In a significant development, special presidential advisor Dr. Paul Tungwarara declared that the era of hardship for war veterans was over, emphasizing a new era of economic empowerment.

Speaking at the launch of the Mashonaland West Presidential War Veterans Fund, the Presidential War Veterans Borehole Drilling Program, and the Presidential War Veterans Rural Housing Scheme in Zvimba North, Mahiya on Tuesday, Dr. Tungwarara boldly stated, “Now is the time for economic emancipation.

War veterans, I am with you. The time of being a laughing stock is over.”

In line with this vision, Douglas Mahiya, the ZANU PF Secretary for War Veterans League, shared additional initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of former freedom fighters. One of the key developments includes the creation of the War Veteran Family Wealth Trust.

In a surprising turn of events, Roseline Ndaizivei Tawengwa, wife of war veteran and Zanu PF central committee member Blessed Geza, has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Republic Police, according to Crime Watch Zimbabwe.

CID detectives from Harare, led by Maziti, took Tawengwa from their Norton residence, as confirmed by her lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa.

Blessed Geza, who has been vocal in his opposition to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s third-term ambitions, has publicly criticized the president for allegedly protecting looters and thieves. Geza has also demanded that Mnangagwa step down from office.

This development, coupled with a statement from Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe confirming that police roadblocks would remain in place, has intensified coup fears among Zimbabweans. 

Many recall similar circumstances preceding the 2017 coup that ousted long-time ruler Robert Mugabe.

In a statement, Kazembe, like the Army officials who defended the presence of tanks, justified the decision to continue with police roadblocks and patrols. 

He cited public safety concerns and the necessity of maintaining law and order on the roads:

“Our people complain when police presence increases, and they complain when it is reduced. We have resolved to let the law guide us. The police will enforce regulations firmly, whether people complain or not.”

Kazembe also emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing an electronic traffic management system to enhance law enforcement efficiency:

“Technology doesn’t discriminate – it does not care about your face, relationship, or status. It ensures fairness and holds everyone accountable. By the end of this year, we will have this solution in place, and it will end the chaos on our roads.”

He further urged drivers to adhere to traffic laws and called on the public to cooperate with the police to uphold safety standards. 

Kazembe warned that reckless drivers and lawbreakers would face severe penalties as part of broader efforts to restore order.

War veteran and ZANU-PF Central Committee member Blessing Geza has publicly threatened to expose plans by war veterans to remove President Emmerson Mnangagwa from power.

Reports suggest that a faction within the military, aligned with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, is growingincreasingly dissatisfied with Mnangagwa’s leadership.

“The Lord has spoken, and I must pray for Zimbabwe. I saw another coup—one that will bring chaos and bloodshed. This will not be like before; this time, there will be much suffering, and many lives will be lost.”

Another prominent prophet, Ian Ndlovu, has also issued a chilling prophecy of impending military unrest, cautioning that the country’s deepening power struggle could spiral out of control.

The current political climate bears striking similarities to the events leading up to the November 2017 coup, when the military intervened to remove Mugabe after decades in power. 

The coup was orchestrated by then-Vice President Mnangagwa and top military officials, including Chiwenga, who later became Vice President.

Killer Zivhu, a notable and unpredictable member of Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party, has boldly declared that the party will continue to govern the country for the next 100 years.

Zivhu made this assertion in an effort to downplay the ongoing infighting within the party, which has recently seen divisions over President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 2030 agenda and the question of succession.

In a statement released yesterday, Zivhu dismissed concerns over the internal rifts, stating, “Zimbabweans are easily drawn to anything against ZANU.

My advice to ZANU youth is to leverage this attraction for financial gain! Develop products with branding like GEZA and profit from it.”

The reference to “GEZA” is seen as a nod to the political and social dynamics that often surround the ruling party, suggesting that such issues can be turned into opportunities rather than obstacles.

Zivhu’s statement reflects his belief in the enduring power of Zanu PF, despite the ongoing power struggles within the party.

By Munacho Gwamanda-The troubled and fractured Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), now led by Welshman Ncube, has expelled its self-imposed secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu, marking another chapter in the party’s prolonged internal strife.

Ncube announced Tshabangu’s expulsion after he was found guilty of various charges, including undermining party leadership and unilaterally making decisions without proper authority. 

The move is the culmination of a long-standing feud between the two, which has played out both in the courts and in the political arena.

Tshabangu has long been a divisive figure in opposition politics. 

Initially, he was instrumental in efforts by Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti to frustrate Nelson Chamisa’s leadership after the 2018 elections, contributing to the fragmentation of the opposition. 

More recently, he has been accused of working with Zanu PF to dismantle the original CCC through mass recalls of elected representatives, a move widely seen as an attempt to weaken the opposition ahead of future elections.

Last week, Tshabangu appeared before a disciplinary hearing under protest, facing four counts of misconduct. 

According to a statement issued by Welshman’s CCC faction’s spokesperson Wilias Madzimure, the charges stemmed from Tshabangu’s unilateral restructuring of the party’s parliamentary leadership in November and December 2024.

“In or about November 2024 and December 2024, you made or purported to make changes of CCC parliamentary portfolio holders without the authority of the president or any organ of the party, that is CCC,” Madzimure stated.

“Having found Sengezo Tshabangu guilty of all the charges and having regard to the gravity of the acts of misconduct for which the committee convicted him, the committee decided to sentence him to expulsion from the party with immediate effect.”

The expulsion underscores the deep-seated divisions within CCC, which have intensified since the abrupt resignation of Nelson Chamisa as party leader in January. 

Chamisa’s departure was largely triggered by Tshabangu’s relentless recalls of dozens of CCC legislators and councillors, a move widely believed to have been orchestrated with the backing of Zanu PF. 

Ironically, Ncube himself rose to party leadership through Tshabangu’s machinations, but their alliance has since deteriorated into open hostility.

Responding to the expulsion, Tshabangu’s spokesperson, Nqobizitha Mlilo, dismissed Ncube’s move as baseless and procedurally flawed.

“This is a rather strange process,” Mlilo said. “Any disciplinary hearing, in circumstances where a charged party is found guilty, must follow due process. The disciplinary committee must render a reasoned judgment based on facts and legal principles. The accused must also be given an opportunity to make submissions in mitigation, while the prosecution presents aggravating factors before sentencing.”

He scoffed at Madzimure’s statement, calling it “not worth a yawn.”

“Senator Tshabangu has better things to do with his time than to play marbles with argumentative busybodies,” Mlilo said.

Tshabangu’s expulsion is unlikely to bring stability to the already fractured CCC, which remains deeply divided over leadership, strategy, and its future direction.

With both factions accusing each other of betrayal, the opposition movement risks further fragmentation, playing directly into the hands of Zanu PF.

At the centre of the storm is the Town Clerk Hosiah Chisango who pockets a staggering $30,000 monthly salary, plus an array of lavish allowances that have since been revealed to this publication.

The Mayor, Jacob Mafume has of late been under fire for attempting to uncover the executive salaries, his efforts have been thwarted by the powerful Deputy Town Clerk Matthew Marara and Acting Human Capital Manager Bosman Matengarufu who are also beneficiaries of the bloated secret payroll. The little Mafume managed to uncover was the shocking $30,000 monthly salary and the executive’s $1 million splurge on vehicles that could have turned the Capital into a world class city had it been channeled towards service delivery.

Investigations by this publication have established that Chisango also gets the following, a holiday allowance of $19,000, entertainment allowance, clothing allowance, and even school fees for his children. Other directors are also raking in slightly lower allowances while employees struggle to make ends meet as they earn a mere $112 Nostro and 6000 ZiG which is currently unpaid.

There are calls for the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC )to vet the Town Clerk’s nostro accounts in order to reveal a web of deceit and corruption “that will shock the nation”. “We’re sitting on a powder keg, and it’s only a matter of time before ZACC discovers how much is in their accounts and all it blows up,I tell you, if employees from Grade 7 to 16 who by-the -way haven’t received their January salaries see what Matengarufu is hiding from the Mayor, I tell you, they will come and riot here at Town House without even consulting unions ,” warned a senior council staffer.

The situation in Harare is already dire, with no diesel for service delivery , no water, blockages are common, no drugs, and solid waste is everywhere while employees are now absenteeing from work due to transport costs. Channeling Chisango’s one month’s salary towards council’s coffers would be enough to pay all employees’ salaries in full and solve nearly half of the residents’ problems. “It’s time for us to take a stand and demand accountability, we are not slaves,” said the staffer. “We can’t let them continue to loot and pillage while we suffer, the Commission of Inquiry is trying but ZACC must act now, or risk being complicit in council’s corruption and when we get to that stage, protests and demonstrations are inevitable because the Mayor can’t fight this battle alone, the executive is too powerful and willing to bribe or kill in order to keep milking Councill of millions at the expense of the employees and residents”.

Persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe are advocating for increased inclusivity in the design and construction of public spaces, citing significant obstacles in accessing buildings due to a lack of essential accessibility features.

In Harare, navigating the city can be a challenging experience for individuals with disabilities, as many buildings fail to accommodate their needs, limiting their ability to move freely and independently.

Several individuals shared their personal experiences with ZBC News, stressing the urgent need for better accessibility in public infrastructure. One individual noted, “Some of the buildings are not accessible. There still is a need to do more. We need facilities to put up ramps for us, brailles, and side handles for assistance. Moving about the CBD is quite challenging at the moment. You just end up having to get used to these places, otherwise they are not accessible.”

Additionally, challenges extend beyond just basic building access. “Sometimes we want to buy our daily necessities from shops in the CBD, but the stores are not accessible. We are facing similar difficulties in entertainment and sports industries. We cannot access the facilities there. We need the government to assist us,” another person with disabilities explained.

Supporting this call for change is Mrs. Joyce Matara, acting executive director of the National Association of Societies for the Care of the Handicapped. She advocates for more accessibility in building design, sharing that the organization has begun an initiative to inspect buildings for accessibility. “We assist and point out what is lacking. We came up with guidelines and checklists, and we are currently doing this for free in Harare. There is a need for people to understand that accessibility goes beyond ramps and lifts. Buildings must be properly designed to ensure they are usable. Most buildings today are not accessible for persons with disabilities, yet they are a part of our society,” Matara said.

The call for disability-friendly buildings aligns with the National Disability Policy of 2021, which mandates that all public facilities and buildings be accessible to persons with disabilities.

Police Raids in Bulawayo Uncover Drug Ring Involving Minors and Adults

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe — Separate crackdowns by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) in Bulawayo’s western suburbs and the city centre have led to the arrest of several suspects, including minors, in connection with dangerous drugs and substances.

The raids, conducted in Entumbane, Njube, and the central business district, resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of Broncleer cough syrup, marijuana, and crystal meth. Shockingly, those arrested included a 12-year-old Grade Seven girl, a 14-year-old Form Two boy, and an 18-year-old Form Three female, highlighting the growing crisis of drug abuse among schoolchildren.

Disturbing Details Emerge

One of the arrested individuals, a security guard and a resident of Entumbane, was allegedly hosting drug initiation parties for children as young as 12 years old. During the raids, police discovered schoolchildren, school dropouts, and adults engaging in illegal activities at his residence.

Among the suspects is Elliot Ndlovu (24), who had reportedly intimidated Entumbane residents by claiming he was “untouchable” by the police. Bulawayo provincial acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, dismissed Ndlovu’s claims, stating, “There is no one above the law.”

Arrested Suspects and Seized Drugs

The police paraded the arrested suspects and confiscated drugs at the Bulawayo Central Police Station. The arrested suspects include:
• Ashley Richardson (22) from Njube
• Thomas Phiri (19) from Entumbane
• Ronald Ncube (24) from Emganwini
• Ntuntuko Masuku (20) of Entumbane
• Michael Ncube (34), address unknown
• Nikita Mhlanga (36), accused of hosting vuzu parties and selling drugs to schoolchildren

Several juveniles, including a 17-year-old school dropout and a 17-year-old Form Three student, were also detained but later released into the custody of their parents or guardians.

Ongoing Investigations

The crackdown followed a tip-off from vigilant community members and police intelligence. Authorities believe that most drug peddlers in Bulawayo are aged between 19 and 25 years.

Last Friday, police arrested four more suspected drug dealers, including Aubrey Muchenje, Sylvester Moyo, Elton Ndlovu, and Owen Muchenje, after a community tip-off. The arrests led to the recovery of 40 bottles of Broncleer cough syrup, 1 kilogram of marijuana, and sachets of crystal meth.

Court Appearance Scheduled

The suspects, including the alleged drug dealer Nikita Mhlanga, are expected to appear in court on Thursday. Police have assured the public of their commitment to eradicating drug abuse and called for continued community cooperation.

Assistant Inspector Msebele praised the Entumbane and Njube residents for their courage in reporting illegal activities despite threats and intimidation from drug dealers. She emphasized, “As police, we want to assure the public that information supplied to us will be acted upon in confidence.”

In a shocking revelation, a forensic audit dated August 11, 2023, has uncovered significant financial mismanagement within the Harare Municipal Medical Aid Society (HMMAS). The audit report indicates that HMMAS purchased a US$1.4 million property but never took possession of it. Instead, the property was later sold under unclear circumstances, and the municipality did not recover its funds.

The audit exposed multiple anomalies, including overpricing and double payment of a property in Ruwa, resulting in a further US$1.2 million loss. Additionally, properties were acquired without obtaining title deeds, complicating efforts to trace these assets.

The report highlights alarming financial discrepancies, including a former CEO personally collecting subscription payments worth US$246,500, which were never recorded by the cashier. The audit also revealed questionable conveyancing fees of US$300,000—far exceeding standard rates—during the property transactions.

The property in question was initially purchased from Everleigh Services Private Limited through AfrAsia Bank in 2015. Despite the full payment, HMMAS never took ownership, and the property was subsequently sold to Cheetah Express Logistics Private Limited in 2018, resulting in a total loss of US$1.7 million.

Further irregularities include a staggering overpayment of US$550,000 for equipment valued at just US$100,000 during the purchase of Fortress Hospital. The audit exposes significant financial prejudice and raises serious concerns about accountability and governance within HMMAS.

The unfolding scandal has prompted calls for a thorough investigation to hold those responsible accountable and recover the lost funds.

A 61-year-old self-employed man from Upper Rangemore, Bulawayo, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Bulawayo Magistrates Court for the rape of his mentally incapacitated stepdaughter.

The sentence was handed down after the accused was found guilty of the crime which took place on November 21, 2024.

According to the details presented in court, the accused unlawfully had sexual intercourse with his 24-year-old stepdaughter, who is legally incapable of giving consent due to her mental condition.

The incident occurred at the family home at approximately 3:00 PM.

The court heard that the accused, who is the stepfather of the complainant, assaulted her while she was asleep.

He covered her mouth and nose to restrain her, before proceeding with the assault.

The victim, unable to resist due to her mental condition, later disclosed the incident to a family member, leading to investigations.

A 50-year-old married teacher, Nyasha Gambe, from Mutimwi Secondary School in Zaka, died at his alleged girlfriend’s house, it has emerged.

According to police in Zaka, Gambe had contacted his girlfriend, Laina Chimutsa (34), around 10:30 PM, stating his intention to spend the night.
“He called saying he wanted to stay over.”

The lover reportedly told police :
“He started feeling weak and lost control of himself. I was so scared.”

Chimutsa immediately contacted Gambe’s younger brother, who rushed to the scene and helped transport him to Ndanga District Hospital.

Unfortunately, Gambe was pronounced dead on arrival.

The cause of death is still unclear, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe are advocating for increased inclusivity in the design and construction of public spaces, citing significant obstacles in accessing buildings due to a lack of essential accessibility features.

In Harare, navigating the city can be a challenging experience for individuals with disabilities, as many buildings fail to accommodate their needs, limiting their ability to move freely and independently.

Several individuals shared their personal experiences with ZBC News, stressing the urgent need for better accessibility in public infrastructure. One individual noted, “Some of the buildings are not accessible. There still is a need to do more. We need facilities to put up ramps for us, brailles, and side handles for assistance. Moving about the CBD is quite challenging at the moment. You just end up having to get used to these places, otherwise they are not accessible.”

Additionally, challenges extend beyond just basic building access. “Sometimes we want to buy our daily necessities from shops in the CBD, but the stores are not accessible. We are facing similar difficulties in entertainment and sports industries. We cannot access the facilities there. We need the government to assist us,” another person with disabilities explained.

Supporting this call for change is Mrs. Joyce Matara, acting executive director of the National Association of Societies for the Care of the Handicapped. She advocates for more accessibility in building design, sharing that the organization has begun an initiative to inspect buildings for accessibility. “We assist and point out what is lacking. We came up with guidelines and checklists, and we are currently doing this for free in Harare. There is a need for people to understand that accessibility goes beyond ramps and lifts. Buildings must be properly designed to ensure they are usable. Most buildings today are not accessible for persons with disabilities, yet they are a part of our society,” Matara said.

The call for disability-friendly buildings aligns with the National Disability Policy of 2021, which mandates that all public facilities and buildings be accessible to persons with disabilities.

The political imposter Sengezo Tshabangu has been fired from the renegade party he created with the help of outgoing President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) informs its members and the public that Sengezo Tshabangu who appeared before the CCC National Disciplinary Committee on 12 February 2025 was found guilty of all charges that were preferred against him. Tshabangu who attended the hearing in person, was represented by his lawyer Advocate Kucaca Phulu.

Sengezo Tshabangu was charged with violating the CCC Constitution by breaching party rules and regulations. The National Disciplinary Committee found him guilt on the same as follows:

   Contravention of Clause 9.1.2.3, of the Citizens Coalition for Change Constitution RULES AND REGULATIONS in that: you Senator Sengezo Tshabangu being a member of the party (CCC) breached the party’s constitution rules and regulations in that you brazenly defied the authority of the President of CCC, and the National Standing Committee, the National Executive Committee and National Council in that;

a) In or about November 2024 and December 2024 you made or purported to make changes of CCC Parliamentary Portfolio holders without the authority of the President or any organ of the party, that is CCC.

   Contravention of Clause 9.1.2.3 of the Constitution of the CCC party in that In November 2024 and December 2024 you made or purported to make public pronouncements by communicating the changes you had unlawfully made to STATE INSTITUTIONS without first seeking the approval of the President of CCC party or its organs being the National Standing Committee, National Executive Committee, an National Council.

   Bringing the name and reputation of the CCC into disrepute by your aforesaid conduct in Count 1 and 2 above.

Having found Sengezo Tshabangu guilty of all the charges, and having regard to the gravity of the acts of misconduct of which the Committee convicted him, the Committee decided to sentence him to expulsion from the party with immediate effect.

Zanu PF Chief Whip, Pupurai Togarepi, has firmly declared that President Emmerson Mnangagwa will remain in office beyond 2028, despite speculation surrounding his political future.

In an interview with Studio 7 on Tuesday, Togarepi addressed questions about Mnangagwa’s leadership, stating that the president’s tenure is secure and that the people of Zimbabwe, particularly Zanu PF members, support his continued rule.

Togarepi responded directly, “Aiwa ndofunga imi vatori venhau makabvunza munhu asiri iye. Tiri kutora nyaya kumunhu asiri muridzi wenyaya. Muridzi wenyaya imember dzeZanu PF neruzhinji kunze uko vari kuti President taona zvamaita toda kuti murambe muchititungamira.”

In English, Togarepi explained, “No, I think you journalists are asking the wrong person. You are taking the issue to someone who is not the rightful owner of the matter. The rightful owners of this issue are Zanu PF members and the people outside who want the President to continue leading us.”

Togarepi’s comments underline the Zanu PF party’s support for Mnangagwa and suggest that any talk of his departure is not only premature but also disconnected from the wishes of the party and its supporters. This statement comes amidst ongoing political discussions and the general perception of Mnangagwa’s leadership beyond the upcoming 2028 elections.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has arrested three individuals, including a Zanu PF councillor, for allegedly stealing and selling Presidential agricultural inputs.

Chishamiso Linda Ellah, the Councillor for Ward 11 in Makoni District, alongside Enita Choga, a former Grain Marketing Board (GMB) employee, and Crispen Makoni have since appeared Mutare Magistrate, Annie Ndiraya and were remanded out of custody on US$200.00 bail.

They face a charge of theft as defined in Section 113 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9:23.

The trio allegedly conspired to divert 400 bags of 50kg fertiliser worth US$12 000.00 and sold to buyers in Rusape.

The much-anticipated refurbishment of Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo has taken a new turn as Zanu PF heavyweights are determined to seize control of the process.

Sources within the ruling party revealed that the project will only move forward under their leadership, despite Masvingo City Council’s recent announcement of significant progress.

In a statement on Tuesday, Masvingo City Council excitedly shared news of their collaboration with The Heart Group of Companies to refurbish Mucheke Stadium and build a new, state-of-the-art sports facility in the city.

The city’s initiative was framed as part of efforts to enhance the sports sector and provide a platform for local athletes.

However, insiders within Zanu PF have made it clear that they plan to take charge of the project. “We will be taking over the whole process very soon. Remember the stadium is for the community, and our votes come from the people, so we will definitely take charge of the refurbishment of Mucheke Stadium. It’s a Zanu PF project after all,” a senior party official declared.

The statement from Masvingo City Council acknowledged the significance of the project, which is seen as a major step forward for the city’s sports-driven initiatives and investments. “This collaboration will add value to the city and ensure a platform that gives athletes exposure and contributes to Masvingo’s thriving sporting industry,” the Council said.

Despite the city’s enthusiasm for the partnership with The Heart Group, Zanu PF’s intentions suggest the ruling party intends to dominate the refurbishment efforts, positioning themselves at the forefront of the project. The following statement whose official release is due from midnight of 13th Feb 2025, has been confirmed by several members of the command element of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, who have been speaking with the ZimEye news network since January 2023.

The announcement which was first made on 3 February, is now due for official signed distribution today.

The ZDF spokesman Alphios Makotore, contacted by ZimEye over the broad statement, appeared to contradict himself when he said he does not comment on such issues. He asked saying,

“Which officer and on what subject issues?,”

He continued saying, “I don’t comment on such issues since I am no longer in that office. May kindly contact Defence Headquarters.”

The command element’s warning against the arresting of war veterans, has since been violated by ZRP Spokesperson Paul Nyathi, in a development the defence forces indicates today attracts the implementation of constitutional brute force.

Following our last address on November 13, 2017, we clearly stated that the Zimbabwe Defense Forces will uphold the Constitution and will not abandon it to be abused by a few individuals and counter-revolutionary gangsters. The Zimbabwe Defense Forces the main reason it was created is to:
• Protect its people
• its national security interests, and its territorial integrity
• And uphold this Constitution

I would like to refer you to Section 212 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe (Amendment of 2013), number 20. Please it is important to note that the Defences Forces remains a main stakeholder, in respect to the gains of the liberation struggle and when these are threatened, we are obligated to take action.

Warning to President Emmerson Mnangagwa

Firstly I would like to warn the first secretary of ZANU PF, the commander in chief of the defence forces, President Emmerson Mnangagwa that the time of killing former and serving army generals must come to an end now. This must stop forthwith. We are now aware that President Mnangagwa and Owen “Mudha” Ncube were responsible for the deaths of high-ranking army generals since 1980.

And the following souls assassinated by President Mnangagwa rest in peace:

We have taken note that the current administration of President Mnangagwa has abandoned you to suffer. You have fallen into the hands of a kleptocratic rulers who treat the country Treasury as the source of wealth, spending funds on luxury goods and extravagance as they fit, many of these leaders secretly transfer public funds into secret accounts in foreign countries to provide for themselves if removed from power; the majority of you are living in abject poverty with families suffering most. We would like you to prepare to protect the Constitution from dying in the hands of these corrupt ruthless leaders. We call you tonight to take our instructions in the next few days, if our constitution continues to be killed, the majority of you are failing to send their children to school because of poverty by the current administration, this country is rich with more than 62 minerals that can transform Zimbabwe into an upper income country, if selfish leaders are removed.

To the veterans of the liberation struggle; in terms of Section 23 subsection one of the Constitution Of Zimbabwe, amendment number 20 of 2013- the state and all institutions and agents of government at every level must accord due respect and honour and recognition to the veterans of the liberation struggle, that is to say- Part A those who fought in the liberation struggle.

Part B, those who assisted the fighters in the war of liberation struggle- The mujibas and Chimbiwdos,
Part C- those who were imprisoned, detained or restricted for political reasons during the liberation struggle.

Part Two, the state must take responsible measures, including legislative measures for the welfare and economic empowerment of these veterans of the liberation struggle. We would like to warn the President Mnangagwa to clearly stay away from the war veterans. They have a right to express themselves if they feel that their constitutional rights are being infringed. We have placed surveillance on all veterans of the struggle who are speaking their minds with intention to protect them from clandestine assassination operations, which are currently being planned. Any arrest or assassination as of now, will be a declaration of war in this country. I have to repeat again, we have placed surveillance on all veterans who are speaking their mind.

To the courts- Stay away from politics. I repeat, you are an independent of arm of government, which, in terms of section 164 subsection 2, part A, which clearly states that, I quote, “neither the state nor any institution or agents of government at any level, and no other person may interfere with the functioning of the courts. Therefore, I urge you to stick to the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Do not be used to fight factional wars, as it will end in tears for some of you who will disregard the constitution of Zimbabwe.

In conclusion: we would like to put it on record that this is not a treasonous statement, as it is a statement in terms of section 212, of the constitution of Zimbabwe on functions of defense forces. As we did in November 2017 and a high court order validated the removal of the late president of Zimbabwe, Robert Gabriel Mugabe when he and his family members and thugs surrounding him were causing suffering of the people in Zimbabwe. Therefore, we strongly warn politicians that they must not be used by greedy individuals who want to take this country to a violent confrontation; we shall be communicating with the nation through these unusual channels because of massive infiltration of President Mnangagwa’s secret agency within the rank of the Zimbabwe defense forces. By Munacho Gwamanda- Another chilling coup prophecy has surfaced as tensions escalate within ZANU-PF, where President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, are locked in a fierce power struggle. 

A viral video circulating on social media features an unnamed prophet predicting a bloody military takeover, warning that the internal power struggles within the ruling party could soon erupt into full-scale violence.

In the video, the prophet declares:

“The Lord has spoken, and I must pray for Zimbabwe. I saw another coup—one that will bring chaos and bloodshed. Thiswill not be like before; this time, there will be much suffering, and many lives will be lost.

I saw the current government being overthrown, and in its place, violence and turmoil will arise. The Bible commands us to pray for those in authority, and now more than ever, Zimbabwe needs our prayers.

The Lord revealed to me that a deal was made, but it did not go well. One side agreed to step down and hand over power, but now, they refuse to let go. Because of this, a coup is brewing—a dangerous storm is on the horizon.

We must stand together in prayer and call upon the hand of God to intervene. Let us lift our voices and declare: ‘In the name of Jesus, we pray for Zimbabwe! May peace reign, and may God’s will be done. Amen!’”

This prophecy comes in the wake of Blessing Geza, a war veteran and senior ZANU-PF Central Committee member, issuing a direct threat against President Emmerson Mnangagwa. 

Geza has publicly stated that he will soon reveal the steps war veterans will take to remove Mnangagwa, further escalating tensions within the ruling party.

Geza, known for his close ties to powerful factions within the military, recently gave Mnangagwa an ultimatum to resign, warning that failure to do so would lead to drastic action. 

His statements have added weight to the growing belief that Mnangagwa is losing control over the security forces that helped him seize power in 2017.

Adding to the anxiety, another prominent prophet, Ian Ndlovu, has also issued a chilling prophecy of a coup, cautioning that Zimbabwe’s deepening power struggle could soon spiral out of control.

“We must continue to pray for our nation… Two trains are set to collide. I personally pray for peace for all ordinary Zimbabweans, but change must not be stopped, in whatever form it needs to come,” Ndlovu warned in a now-viral video.

Reports indicate that a group of high-ranking military officials and war veterans recently held a secret meeting to discuss ways to block Mnangagwa’s attempts to extend his rule beyond his current term under the controversial #ED2030 agenda.

A powerful military faction loyal to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is said to be behind the plot. 

Sources close to the discussions reveal that many within the security forces and war veteran community believe Mnangagwa has betrayed the 2017 coup pact, which allegedly included an agreement for him to serve only one term before handing over power to Chiwenga.

A secret meeting reportedly took place in Mashonaland Central, a province historically known as a hub for political coups. The province has long been a stronghold for anti-Mnangagwa elements within ZANU-PF and the military, particularly those loyal to Chiwenga.

A source close to the faction stated:

“You hear what credible war veterans like Blessing Geza are saying. He is not hallucinating; he is communicating a message from the script, and you must listen to him carefully.”

This is not the first time that power struggles within Zimbabwe’s ruling elite have led to political upheaval and bloodshed.

The late Air Force Commander Perrence Shiri—who played a crucial role in the 2017 coup against Robert Mugabe—was known for holding secret meetings with allies such as Paradzai Zimondi and Bindura South MP Remigious Matangira at the Bindura Arcadia Dam.

Both Shiri and Zimondi died under mysterious circumstances during the COVID-19 pandemic, with speculation suggesting that Mnangagwa may have orchestrated their deaths to weaken potential challengers.

Despite Mnangagwa’s purge of senior military officers linked to Chiwenga, tensions continue to simmer within the security forces, with many still loyal to Chiwenga and deeply resentful of Mnangagwa’s growing authoritarianism.

Unlike in 2017, Mnangagwa has strengthened his grip over Zimbabwe’s intelligence agencies and placed loyalists in key military positions. However, history has shown that Zimbabwe’s political landscape is unpredictable, and even a heavily fortified president can be overthrown if military discontent reaches a breaking point.

The rift between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga has widened over the years, with the Vice President increasingly sidelined from key government and party structures. 

By Minacho Gwamanda-The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has announced that the deadline for registering for the June and November 2025 examinations will be March 10 and March 24, respectively.

The examination body has urged candidates to complete the process at their nearest school or examination centre before the deadlines lapse.

In a statement, ZIMSEC confirmed that examination fees have been pegged in US dollars, with a Government subsidy available for candidates in public schools, local authority schools, and non-profit mission schools. 

However, private candidates, students attending private schools, and those retaking subjects will be required to pay the full amount.

Under the new fee structure, O’ Level candidates will pay US$24 per subject, with the Government subsidising US$13, leaving eligible students to cover US$11 per subject.

 A’ Level candidates will be required to pay US$48 per subject, with a Government subsidy of US$26, reducing the amount to US$22 for qualifying students.

Payments can be made in US dollars, South African Rand, or Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) at the prevailing interbank rate as of March 10, 2024, for the June session and March 24, 2024, for the November session.

ZIMSEC also clarified that the Government will subsidise up to seven subjects for O’ Level candidates and four subjects, including Communication Skills, for A’ Level candidates. 

However, the subsidy will not apply to candidates retaking subjects, and students on the Basic Education Assistance Module (BEAM) will not receive financial aid for repeat exams.

The registration announcement comes against a backdrop of mounting concerns over the effectiveness of the new education curriculum introduced in recent years, which has been linked to a sharp decline in national pass rates.

The Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), introduced in 2017, sought to modernise the education system by integrating practical learning, continuous assessment, and digital literacy. 

However, many teachers, students, and parents have raised concerns over its implementation challenges, lack of resources, and increased workload.

ZIMSEC’s most recent results revealed a worrying trend of declining performance, with the 2023 O’ Level pass ratedropping to 27.57%, down from 28.96% in 2022.

Similarly, A’ Level results showed a dip in performance, with many candidates struggling in science and mathematics subjects.

Education experts have attributed the poor performance to several factors, including:

• A shortage of qualified teachers trained to deliver the new curriculum effectively.
• Inadequate learning materials, particularly in rural schools.
• Economic hardships that make it difficult for parents to afford exam fees and supplementary learning resources.
• Frequent disruptions in the school calendar, including COVID-19 lockdowns and teacher strikes over low salaries.

As the exam registration deadline nears, students, parents, and education stakeholders are urging the Government and ZIMSEC to re-evaluate the curriculum’s impact and address the factors contributing to declining pass rates.

Meanwhile, parents and guardians have been advised to check with their respective schools or examination centres for specific registration details.

“Stakeholders are encouraged to contact their respective centres for registration closing dates to avoid any inconvenience,” ZIMSEC stated.

With the exam season approaching, students are encouraged to register early and take advantage of the Government subsidies.

One beneficiary praised the initiative, saying, “These goats will play a crucial role in changing livelihoods, especially here in remote areas, and we want to thank the government for this initiative.” Another added, “As young women, we are excited and hopeful for a better future from this gesture. By A Correspondent | Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume has been convicted for lying under oath during the Commission of Inquiry currently underway in Harare.

The Commision of Inquiry is being chaired by retired judge Justice Maphios Cheda.

Cheda however spared Mafume a custodial sentence after he was ordered to pay US$300 fine.

He was also given a threw months wholly suspended jail term with conditions that he does not commit a similar offence in five years.

He was found guilty of contravening Section. 23 of the Commission of Inquiry Act.

In sentencing him Cheda said, “You gave evidence which you knew was false.

“In assessing a suitable sentence I took into account what you have submitted in mitigation.

“Jacob Mafume, you are sentenced to pay a fine of US$300 or three months in prison which is wholly suspended for five years on condition that during that period you are not convicted of contravening section 13 or 14 of the Act,” said Cheda.

Mafume lied that he stays at Number 110 Coronation Road, Greendale, a property which belongs to one Peter Pfukwa.

Pfukwa runs an auction at the adress.

After he was exposed he told the comission that he had mixed up numbers as he had just moved in.

However, his allies within Zanu PF, led by his so-called investment advisor Paul Tungwarara, are aggressively campaigning for his continued rule beyond 2028.

Tungwarara has been at the forefront of this effort, leveraging state resources and financial incentives to rally support for Mnangagwa’s extended stay in power. 

Last week, he was in Makoni District launching borehole projects for war veterans while publicly declaring that Mnangagwa should remain in office beyond 2028.

On Tuesday, he reportedly distributed high-end smartphones to journalists—a move that has sparked ethical concerns about media independence. 

Reports from Mashonaland West indicate that Tungwarara, who has recently emerged as Mnangagwa’s de facto campaign manager for 2030, handed out over 20 smartphones, including Samsung S25 and iPhone 16 Pro models, to journalists in the province.

Social media has since been flooded with messages from Zanu PF-aligned figures praising Tungwarara’s “generosity.” One user, @TinotendaGacha1, posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“Thank you, Dr. Tungwarara, for your generous donation of 20 high-tech phones to journalists. Your commitment to enhancing digital communication and supporting media professionals is commendable. This initiative will undoubtedly aid in better showcasing the achievements of the Second Republic. We also appreciate the establishment of the journalist fund and the provision of monthly stipends to comrades for promoting EDWORKS. Your efforts are truly making a difference.”

Another Zanu PF supporter wrote:

“Presidential Investment Advisor, Dr. P. Tungwarara, makes a generous donation of 20 high-tech phones to journalists. In a move aimed at enhancing digital communication, the donation will facilitate social media engagement and reporting. It will be used to showcase the accomplishments and initiatives of the Second Republic, led by H.E. President ED Mnangagwa.”

Beyond the smartphone giveaways, reports suggest that 32 journalists are now receiving a $300 monthly stipend for promoting “EDWORKS,” a propaganda campaign supporting Mnangagwa’s leadership. 

A special fund has also been set up to reward journalists actively engaged in pro-Mnangagwa social media campaigns.

Efforts to contact Tungwarara for comment were unsuccessful, while the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists has yet to respond to concerns over media ethics and the independence of journalists accepting such incentives.

Tungwarara’s rise within Mnangagwa’s inner circle has been rapid, particularly after his appointment last year as Special Presidential Investment Advisor to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

His growing influence comes at a time when Mnangagwa’s public declarations of stepping down in 2028 have failed to quell speculation about succession battles within Zanu PF.

The UAE has been central to multiple corruption allegations involving Mnangagwa’s regime. The Al Jazeera Gold Mafia exposé implicated Mnangagwa’s close associates in illicit gold smuggling, with strong ties to Dubai-based networks.

The controversy surrounding the appointment of the Bikita Rural District Council (RDC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Masvingo Province is escalating, as Zanu PF hardliners, particularly councillors, vow to replace the newly appointed Archibald Ncube.

Despite Ncube assuming the role of CEO last week, a group of Zanu PF-aligned councillors is determined to remove him from office. They argue that the process for selecting the new CEO was flawed and that the best candidate for the position was Arnold Mtuke, who had served as the acting CEO.

During the interviews for the CEO position, councillors claim that Mtuke scored the highest marks, proving his competency to lead the district. They further contend that his performance, both during his time as acting CEO and throughout the interview process, made him the ideal candidate.

“We believe Arnold Mtuke should have been appointed the substantive CEO,” one councillor said. “His performance, both as acting CEO and in the interviews, was exemplary, and he clearly stood out.”

The councillors are now pushing for Mtuke’s appointment, claiming that a resolution had been passed in which they formally recommended him as the best candidate for the position. They feel that this recommendation was overlooked in favor of Ncube, who they argue was not the most qualified.

Chivhayo, a convicted fraudster, has become a divisive figure within the ruling party, amassing wealth through multi-million-dollar state tenders—many of them riddled with corruption—while splurging cash, luxury cars, and expensive gifts in what appears to be a politically motivated patronage scheme at Mnangagwa’s behest.

Mnangagwa’s alliance with Chivhayo has sparked tensions within Zanu PF, particularly between the president and his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, who has publicly denounced the businessman’s unchecked influence.

During a carefully stage-managed media briefing with selected senior journalists at State House on Monday, Mnangagwa vigorously defended Chivhayo, dismissing any suggestion of political alignment.

“Chivhayo is not my front,” Mnangagwa insisted when asked about the businessman’s activities. “Stop wasting my time on somebody who is using his money to be philanthropic. If he were a thief, we would have sent the police.”

But Mnangagwa’s response betrayed his discomfort. The “it wasn’t me” president, notorious for dodging accountability, appeared visibly rattled when pressed on Chivhayo’s influence.

The rift between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga deepened further when Chivhayo recently purchased a brand-new 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge—valued at $1.2 million—for Mnangagwa’s chief financial enabler, Kudakwashe Tagwirei.

The ultra-luxury vehicle, set to go into production in April 2025 and delivered in July, was announced in a lavish tribute where Chivhayo praised Tagwirei as a “businessman of unquestionable integrity” and a “mentor.”

The extravagant gift could not have come at a worse time for Mnangagwa, as discontent within Zanu PF over the looting of state resources continues to grow. 

Chiwenga has reportedly become increasingly frustrated with Mnangagwa’s inner circle—particularly the so-called “Zvigananda” elite—who continue to amass vast wealth through opaque deals and government contracts.

By showering Tagwirei with such a high-profile gift, Chivhayo is not only flaunting his financial clout but also openly defying Chiwenga’s calls for accountability.

His actions reinforce the culture of impunity within Mnangagwa’s faction, exacerbating divisions within the ruling party.

Chiwenga’s indirect rebuke of Chivhayo—and, by extension, Mnangagwa—signals a growing power struggle at the heart of Zanu PF.

Chikomba, Mashonaland East – In a heart-wrenching incident, the bodies of two five-year-old boys, Tanaka Mombeyarara and Tafadzwa Makamure, were discovered standing on the river bed of the Dora River, bleeding from the nose, after they drowned in a pool near Mombeyarara Village, Chief Chivese.

The Mashonaland East Provincial Police spokesperson, Simon Chazovachiyi, confirmed the tragic event, cautioning the public against playing near water bodies. “We are running awareness campaigns to educate people about the dangers of playing near water bodies. Parents should closely monitor their children and explain the risks associated with playing near water. Water is safe only for drinking,” Chazovachiyi stated.

The incident unfolded when the boys, who were playing at Tafadzwa’s parents’ homestead, managed to slip away unnoticed while Tafadzwa’s mother, Junior Mhukayesango, was busy with chores. Upon realizing the boys were missing, Mhukayesango searched the vicinity and found their clothes on the riverbank, leading to the grim discovery after the water was drained from the pool.

The community is grappling with the tragedy, with some villagers suggesting that dark spirits might inhabit the water, adding a layer of folklore to the sorrowful event.

As investigations continue, this incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance around natural water bodies, especially in rural settings where children’s play often extends to these areas.

Authorities are urging all guardians to heighten their supervision of children near any water source to prevent such accidents from recurring.

Harare, Zimbabwe – In a harrowing case that recently unfolded before the Harare Magistrates’ Court, a 14-year-old Form 2 pupil from Harare was subjected to a brutal assault by four men. The incident occurred on the evening of October 20th, 2024, when the victim left her home after an argument with her mother.

According to court documents, the young girl was lured into the home of the first accused, a 30-year-old man, under the pretense of being offered accommodation for the night. Upon arrival, she encountered three other men, aged 34, 36, and 30. The group then proceeded to threaten her with a knife, beat her with a hose pipe, and spike her drink with an unknown substance, rendering her unconscious.

In her incapacitated state, the four men took turns sexually assaulting her. The victim awoke the next morning in severe pain, with visible evidence of the assault on her body. She confided in her aunt, who promptly reported the incident to the police. A medical examination confirmed the assault.

The first accused was found guilty of rape and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. However, in a surprising turn of events, his three accomplices were acquitted at the close of the state case. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) is currently contemplating an appeal regarding the acquittal of the three accomplices.

This case has sparked outrage and concern over the safety of young individuals in the community, highlighting the need for stronger protective measures and justice for victims of such heinous crimes. “I thought you are putting me very clear that I have two terms, and these terms are very definite, and I’m so democratic. Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – A 34-year-old illegal immigrant from Equatorial Guinea, Angue Benjamin Nchama, has been sentenced to pay a fine of US$100 and will be deported after violating Zimbabwe’s Immigration Act. The ruling was delivered by Bulawayo magistrate Mr. Ernest Muzembe, who also imposed a four-month suspended prison sentence.

Nchama, who has been residing in Zimbabwe since 2014, was found guilty of remaining in the country without a valid permit. According to court records, his student permit expired on January 17, 2025, after several extensions. However, he failed to renew it and continued to stay in the country illegally.

Legal Ruling and Security Concerns

During sentencing, Magistrate Muzembe emphasized that Nchama’s case was a strict liability offence, meaning his intention did not need to be proven—his mere presence in the country without documentation was sufficient for conviction.

Further, the court acknowledged concerns raised by Chief Immigration Officer, Mr. Godfrey Kondo, who stated that Nchama’s continued presence in Zimbabwe posed a national security threat.

Violence Allegations and Protection Order

The case took a dramatic turn after it was revealed that Nchama was also involved in a domestic dispute. His girlfriend’s mother, Ms. Gertrude Makwamba, filed for a protection order against him, citing violent behavior.

According to State Prosecutor Mr. Mehluli Ndlovu, Nchama allegedly assaulted Ms. Makwamba over accusations that she failed to properly groom her daughter. He reportedly went as far as accusing her of hiring men to sleep with her daughter. The matter came to light after Ms. Makwamba approached the Harare Civil Court, leading to the exposure of his illegal immigration status.

Deportation Orders

Following the court ruling, immigration authorities will now process Nchama’s deportation back to Equatorial Guinea. His four-month suspended sentence will remain active should he re-enter Zimbabwe unlawfully in the future.

The ruling Zanu PF party has vowed to remove the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bikita Rural District Council (RDC), Archibald Ncube, despite the fact that he just assumed his duties last week.

According to sources within the party, hardliners within Zanu PF are determined to oust Ncube from his position.

The move has sparked tension within the party, with influential members working behind the scenes to ensure his removal.

A Zanu PF source revealed over the weekend that Senator Anna Rungani, party hardliner Thomas Mataga and senior ruling party officials are
leading the efforts to unseat Ncube.

“Senator Rungani and Boss Thomas Mataga are spearheading efforts to remove Ncube from office. They want to replace him with a declared party sympathiser.

Ncube is going, they are not looking back, wait and see. They are using their political muscles to remove the new CEO from office,” the source said.

The push to remove Ncube has stirred unrest within the local political landscape, with concerns that political maneuvering and influence are overriding due process and merit-based appointments.

Mnangagwa made these remarks during an interactive session with editors from various media outlets at State House in Harare this Monday.

The president’s stance comes amid criticism, including from outspoken war veteran Blessed Geza, who questioned Mnangagwa’s attempts to extend his presidency.

The tensions became evident on Monday at State House when Mnangagwa met with editors to address concerns about his alleged push for constitutional amendments to extend his rule.

During the meeting, Mnangagwa vigorously defended Chivhayo, dismissing any suggestion that he was politically aligned with him.

“Chivhayo is not my front,” Mnangagwa said in response to a question about Chivhayo’s influence. “Stop wasting my time on somebody who is using his money to be philanthropic. If he were a thief, we would have sent the police.”

His comments come in the wake of Vice President Chiwenga’s thinly veiled warning about the rampant looting of state resources by politically connected elites.

Without naming Chivhayo directly, Chiwenga metaphorically referred to him as “Zvigananda,” implying that he was aware of individuals enriching themselves at the expense of the state.

The rift between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga over Chivhayo’s influence intensified after the businessman recently purchased a brand-new 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge for Mnangagwa’s chief financial enabler, Kudakwashe Tagwirei.

The ultra-luxury vehicle, valued at $1.2 million, is set to go into production in April and will be delivered in July 2025.

Chivhayo, who has long benefitted from lucrative government contracts, announced the extravagant gift in a gushing tribute to Tagwirei, describing him as a “businessman of unquestionable integrity” and a “mentor.” Growing Tensions in Zanu PF

The timing of this ostentatious gift is particularly significant, as it coincides with increasing tensions within Zanu PF.

Chiwenga has reportedly grown frustrated with the unchecked looting of state resources by Mnangagwa’s inner circle, particularly the so-called “Zvigananda” elite, who continue to amass wealth through opaque deals and state-funded contracts.

By rewarding Tagwirei with a lavish car, Chivhayo is not only flaunting his financial muscle but also openly defying Chiwenga’s calls for accountability.

By A Correspondent | Owners of a leading construction company, Gray Homes breathed a sigh of relief on Monday after the US$1 million fraud case against them collapsed.

The couple Gray Mudiwa (44) and wife Annavester Mudiwa (39) was accused of conning vice president constantino Chiwenga’s wife, Miniyothabo in a construction deal gone wrong.

Prosecutors withdrew charges against the two before plea when they appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei on Monday.

Reasons were not availed.

The two were represented by their lawyer Lovemore Madhuku.

It was alleged that the two were given a contract to build a double-storey mansion, warehouse and a shopping mall.

Prosecutors alleged that sometime in March 2023, the couple duped the complainant into believing that they could construct for her a double-storey house, a cottage and a boundary wall.

It was being alleged that they also misrepresented their capacity and falsified that they could and would complete the project in 90 days.

Miniyothabo then gave them US$ 560 000-00.

It was alleged that after receiving the funds, the accused persons diverted them to their own use, and did not complete the project prejudicing Chiwenga of US$389 100-00.

In the second count it was alleged that sometime in June 2023, the accused persons misled the complainant into believing that they were able to construct a Warehouse at Chivaraidze Farm in Goromonzi while they knew and were certain that they could not work on the construction.

Acting on the misrepresentation Chiwenga again proceeded to give to the accused persons US$550 000-00.

It was alleged that they did not complete the job and converted funds amounting to US$390 000-00 to their own use.

It was alleged that nothing was recovered.

In the last count it was alleged that in September 2023 the couple again convinced Miniyothabo that they were able to construct a Shopping Mall at Silalatshani Business Centre in Filabusi on behalf.

“The accused was given US$158 000-00 due to the misrepresentation.

“After receiving the funds, the accused persons diverted funds worth US$151 000-00 to their own use.”
