card and left.
Matanga told the court that on his way out, Dube alerted Chief Inspector Nsingo who rushed to Machinga’s office and conducted a search on him and his office.
After a thorough search, the denominations which had been photocopied and serial numbers recorded were discovered hidden inside a steel cabinet under a picture frame.
The team of police details then cross checked the denominations they had against the ones they had photocopied and they matched. Machinga was immediately arrested and detained at Donnington Police Station.
He was represented by his lawyer Mlamuli Ncube of Cheda and Partners and was granted $50 bail on June 23.
Throughout his trial, Machinga maintained his innocence, saying he had been framed as the money was planted in his office when he had gone to the toilet. – State Media

Cyanide Poison Attack on Mnangagwa

New Journalist on the block
Zimbabwe’s New Crime Reporter, “Reuuuben!” Robert Mugabe

There was an attempt to assassinate the newly appointed Zanu PF Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa Wednesday morning, President Robert Mugabe sensationally reported.
Mugabe personally broke the news way before any media house had received it including the ZBC itself, announcing while addressing his Politburo ceremony that unnamed assailants dramatically sprinkled cyanide in Mnangagwa’s office at the new government complex in Harare.
The Jonathan Moyo controlled ZBC reported that the poison instead affected Mnangagwa’s secretary on entering the office on the morning of Mnangagwa’s promotion to vice president. ZBC further said Mnangagwa’s secretary was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Cyanide is a deadly poison, which when inhaled causes a coma with seizures, apnea, and cardiac arrest, with death following in a matter of seconds. At lower doses, loss of consciousness may be preceded by general weakness, giddiness, headaches, vertigo, confusion, and perceived difficulty in breathing. Last year, cyanide killed over 100 elephants at Hwange National Park after it was put in a water source within the national park.
“Considering the fatality of the poison, one would wonder what would have happened had Cde Mnangagwa had entered his office together with his secretary for his routine official duties,” the ZBC later reported.

“He now has a chance to do what he wants with both party and national cash,” wrote a Glen View man only identified as Tafadzwa. Other surprise appointments were made on various posts.  (READ MORE)

Engineering concern Powerspeed Electrical after tax profit for the full year to September was up 40 percent to $653,000 driven by revenue growth from the group’s retail division.
Chief executive Hilton Macklin said an influx of imported products has resulted in the group scaling down its manufacturing unit, while adopting an aggressive drive for its retail division. He, however, said the manufacturing unit remained profitable albeit with low margins.
Revenue increased by 18 percent to $33 million while operating costs accelerated to $9,2 million from $7,9 million.

Costain unit In Alleged ‘Incestuous’ Relationship, Battle Over $19mln Bebt

Luanda A former unit of London Stock Exchange-listed construction firm, Costain, which was taken over by a local management consortium, has been accused of an ‘incestuous’ relationship with its sister company after management failed to separate the two entities’ books, the High Court heard on Wednesday.
The former Costain Zimbabwe, renamed Ceezed Construction, was placed under provisional judicial management in October 2014 – just over three years after the localisation of ownership – due to financial challenges resulting in the firm failing to meet its obligations when they fell due and some of its assets being seized.
The two companies, Ceezed and CZL Incorporated, have been operating as one with the former’s provisional judicial manager, Wesley Sibanda of Welsa International Chartered Accountants calling for the placement of CZL under administration to enable him to collect $19 million the firms are owed in order to pay creditors.
The companies’ assets were valued at $20 million while liabilities, including loans, stood at $10 million.
“There is an advanced corporate incest and the two companies have been enjoying borrowing loans worth over $6 million which were not separated and it’s now complicated to distribute their assets and liabilities,” Sibanda said.
“When the name changed, the contracts should have been transferred to Ceezed and that is where the problem is. Instead of Ceezed at the time of applying for judicial management, the business was recorded in the books of CZL.”
Sibanda said he found it difficult to collect debts owed to Ceezed because of its links to CZL and called for its placement under administration to facilitate recovery of the $19 million owed by debtors.
“I have been in contact with all the debtors and they don’t know who to pay – whether Ceezed or CZL,” he said.
He said an application had been made to the High Court to place CZL under judicial management with the order expected by February at which time Sibanda said he would be in a position to start paying creditors.
He said both companies, with a net worth position of $9 million were not insolvent and could be turned around under proper management.
During a meeting on Wednesday, creditors proved further claims worth over $300,000 while the firm was placed under final judicial management.
Costain changed its name to Ceezed in 2011 after a successful takeover of the company by a management consortium led by group executive chairman Tendai Chimuriwo. The Chimuriwo-led management consortium increased its stake in the company from 15 percent to 100 percent in the takeover, which was approved by the indigenisation ministry and hailed as a major step towards indigenisation and empowerment programme in the country.
Costain Africa (Private) Limited remains invested in Zimbabwe in the property sector, where it owns various buildings and prime property sites in major cities. The company won the tender to build the new hotel for Nssa in Beitbridge for $20 million.

President Robert Mugabe rushed to hold an urgent Extra-Ordinary Central Committee meeting at the Shake-Shake building Wednesday morning as he began making announcements.
The meeting began at 10am and its end time is not known as Mr Mugabe blows open the lid on his chosen few, his vision for the party, country and the new presidium.
A senior ZANU PF source who cannot be named told this reporter: “vaMugabe will make known everything in this meeting, just wait outside and you will see once we have finished.”
According to the ZANU PF Constitution, Mugabe can only appoint his deputies during a Congress session. But since this meeting is not a Congress sitting, the Central Committee assumes the role of Congress.

Attraction Is Just Attraction: Meaningful Relationships

IMFP ZE1
“Beauty gets attention but personality gets the heart!”
If you want people to like something, create something beautiful. But if you want people to love something, create something people will relate to. With time beauty always fades but relations can get stronger. Unforgettable things are the ones that touch peoples’ hearts, not what caught their attention. Human beings easily forget what caught our eyes but never forget what touches our hearts. So, try a little to touch hearts rather than impress.
Good looks attract but do not keep you in marriage! Good feelings make you feel good but do not make you stay!
Attraction is good because it draws our attention to something, so that we can investigate further. But our decisions to buy or get into a relationship or have long term engagement is not be based only on the attractiveness, it is based on how we relate to it! This is a wise way of making sustainable connections.
Building unforgettable things take time and energy.  It takes you inner most.
Few of your close friendships will reach twenty years old. What kept will keep you connected with these few is not money, toys etc, it is the compatibility of your characters. Over the same twenty year you will have spectacular friends who will come, and go. Their characters did not really click with yours; and it’s okay.
A good pay only attracts you to the job but does not retain! Good benefits look attractive but do not retain!
What makes a person stay for decades is how the work experience feels. That is why some people leave a good paying job to start a business.  What do you think?
Enjoy the rest of the week.

School-Security Guard Rapes Grade 1 Pupil

A 48 year-old security guard at Gutu United Primary School, Constantine Chipira, has appeared at the Gutu Magistrates’ Court facing charges of raping an 8-year-old pupil who is doing grade 1 there.
It is the State’s case that sometime in September at Mpandawana Town, under Chief Gutu, the accused on several occasions raped the complainant whilst on her way from school.
Chipira followed the complainant on her way from school, dragged her into the bush and had sexual intercourse with her, the prosecutor said.. It is said that raping the complainant had become routine to the accused.
Allegations are that Chipira had had sex with the complainant three times on different occasions in September. The matter came to light when the complainant told her mother who then went on to report the case to the Police resulting in the arrest of the accused.
The case was heard by Magistrate Nyasha Vhitorini.

Ben Freeth Blasts MDC-T

furious...Ben Freeth
furious…Ben Freeth

Veteran farmer and SADC Tribunal Watch head Ben Freeth writes blasting the Morgan Tsvangirai led MDC-T for neglect of duty on the New Constitution.

OPEN LETTER TO EDDIE CROSS, POLICY CO-ORDINATOR GENERAL FOR THE MDC
Dear Eddie
Your article: The Battle of the Titans – 28 November 2014
I remain distressed at your apparent blindness to the repugnant Section 72 of our “modern” and “brave new” Constitution, as you’ve referred to it previously. In your latest piece entitled “Battle of the Titans”, you write:
“Now we have adopted a new Constitution – the first crafted by Zimbabweans. It is a modern Constitution which entrenches all the values and norms that have been so damaged by the conflicts in our society since 1980.”
As you know I have been extremely vocal regarding Section 72 of the new Constitution. I believe implicitly that individual private property rights are fundamental to a functioning modern society. A country in which the State can take private property at the stroke of a pen and where individuals are expressly barred by the Constitution from getting any recourse is a backward country with a backward Constitution. Such a Constitution, contrary to what you say, goes against all “values and norms” of “modern constitutions” around the world.
As you are aware, we fought a successful legal battle in the SADC Tribunal to get this exact section – then Amendment Number 17 of the old Constitution – struck down. This very section then reappeared in the new Constitution – and it seems as if you are not prepared to acknowledge it, either in your recent speech to the jurists in Cape Town or, after I pointed it out to you, even now.
The battle to get Amendment 17 struck down ultimately cost a great deal – the life of my father-in-law, Mike Campbell, being the most significant cost to us. For you to gloss over the reincarnated Amendment 17 as Section 72, is a very sad indictment of where you, and your part of the so-called democratic movement, are at.
Proper Constitutional democracy does not allow the theft of private property from individuals without legal recourse, as is allowed by our new Constitution – and as is taking place at the moment. To have legislated ouster clauses in our Constitution go directly against the rule of law and have no place in a modern Constitution!
Just to be sure that you are familiar with Section 72 of the Constitution I wish to quote parts of it:
“(2) Where agricultural land”, [agricultural land is where 70% of the people of Zimbabwe live] “or any right or interest in such land, is required for a public purpose… the land right or interest may be acquired by the State by notice published in the Gazette…whereupon the land, right or interest vests in the State with full title with effect from the date of the publication of the notice.
“(3) (a) no compensation is payable …
“(b) no person may apply to court for the determination of any question relating to compensation…and no court may entertain such application; and
“(c) the acquisition may not be challenged on the ground that it was discriminatory…
“(5) As soon as practical after agricultural land is acquired in accordance with subsection (2), the officer responsible for registration of title over land must, without further notice, effect the necessary endorsements upon any title deed and entries in any register for the purpose of formally cancelling the title deed and registering the States title over the land.
“(6) An act of parliament may make it an offence for any person, without lawful authority, to possess or occupy agricultural land referred to in this section or other State land.”
It is a simple equation: if the State can control all the land, it can control all the people. As it stands, under the Constitution, the State can throw anyone off the land it chooses. Ironically, even the most senior chefs with 99 year leases can fall foul of the Party and have their leases cancelled in 3 months.
Those with title can have it taken by the State at the stroke of a pen. Those that then continue to stay on what immediately becomes State land can be put in prison for up to 2 years. This leaves almost all of the more than a million farm workers still on the land “without lawful authority” liable to spend 2 years in jail for remaining in their houses under the “modern” Constitution if the State decides to use the law to control them. I really find it inconceivable that any democrat can be enthralled with a Constitution that says such things!
Will a Constitution that does not protect property rights bring investment? Of course not!
Will it create employment? Not at all!
Will it bring productivity to revive commerce and industry? No way!
Will it create tax money to revive education and health? An emphatic no!
Eddie, your courage, dedication and perseverance are unquestionable and I salute you for these things! It is extremely problematic however, when you make inaccurate and misleading claims about our Constitution when it explicitly fails to protect and promote the fundamental, basic and most far reaching right of individual private property rights for the people.
To pretend that our brave new Constitution “entrenches values and norms” is to walk to the edge of a cliff and carry on walking in the mistaken believe that gravity will somehow not take effect.
Yours sincerely
Ben Freeth

THE Young Warriors dropped two crucial points when they were held by Angola in a rain-drenched exciting African Union Sports Council Region 5 Under-20 Youth Games men’s football encounter played at Barbourfields (BF) Stadium yesterday.
The seemingly fatigued Young Warriors, who had played Swaziland at Luveve Stadium on Monday, dropped to second position in Group A.
Malawi leapt to the top spot with six points as they came from behind to beat Mozambique at Luveve Stadium yesterday.
Angola remain on third spot with four points, while Mozambique, with the same number of points, are on position four due to an inferior goal difference after losing to Malawi at Luveve Stadium.
Young Warriors must win their last group match against Malawi on Friday.
Young Warriors must win their last group match against Malawi on Friday.

Young Warriors must win their last group match against Malawi on Friday. The log leaders have what looks like an easy encounter against Swaziland at BF today.
Total Football Academy product Thomas Kadyaridzire rescued the Young Warriors with a 79th minute equaliser after Angola had scored first through Cristofer Luzala Mbuini in the 49th minute.
Young Warriors coach Tafadzwa Mashiri conceded that it’s a must-win encounter against Malawi on Friday.
“It’s a must-win for us against Malawi,” he said.
“We should have killed the game today and would have been in a good position to remain in the competition. We were affected by suspension with our captain (Mathias Chodeva) having accumulated two yellow cards. We also made one injury-inspired change to the team and that affected us.”
Angola, still with a chance, also play their last tie against Swaziland tomorrow at Luveve Stadium.
Coach Simao José said Zimbabwe played a good game, but he believed they still had a chance to make it to the semi-finals.
“Zimbabwe are a good team and they played a good game,” he said.
“It was difficult to win. It was 50-50. We had equal opportunities. We still have a chance to qualify. If we were able to play well against Zimbabwe who were at home then we can beat Swaziland.”
Swaziland will have to win both their matches against Malawi and Angola while Mozambique have already being knocked out of the competition.
The top two teams qualify for the semi-finals and Zimbabwe, Angola, Malawi and Swaziland all still have a chance in the five-team group.
Rescheduling of the fixtures by Cosafa has seen teams play games within 24 hours in breach of the standard, at least 36 to 48 hours rest for players after taking part in competitive matches as regulated by Fifa.
Another revised schedule of fixtures was released by Cosafa yesterday. Heavy rains pounded BF, but that did not stop the home fans from cheering their boys on after Mbuini had struck in the 49th minute.
A crude tackle by central defender Trevor Zidoro on Angola’s danger man Vladimir Eston Antonio earned his side a free-kick just on the edge of the penalty box.
Mbuini’s strike curled past the Young Warriors’ wall, beating goalkeeper Kelvin Shangiwa on the near post.
But when all seemed over for the Young Warriors, Kadyaridzire received a pass from the centre, dribbled past Angola defender Fernando Jacinto Quissanga before unleashing a thunderbolt that beat goalkeeper Sebastio Coio all systems out.
Kadyaridzire had an effort saved by Coio in the 32nd minute after receiving a cross from impressive right linkman Ishmael Munsaka.

Why Mugabe Rushed To Save Sekeramayi

Zanu-PF’s Mashonaland East bigwgs, Sydney Sekeramayi and David Parirenyatw earlier accused of supporting Joice Mujuru were saved from expulsion Tuesday through Robert Mugabe’s mercy yesterday.
Robert Mugabe moved to allow the two to be re-elected into the Central Committee in fresh polls held in districts in the province.
Other provincial heavyweights Paddy Zhanda, Jerry Gotora, Newton Kachepa and Eric Navaya also emerged victors in their respective districts with Joel Biggie Matiza the only big shot who failed to make it.
Although the state media reported claiming that Zanu-PF ordered fresh elections in the province following concerns that the list submitted to the 6th National People’s Congress last week did not reflect the wishes of the people, close sources to the developments said Mugabe himself had intervened to restore “Sekeramayi’s dignity”.
One source who cannot be named because of his own accusations of being linked to the disgraced businessman Ray Kaukonde told this reporter, “if it was not for President Mugabe Sekeramayi would be on the street right now.” They added saying the reason was because Sekeramayi had apologised to Mugabe for his links with Kaukonde.
“But it was good for Comrade Sekeramayi to apologise,” the source said.
The recent development could see Sekeramayi retaining his ministerial post despite earlier threats to relinquish him of it.
In Goromonzi, Zhanda, Gorden Mujahwe and Felix Zhangazha won the elections while in Seke, Blanco Matsangura, Tabeth Murwira and Joseph Mubaiwa made it. In Murehwa, Parirenyatwa, Stanley Jakopo and Lilian Zemura made it into the Central Committee with Matiza losing out. The ZANU PF Central Committee members elected in Mutoko are Japhet Chinake, Annah Kadiki and Ordo Nyakudanga while Mudzi had Kachepa, Navaya and Christopher Musa.
Meanwhile Sekeramayi has thanked party officials for standing by him.
“The will of the people has prevailed. I thank you for heeding the call by President Mugabe that fresh elections be held and indeed they have been done in a peaceful environment. To those who lost, we are one and let us work together for the development of the province and the party at large.”

13 ‘Abducted’ Zim Kids Found in Botswana

BOTSWANA police are investigating an incident in which 13 children without travel documents were found on a minibus in the country.
The children, aged three to 13, were believed to be Zimbabwean, said spokesperson Near Bagal on Tuesday.
The children were found on Monday morning during a police operation in Francistown and two men were held for questioning.
The minibus was travelling from Masunga village to Francistown.
Police and immigration officials had engaged with their Zimbabwean counterparts to identify the parents of the children, Bagal said.

Mujuru Abuses Dotito As She Breaks Her Silence

opinion_angry1 - CopyFormer Vice President Joice Mujuru has committed a grave sin against the people of Dotito who she has abused in ways that will need sacrificing 500 live bulls.

Having analyzed Vice President Mujuru’s first public speech yesterday as she broke her silence after being sidelined for corruption and public scandals, I just want to remind the public that now Joice Mujuru realizes a need for support from the people of Dotito more than she ever before. All these glossy years she had never publicly associated with the rural people of Dotito as her career kept excelling. She never even identified with them, let alone publicly acknowledge that she was from that backward part of the country. Today Dotito is caricatured and mocked as a backward rural spot in the middle of nowhere. Many hardly know where that is.  Anyone who wants to make fun of an unknown place, Dotito sounds convenient. If Mai Mujuru loved her rural home, today Dotito could be on the limelight. Many could know the place through a good way and feel proud to identify with it. Unfortunately, Dotito remains a dark crevice that no one wants to be reminded of.
It is just sad that Mai Mujuru now appeals to the wonderful people of Zimbabwe as a daughter of Dotito area in Mount Darwin. She states that she is a simple girl from the village who was illiterate at independence. She then goes on to mention that she has all these years fought hard to make sure people have access to clean water, good health facilities and good infrastructure. This she states to make a public appeal and yet she forgets to elucidate further as to how she worked hard for the people despite her empty and countless promises to the masses year in year out. She even has the audacity to state that she saw the advancement of women during her days as the VP in Zimbabwe. What she forgot to mention was that she herself was the beneficiary of the affirmative action and she jealously guarded against the advancement of any other women that she kept under as cooks, singers and dancers in her rallies. She just wanted them to be her cheerleaders as she rose to fame and power. She never brought any sewing machine, needle, crotch or any kind of sustainable project to Mount Darwin.

Mujuru will be president...JIP
Mujuru….Once ashamed of poor and backward Dotito

Mai Mujuru never brought or caused the construction of any dam, road, school, bus station shelter, dip tank or bridge among the very village people that sent her off to national representation. As if that was not already enough of a problem, she never wanted to see anyone from Mount Darwin do better. That was why she fought tooth and claw to ensure that Strive Masiyiwa would never establish his telecommunications business in Zimbabwe in the late nineties. Were it not for Father Zimbabwe, the late Joshua Nyongolo Mqabuko Nkomo who reprimanded her and her fellow vindictive lot to “stop harassing the young innocent man [Strive] ”, there would be no Econet in Zimbabwe today.
Mai Mujuru was a selfish leader who just spearheaded her own selfish interests regardless of cost or social relations. She was one of the most corrupt leaders in ZANU PF and she went out of her way to amass wealth by any means as she wrestled from those with little. She never advanced the causes of the poor as she remained ruthless, unscrupulous and carefree. She never thought about developing her region. She made it a point that Mount Darwin would remain the same ancient place that was occupied by Chief Mutota and Changamire Dombo in ancient history. That was just how cruel she was.
So here she is now. Dotito is now her shield word. She now wants people to feel sorry for her. Now she is back to the same spot where she started and she needs people to identify with her. How history forgets itself! It is just unfortunate that she is so forgetful that if she had cared for the people of Mashonaland, maybe they could have defended her fort. Unfortunately she amassed billions of dollars and mines and factories as she buried her head in the sand to protect her empire for Kuzivakwashe and the other siblings.
And she is not the only one. Mashonaland Central leaders are notorious for being heavy-handed and blind among their own. They do not bring development and they take the Korekore people for granted. I just wish Mai Mugabe could keep going and dislodging all the deadwood especially from Mashonalanad Central. These have been the main reaosn why Zimbabwe is retrogressing. They remain selfish and ignorant of the needs of their masses.
To mai Mujuru, I say this was karma. If you do bad to others, it will catch up with you somehow. And be nice to those you meet on your way up for you shall need them as you fall down. Look at Nicholas Goche and Lazarus Dokora. Finally reality has struck. In Korekore language they say, Manga matidichira. Meaning this was long overdue. Chiendai munoenzera. Go and sleep well.

Woman Impregnated By “Dead Man”

Gokwe Nemangwe community have been left in a state of shock after news broke forth of a woman who was forced to make love to her dead husband (necrophilia) before burial as per the deceased’s demand, was found now pregnant.
This came to light at the weekend pending DNA tests, after the sisters of the late Nemangwe man announced to their close relatives on discovery of the unusual situation that has left villagers tongue tied. The woman identified as Sarah Simirayi, of Svisvi village under chief Nemangwe, left her husband for a heavy truck driver sometime two years ago, and returned when her boyfriend ditched her for another new lover.
Sarah who has been away for a couple of years, returned only to find her 68 year old husband stressed from her departure, and died a few weeks of her return.
The late husband Nunurayi Musamo, who was also a former soldier, in the Rhodesian army left a note that he wanted read at his funeral, and that letter contained a message that he died of missing his beloved wife and also that he would need to make love to her before burial.
The shocking message was delivered to Sarah who tried to resist, but later accepted the most difficult task.
This reporter managed to interview Sarah who preferred not to be pictured, and she said, “I went to a pharmacy at the town centre and bought some pregnancy test materials, which tested positive thereby confirming I am pregnant. I am yet to go for scanning so that I will be in a position to know if the baby is a boy or a girl.”
A source close to the family claims that the husband’s manhood was in full erection, after they opened the coffin and Sarah removed her underwear, before going on top of the corpse to insert the late husband’s manhood, in the view of the late husband’s two sisters, who were ululating, as a gesture of appeasing the spirit of the late Musamo.
Asked how she felt after the said “sexual encounter” with her dead husband on the fateful day, Simirayi told ZimEye, “I felt the sperms moving in my body as if my late husband did when he was still alive. I think I also need to consult prophets and traditional healers; I am now confused as to what will happen to this pregnancy,” she said.
A source who refused to be named added voice claiming to ZimEye that the dead man ejaculated, soon after the penetration, and the erection disappeared, leading to the body viewing and subsequent burial of the man.
This reporter visited the Svisvi village head and he admitted receiving that information, but opted to down play it. “This is a purely private issue that traditional leaders cannot dwell upon. People have their own cultures and values and that must be respected,” he said before ordering this journalist not to take any photos of him, if he wanted to come back for more stories next time.
When ZimEye visited the two families, Musamo and Simirayi, they were engaged in serious talks on the future of Sarah. They also promised to come back with a comment as soon as they finalise the required cultural ceremonies.
This reporter has made a strict request to the family so that DNA tests can be conducted as soon as the baby has been born in order to confirm the veracity of the pregnancy claim.

Baba Jukwa Ruling Delayed Again

The High Court ruling on whether The Sunday Mail Editor Edmund Kudzayi and his brother Philip accused of being the main characters behind the shadowy Facebook blog Baba Jukwa should remain on remand or not, has been deferred again to today (Wednesday)
Reasons given were that the presiding magistrate was said to be attending to other business.
The brothers have submitted their application for refusal of further remand arguing that their right to trial within a reasonable time should not be trampled on citing several reasons one of them being the long delay in finalsing so called extra-territorial investigations amid revelations Investigating Officer Crispen Makedenge did not at all travel to the United States as before claimed, (Click here here to READ MORE-Baba Jukwa Case: Makedenge Denied US Visa)

8 Hrs CountDown, Will “Cotton-Soft” Mnangagwa Land Power?

It is exactly 20hours before the exact moment Robert Mugabe should splash out his grand decision on who is going to be the second most powerful person in this former British colony.
Investors, local Zimbabweans and the international community are all waiting having strained their patience for more than 14 years to date on who is to take over the reins of power soon after Mugabe has breathed his last. This is vital to know now that Joice Mujuru has been kicked out.
Wednesday afternoon could have surprises although the bulk of commentators say the man who announces that he is “As Soft As Cotton Wool” , Emmerson Mnangagwa will be made First Vice President. If he does make it, it will be against First Lady Grace Mugabe’s latest wishes, unless she changes her mind to believe in Mnangagwa’s softness, (READ MORE).

If Mnangagwa does make it however, this will be Mugabe’s own experiment using the man he feared most. It will mean that Mugabe has agreed on Ngwena’s claims that Robert Mugabe is so popular between heaven and earth that God Almighty The Creator Himself also wears the Gushungo Regalia. (READ MORE)

BREAKING NEWS: Mugabe Fires Mujuru, Eight Ministers

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe has fired his deputy Joice Mujuru, days after she lost her post in the ruling party, offficials said.
Mugabe sacked Mujuru on Tuesday and was expected to name a new cabinet, officials cited by the Reuters news agency said.
Eight other ministers are reported to have been given the sack along woth Mujuru according to the Jonathan Moyo controlled State Media.
They includeWebster Shamu (Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier
Services), Simbarashe Mudarikwa (Minister of State for
Mashonaland East Province), Francis Nhema (Minister
of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment), Olivia Muchena (Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology
Development), Nicholas Goche (Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare), Didymus Mutasa
(Minister of Presidential Affairs), Dzikamai Mavhaire (Minister of Energy and Power Development) and
Munacho Mutezo (Deputy Minister of Energy and Power
Development).
The sources, who declined to be named because they are not authorised to speak to the news media, said Mujuru had received her dismissal letter on Monday night after weeks of accusations that she had led a “treacherous cabal” to try to unseat Mugabe.
Al Jazeera Haru Mutasa, reporting from the capital Harare, said Mugabe “says he has evidence that Mujuru met with US officials, and in this meeting they plotted a plan to try and remove” him from office.
“Supporters of ZANU-PF are concerned that there could be a split [in the party]. They know that Mujuru has been a member of the party for many years – even before independence from British rule in 1980,” said our correspondent.
“She does have a following – a lot of women supporters thought that she would perhaps be the first woman president of Zimbabwe one day, should Mugabe step down.”
‘Smear campaign’
Mujuru on Tuesday blamed “a well-orchestrated smear campaign and gross abuse of state apparatus” that led to the loss of her ruling party post and shook Zimbabwean politics, the AFP news agency reported.
Mujuru, who once looked likely to succeed long-ruling Mugabe, has been accused of plotting to assassinate the 90-year-old and removed from the ruling ZANU-PF party’s central committee.
She said she was being victimised after exposing infiltrators conspiring to destroy the party, which has ruled the country since independence in 1980.
“I have become the fly in the web of lies whose final objective is the destruction of ZANU-PF and what it stands for and ultimately the present government,” Mujuru said in a statement.
“A vociferous attempt has been made to portray me as ‘a traitor’, ‘murderer’ and ‘sellout’, yet no iota of evidence has been produced to give credence to the allegations.”
ZANU-PF held an elective congress last week which endorsed Mugabe as president and his wife Grace as head of the women’s wing.

BREAKING NEWS: Mugabe Wants Mavhaire, Mutezo Arrested After Their Expulsion

President Robert much awaited cabinet reshuffle has begun with him hunting down two ministers (said to be Joice Mujuru allies) and seeking their  immediate arrest.

Energy Minister Dzikamai Mavhaire and his deputy Eng Munacho Mutezo were last night fired from office. They were served with their expulsion letters in an operation that had State House staff work overtime to ensure the two are sent home.
Following their ouster, the Jonathan Moyo controlled State Media announced that they should be arrested for abuse of office and corruption. While the charges were not independently verified, there was wide speculation that Mavhaire is being persecuted for criticising Billy Rautenbach’s ethanol project which was corruptly launched with the help of several ZANU PF gurus without due process, operational and environmental impact assessment.

Meanwhile Mavhaire who is known for being the first ZANU PF politician to boldly call for Mugabe’s retirement in the late 90s, was alleged to have been a key Mujuru ally seeking to elevate the latter to the Presidency. Analysts say it is Mr Mugabe himself who wants Mavhaire arrested. More to follow…

Baba Jukwa Case: Makedenge Denied US Visa

wants justice?..Edmund Kudzayi
given a wait..Edmund Kudzayi

The Baba Jukwa case took a twist Tuesday amid revelations that Investigative Officer Assistant Commissioner Crispen Makedenge, has been denied a US visa.
A source revealed to this reporter Makedenge never flew to the United States as earlier claimed by the Prosecutor.
“Obviously the US government will not comment on individual cases of visa applicants but you can see it for yourself from Makedenge if he ever entered US territory,” an embassy source told this reporter pointing that Makedenge was never given US passage to travel to that country so to investigate the Baba Jukwa email and Facebook account.
Makedenge has already been finger-pointed by the main accused, Edmund Kudzayi of deleting several email records in the Baba Jukwa email account during the time he was in control of it before it was taken back through the help of the US based Google company. It is widely believed Makedenge himself was part and parcel or a key member of the Baba Jukwa syndicate.
The latest revelations on the Visa denial were further confirmed by repeated judicial requests by the Prosecutor to Harare magistrate Mr Milton Serima to stretch the court case and keep the Sunday Mail Editor Edmund Kudzayi and his brother Philip, on remand. Despite the convincing evidence however, prosecutor Ms Sharon Mashavira today urged the court to postpone the matter pending finalisation of extra territorial investigations, saying the United States department of justice and criminal division was yet to assist in the case.
“US, Washington DC department of justice criminal division in the office of international affairs, have sent letters in response to State’s request pertaining investigations,” said Ms Mashavira.
“We are still waiting for documents from Google and Facebook which will form part of the evidence. It would not be in the interest of justice to remove the accused from remand considering the complexity of the matter which requires mutual legal assistance.”
The Kudzayi brothers’ lawyer Mr Rubaya told the court that the continued wait for the letters from the US exposed Asst Comm Makedenge as having done nothing with regards the matter so far.
“This is an old song being repeated today,” he said.
“If Asst Comm Makedenge was denied assistance, he should tell us. We don’t want to believe that the State is being used by a political hoax, but they leave us to presume.
“The steps taken so far are elementary which, should have been done before arresting the accused.
“There is no guarantee that they will have the information, let them investigate until Jesus’ second coming, but the accused’s rights to trial within a reasonable time should not be trampled upon.”
Edmund and Philip are facing charges involving banditry, insurgency and demeaning the Office of the President by allegedly running an online campaign against the Government under the Facebook page, Baba Jukwa.
It is alleged that in April last year, Edmund hatched a plan with Philip to overthrow the Government through unconstitutional means.
They allegedly created a Gmail account, [email protected], using a mobile phone line registered in Philip’s name, but used by Edmund.
The State says the two allegedly posted articles on the Baba Jukwa Facebook page, which encouraged rebellion against the Zanu-PF Government.
They also posted articles to the effect that they had a Dare Rechimurenga in place and that a team was on the ground studying the situation in Zimbabwe, the State says.
The Prosecutor says investigations have revealed that Edmund and Philip were the ones in control of the Baba Jukwa Gmail account.
The court further heard that Philip opened an account with a local bank, which he accessed payments for Amai Jukwa articles, which were authored and published by Edmund.

RBZ Seeks Miracles Amid Political Pricks

wpid-harare.jpgWith no currency of its own and reduced by years of mismanagement to a shadow of its former self, Zimbabwe’s central bank struggles to prop up troubled banks and help revive the country’s fortunes.
Now, that could change if the new Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) chief John Mangudya maintains his strategy to shift from bad old policies that crippled the bank while steering clear of politics as he seeks a turning point for the banking sector and economy.
But he still has to find a way past two major hurdles that probably could dash hopes of polishing the bank’s image and fixing the financial system: Zanu PF politics and the country’s unsustainable external debt.
Being at the helm of a an institution that had become notorious for bending rules and shifted its focus to the personal whims of politicians can be no easy feat, especially amid political turmoil.
Should President Robert Mugabe decide to remain in power and investors continue to shun the country as a result, it will effectively test Mangudya’s ability to get around these setbacks.
Zimbabwe is in the throes of a severe liquidity crisis that has squeezed banks and forced scores of cash-strapped firms to shut down. A number of smaller local lenders have collapsed while others teeter on the brink.
One of Mangudya’s main worries is bad loans that spiked to critical levels of 20 percent in October this year, from 18 percent in June.
But his recent move to free banks from danger by buying toxic loans from them has been widely praised as a masterstroke likely to prevent many from going bust even as financial sector recovery has proven to be elusive.
Fewer options are available to him at the moment, presenting quite a jolt for monetary policy at a time when the Zimdollar has since 2009 been shelved in favour of a basket of hard foreign currencies.
The artistic RBZ head reiterated last week that certain economic fundamentals ought to be achieved before the reserve bank were to consider printing the local currency again; saying an early return for it would be suicidal.
“What would be the fundamental reasons for (early) re-introduction of the local currency? That will be economic suicide…” Mangudya cautioned.
He gave the warning at a conference to unveil new special coins meant to alleviate a shortage of lower denomination currency and make business transactions easier.
The Zimbabwe Asset Management Company, formed earlier this year to buy bad debts from banks, has to date acquired US$60 million worth of non-performing loans that have assets backing them.

But the central bank will have to make do with that in the time being as long as time is not yet ripe for the local currency’s to bounce back, with international reserve not enough to cover it.
Already dogged by a lack of foreign investment due to President Robert Mugabe’s hostile indigenisation policy, current Zanu PF internal power struggles threaten to stoke economic troubles further.
Zimbabwe’s economy had steadily been on a recovery path after a decade-long downturn marked by an annual inflation rate which peaked to 500 billion percent in 2008.
That rebound ended after a July 2013 election saw Mugabe claim “resounding victory” in what the mainstream opposition MDC party says was plain electoral theft.
According to the latest International Monetary Fund foreasts, Zimbabwe’s economy grew by a robust 10.5 percent in 2012, while it will decelerate to 4.5 percent in 2013.
The growing signs of another economic disaster waiting to happen could stifle Mangudya’s intentions if the solution as to who will succeed ailing Mugabe, 90, is not quickly found.
The Mugabe sucession confusion has cast a shadow on the livelihoods of average Zimbabweans, many of whom rely on the goodwill of foreign donors and those in the diaspora for survival.
Vowing to “get back to basics” and “to clean up and strengthen banks’ balance sheets and provide them with the liquidity to fund valuable projects for the economy”, the central bank has set itself a goal that is as prudent as it may later prove to be a tall order.
Could this be this be the beginning of an epoch-making era for an institution bogged down by many years of reckless policies and blatant disregard for its autonomy?
The jury is still out for Mangudya because the major hurdles that have spooked Zimbabwe and held back its economic potential are still lurking in the shadows of Mugabe’s lengthy rule, but he is certainly putting a brave fight.

Joice Mujuru Silent As MDC Activists and 30,000 Civilians Are Killed and Only Screams When Mugabe Farts!

WIlbert Mukori
WIlbert Mukori

“I am grateful to the Lord that I am able to address you once again, despite the ever present but still unlawful threats against my person,” started VP Mujuru in her press statement. The whole statement continued and finished along the same vein of sanctimonious half-truths and damned lies! She would have never signed the statement as a sworn statement to be produced in a court of law, yet she willingly evoked the name of the Lord to bear witness to the half-truths and damn lies!

Madam, Zanu PF has systematically denied the people of Zimbabwe their basic and fundamental freedoms and human rights including the right to a meaningful vote and even the right to life itself but please, please do not make the mistake of thinking that we are all stupid and blind.
We know it is Mugabe’s modus operandi to accuse all those he considers a threat to his strangle-hold on political power of all manner of criminal activities ranging from petty crime to treason, for example. Rarely if ever are the accused ever brought before a court of law and evidence produced but rarer still is anyone ever convicted after transparent due process. However having made the accusation, Mugabe uses this as cover for harassing, intimidating, threatening and depriving his opponent and his/her supporters basic human rights. He will do whatever it takes, including rigging the vote and/or murder, to ensure he “wins” the election and stay in power.
So Madam when you say “A vociferous attempt has been made to portray me as “a traitor”, “murderer ” and “sell out”, yet not a single iota of evidence has been produced to give credence to the allegations,” you are not telling us anything new that we have not seen happen before.
You, as a very senior member of this Zanu PF regime, must have been aware of the party’s dirty political trickery. For the record, the regime has murdered over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans for selfish political gain in its 34 years in power. Throughout all these years and the shedding of blood of all these thousands, you have never lifted a finger to stop this madness.
Are you doing it now because you are now the victim of the Zanu PF political machination? Or is it because you are human and those who lost their lives in the past are not quite human beings?
Now that Mugabe has thrown you out of Zanu PF, rightly or wrongly, justly or otherwise; you will have to make-up your ‘simple mind’, as Mugabe called it. Is your loyalty still with Mugabe, with the Zanu PF members who dared to support you and who too have been purged or it is with the ordinary Zimbabweans whom Zanu PF betrayed since 1980 by denying them their the basic human rights and dignity?
To us Mugabe is a corrupt and murderous tyrant who has systematically denied us, the masses, povo, our basic rights and dignity. To us, all this “His Excellency” crap makes us want to puke.
The fact that you still refuse to see Mugabe for the corrupt and tyrant he is even with the benefit of what you have witnessed him doing to you and those who have supported and followed (foolishly as it has turned out) you as their leaders show that Mugabe was right in dismissing you as a simpleton, not fit to hold high office.
Why Mugabe promoted you to be VP has to do with his own Satanic desire to surround himself with simpletons who pose no threat to his hold on power which is at odds with the national interest of appointed the most competent person for every position.
Madam if you should ever want to win the sympathy of the ordinary people of Zimbabwe, then you must stop treating them as if they are all stupid. You insult our intelligence when you deny that you are corrupt.
However the greatest public good you could do this nation at this critical time in our national
history is to tell the truth about last year’s rigged elections.
Zimbabwe is stuck in this political limbo because everyone is refusing to deal with an illegitimate Zanu PF regime. Even if Zanu PF finally scrapped the ill-advised indigenisation law, for example, no one in the world will ever trust the regime yourself included whether you remain in or out of government.
If you want our sympathy, open your mouth now before it is too late and before you become insignificant. Know for certainty that after Friday this week, no journalist anywhere in the world will recognise your face even for a newspaper advert rental.

Kombi Accident Nearly Kills 9

NINE people were seriously injured when a kombi they were travelling in veered off the road after being hit by a Toyota Ipsum on its left side along Old Esigodini Road adjacent to Ilanda suburb on Sunday.
The accident happened at around 6pm, with the injured passengers immediately being ferried to nearby United Bulawayo Hospitals.
The kombi was ferrying people from the city centre to Manningdale when the Toyota Ipsum that was exiting the Infectious Disease Hospital at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) reportedly failed to give way.
The driver of the kombi fled the scene after realising that his passengers were badly hurt, an issue that made most eyewitnesses suspect that he was either under the influence of alcohol or unlicensed.
Efforts to get a comment from the police were fruitless as the Bulawayo spokesperson referred questions to Harare, while his counterparts in Harare referred questions back to Bulawayo.
Eye witnesses and a passenger told the Southern Eye that the kombi driver was speeding and the Ipsum driver failed to give way to the traffic coming from his right, leading to the accident.
“The Ipsum driver is lucky not to be hurt because he was wearing his seatbelt, he was wrong in not giving way and so was the kombi driver in speeding,” a local vendor known as MaNcube said.
“We hope no one dies from injuries sustained from this accident.”
A passenger, Themba Maphosa, said he was lucky not to be injured as he was sitting in the back seat.

US Embassy Speaks Out, Blasts Mugabe on Mujuru Assassination Claims

United States State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki.
United States State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

UNITED States State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki has dismissed as unfounded claims by President Robert Mugabe that the US was in an unholy alliance with Vice President Joice Mujuru to assassinate him.
Psaki said the allegations were baseless and were unworthy of a response.
“Allegations made about the activities of the US embassy in Zimbabwe are baseless and do not merit a response,” she said.
“The United States remains a steadfast friend of the Zimbabwean people.”
Psaki’s remarks follow Mugabe’s claims on Saturday that Mujuru, who is seemingly out of her way from Zanu PF, was plotting with the US embassy to remove him from office.
Mugabe told about 12 000 members of the ruling Zanu PF party that his spies followed Mujuru to the embassy, where he said she held secret meetings to plan his assassination.
The three-day party congress formalised First Lady Grace’s position as leader of the Zanu PF women’s league, re-elected the 90-year-old Mugabe to a new five-year term as party president and authorised him to choose his vice-presidents and other top party officials.
“I am open to competition, but not when it involves taking me out the Kabila way,” Mugabe said, referring to the former leader of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Laurent Kabila, who was assassinated by one of his bodyguards in 2001.
“I met Joice when she was a young kid in the war,” he said.
“I strengthened her and even pushed her to get an education until she got a doctorate.”
Mujuru became a member of the Cabinet at 25 when Mugabe was elected president in 1980.
Mugabe said his wife, Grace, pushed him to appoint Mujuru as vice-president in 2004.

Royal Bank Property Goes Under the Hammer

Property belonging to the now defunct Royal Bank, which was placed under liquidation at the beginning of the year will this week be auctioned in Harare and Bulawayo to recover creditor’s funds.
The bank owes its creditors $3,7 million.
According to a notice issued by Hammer and Tongues Auctioneers, the bank’s assets that include vehicles, equipment, household and office furniture will go under thee hammer on Friday and Saturday in the two cities.
“Duly instructed by Tudor House Consultants (Pvt) Ltd, the liquidators of Royal Bank Zimbabwe Limited under liquidation will sell the following assets by auction. Ford ranger pickup, Mazda B1800, Isuzu KB double cab, generator, four plate stove, dining room suites, television sets, Chubb money safes, computer sets…,’ read one of the notices.
Royal Bank was placed under provisional liquidation on February 20 after it surrendered its operating licence to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe when it failed to secure new investors.

Zimbabwe Cabinet Ministers Reshuffle This Morning

Dr. Misheck Sibanda, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet says Cabinet will sit this morning Tuesday 9th December 2014 in Parliament. The Cabinet meeting comes at a time some senior Government officials, including Vice President Joice Mujuru, are in trouble for reportedly plotting to unseat President Mugabe.
Many are keen to see if Mujuru will attend the Cabinet meeting considering that she has been boycotting some high-level Zanu-PF meetings, including the party’s just-ended 6th National People’s Congress. According to her latest public statement, she has been mindful of her personal security as the youths were meant to be unleashed on her for a physical assault.
A shake-up of the Cabinet is looming in the wake of the Congress resolution that all implicated in the plot to unseat the President, be punished without fear or favour; and President Mugabe’s announcement that all culprits whether at ministerial, deputy ministerial or civil service level face the boot.
Meanwhile, Mugabe will this week appoint a new Zanu-PF Politburo that will not feature several heavyweights who have relegated themselves to political oblivion by seeking to ouster President Mugabe. The changes could be a precursor to a Cabinet shakeup.
Major casualties in both the party and State executives are likely to be VP Mujuru, Presidential Affairs minister Didymus Mutasa, Public Service Nicholas Goche, Education Minister Lazarus Dokora and ICT Minister Webster Shamhu. Minister Francis Nhema, Olivia Muchena, Dzikamai Mavhaire, Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, Flora Bhuka, and Simbabneuta Mudarikwa also face uncertain future.
Senior government officials such as permanent secretaries and directors who were implicated in the faction related issues could also face the ouster. In line with the ratification of amendments to the party’s constitution, any member who is passed a vote of no confidence faces a five year suspension or expulsion. The amendments also established an elections commission to take over management of internal polls from the commissariat.

FULL TEXT: Mujuru Responds to Mugabe

MUJURUSTATPRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE HONOURABLE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE, AND MEMBER OF THE RULING PARTY, ZANU PF – HONOURABLE DR. JOICE TEURAI ROPA MUJURU, TO THE CITIZEN’S OF ZIMBABWE.
Dear Comrades, friends, fellow citizens and countrymen:
I am grateful to the Lord that I am able to address you once again, despite the ever present but still unlawful threats against my person. The State Media, has continued to publish malicious untruths about me in the run up to, and after the 6th Congress of the ruling Zanu PF party.
Having listened intently to the numerous unfounded allegations levelled against me, I feel compelled to correct these unsubstantiated statements, misconceptions, lies being communicated to His Excellency The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Comrade R G Mugabe, and the general public.
Alleged Treasonous Conduct:
As a law abiding citizen of Zimbabwe, I abhor the very notion that an elected President or Government of the day can be removed from office through wrongful or unlawful means.
The allegations that I, alone, or (together with various distinguished Comrades) have sought to or attempted to remove His Excellency R G Mugabe from office are ridiculous.
Earlier this year, in Chinhoyi, I had occasion to state publicly that the Zanu PF Party had been infiltrated by a group of persons with nefarious intent, whose objective is to destroy the Party from within. As a result of my objections to this agenda, I have become the fly in a web of lies whose final objective is the destruction of Zanu PF and what it stands for and ultimately the present Government of H.E R G Mugabe.
A vociferous attempt has been made to portray me as “a traitor”, “murderer ” and “sell out”, yet not a single iota of evidence has been produced to give credence to the allegations.
Alleged practice of “witchcraft”:
Were it not that the allegations of the practice of “witch craft “have been made in relation to a very serious matter, I would not have been concerned. Suffice to say that I am and have always been a God-fearing person and would not and have not resorted to witchraft to advance my political career. Support comes from the people,  it cannot be divined under cover of darkness.
Association with the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe:
I was invited to be Patron of the ApostolicChristian Council of Zimbabwe, which represents at least 700 apostolic Christian churches in Zimbabwe, as long ago as January 2011. This was with the full consent and blessing of His Excellency. I have since then, with the full knowledge of the Head of State, attended numerous church gatherings, as Patron and also as Vice President. There has never been any clandestine or unlawful gatherings that I have been a part off.
Alleged incompetence and ineptitude
In my position of Vice President , I had numerous responsibilities including mid-last year, the duty to campaign (amongst others) for the Party in the national elections. I personally held and attended 43 campaign rallies all over Zimbabwe in a three week period, often at great personal expense, and happily losing 4kgs in that period! The result of the 2013 elections has been recorded in history, and I believe I played my part in the outcome.
Having been Vice President for the past 10 years, I am perplexed that allegations of ineptitude only arose a few weeks before Congress.
The position of women in Zimbabwean Society
I believe that I have advanced national causes as Vice President, and especially issues that affect the family, women, youth and children – successfully. We the women of Zimbabwe are legally, and constitutionally – equal citizens to men, we should not be derided or treated as second class citizens in our society which is supposed to be modern and progressive.
Threats against my life and person
Towards the 6th Zanu PF Congress, the forces at work in the Party realized that I was not and would not resign any of my public or party positions on flimsy or contrived grounds. Therefore, their strategy moved from being one of persistent denigration and defamation in the national state media and newspapers, to one of direct threats against my person and life.
My agents were wrongfully and unlawfully prevented from submitting my nomination papers for the Congress and subsequently the state media and newspapers advised me that my life and person was at risk if I attended the Congress. In the interests of public order, and given that this unprecedented “screening”of delegates was unchallenged by the Party Leadership, I decided to stay away from the inevitable public humiliation as was meted out to other unfortunate members of the Party . I made my fears known to the Party Leadership. It was important to maintain the dignity of the office of the Vice President even in the face of such unwarranted violence by a section the party membership.
Simplicity- thy name is Teurai
Fellow Zimbabweans, I regret that I must accept, one of the allegations. I am a simple village girl from Dotito. I went to join the liberation war at the age of 18 years and when I first became a cabinet minister in 1980 I could hardly speak, read or write English! Through encouragement from His Excellency, I went to night school and over the years have systematically and diligently improved myself academically (just as many of you have done over the years) culminating in the recent doctorate degree from the University of Zimbabwe.
There are a few practical truths that I must share, which I appreciate all the time.
Zimbabweans are crying out for solutions to the simple problems we have:

  • how to put food on the table, how to obtain healthcare,
  • sending our children to school
  • providing transport for them and restoring the transport infrastructure,
  • keeping our cities clean,
  • and restoring electricity to all urban households together with clean running water.
  • It is these simple problems that I have dedicated my life and career to and will continue to pursue.

Criminal Allegations
I maintain that I am, and remain, a law-abiding citizen who has not been involved in any criminal activity. The reported accusations of criminal conduct are based on the alleged actions of third parties who the state media has tenuously linked to me out of desperation. This approach can only be explained as a well-orchestrated smear campaign, and gross abuse of state apparatus and resources.
Alleged Abuse of Office
As I stated before, I have always utilized my office to faithfully assist His Excellency President R. G Mugabe in driving the social and economic programmes of his Government to successful fruition. At no point have I ever been motivated by self-interest when discharging my public duties.
Alleged Assassination of the President
The most repugnant allegation made recently has been that I sought to assassinate the President. My loyalty to His Excellency and my country Zimbabwe, is unquestionable. I would never be party to such an action or activity, alone or in a group.
Conclusion
In conclusion my fellow citizens, let it be known that I am loyal to the President and faithful to my Party, and its leader, devoted to its aims, obedient to its cause and resolute in my service to Zimbabwe. God bless you all.

BREAKING NEWS:Grace Mugabe Deletes Mnangagwa from Presidential Roll

  • Mugabe violates constitution to please Grace
  • Mnangagwa pushed out at last minute
  • Only women allowed to control presidium

Zimbabwe’s most powerful woman  Grace Mugabe,  has deleted the name of top presidential candidate Emmerson Mnangagwa in what will likely see the famous blue eyed boy ditched at the 11th hour and miss the door into State House.
Mugabe reportedly refused at the last minute to make presidium and politburo appointments at the congress in line with the stipulated protocol at a time when Mr Mugabe had yet already physically lined up his preferred successor as evidenced by Mnangagwa’s high table seat at the weekend. “Women will rule this country,” said Mrs Mugabe during the days running up to the congress.
Mnangagwa’s team had in the last few months labouriously toiled firing media missiles to disarm the only other rival Joice Mujuru as numerous fake files were compiled just to disgrace and discredit Mujuru. Mnangagwa even went to the point of launching an expensive Gushungo Football Cup which squandered more than $100,000 in Robert Mugabe’s honour hoping to gain the most coveted favour.  But all that work was in vain and Mnangagwa was actually toiling for others,  a top ZANU PF source told this reporter.
Reports at hand revealed on Monday show that if Mugabe goes ahead to appoint Mnangagwa against Grace’s wishes, their bedroom is not going to be a safe place. “Zvinobva zvatooma kana vakadaro,” one of the sources said.
ZimEye can reveal Grace Mugabe has handpicked Senate Supremo Ednar Madzongwe.
It is widely held that the prominent reason why Grace distrusts Mnangagwa is the latter’s bad reputation with women and so she feels she will not be able to control Mnangagwa once her husband dies.
Ednar Madzongwe (pictured) is from Mashonaland West and is said to be a relative of the Mugabe’s who has been close to the Gushungos.

Russia Goes after Grace Mugabe’s Oranges

Russian Ambassador with Trade Delegation
Russian Ambassador with Trade Delegation

Russia has rubbished EU sanctions and resolved to buy citrus and other food products from Zimbabwe to supplement its domestic needs, a move that will boost Grace Mugabe’s Mazoe citrus farm.

Kuda Chideme| A visiting Russian trade delegation has expressed interest in importing agricultural produce from Zimbabwe as the eastern European powerhouse seeks to establish new commodities markets in the wake of Western imposed trade sanctions.
Russia already has local business interests in the mining sector.
Head of the delegation Igo Avakumo told journalists on Monday ahead of a meeting with agriculture minister Joseph Made, that trade sanctions by the European Union and United States had propelled Russia to turn to Latin America, Asia and Africa for agricultural produce.
Before the sanctions , Russia’s food imports from the EU and the US accounted for over $40 million annually.
Avakumo said Russia’s need for citrus fruits would create business opportunity for Zimbabwe.
“Imports of citrus fruits will be of interest to us as we don’t have much of that in our country. We have been producing them in greenhouses but the high energy demand for greenhouses makes it expensive,” Avakumo said.
“We are also proposing to establish a genetic selection centre in Zimbabwe which would supply Russia with high quality seeds particularly vegetables and potatoes.”
Made said in exchange Zimbabwe was also seeking credit loans for local farmers from the eastern European powerhouse.
“We would like to study your credit finance structure that has enabled you to meet your grain requirements. We would like to understand the nature and structure of subsidies because that is where the crux of the matter is in terms of sustaining the farmers,” he said.
In September, the two countries signed several agreements to develop a $3 billion platinum project in Darwendale near Harare.

US Mystery Drone Causes Stir in Victoria Falls

A (US made) DRONE AIRCRAFT fitted with cameras and owned by a tour operator in Victoria Falls has raised the ire of residents and tour operators who fear it is a security risk as its operations are shrouded in mystery.
The drone, known as the quadcopter or quadrotor helicopter, is a multi-rotor craft that is lifted and propelled by four rotors and remote-controlled by a person on the ground.
Residents accuse the operator of spying on them and were no longer free to do their business fearing their images were being captured by the gadget.

To add to the mystery, residents said they had no idea what the videos taken over residential places were being used for.
Reports were that the gadget was also used to fly over the falls, risking accidents, as it could interfere with helicopters from Zimbabwe and Zambia flying over the water falls, a journey known as the Flight of the Angels.
Fears were that the gadget could be used for spying, as it flew over protected areas or poaching, as it could easily be used to spy on wildlife.
Victoria Falls residents’ association chairperson Morgan Gaza Dube said the drone should be stopped from operating until stakeholders agree on its operations.
“It’s really unacceptable for a person to operate such a gadget without telling us what it’s all about,” he said.
“We don’t know the purpose of the filming.
“We feel very insecure because no one has explained to us what it’s all about.
“It’s like walking into someone’s home and filming.”
Dube said authorities should introduce regulations on the use of unmanned aircraft.
“What value is that gadget adding to Victoria Falls?” he asked.
“We feel it should be stopped first and we meet as stakeholders so that we understand its purpose and agree, unlike the current situation where it’s just being flown without our knowledge.”
The owner of the drone could not be reached for comment yesterday. – SouthernEye

Mugabe Still Scared of Emmerson Mnangagwa

successor, GNU, mnangagwawarAs Zimbabweans were left guessing on who is going to be handed the powerful post of First Vice President in the next 72 Hours, details have emerged from ZANU PF’s inner circles that President Robert Mugabe is bone-scared that his own blue eyed boy Emmerson Mnangagwa will soon turn against his family following his death.

Senior sources in the just dissolved Politburo told this reporter the veteran leader could not go ahead to appoint politburo members and senior secretaries of the Presidium on Saturday due to the heavy crisis of decisions he has been caught up with.

“We all know Comrade Mnangagwa boasts of being his right hand man since the war but do you realise Mugabe has never raised Mnangagwa beyond the level of Minister since 1980? We shall see what he decides at the end but I have told what we all know hakurarwi vhiki rino (there will be no sleep this week”, said one of the sources.
“Why do you think vaMugabe in 2004 pushed Ngwena aside putting Mujuru into place?,” another source said.

Meanwhile there was wide speculation Monday amid wild rumours that Mugabe’s choice is going to end up being Ednar Madzongwe seconded by Simon Khaya Moyo with National Chairman as Jacob Mudenda, and Mnangagwa taking Didymus Mutasa’s job Secretary for Administration. The Secretary for Commissariat would be Oppah Muchinguri according to the fiery rumours.
Political Analyst and Journalist, Methuseli Moyo has voiced saying Mugabe Saturday left people guessing, although for him, the surprise would be if Mugabe did not pick Mnangagwa.
“I think he really needs more time to think seriously,” he said.
“Technically there are two vacancies after the removal of Joice Mujuru, it means that he can choose anyone at his own pleasure.
“The only surprise he can make is not to appoint Emmerson Mnangagwa as one of the vice-presidents.”
After getting the carte blanche to pick his deputies and party chairperson, Mugabe has three vacancies to fill, which could be an indicator on who his preferred successor is.
To add to speculation, at the high table, Mugabe sat with Moyo, House of Assembly Speaker Jacob Mudenda and his Senate counterpart Edna Madzongwe, raising conjecture that those could be his picks to fill in the vacant posts.

Political analyst Qhubani Moyo said he was not expecting any surprises when Mugabe chooses his lieutenants.
“I think there’s a clear indication that he wants to apply his mind in terms of who he’s going to appoint,” he said. “To me it’s not logical that a person who has just been elected immediately jumps to appoint his lieutenants without scrutinising them.”
However, at previous congresses, Mugabe has immediately announced the politburo line-ups, but Moyo advised patience.
“The wait is not long,” he said.
“It’s only four days and I think we need to be patient.”  SouthernEye/ZimEye

Outrage as ZRP Cop Beats Up Football Referee

The curtain came down on the Eastern Region Division 1 on a rather bad note as a ZRP cop who is a Masvingo FC player only identified as Dadzani decided to employ his hands in the field of play against the referee as result injuring him in the chest on Sunday at Mucheke stadium where they were hosted by Masvingo United (Una Una).
What started as a good family day for Masvingo soccer enthusiasts degenerated into a horror movie when Dadzani who had earned a red card just after half time when he lunged his studs into Josiah Chekacheke’s left leg leaving the referee with no option except to give a red card to the player who had already earned himself a yellow card for rough play.
The red card did not go down well with Dadzani as he charged towards referee Zebediah Chitiga hailing unprintable words and plunging into him at the chest so hard creating a bloody bruise. Cowing down to the intimidation, the referee was seen altering his decision: At first the referee granted Una Una a penalty but changed his mind after the confrontation by Dadzani to a free kick.
Dadzani’s behaviour was roundly condemned by soccer fans who had come to watch the derby which was expected to be a thriller as both teams are in the top half of the log.
“This behaviour is unacceptable in this day and age, the referee was clearly intimidated into changing his decision from a penalty to a free kick, it is unprofessional at all” said Una Una gaffer Joannies Nhumwa
Chitiga had no kind words for Dadzani, “I am shocked by this behaviour worse still coming from a police team who are supposed to be the custodians of discipline.”
The ZRP coach only identified as Chishiri refused to talk to the media and referred all questions to the ZRP spokesperson.
“We are yet to receive a report of the match, more so it is not our responsibility to discipline soccer players we leave it to ZIFA as the administrators of the game,” said Masvingo acting spokesperson assistant inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa.
“I am yet to receive the report from the match commissioner for me to be able to comment,” said the ZIFA eastern region manager, Tadius Machawira when approached for a comment.
The match ended 1-1. -Mirror

ZANU PF Delegates Left Stranded in Harare After Congress

Delegates to the Zanu (PF) Sixth National People’s conference left today for their respective destinations but as has become the norm after huge party events, some activists were stranded as they failed to find transport.
When The Zimbabwean visited the venue of the congress, frustrated party activists could be seen milling around waiting in vain for transport to take them home.
One of the activists blamed lack of proper coordination as being behind the chaos that saw people waiting for long hours since the early hours of the morning.
“We were told that transport would come to pick us at six in the morning but up to now, we are still waiting and there has not been any communication as to how we are going to be transported from here,” said a Mutare delegate who identified himself as Samuel Garidzwa.
Other delegates said they were left behind as they had been told buses would come to pick them later in the day yet their fellow delegates were picked early morning.
“When we came to enquire on the transport arrangements, we were told that buses that were supposed to ferry us had already gone and we have been told that other buses are being arranged so we will just wait,” said another delegate from Kwekwe who identified herself as Hazel Chara.
Some of the delegates complained of hunger due to the fact that since people were leaving, efforts were being focused more on transport issues.
“Some of us last had a meal last night and the problem now is that issues of food are no longer being given attention to yet we need to eat,” said Givemore Muredzo from Mutoko.
At the congress venue, workers could be seen pulling down tents while security maintained a heavy presence. – TheZimbabwean

Supreme Court Upholds REMO Suspensions, Dealer Motsi Gets Reprieve

court_judge_hammerThe Supreme Court has upheld the suspension of stock-broking firm, Remo but reduced its suspension by six months from the initial five years, court papers have shown.
The firm’s managing director Mohamed Mahmed, who also had his securities dealers’ license cancelled by the Securities Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ) however had his appeal dismissed while Rezana Ebrahim, the firm’s compliance officer and John Motsi, a registered securities dealer had their sentences suspended.
SECZ cancelled Remo’s broker’s license, suspended Mahmed, Ebrahim and Motsi in 2012 after Remo failed to recover shares it had pledged as security after borrowing close to $2 million from Interfin Securities.
Remo then sought the intervention of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange to pressure Interfin to return the shares, which prompted an investigation into the issue.
Proctor and Associates, which was tasked by SECZ to carry out the investigation, established that Remo did not record shares that were in question in the nominees register as required by the Securities Act.
Investigators also said Remo Investments engaged in non-permissible activities in the money market, leading to its suspension.
The Administrative Court in 2012 upheld the decision and Remo, Mahmed, Ebrahim and Motsi launched a joint appeal against the judgment to the Supreme Court.
“The appeal succeeds in part to the extent that the sanction imposed on REMO is reduced and, in respect of Ebrahim and Motsi, is set aside entirely. I find no justification for the actions of the Commission against Ebrahim and Motsi,” read part of the judgment delivered by the Supreme Court bench made up of justices Garwe, Gowora and Patel.
“The appeal by the first applicant (REMO) is allowed to the extent that the conviction on a charge of contravening section 50(1) of the Act is set aside and consequent thereto, the period of cancelation is reduced to four years and six months.”

BREAKING NEWS: Didymus Mutasa Now Fully Recovered, Flies Away to India

ZANU PF’s outgoing Secretary for Administration Didymus Mutasa has recovered and exited a South African Hospital, and is now skating over and across the Indian oceans to Asia.
Mr Mutasa emphatically told ZimEye in an exclusive interview he is now well and is today Monday flying out of Africa to India.
“Ndikati zvakanaka,” he said.
Despite his healing, he added that he is flying his wife (who needs crucial attention) to India.
“Tirikuenda navo kuIndia mangwana(today),” he said.
Mr Mutasa was at the just ended ZANU PF Congress mocked by party leader Robert Mugabe who announcing his hospitalisation said he had before he fell ill, been consulting witch doctors to see Mugabe’s downfall. Mugabe claimed that Mutasa was part of people who consulted n’angas and prophets seeking assistance that would see them taking over the leadership of the party.
“They would ask, when will Mugabe die? so that they take over,” said President Mugabe.

Kaukonde Escapes, Flees to South Africa

Former Zanu-PF Mashonaland East provincial chair Ray Kaukonde has fled to South Africa after being linked to a plot to topple President Mugabe and replace him with Vice-President Joice Mujuru.President Mugabe yesterday revealed: “We hear Kaukonde is now in South Africa. That is why he is not here.”
Kaukonde is believed to be the main financier of the Mujuru faction. His centrality to the plot to unseat President Mugabe was first publicly revealed by First Lady and Zanu-PF Women’s League boss Grace Mugabe, who also accused him of prodding former Politburo member Dr Simba Makoni to rebel and form an opposition party.
He — together with VP Mujuru and former secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa — did not attend the 6th Zanu-PF Congress that ended in Harare.
Mugabe has refused to accept results of Mash East central committee elections saying it contained people linked to Kaukonde. Some Mashonaland East delegates were heard whispering that Sydney Sekeramayi and Simbaneuta Mudarikwa were among the “bad apples that spoiled the basket”.
A larger group went on to denounce those presented to the President. President Mugabe said: “You are the only province that has raised this concern. But these are the people you gave us. We now hear that tadzorera vanhu vaKaukonde.
“If you say they did not come from you, who then elected them? We will do as you wish by making sure new elections are held. We will send representatives to assist you in this matter.”
Mujuru had toyed with the idea of showing up at the National Heroes Acre where former ambassador, Kotsho Dube was buried. But in the end she chickened out. –  ZBC

PICTURE Of Zim Boy Killed in Scotland UK

One ex-church member has narrated the family’s ordeal saying : “this is very serious, can you believe this couple was happily married before they started going to Agape. It was the husband’s brother Joseph Chiriseri who introduced the couple to Pastor Walter Masocha and in no time the marriage collapsed”, one of my close sources told me yesterday. Tichakunda Chiriseri, under the guidance and instruction of Walter Masocha left his young wife Farai after he was told she was demon possessed and committed himself fully to Agape Church. It makes me sick and angry, because the exact same thing happened to me. Chiriseri was then arranged Attache Caroline Chiwara by Walter Masocha. He would drive to church conferences with Caroline Chiwara, leaving Farai at home alone with the children. This must have drove the poor mother to this drastic measures knowing her husband had been given another woman by Walter Masocha.”

Govt Selling Billy Rautenbach’s Urine, Court Ruling

The Zimbabwean Government is violating the constitution by forcing Zim motorists to buy ZANU PF businessman Billy Rautenbach’s “urine” (as it is now infamously referred as), ethanol blended fuel, the Constitutional Court is expected to rule.
The Constitutional Court is preparing to decide on the thorny case presented by top barrister Tendai Biti representing his client Mr Tabani Mpofu, who contests on the constitutionality of mandatory petrol blending in its entirety.
While the Jonathan Moyo media claimed that Mr Biti is fightin on the constitutionality of mandatory petrol blending to levels beyond E10, the truth and facts on the case are that the lawsuit is in fact about mandatory petrol blending in its entirety.
Prof Moyo’s journalists last month further claimed saying that “the Constitutional Court has no jurisdiction to determine issues pertaining to the blending of fuel because that decision must be made by the Executive,” an argument spoon-fed by Green Fuel Advocate Adrian De Bourbon.
Adv De Bourbon said the courts should leave issues to do with the blending ratios to the Executive and that the court should not be called upon to make such Executive decisions. He urged the court to dismiss the blending challenge on the basis that it was not properly before the court.
State Media journos claim that Mr Mpofu did not establish any breach of the fundamental rights as enshrined in the Bill of Rights and that his application was wrongly before the court.
But Mr Tendai Biti argues that the constitutional rights of Mr Tabani and subsequently other Zimbabweans have been breached by forcing people to buy the fuel which is incompatible with numerous vehicles.
ZimEye caught up with Mr Biti soon after the court hearing last month and he voiced confidence that he will win the case. “We are very confident.Yes the judge was very sympathetic and the judgement was reserved, but I haven’t read the Herald,” he said.
Biti reiterated his legal argument now twisted by the Herald newspaper which claimed that he is fighting Green Fuel on the basis of mandatory blending of levels beyond the E10 class.
“That’s not the argument,” said Biti.
He continued, “the argument is on choice.
“When it’s there people must be able to buy it and import it from anywhere, with hydrocarbon, fellow companies import form Kuwait, from Saudi Arabia, from Venezuela, from Angola, from Nigeria, any country with oil. Why is it that with unhydronous ethanol, we are being forced to buy locally where the production costs are very high? You have got countries like Brazil and America, the two largest producers of ethanol fuel who are [selling it a far much lower prices] (sic). Here we are buying it at 140cents a litre. So then this is a Rautenbach law because of ZANU PF corruption,” said Biti.
“Our argument is that it is unconstitutional to force people to consume one product. People should have a right to choose,” he said.
Biti further added that the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority does not have powers to regulate ethanol, which is an agricultural product.
He said the Petroleum Act could not be used to regulate ethanol, hence the regulations for the blending of fuel with ethanol were not in sync with the parent Act.
Mr Biti said motorists were denied the right to choose the fuel type they want through the Statutory Instruments on mandatory blending.
On behalf of zera, Mr Raphael Tsivama said there was no breach of the Constitution and that the regulations were not divorced from the Petroleum Act.
He said petrol remained a petroleum product despite the fact that it would have been mixed with ethanol and that there was no discrimination as all people were subjected to the same regulations of mandatory blending.
Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku, sitting with eight other judges, reserved judgement after hearing the arguments.
In the application, Mr Mpofu cited, zera, Energy and Power Development Minister Dzikamai Mavhaire and GreenFuel as respondents.
Government introduced mandatory blending ratios of E15 on November 30 2013 and wanted the ratios increased to E20 by March this year.
But Mr Mpofu took ZERA, Minister Mavhaire and Green Fuel to court over the issue. He filed the application at the Constitutional Court last December challenging Green Fuel’s monopoly and blending ratios. Mr Mpofu argued that the monopoly and blending ratios did not guarantee fair competition and were not in the interest of motorists.
The blending started with five percent ethanol and 95 percent unleaded petrol on August 15, following the issuance of an ethanol production (mandatory blending) licence to Green Fuel on August 5.

Meanwhile outside the court case, other controversies have been to do with vital environmental assessment studies which were never performed before commencing the project and recently environentalists have fired a warning that Rautenbach is poisoning rivers and destroying the ecosystem through the ethanol production.  READ MORE Rautenbach responsible for water poisoning, & shooting of villagers’ cattle

New Vice President of Zimbabwe Taking Mujuru’s Job Is……

Zimbabwe’s new Vice President taking over outgoing VP Joice Mujuru is being announced within the next 90 Hours as Robert Mugabe appoints a new Zanu-PF Politburo that will not feature several heavyweights who according to the ZANU PF media “have relegated themselves to political oblivion by seeking the First Secretary’s ouster.”
Mugabe yesterday(Saturday) said he is announcing his cream-choices by Wednesday. In the mean time, the cornered Joice Mujuru remains Vice President even though she is now out of the party’s top leadership.

STATE MEDIA REPORT:
The changes could be a precursor to a Cabinet shake-up that will reflect the fall-out from the attempt to push out – and possibly assassinate – the President just a year after he resoundingly won a national five-year mandate to lead the nation.
Major casualties in both the party and State executives are likely to be Vice-President Joice Mujuru, Presidential Affairs Minister Didymus Mutasa; his Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare counterpart Nicholas Goche; ICT Minister Webster Shamu and several others.
Ministers Francis Nhema, Olivia Muchena, Dzikamai Mavhaire, Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, Flora Bhuka and Simbaneuta Mudarikwa, Tendai Savanhu too, face uncertain futures.
Senior Government officials, such as permanent secretaries and directors, who were implicated in the faction-related mess could also be put out to grass. The President – who was unanimously re-elected by zanu-PF’s 6th National People’s Congress yesterday — said he needed a little more time to weigh who in the new Central Committee was fit for the Politburo.
Newly-empowered by constitutional amendments that allow him to appoint all Politburo members so as to ensure there is only one centre of power in the ruling party, President Mugabe said he would unveil his core team this week.
Section 40 of Zanu-PF’s amended constitution empowers the First Secretary and President to — during the sitting of Congress — appoint Politburo members from the newly-elected Central Committee.
Outgoing secretary for legal affairs Cde Emerson Mnangagwa said President Mugabe was within his constitutional rights to make his appointments later this week.
He said Section 37 of Zanu-PF’s constitution (Powers and Functions of the Central Committee) allowed the President to announce a new Politburo when the Central Committee met as it is the highest organ of the party in between congresses and acts on behalf of congress when it is not in session.
“That is the provision we have used,” said Cde Mnangagwa. “In terms of the Unity Agreement, it gives the President the power to appoint the two Vice-Presidents. Only today did we have the election of the Central Committee this afternoon.
“It is from the Central Committee membership that the President must now select a team for the two Vice Presidents, national chairperson and heads of department who will constitute the Politburo. So, he needs time to go through the names and select a team for that purpose.
“He is doing so under the provision that when Congress is not sitting, the Central Committee takes that responsibility. So Central Committee will meet on Wednesday or Thursday next week. That is when he is going to announce to the Central Committee what he has not announced here because the constitution so provides.”
With the President understood to be keen to ensure his Politburo dovetails seamlessly with State functions, sources say any changes to the party team will reflect on the Cabinet.
The sources, however, were hesitant to say when the Cabinet reshuffle was likely.
The President yesterday said: “We will set up the Politburo (this) week.
“Hatingambozviiti mawuro ano. Mazita acho handisati ndamboona kuti province iyi yatipa vanhu vakadii, ndavanani vatingatore kuisa muPolitburo. So, I don’t want to rush it. So, be patient.
“But mid-next week, by Wednesday or Thursday, we will make an announcement. We will let you know because we cannot go far . . . We will have to choose the two Vice-Presidents, the chairman and secretary veSecretariat; basa ranga richiitwa naVaMutasa . . .
“But we will do a reshuffle. There will disappointment, but we will try to be as objective as possible and we will try to avoid zvemafactions and vamwe vakanga vachishanda mumafactions.”
Expectations were high yesterday that President Mugabe would name his two deputies and the party National Chair, but as indicated by The Sunday Mail last week, he chose to take his time and not succumb to populist pressures.
Senior officials linked with the top jobs after the Presidency are those of Home Affairs Minister Kembo Mohadi, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo, Ambassador Phelekezela Mphoko, National Assembly Speaker Cde Jacob Mudenda and Senate President Edna Madzongwe.
Some senior Zanu-PF members who had been frozen out due to factionalism — such as Cdes July Moyo (Midlands) and Mike Madiro (Manicaland) — bounced back into the Central Committee yesterday.
President Mugabe also appointed Cdes Supa Mandiwanzira, Pupurai Togarepi, Walter Mzembi, Aguy Georgias, Mudhomeni Chivere, Absolom Sikhosana, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, Josephine Gandiya, Sikhanyiso Ndlovu and Charles Tawenga into the Central Commitee under the quota of Presidential appointees. sunday mail

Mzembi Attacks Chinamasa

Walter Mzembi, the Zimbabwe Minister of Tourism was left with no option

Walter Mzembi - Tourism Minister
Walter Mzembi – Tourism Minister

but to publicly register his anger through Twitter after Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa left out the Tourism sector during his state of the economy presentation at the Zanu PF congress on Friday.
Chinamasa, who presented his state of the economy report to more than 12 000 delegates at the Robert Mugabe Square, touched on mining, manufacturing and other industries, but deliberately ignored tourism.
“State of the economy: Not a single mention of tourism by Chinamasa. Tragic to ignore a sector – 10 percent of GDP, $1 billion turn over, twelfth employer, eish,” read Mzembi’s tweet on Twitter after Chinamasa’s presentation.
Though it could not be established whether Chinamasa skipped Mzembi’s tourism sector deliberately or not, observers said the move could be a reflection of factionalism in Zanu PF and the side-lining of those ministers reportedly aligned to under-fire Vice-President Joice Mujuru.
This also emerged as ministers and loyalists of the Mujuru camp were left out in the cold and subjected to humiliation at the Congress where they have been isolated. Friday reports were that Kwekwe Central MP Masango Matambanadzo had to run to save himself from youths who were baying for his blood for his perceived allegiance to Mujuru.
Matambanadzo had reportedly tried to sneak into the venue without proper accreditation. Although he was not immediately available for comment, Midlands Zanu PF spokesperson Cornelius Mpereri confirmed the incident. “Security had to follow him inside. He had to run for dear life after he had come with two people he claimed were his bodyguards(sic),” Mpereri said.
