“Fix Hospitals Now,” MP Openly Challenges Mnangagwa

By Tinashe Sambiri

Hon. Ropafadzo Makumire, MP for Chiredzi Central Constituency, has openly challenged President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the government to take urgent action to address the deteriorating state of healthcare in Zimbabwe.

Speaking recently in Parliament, Makumire did not mince words as he called out the government for its failure to adequately support the country’s hospitals, particularly in the wake of a series of tragic accidents that have claimed lives due to inadequate medical care.

“Our hospitals are in dire need of attention,” Makumire stated

. “Frankly, we can’t keep going like this. The situation is unacceptable, and people are suffering because of it.”

Makumire, who has been the sole opposition representative for Chiredzi in Parliament since 2023, expressed deep concern over the government’s lack of urgency in improving healthcare infrastructure and services.

He criticized the government for repeatedly neglecting the needs of citizens, especially in rural areas where healthcare facilities are severely underfunded and under-equipped.

He emphasized that the recent deaths from accidents were a stark reminder of how dire the situation had become. “These deaths could have been prevented if our hospitals were adequately equipped to handle emergencies,” he said. “This is a matter of life and death, and we need to fix our hospitals now.”

Makumire’s remarks reflect the growing frustration of many Zimbabweans who feel abandoned by the government when it comes to basic services like healthcare. The Chiredzi MP’s call for immediate reform serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for change in Zimbabwe’s healthcare system.

Is Mnangagwa Preparing To Flee To Dubai?

“Emmerson Mnangagwa is planning to flee to Dubai.

Be ready to march in. Keep your phones juiced up with data,” claims pro Geza movement activist, Comrade Nyoka YeMabhunu

“This time we are not going to allow thieves to exit the country. As for you you should ensure you are juiced up,” Nyoka YeMabhunu concludes.

Dubai is where several billions of dollars and gold are stashed as filmed in the GoldMafia documentary. The UAE also hosts Mnangagwa’s private jet he purchased with state money just after the coup.

Presidential spokesperson George Charamba had not commented at the time of writing.

The development comes at a time the president was told to resign by war veterans who accuse him of trying to twist the constitution so that he can remain head of state beyond his two terms which expire in 2028.

This is a developing story

Nelson Chamisa Strengthens Grassroots Support in Masvingo

By A Correspondent

Supporters of opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa gathered in Masvingo Central Constituency over the weekend for a strategic workshop aimed at reinforcing the political movement at the grassroots level.

Masvingo, Chamisa’s home province, remains a stronghold of support for the leader, as evidenced by the turnout and enthusiasm at the event.

“On 23 February, we held a strategic planning workshop for Masvingo Central Constituency, with leadership from all polling stations in attendance,” said one of the officials who participated in the workshop.

The focus of the workshop was to lay out a clear vision for the upcoming election cycle, with a strong emphasis on local community engagement and solutions.

“2025 is the year of offering community solutions,” the official added, reflecting the overarching theme of the workshop and the growing momentum behind Chamisa’s political movement in the region.

As 2025 draws nearer, Chamisa’s campaign continues to gain traction, with his supporters prioritizing local issues and working to ensure their voices are heard in the broader political landscape.

Chamisa’s firm grassroots support in Masvingo underscores his ongoing influence in the province, where the opposition leader has consistently maintained strong ties with local communities.

State Agents Torment Journalist Blessed Mhlanga

By A Correspondent

Alpha Media Holdings journalist Blessed Mhlanga has faced harassment by State Security agents following his work interviewing political figures.

The Zimbabwe National Editor’s Forum (ZINEF) has raised alarm over Mhlanga’s arrest, calling it an act of intimidation aimed at silencing press freedom.

Mhlanga, who works for the HStv platform, was quizzed by police on 24 February 2025, allegedly for violating Section 164 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.

Authorities claim he transmitted messages that incite violence, linked to interviews with war veterans leader Blessed Geza and others.

The police investigation stems from statements made during interviews on 27 January 2025 and 11 February 2025, in which Geza, a former liberation war veteran and Zanu PF central committee member, allegedly made inflammatory comments.

During the interrogation, police focused on Mhlanga’s role as a journalist and the press conferences addressed by Geza.

Despite Mhlanga’s work falling within the scope of legitimate journalism, he has been detained overnight at Harare Central Police Station. His lawyer, Chris Mhike, confirmed Mhlanga’s detention and his expected court appearance the following day.

Geza, for his part, is now wanted by authorities on multiple charges, including insulting the President. His wife, Roseline Tawengwa, has also been detained by the police, with the whereabouts of Geza still unknown.

ZINEF has strongly condemned Mhlanga’s arrest, emphasizing that his journalistic actions were legitimate and conducted in the public interest. The forum insists that the arrest of journalists for doing their jobs has a chilling effect on press freedom and undermines the constitutionally protected right to freedom of expression. In its statement, ZINEF demanded Mhlanga’s immediate release, urging authorities to ensure his safety in custody and refrain from any form of mistreatment.

Furthermore, ZINEF reiterated its call for the government to respect the constitutional rights of journalists, particularly those enshrined in Section 61 of Zimbabwe’s Constitution. This section guarantees the right to freedom of expression, media freedom, and the right to seek and communicate information. The organization reminded the government that while freedom of expression does not extend to promoting violence or hate speech, Mhlanga’s interviews fall well within the bounds of journalistic and constitutional rights.

ZINEF also called for a safer working environment for journalists, free from harassment and intimidation. The organization expressed solidarity with Mhlanga, his family, and colleagues, emphasizing their continued commitment to advocating for the protection of journalists’ rights and press freedom in Zimbabwe.

Amnesty International has also condemned the arrest, with a statement expressing strong support for Mhlanga. The human rights organization criticized the Zimbabwean authorities for using the justice system to suppress media freedom, which it views as essential for advancing human rights and a free society.

Amnesty International called for the immediate release of Mhlanga and the unconditional dropping of all charges against him. The organization reaffirmed that journalism is not a crime, and media professionals should be allowed to work without fear of retaliation.

This incident highlights growing concerns about press freedom in Zimbabwe, where journalists continue to face intimidation and legal threats for their work.

Both local and international organizations have voiced their support for Mhlanga, calling for a free press and an end to government attempts to stifle independent journalism.

Africa’s Election Dilemma: Can Democracy Drive True Development?

By Paulo Bussane | Africa has long been seen as a continent on the brink of transformation. Over the last few decades, democracy has flourished in many nations, with elections becoming the centerpiece of political change. For decades, African countries were ruled by authoritarian regimes, military juntas, or colonial powers. Yet, as the century turned, hope emerged, and democratic processes were slowly adopted across the continent. Despite holding regular elections, many African nations are still struggling to achieve meaningful development. So, can democracy be the engine of true development, or is it merely a political game where the masses are left behind?

As elections have become the symbol of Africa’s democratic journey, it’s clear that they bring about both hope and frustration. Voters across the continent flock to the polls, placing their hopes in the belief that democracy will deliver on promises of peace, stability, and economic prosperity. South Africa, a country that emerged from the shadows of apartheid to become a beacon of democratic progress, stands as one of the continent’s shining examples. Yet, while it has undoubtedly made strides in terms of political freedoms, the reality on the ground is often more complicated. Despite regular elections and the peaceful transfer of power, South Africa remains trapped in a quagmire of poverty, inequality, and unemployment. A country once hailed as the model for African democracy now faces widespread political corruption, joblessness, and racial tensions. The question is: what is going wrong?

In 2019, South Africa’s unemployment rate was over 30 percent, and a staggering 55 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. The country’s democracy has not been able to break the chains of its apartheid past, and in some ways, the transition to democracy has failed to fulfill the promises that were made to its people. As President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa himself put it, “We cannot afford to have a democracy that does not deliver on the promise of improving people’s lives.” Ramaphosa’s words ring true across much of the continent. Despite holding elections regularly, many African governments still fail to deliver basic services, decent healthcare, and infrastructure that can lift millions out of poverty.

Ghana, often touted as one of the continent’s more successful democracies, also exemplifies the dilemma facing African nations. Since the early 1990s, Ghana has made significant strides in consolidating its democracy with peaceful elections and political transitions. However, much of its economic development remains stunted. Ghana, like many African countries, struggles with poor infrastructure, a lack of jobs for its young population, and a reliance on foreign aid. While Ghana’s democracy provides political stability, the developmental gains have been modest at best. The UN’s 2019 Human Development Index (HDI) ranked Ghana 142nd globally, far from a prosperous nation. The problem, according to Ghanaian political analyst Kwame A. Nkrumah, lies not in the absence of democracy but in “the failure of democratic institutions to deliver on the most basic needs of its citizens.”

But why does this paradox exist? Why are elections, which seem to promise so much, failing to bring about the change needed? A major issue lies in the fact that many African nations still struggle with systemic corruption, ineffective governance, and fragile political institutions. The transparency and accountability that democracy requires often remain elusive. Many African leaders have mastered the art of “electioneering” but lack the political will to implement long-term development policies. In Kenya, for instance, the 2007-2008 post-election violence, which resulted in over 1,000 deaths and displaced hundreds of thousands, highlights the dark side of democracy. The elections were marred by allegations of fraud, ethnic violence, and vote-rigging. A country that holds elections but fails to build trust among its people and institutions is one that jeopardizes its democratic and developmental prospects.

Furthermore, the issue of political elites using democracy to perpetuate their own power has become a central issue. In many African countries, the political elite remains entrenched, using democracy as a façade to maintain control over resources and power. The ruling party’s hold over the state apparatus often prevents genuine competition, and the ruling class manipulates the system to remain in office, often by rigging elections, suppressing opposition, and stifling dissent. As Nigerian author Chinua Achebe once put it, “The problem with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership.” He could just as easily have been talking about many other African countries. In these situations, democracy often turns into a mere ritual, one that provides an illusion of choice but not real power to the people.

Moreover, one cannot ignore the pervasive influence of poverty and inequality on the effectiveness of democracy in Africa. As long as the majority of the population lives in abject poverty, democracy will always be a struggle. Voter turnout, for example, often declines in countries where the people see little benefit from elections. This is particularly true for the youth, who have increasingly distanced themselves from the political process. As Nanjala Nyabola, a Kenyan political analyst, pointed out in her book Digital Democracy, “It is difficult to ask young people to engage in politics when their daily struggle for survival is so consuming.” In countries like Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, youth unemployment rates are alarmingly high. These young people, often without access to quality education or job prospects, are left without faith in a system that seems indifferent to their struggles.

While democracy in Africa has undeniably brought about some positive change, such as the reduction of political violence in certain countries, it has not solved the core issue of development. Democracy, in its current form, has not created a direct link between elections and economic improvement. In fact, in many cases, the political process itself has created barriers to economic progress. Leaders often prioritize short-term political goals, like securing electoral victory, rather than long-term planning for development. As the Tanzanian political theorist Ali A. Mazrui once said, “Africa’s political economy is locked in a paradox. On the one hand, democracy promises political freedom; on the other, it demands economic sacrifices.”

However, to say that democracy is inherently flawed in Africa would be misleading. The issue lies not with the idea of democracy but with its implementation. Africa must take a more holistic approach to development, one that includes economic policies targeting poverty reduction, inclusive growth, and the strengthening of democratic institutions. A deeper commitment to fighting corruption and building accountable systems is essential. Institutions must be able to deliver the services and infrastructure needed to sustain a healthy democracy, and the democratic process itself must involve not just elections but meaningful participation in governance.

African leaders must also shift their focus from solely winning elections to prioritizing the long-term well-being of their citizens. In that sense, true democracy will only emerge when African leaders prioritize economic development as much as they prioritize electoral victories. The people’s voices must be heard, but that voice must be more than just a vote—it must also reflect their economic aspirations and hopes for a better life. In the words of Nigerian political leader Obafemi Awolowo, “The issue is not whether Africa can be democratic, but whether democracy can work for Africa.”

There is hope, albeit faint, that Africa’s youth, who are increasingly engaged in the political landscape, may be the ones who push for a more meaningful form of democracy. This new generation has access to global ideas, technology, and networks that could be used to create an Africa that delivers on its democratic promises

Varakashi Start Persecuting Journalist Who Asked Chiwenga Hot Question

-Journalist Annahstacia Ndlovu Targeted by Online Bullies After Questioning Vice President Chiwenga

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – February 25, 2025 | A wave of online harassment has erupted against journalist Annahstacia Ndlovu after she posed a pointed question to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga during the 21st Movement function in Bulawayo last Friday. The online group, identifying themselves as “Varakashi,” has launched a coordinated campaign of abuse, trolling, and intimidation against Ndlovu, in a development that raises concerns over press freedom and the safety of journalists in Zimbabwe.

Annahstacia Ndlovu

Ndlovu’s question, which touched on the contentious issue of extending President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rule until 2030, seemed to ignite the backlash. On the sidelines of the event, she briefly asked Chiwenga for his thoughts on the growing calls for Mnangagwa to remain in power, a query that was met with a diplomatic response from the Vice President. However, the fallout online was swift and brutal.

Screenshots of the attacks circulating on social media reveal a barrage of derogatory comments and threats aimed at Ndlovu. The Varakashi group, known for aggressively defending the ruling party and its leadership, has targeted her with accusations of being anti-government and promoting a hostile agenda.

Media advocacy groups and human rights organizations have condemned the harassment, calling for immediate action to safeguard Ndlovu and ensure her freedom to perform her journalistic duties without fear.

“These kind of threats nd intimidation of journalists doing their duties must be strongly condemned . Faceless thugs stay away from our media guys. Safety and Security of journalists under threat,” said Media Centre Masvingo in a Tweet.

Ndlovu has not yet released a public statement regarding the harassment, but colleagues have expressed concerns over her safety and well-being. Calls are growing for law enforcement agencies to investigate the threats and hold perpetrators accountable.

This incident comes at a critical time when Zimbabwe’s political landscape is under intense scrutiny, with debates over leadership succession and governance reform taking center stage. The government has not yet commented on the online abuse directed at Ndlovu.

More updates to follow as the story develops.

Chivhayo In Fresh Mnangagwa Family Photo-Shoot

By Munacho Gwamanda-A fresh picture of convicted fraudster and controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo alongside President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his twin sons, Sean and Collins, has surfaced on social media, further fueling speculation about his deep ties to the First Family and his role in state-linked corruption.

The image, taken in an opulent setting adorned with Zimbabwean national symbols, underscores Chivhayo’s proximity to power—an association that has allowed him to amass wealth through questionable government contracts.

From the botched Gwanda solar project, where he received millions without delivering, to alleged defence contracts, Chivhayo’s fortunes have skyrocketed while Zimbabweans endure worsening economic hardships.

Adding to the controversy, Chivhayo reportedly travelled to Kenya last weekend, allegedly delivering another tranche of illicit funds linked to his murky business dealings.

Sources with insider knowledge of his operations claim that his frequent trips abroad—often aboard his private jet—are part of a broader network of financial manoeuvres benefiting Zimbabwe’s ruling elite.

“Wicknell Chivhayo traveled to Kenya this afternoon with his fiancée to deliver yet another ‘loot.’ His flight history shows that he has been busy, frequently flying in and out of Zimbabwe, running his usual ‘errands,’” a source disclosed.

His recent meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto raised further eyebrows, with critics suggesting that Chivhayo is expanding his financial operations beyond Zimbabwe.

The visit reinforced suspicions that he is a conduit for illicit transactions, possibly leveraging political connections to facilitate cross-border money movements.

However, not everyone in ZANU-PF supports Chivhayo’s growing influence.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga recently took a veiled swipe at individuals like him, warning those exploiting ties to the First Family for corrupt activities.

Speaking at a gathering, Chiwenga described some of Mnangagwa’s close allies as Zvigandanda—bootlickers who enrich themselves through unchecked patronage.

He suggested that their time was running out and hinted that some could face legal consequences if he takes over the presidency in 2028.

This statement has been widely interpreted as a direct challenge to Mnangagwa’s inner circle, particularly business figures like Chivhayo, whose controversial dealings continue to dominate public discourse.

The remarks highlight growing factionalism within ZANU-PF, as Chiwenga positions himself as a potential successor while subtly undermining Mnangagwa’s allies.

Despite mounting criticism, Mnangagwa has repeatedly defended Chivhayo.

When asked about their relationship and the businessman’s dubious financial dealings, Mnangagwa dismissed concerns.

“If there is anyone who has lost money to Chivhayo, they should report him to the police,” he told journalists—remarks widely seen as a tacit endorsement of Chivhayo’s activities.

Mnangagwa Sets Up Parallel Secret Spy Network to Counter Chiwenga

By Bradshaw Muzanenhamo | President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has set up a parallel intelligence agency meant to counter his deputy, General Chiwenga. According to sources within his covert agency, the structures were established immediately after he took office in 2017, a clear sign that he had no intentions to hand over power any time soon.

Leading this shadowy network, nicknamed the Zvigure, is Vongai Manungo, a former ZANU-PF party operative with questionable motives and a treacherous agenda.

The Zvigure operates outside the norms of Zimbabwe’s Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) and government intelligence apparatus, focusing their efforts on a rather conspicuous target: Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Manungo, whose ascent within the party ranks was marked by her proximity to prominent figures, is believed to wield substantial influence. As head of the Zvigure, she recruits operatives from the police and the military, including specialists from the Special Services Department (SAS) and even the disgraced CIO.

Her recruitment strategy is as brazen as it is effective, drawing on a roster of individuals who share a vested interest in both protecting their positions and tangling with the Vice President.

Rumors swirl that Manungo played a hand in the recent wave of “mysterious” illnesses that have afflicted high-ranking officials, including ministers and generals.

Whispers of her involvement in poisoning incidents have raised eyebrows and given rise to chilling paranoia among those navigating the treacherous waters of Zimbabwean politics.

The list of deceased and ailing leaders appears to be a testament to her potentially lethal operations. Chiwenga, with his growing distrust of the government’s conventional intelligence channels, must now grapple with a reality fraught with betrayal.

But why did Mnangagwa opt for this insidious approach?

The answer lies in a jigsaw puzzle of ambition, paranoia, and fractured loyalties. The president, knows that he is un electable and is quite aware that Zimbabweans wouldn’t want him to hang on to power.

Unlike, Mugabe, who at least had the backing of the CIO and the police, Mnangagwa is isolated with all the security apparats wanting the back of him. The irony that he is employing an unregulated faction to manage his affairs, in contrast to the well-resourced intelligence agencies at his disposal, illustrates a breakdown of faith in the very structures he once helped establish.

Moreso, ED has gone to create for ‘ED’ affiliates, parallel ZANU PF structures bent on keeping him in office even beyond the constitutional limit.

The Zvigure’s operations are suspected to be concentrated in Belvedere, a neighbourhood teeming with machinations and plots.

As the shadowy brigade of spies gathers intel on Chiwenga documenting every interaction, conspiring against his allies, and undermining his influence the Vice President stands on precarious ground.

Vongai Manungo’s machinations threaten to spiral into violence as old grievances resurface, painted by suspicions between comrades-turned-rivals.

The president’s clandestine dealings serve as both a shield and a sword, wielding the promise of power while suffocating the ideals upon which the nation was built.

Manungo was contacted for a comment.

Five cleared in mining extortion case

A BULAWAYO magistrate has acquitted five accused persons who were facing charges of extortion in mining related disputes for lack of evidence.

Munyaradzi Charakupa, Tawanda Mangi, Percy Pemba, Paul Chakaingesu and Victor Jaja were found not guilty of the allegations by Bulawayo magistrate Shepard Mjanji.

The court ruled that there was no evidence to support the extortion case in which the five was accused of demanding large sums of money under threats of canceling mining licenses and using their supposed influence with high-ranking government officials.

On the charge the five allegedly extorted US$40,000 from the complainant Dumisani Dube, the Corporate Rescuer of Fools Mine on July 23, 2024.

One of the accused Jaja was also alleged to have claimed he had killed four people to instill fear in Dube. As a result, the accused were acquitted of this particular charge.

In his ruling the magistrate said: “The court has thoroughly examined the evidence presented in relation to this particular charge. Having considered the testimonies provided and the submissions made by both the prosecution and the defense, it is evident that there is no direct or corroborative evidence linking the accused to the specific allegation under count four.”

The magistrate said the complainant is using the courts to fix their personal agendas and Jaja was not present on the day in question.

The court was not happy be used by the state and complainant.

Allegations are that the accused persons impersonated members of the President’s Office, the Presidential Police Protection Unit and the Military Intelligence Department to extort over US$57 000 from Dube.

According to the State, sometime in February 2024, Mangi and Jaja approached Dube at his legal business office, introducing themselves as government operatives overseeing mining affairs. Charakupa and another accomplice, Pemba, allegedly posed as Military intelligence officers protecting the interests of the late permanent secretary in the ministry of War Veterans, Clive Mphambela.

The accused were alleged to have demanded large sums of money under threats of canceling mining licenses and using their supposed influence with high-ranking government officials.

It was prooved hat the Complainant is a pathetic lier.

It was proved that the Complainant and the one Mahamad Daka forged a general power of attorney and a board resolution which were used to place Complainant Dumisani Dube to be a coperate rescue practioner.

It was proved that the accused persons are the one who employed Complainant to be their company lawyer.

It was proved that Complainant is selling company assets using the coperate rescue practioner status.

Two Men Intercepted With Guns At Mnangagwa Function In Beitbridge

Security officials on Monday intercepted two men on allegations of bringing a gun to a function where President Emmerson Mnangagwa was officiating at a groundbreaking ceremony in Beitbridge.

The men were intercepted when their car was searched at a security checkpoint a few hundred metres from where Mnangagwa and his two deputies Constantino Guvheya Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi were leading several government officials at the ceremony attended by about 1 000 people.

“We are investigating such a case. Our Criminal Investigation Department is holding some men in connection with that offence and that is all I can say for now,” Beitbridge Police District commander, Chief Superintendent Mesuli Ncube said.

Zim Hit By Serious ECD Teacher Shortages

By Munacho Gwamanda- Zimbabwe is grappling with a severe shortage of Early Childhood Development (ECD) teachers, as well as science and mathematics educators, exacerbating the ongoing crisis in the education sector.

The dire situation has forced the government to authorize parents, through School Development Committees (SDCs), to employ temporary relief teachers in an effort to fill the gap.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has set a target to recruit 8,000 teachers this year to mitigate the critical teacher deficit in schools.

However, this measure alone is unlikely to resolve the crisis, given the worsening attrition of qualified educators due to poor salaries and deteriorating working conditions.

For years, Zimbabwean teachers have decried poor remuneration, with many earning salaries far below the poverty datum line.

Qualified educators, particularly those in specialized subjects such as science, mathematics, and ECD, have been leaving the profession in droves, either seeking better-paying opportunities abroad or transitioning to other industries.

Despite periodic salary increments, teachers continue to face economic hardships, struggling to afford basic necessities, transport costs, and housing.

In some cases, teachers resort to informal side jobs, including vending and tutoring, just to make ends meet.

The mass exodus of trained professionals has left schools—especially those in rural areas—without adequate teaching staff, leading to overcrowded classrooms and compromised education quality.

Responding to questions from legislators during a recent Question and Answer session in Parliament, Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Angeline Gata acknowledged the crisis, particularly in ECD and STEM subjects.

She confirmed that SDCs have been permitted to engage temporary relief teachers where funding allows.

“As a ministry, we have gone public on the shortage of teachers in ECD and other critical learning areas,” she said. “We have even extended that to other levels or grades experiencing similar shortages. We are grateful that our request for additional teachers is receiving attention from the employer, the Public Service Commission (PSC).”

Gata explained that, in previous years, the ministry had relied on para-professional teachers—unqualified or underqualified individuals engaged by SDCs to address the staffing gaps.

While this arrangement is a temporary solution, it highlights the gravity of the crisis and the government’s struggle to provide fully qualified educators.

“These para-professionals were contracted by schools, with agreements made between parents and teachers. Their employment was conditional on the availability of funds to pay them, as the government does not interfere with these contracts,” Gata said.

The reliance on temporary and unqualified relief teachers underscores the deepening crisis in Zimbabwe’s education sector.

Without urgent government intervention—through competitive salaries, improved working conditions, and a comprehensive strategy to retain trained professionals—ECD and other critical subjects will continue to suffer.

What Is a Bitcoin Wallet?

A Bitcoin wallet is a digital tool that allows you to store, send, and receive Bitcoin. It functions similarly to a bank account, providing you with an address to manage your cryptocurrency transactions. There are different types of Bitcoin wallets, including software wallets, hardware wallets, and online wallets.

Choosing the Right Wallet

When selecting a Bitcoin wallet for gambling, consider the following options:

  • Software Wallets: These wallets are apps or programs that you install on your computer or mobile device. They offer a good balance between convenience and security.
  • Hardware Wallets: These physical devices store your Bitcoin offline, providing maximum security. However, they may not be as convenient for frequent transactions.
  • Online Wallets: These wallets are hosted by third-party services and provide easy access to your funds. While convenient, they may be less secure than other options.

For regular Bitcoin gambling, a combination of software and hardware wallets can provide a balance of security and accessibility.

Winning Strategies for Bitcoin Gambling

Bankroll Management

Effective bankroll management is essential for successful Bitcoin gambling. Set a budget for each gaming session and avoid wagering more than you can afford to lose. Divide your bankroll into smaller portions to extend your playing time and minimize the risk of significant losses.

Focus on Low-House-Edge Games

Maximize your chances of winning by playing games with a low house edge. Popular options include blackjack, baccarat, and certain types of video poker. These games offer better odds for players, increasing your potential for long-term success.

Use Provably Fair Games

Take advantage of provably fair games offered by Bitcoin casinos. These games use cryptographic algorithms to ensure that each outcome is random and cannot be manipulated. By verifying the fairness of each result, you can gamble with greater confidence.

Take Advantage of Bonuses

Many Bitcoin casinos offer bonuses, such as welcome bonuses, deposit matches, and free spins. Use these promotions to extend your playing time and increase your chances of winning. Be sure to read the terms and conditions to understand wagering requirements and other restrictions.

Know When to Stop

One of the most important strategies in gambling is knowing when to stop. Set win and loss limits for each session, and stick to them. Avoid chasing losses, as this can lead to impulsive decisions and further losses.

Security Tips for Bitcoin Gambling

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Protect your casino account by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a verification code in addition to your password.

Avoid Public Wi-Fi

Caught In The Act Bribing

Mutare Magistrates’ Court Fines Two Taxi Boss Employees for Bribery

By Dorrothy Moyo : Mutare, Zimbabwe — The Mutare Magistrates’ Court has handed down fines to Emmanuel Pemba (47) and Josphat Taizivei Tavashe (38), both employees of Taxi Boss, after convicting them of bribery under Section 170(1)(b) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act. The duo was each fined USD $120 for their unlawful actions.

The bribery incident occurred on December 11, 2024, at a roadblock near Mutare Teachers College. Pemba, who was driving a commuter omnibus, and Tavashe, serving as the conductor, were stopped by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer Peace Runyararo Muchenje.

In an attempt to avoid penalties for traffic violations, Tavashe handed Muchenje USD $3.00 as a bribe. However, the exchange did not go unnoticed. Officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) were conducting surveillance in the area and witnessed the bribery.

Following the incident, Officer Muchenje was arrested for accepting the bribe. A subsequent manhunt led to the capture of Pemba and Tavashe, culminating in their conviction and sentencing.

The case highlights the Zimbabwean government’s ongoing crackdown on corruption, with authorities urging citizens to uphold integrity and transparency. The strong stance against bribery was reinforced by the Ministry of Justice, which emphasized the need for law enforcement and public cooperation in curbing corruption.

The conviction serves as a stern reminder that corruption, regardless of scale, will not be tolerated. The public is encouraged to report any instances of bribery and corruption to the relevant authorities as the nation pushes forward with its #NoToBribery campaign.

Triple Murder Suspect Caught Hiding in Bush, Attempts Suicide as Police and Villagers Close In

By A Correspondent | Karoi, Zimbabwe — A dramatic end unfolded in Karoi as triple murder suspect Trymore Tore (37) was caught hiding in a bush after a two-day manhunt led by police and community members. Tore, who is accused of committing a brutal triple homicide, attempted to take his own life as he realized there was no escape.

The intense search began when police investigations led them to a house in Chikangwe Township, Karoi. However, Tore managed to slip through their grasp, retreating to his rural home. Determined to bring him to justice, villagers and law enforcement scoured the area relentlessly.

On February 23, at approximately 5:45 p.m., sharp-eyed villagers spotted Tore concealed in dense brush just a kilometer from his homestead. As the net closed in, Tore inflicted multiple wounds on himself using an okapi knife, stabbing his chest four times and his neck twice in a desperate suicide attempt.

Villagers swiftly apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the authorities. Tore received initial medical attention at Chitindiva Clinic before being transferred to Karoi District Hospital, where he remains under armed police guard.

The shocking turn of events has left the Karoi community reeling, with residents lauding the collaboration between police and civilians that ultimately led to Tore’s capture. As investigations continue, authorities are working to ensure justice is served for the tragic triple murder that has shaken the region.

Temporary Teachers Return

Govt Allows Parents to Hire Temporary Teachers Amid Critical Shortage in ECD and Science Subjects

Harare, Zimbabwe — In a significant move to address the acute shortage of teachers in critical subject areas, the Government of Zimbabwe has granted parents the green light to employ temporary teachers for Early Childhood Development (ECD) and science subjects. This interim measure aims to fill the gap while awaiting the recruitment of 8,000 permanent educators by the Public Service Commission (PSC) this year.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, which has been vocal about the teacher deficit in schools, has prioritized ECD, science, and mathematics as the most affected areas. According to Deputy Minister Angeline Gata, School Development Committees (SDCs) have been authorized to engage relief teachers where financial resources permit.

“As a ministry, we have gone public on the shortage of teachers at ECD and other science learning areas. We have even extended that to other levels and grades experiencing critical shortages,” Deputy Minister Gata stated during a parliamentary Question and Answer session.

The initiative allows SDCs to employ what are referred to as “para-professional teachers” on a temporary basis. These relief educators will serve until the PSC completes its deployment of qualified teachers to the affected schools. Deputy Minister Gata emphasized that the Government would not interfere with the contractual agreements between schools and the temporary educators.

“The contracts of these para-professionals are between the schools and the individuals concerned, and they are only engaged subject to the availability of funds for their remuneration,” she added.

This development is expected to bring much-needed relief to schools struggling with high student-to-teacher ratios, particularly in foundational and technical subjects. The move also highlights the Government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted learning for students across the country.

As the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education continues to push for long-term solutions, the temporary measure will empower communities to take proactive steps in maintaining educational standards.

Pope Francis Condition Explained…

By A Correspondent

Pope Francis remains in critical condition, the Vatican reported, with blood tests revealing mild signs of kidney failure, which are currently being managed. The 88-year-old pontiff continues to fight pneumonia in both lungs.

The Vatican confirmed that, although the pope was hospitalized over a week ago, he has not experienced further respiratory issues since the previous evening. Some of his blood tests show early, mild kidney failure, but the situation is under control. The pope is also said to be “vigilant and well-oriented.”

Francis is still receiving oxygen, but he participated in the Holy Mass on Sunday morning from a special apartment on the 10th floor of Gemelli Hospital, where he has been receiving care. The medical staff attending to him also joined in the Mass.

Due to the complexity of his condition and the wait for the effects of ongoing treatments, the Vatican has stated that the prognosis remains uncertain.

Earlier in the day, the Vatican revealed that the pope had received a high flow of oxygen after experiencing a respiratory crisis but had a restful night in the hospital. He was unable to lead the weekly Angelus prayer for the third time in his nearly 12-year papacy.

In his sermon, which was distributed to the press, Pope Francis expressed his gratitude to the medical team for their dedication as he continues his treatment.

Admitted to a Rome clinic on February 14 for tests related to a respiratory tract infection, the pope was later diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs after a CT scan.

Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt, a urologist from Orlando Health Medical Group, commented on the pope’s kidney condition, telling CNN that the update shouldn’t cause alarm. “It’s not necessarily anything significant, but we can tell his condition remains critical,” Brahmbhatt said. “The kidneys are delicate but resilient organs.”

He explained that infections, particularly in older adults, can quickly escalate, leading to sepsis, which may damage multiple organs, including the kidneys. “In Pope Francis’ case, this has resulted in mild renal failure, which can either improve with treatment or potentially cause permanent damage,” he added.

Chamisa Slams Mnangagwa For Manipulating Zimbabweans With False Narratives

By Tinashe Sambiri

Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government of manipulating Zimbabwean citizens through “blue lies” in a bid to maintain control.

Speaking out against what he described as desperate tactics by the current regime, Chamisa urged citizens to remain strong and resilient in the face of ongoing challenges.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Chamisa criticized the government’s efforts to deceive the public, claiming that when those in power cannot manipulate or control the people, they resort to spreading lies.

“When they can’t control or manipulate you they start to lie about you,” Chamisa said, underscoring his belief that the Mnangagwa administration is willing to use deceit as a tool for maintaining its authority.

Chamisa’s comments come as Zimbabwe continues to face significant economic and political turmoil. With the country grappling with high inflation, unemployment, and widespread poverty, the opposition leader warned that the government is increasingly relying on false narratives to maintain its hold on power.

Despite the government’s rhetoric, Chamisa urged citizens to stay true to their values and not succumb to manipulation.

“Keep strong. Stay pure and incorruptible,” he said, encouraging people to resist efforts to undermine their integrity. He ended his statement with a hopeful note, saying, “Blessed Sunday,” urging his supporters to find strength and optimism in difficult times.

The term “blue lies” implies a deliberate distortion of truth by those in power, often intended to serve the interests of the ruling regime.

It reflects his belief that Mnangagwa’s government is not only failing to address the country’s pressing issues but is also engaging in deceitful tactics to divert attention from its shortcomings.

As tensions continue to rise, Chamisa’s call for unity and resilience serves as a rallying cry for those dissatisfied with the current state of affairs in Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa’s 2030 Agenda Tears Apart Nation

By A Correspondent

Tensions have escalated within Zimbabwe’s political landscape as supporters of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, particularly the online movement Varakashi4ED, rally behind the Vision 2030 agenda while defending key figures within the government from criticism.

On Monday, the National Chairman of Varakashi4ED, Godwin Nkatha, addressed the growing controversy surrounding the party’s National Legal Affairs Secretary, Patrick Chinamasa.

Nkatha took to social media to urge Zimbabweans to engage in respectful dialogue rather than disrespectful attacks on political figures, emphasizing the importance of unity in achieving the country’s long-term goals.

“I would like to address the recent discourse surrounding our National Legal Affairs Secretary Cde Patrick Chinamasa,” Nkatha said. “While it is important to express differing viewpoints, I believe it is equally crucial to engage in constructive dialogue rather than resorting to disrespectful insults.”

Chinamasa, who has played a central role in Zimbabwean politics for decades, has been at the center of the criticism. As a former Finance Minister, his leadership during difficult economic periods has been both praised and criticized. Nkatha defended Chinamasa’s track record, noting that his contributions to Zimbabwe’s political and economic landscape should not be undermined by personal attacks.

“Patrick Chinamasa, with his decades of experience in Zimbabwean politics, has contributed significantly to our nation’s journey,” Nkatha asserted. “As a former Finance Minister, he played a pivotal role during challenging economic times, navigating complexities that required considerable expertise. His efforts to stabilize our economy, particularly during turbulent periods, should not be overshadowed by personal attacks or attempts to tarnish his reputation.”

Nkatha emphasized that criticism aimed at leadership, especially from within, could have long-lasting and detrimental effects. “Criticism aimed at leadership, especially from within, can have far-reaching consequences. It can undermine the very foundations of unity and progress we strive to build,” he warned.

The tension stems from ongoing debates within the political sphere regarding the Vision 2030 initiative, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe’s economy and improve the quality of life for all citizens. Nkatha stressed that the Vision 2030 initiative represents hope for many Zimbabweans and that it should be supported with collaborative effort and constructive engagement.

“Our focus should be on fostering collaboration, respecting diverse opinions, and coming together to support the Vision 2030 agenda,” Nkatha urged. “Discrediting individuals, particularly those who have dedicated their lives to public service, detracts from the collective effort required to realize our goals.”

With divisions becoming more apparent, Nkatha called for an approach rooted in respect and unity, highlighting the necessity for dialogue in resolving differences and working toward a common purpose.

“Let us remember that the strength of our leadership lies in its ability to embrace dialogue, listen to different perspectives, and work towards a common purpose,” he concluded. “I urge everyone to reflect on the impact of our words and actions, and to strive for a more respectful and unified approach as we move forward.”

As Zimbabwe inches closer to 2030, the future of the Vision 2030 initiative appears to hinge not only on economic strategies but on the ability of leaders and citizens alike to engage in meaningful, respectful discussions for the betterment of the nation.

The Importance of Buckling Up: A Life-Saving Habit for Every Traveller

No matter where your journey takes you – whether it’s a short drive across town or a long road trip – one of the most essential safety precautions is often the simplest: wearing a seatbelt. Buckling up, both for yourself and ensuring your passengers do the same, is a habit that can save lives.

Seatbelts are designed to keep you secure in the event of an accident, significantly reducing the risk of injury or fatality. In fact, studies have consistently shown that wearing a seatbelt can reduce the risk of death by up to 45%. In a crash, the force exerted on the body can be catastrophic, but a seatbelt helps to distribute the impact forces over stronger parts of your body, such as the pelvis and rib cage, minimizing the chance of serious injury.

This simple action also affects the safety of those around you. Passengers, especially children, need to be properly secured to prevent harm. It’s essential to use the appropriate car seats for younger children and ensure everyone in the car is properly fastened.

While it may be tempting to skip the seatbelt for a quick drive, the statistics show that many accidents happen close to home.

Even a few seconds of neglect can result in life-altering consequences. A car crash can happen in the blink of an eye, but the choice to buckle up is one that can make all the difference.

So, always remember – no matter where you’re traveling, buckle up. It’s a small step that can save a life.

Rightlander’s ‘Trackback’ Compliance Solution Integrates with Awin’s MasterTag

Rightlander has taken a significant step forward in affiliate marketing oversight with the introduction of a one-click integration between its Trackback compliance solution and Awin’s MasterTag. The collaboration aims to increase efficiency, compliance, and brand safety for advertisers, presenting a seamless pathway to monitor and analyze affiliate traffic. It also underscores the growing importance of technology-driven solutions that empower brands to adapt to evolving regulations in various sectors.

Founded on the principle of providing in-depth compliance and monitoring services, Rightlander is recognized for its capacity to streamline marketing oversight through intelligent data gathering. By partnering with Awin, one of the largest affiliate networks, Rightlander gains access to a broad pool of advertisers that rely on Awin’s MasterTag to manage their affiliate programs and connections. This technological merger eliminates the need for separate or multiple integrations, saving both time and resources for businesses that are seeking more automated solutions.

Advertisers using Awin can implement Rightlander’s platform within their existing MasterTag setup, enabling deep visibility into the sources of online traffic. Through the use of tracking IDs, geographic data, and real-time monitoring, Rightlander’s system simplifies the process of detecting non-compliant content and ensuring adherence to local and international regulations. According to Ian Sims, Founder of Rightlander, the timing of this collaboration is critical in the face of ongoing industry changes.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Awin and the opportunity to enhance compliance monitoring for their clients. The evolving landscape of affiliate marketing presents significant challenges, particularly with the increasing complexity of regulations across various sectors,” said Sims.

This landscape includes increasing scrutiny from regulators and a wide variety of rules that differ by region, especially in verticals like finance, iGaming, and health. Advertisers in these spaces face growing pressure to maintain oversight of their partners’ promotional methods. Additionally, consistent brand messaging is crucial to maintaining customer trust and avoiding reputational risks.

Sims emphasized how the integration brings added value to both advertisers and their marketing teams. “Our collaboration with Awin enables us to provide powerful tools that help brands efficiently build and scale compliant affiliate programs while ensuring their marketing practices align with regulatory standards. By integrating our solutions into the MasterTag, we are also empowering advertisers to gain deeper insights into their traffic sources and affiliate activities, ultimately driving growth while safeguarding brand integrity.”

The mechanics behind this integration involve a streamlined approach to data gathering. The system’s tracking features collect affiliate IDs, source URLs, and key metrics that help brands evaluate the integrity and effectiveness of each publisher within their network. Brands can leverage these data points to refine compliance strategies and pinpoint regions or affiliates that may require more rigorous oversight. This targeted approach allows for localized adherence to regulations, reducing the likelihood of penalties or brand misalignment.

Moreover, the collaboration simplifies a previously time-consuming task: manual audits. Before such technologies existed, marketing teams often spent countless hours reviewing website content, social media ads, and email campaigns for signs of non-compliance. With the Rightlander–Awin MasterTag solution, these checks become automated, freeing up hours for more strategic efforts like campaign optimization and relationship-building with top-performing affiliates.

This focus on efficiency is central to why so many companies are turning to integrated technologies. In addition to regulatory peace of mind, advertisers benefit from data-driven analytics that can inform competitor comparisons and drive smarter market entry decisions. By centralizing compliance checks under one roof, marketers have a more unified view of their programs, allowing them to make well-informed adjustments that improve performance while remaining risk-averse.

Eric Laughlin, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Awin, highlighted how the partnership aligns with Awin’s goals. “Integrating Rightlander into our MasterTag enhances our ability to carry out publisher audits based on individual advertiser requirements. This partnership allows our client teams to perform important compliance checks more efficiently, freeing up time for strategy and account management.”

From a broader perspective, this integration demonstrates the affiliate industry’s ongoing shift toward stronger accountability. As consumer data privacy and internet advertising regulations become more robust worldwide, brands are expected to remain vigilant about their partners’ promotional strategies. Solutions such as Rightlander’s ‘Trackback’ integrated with Awin’s MasterTag set new standards by making best practices more readily accessible, especially for brands operating in multiple geographic markets.

Advertisers looking to stay ahead of the regulatory curve can find substantial value in systems that produce actionable intelligence with minimal complexity. Reduced time spent on audits, real-time notifications on non-compliance, and detailed reports that segment traffic by region all contribute to a healthier and more transparent affiliate environment. This level of oversight also helps maintain consumer trust, serving as a fundamental building block for sustainable growth in the competitive digital space.

Chamisa Accuses Mnangagwa of Manipulating Citizens Through ‘Blue Lies’

Government Incompetence Exposed as Chiredzi Residents Rely on South African Networks…

By A Correspondent

The incompetence of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has once again been called into question as residents of Chiredzi continue to rely on South African mobile networks due to the failure of local networks to provide service.

The government has been widely criticized for its inability to address the growing communications crisis in rural areas, particularly in Chiredzi. “In rural areas, especially Chiredzi, residents in areas like Chilothlela, Davata, Madzanda, and Sango Border Post are forced to use South African networks,” said an opposition official on Sunday.

This situation highlights the government’s failure to ensure adequate mobile network coverage in these communities.

At present, there are only nine base stations servicing Chiredzi Rural, including locations like Chilonga, Chikombedzi, Boli, Pahlela, Gezani, Makhanani, Malipati, Sango Border Post, and Chikwalakwala.

These stations, however, have proven to be inadequate for the needs of the growing population.

Despite the growing demand for reliable mobile communication, the government’s failure to invest in the necessary infrastructure has left many residents with no choice but to depend on South African networks, a situation that underscores the government’s gross inefficiency.

Fact Checking Claim Geza’s Been Given $5 million and Chamisa’s Been Given Title Deeds of 2 Houses.

  • UPDATED

By Simba Chikanza | ZimEye | I have noticed floating allegations that say that the nation’s firebrand war vet Blessed Geza has been given US$5 million, and the country’s most popular politician Nelson Chamisa has been given two houses, being payments to buy their “silence.”

The first time, when the $5 million talk was sounded to me was the day when Douglas Mwonzora’s CIO aide Agnes tried to make me use it to accuse Nelson Chamisa on 27 Sept 2024. Like a continuous megaphone, she would repeatedly tell me, “Chamisa akapihwa $5 million, taura naChengetai Guta!” The repeating noise was so continuous that I ended up telling her that even if he was given such money, “no one would believe you or me.” She had no document, no receipt and no picture evidence to support the claim. Maybe that evidence is there, but it is still to be produced. This time the huge figure is being used to accuse Geza, who has asked Emmerson Mnangagwa to resign.

These are the circumstances under which Agnes invited me to her London home to meet Mwonzora. I refused and chose to rather meet him elsewhere. I had resisted previous requests to meet Mwonzora during his 2023 visit to UK.

What happened soon afterwards on that day was self revelatory- Agnes disclosed that she is a trained CIO officer, and Mwonzora was slapped with a police case for violently seizing property at the Premier Inn Castle Quays hotel and using the Oxford building to harass other people whose political party property he seized with the help of the CIO back in Harare.

The full 16 min video footage is available.

Two days later Mwonzora’s spokesperson Chengetai Guta was unmasked as a CIO agent following a spaces discussion on X.

FULL VIDEO LOADING BELOW…

Five months later, the people accusing Chamisa of the 5 million claim are still to produce evidence that he received a dollar from them or the state. Evidence that has emerged in the form of not only documents but full colour CCTV footage is that instead of giving Chamisa or anyone any money, the three of them are actually taking away both money and property from other people. It is now a police case. Mwonzora is now ordered to return keys of room 417 and the keys of the owners of Harvest House building premises he used the Premier Inn Banbury premises to harass.

Gifford Gomwe

At the time when they are simply supposed to return the keys to these properties and the political entity Mwonzora grabbed from Chamisa he now claims to own, the $5 million accusation has resurfaced, this time as it is used on Blessed Geza, the nation’s second most popular influencer after Chamisa.

Nelson Chamisa – file pic

The allegation-authors want people to believe that Chamisa has been paid with two properties whose addresses are not known? Strange.

It could easily be true that the allegations this time are real. But the claims are once again as of the 24th Feb 2025 worse than anecdotal. There is no document, no date, and neither any source to reference in the allegation which is very frustrating.

What makes things worse is the allegation author’s failure to obtain a comment or the most basic conversation to continue the talk over what Geza is said to have received. Anyone who has been handed a sudden gush of $5 million can be easily trapped in a follow up conversation at any time.

I have contacted both Geza and Chamisa, as I tried to do what the accusing bloggers should have done. Still there is nothing. Sad.

Two more claims have gone viral, which accuse the other man recently fired by ZANU PF Mash West together with Geza, Gifford Gomwe. Gomwe is the Mash West ZANU PF official who is also the brother of Godwin pictured in a viral photograph with Geza last week. The post accuses Gomwe of things he has not done, allegations that might soon get him arrested.

Now comes the allegation that Chamisa is now silent, and that Geza has gone mute. Have they?

Blessed Geza

I shall start with Chamisa. Social media claims say Chamisa is on sabbatical leave since losing his party to Tshabangu early last year. However these claims are without both content and context. Chamisa simply upgraded his methods of fighting Mnangagwa to the most efficient mechanism. After losing the ballot contest because Mnangagwa used bullets, he shifted to Bible Missiles. This technique has worked worldwide for thousands of years in taking over countries and continents where other means have failed, and letters by King Leopold of Belgium are clear that the technique works. I have used Bible in my investigative journalism and many times I joke my that I almost took over a neighbouring country in 2023. A presidential contestant and former Foreign Affairs Minister of Zambia Harry Kalaba is on national television confessing that I controlled his life for a whole month in Aug 2023 using scriptures.

Has Geza gone quiet? Let’s get facts clear: statements uttered by the war vet as still in date and he appears on schedule since the issuing of a statement by an anonymous military personnel on 3 Feb 2025.

People must try to read and study what’s being sent to their mobile phones because so much can be created to distract people from the truth.- ZimEye

Another Chigananda Caught In US$2.3 Million Fraud

By Munacho Gwamanda-President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s investment adviser to the United Arab Emirates, Paul Tungwarara, has been implicated in a US$2.3 million fraud case, adding to a growing list of Mnangagwa’s business associates accused of financial misconduct.

ZimLive reports that Tungwarara, leveraging his political connections, allegedly swindled an Indian businessman, Razaa Jishan, through fraudulent property sales and unfulfilled promises of work permits and gaming licenses.

His case mirrors that of convicted fraudster Wicknell Chivhayo, another controversial figure with close ties to Mnangagwa, who was recently exposed in a fresh looting spree.

Jishan, 30, had plans to establish a gaming business in Harare and was introduced to Tungwarara, who presented himself as a director of Prevail International.

He produced a board resolution authorizing him to sell Stand Number 3 Tyward Close, Ballantyne Park, in the Highlands suburb.

Between October and December 2022, Jishan paid US$1.3 million in five instalments for the property.

In addition, Tungwarara secured contracts to construct offices (US$550,000) and a septic tank (US$99,000) and was givenUS$150,000 to facilitate a gaming license.

He further promised to secure 450 work permits for Indian workers under Jishan’s company, Rod Cell Incorporated.

Tungwarara’s deception extended beyond real estate. Jishan reported that he relied on Tungwarara for internet services, only for the businessman to use this dependency as leverage.

“Each time he wanted money, he would threaten to switch off our internet, and several times he did, only restoring it after I paid,” Jishan told police.

The fraud unravelled when Jishan attempted to complete the property transfer, discovering that Hopsick Investments, not Tungwarara, owned the land.

The offices, gaming licenses, and work permits never materialized. In February 2023, Tungwarara forcibly locked Jishan and his workers out of the property.

A month later, he escalated his actions by arriving with armed men and ordering everyone to vacate. In total, Jishan lost US$2,294,000.

Tungwarara has a history of alleged fraud.

In 2019, he borrowed US$350,000 from Jospher Chibisa under false pretenses of holding State House construction tenders but only repaid US$64,500.

Chibisa’s police complaint disappeared under suspicious circumstances.

Tungwarara’s company, Paulos Construction, was also awarded a tender to build a State House perimeter wall, but the Ministry of Finance rejected his US$15 million invoice.

Nevertheless, he continues to secure lucrative contracts, including the controversial “presidential borehole scheme,” where he has been distributing cash to war veterans in Mnangagwa’s name to bolster political support.

Tungwarara’s fraudulent dealings mirror those of Wicknell Chivhayo, another Mnangagwa ally.

Over the weekend, Chivhayo was reported to have traveled to Kenya, allegedly to deliver illicit funds tied to his murky operations.

His close ties to Mnangagwa have long raised concerns, as he benefits from questionable government contracts while flaunting an extravagant lifestyle on social media.

Chivhayo’s recent meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto has further fueled speculation about his cross-border dealings.

Critics argue that his ability to access influential leaders underscores Mnangagwa’s deep patronage network.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has been vocal in his criticism, warning that Mnangagwa’s business runners, whom he calls Zvigananda (bootlickers), will face legal consequences if he assumes power in 2028.

Despite mounting allegations, Mnangagwa has publicly defended Chivhayo.

When pressed about their association, he dismissed concerns, saying, “If there is anyone who has lost money to Chivhayo, they should report him to the police.”

However, police were already aware of multiple complaints against him when Mnangagwa appointed him as a special presidential investment adviser in November 2023.

Meanwhile, Tungwarara has emerged as a key figure in Mnangagwa’s bid to extend his rule beyond 2028, despite constitutional limits.

He has been actively using state resources to garner support, launching borehole projects for war veterans and distributing high-end smartphones to journalists to promote Mnangagwa’s propaganda campaign, EDWORKS.

Reports indicate that 32 journalists, mostly from the state media, now receive a US$300 monthly stipend for endorsing Mnangagwa’s leadership.

Chivhayo In Fresh Looting Spree

By Munacho Gwamanda-Convicted fraudster and controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo has once again landed in the spotlight amid allegations of engaging in clandestine dealings on behalf of the Zimbabwean leader.

This weekend, Chivayo reportedly traveled to Kenya, allegedly to deliver another tranche of illicit funds linked to his murky business operations.

Sources familiar with Chivayo’s close ties to President Emmerson Mnangagwa revealed that the businessman’s recent trip to Nairobi was part of a broader network of questionable financial activities.

“Wicknell Chivayo traveled to Kenya this afternoon with his fiancée to deliver yet another ‘loot.’ Based on the flight history of his private jet, it’s clear that he has been quite busy, frequently flying in and out of Zimbabwe, conducting his usual ‘runner’ business,” a source disclosed.

Chivayo’s relationship with Mnangagwa has long been a subject of public controversy, with the businessman benefiting from lucrative government contracts under questionable circumstances.

His extravagant lifestyle, flaunted on social media, has fueled speculation about his role as a financial conduit for the ruling elite.

Recently, Chivayo made headlines when he was photographed with Kenyan President William Ruto, a move that raisedfurther questions about the nature of his dealings in Kenya.

The meeting sparked concerns that Chivayo could be leveraging high-profile political connections beyond Zimbabwe to secure and facilitate illicit financial transactions.

Critics argue that his ability to gain access to influential figures such as Ruto underscores the extent of his influence and the reach of Mnangagwa’s patronage network.

However, not everyone within Zimbabwe’s ruling party has been supportive of Chivayo’s activities.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga recently denounced him for exploiting his links with the First Family to engage in corruption.

Without mentioning Chivayo by name, Chiwenga warned Mnangagwa’s inner circle, whom he disparagingly referred to as Zvigananda (bootlickers), that their time was running out.

He further hinted that some of them could face jail time if he assumes the presidency in 2028, signaling intensifyingfactional tensions within ZANU-PF.

Despite mounting criticism, Mnangagwa has continued to defend Chivayo.

When pressed by journalists about his association with the businessman, Mnangagwa dismissed concerns, stating, “If there is anyone who has lost money to Chivayo, they should report him to the police.”

His remarks did little to quell suspicions, with many interpreting them as a tacit endorsement of Chivayo’s dealings.

Uebert Angel Threatens Malawians Saying No One Wins Elections After Dis-Respecting Maynard’s Boss, Shepherd Bushiri

Lilongwe, Malawi – February 24, 2025

By A Correspondent | The GoldMafia implicated preacher and so called “presidential envoy,” Uebert Angel has issued threatening statements directed at Malawian political leaders during a birthday celebration for his “spiritual son,” Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, who is currently a fugitive from fraud charges.

Speaking to a gathering that included prominent political figures, Angel, who has previously faced criticism for holding a fake degree, declared that only candidates who honor Bushiri would emerge victorious in the upcoming elections.

His ‘prophecy’ comes at a time he is still to identify the Al Jazeera journalists who filmed him in the explosive GoldMafia investigation 4 years ago.

The prediction also comes at a time when Angel cannot return to his home in the United Kingdom ever since the Gold Mafia documentary was broadcast in 2023 just as he says he will be killed upon entering the United Kingdom.

Bold Claims and Election Meddling

Angel’s statements raised serious concerns about election integrity and undue religious influence in politics. “I think it’s elections. When? When is elections? September? So I’m here to tell you who will win so that we don’t have any problems,” he said. “And how many know I don’t miss, yeah, so I know for sure…The one who honors Shepherd Bushiri is going to win.”

These remarks were made in the presence of Malawi’s Vice President and other dignitaries, adding a layer of complexity to an already tense political climate. Angel suggested that those who “ate from our plate” at the event had a “case to answer,” implying that loyalty to Bushiri would be a determining factor in electoral success.

Education Claims and Questionable Credentials

During his speech, Angel emphasized his supposed academic achievements, stating, “I know this because I’m learned. I went to school, I read a few things.” However, his educational credentials have been widely questioned at a time they are chamioned by the two’s spokesman Maynard Manyowa. Angel continues to hold a fake degree.

Angel went on to assert that ‘Prophet’ Shepherd Bushiri was Malawi’s greatest export, surpassing even the country’s agricultural products. “Everywhere we go, you come from where? Malawi. Do you know Malawi? Yeah. Do you know Africa? Yeah, yeah. You know Bushiri,” he claimed.

Coercion and Manipulation?

The speech, filled with religious overtones and prophetic declarations, included a not-so-subtle warning to political leaders. Angel criticized the lack of honor given to Bushiri within Malawi, contrasting it with his recognition abroad.

“I implore that we create an atmosphere where we honor the Son of the soil, Prophet Bushiri, even as we from around the world have already honored him. So whosoever is winning the next election here is who is winning? The one who honors Shepherd Bushiri is going to win,” he stated.

Public and Political Reactions

The speech has elicited strong reactions from both the public and political analysts. Many have called Angel’s comments a blatant attempt to influence the electoral process through spiritual manipulation.

Political analyst Thoko Banda commented, “This is not just an overstep; it’s a dangerous precedent. Using religious influence to dictate political outcomes undermines democratic principles and could lead to unrest.”

What’s Next for Malawi?

As the nation approaches its elections in September, concerns over external and spiritual influences on political processes are mounting. The Malawian Electoral Commission has yet to comment on Angel’s remarks, but civil society groups are calling for transparency and accountability.

With Angel’s bold proclamation that only those who honor Bushiri will win, Malawi’s political landscape has entered uncharted waters, raising questions about the role of religious figures in democratic governance.

More updates will follow as this story develops.

Poor Drainage System Puts Residents’ Lives In Danger

By A Correspondent

A sudden and unexpected surge of water from Ran Mine in Bindura sent shockwaves through the Chipadze community on Friday morning, sparking concerns about potential contamination and health risks.

The chaos unfolded after heavy rains pounded Bindura on Thursday night, causing floodwaters to overflow into homes and churches in Chipadze. Residents were caught off guard, and many expressed fears about contamination, given the water’s origin from the nearby mine.

Eyewitnesses described the terrifying scene, recounting how the water suddenly gushed from the mine’s dam, flooding the church and nearby homes. “This happened around 3 am, and we were shocked to see water flowing from the mine,” a concerned resident said. “We’ve lived here for years and never seen anything like this. Where will we get drinking water? How will we bathe?”

The incident has exposed the government’s incompetence in addressing the country’s poor drainage systems. The lack of proper infrastructure has left residents vulnerable to flooding and potential health risks.

In response to concerns about chemical contamination, Ran Mine’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Jack Murehwa, reassured residents that the mine’s location on a hill means the water is primarily run-off. He added that tests have been conducted, and no contamination has been detected.

The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) has intervened, with its spokesperson telling state media that the agency is working with stakeholders to address safety concerns. “We’re working together to neutralize the affected area,” the spokesperson said.

However, the incident has raised questions about the government’s ability to provide basic services, including proper drainage systems. The poor state of infrastructure has left many communities vulnerable to flooding and other disasters.

As the community struggles to come to terms with the sudden flooding, concerns about the poor drainage system and potential health risks linger. Residents are calling for urgent action to prevent similar incidents in the future and for the government to take responsibility for its incompetence in addressing the country’s infrastructure challenges.

SA Load Shedding Now At Stage 6

Minister of Energy Apologizes as South Africa Faces

Pretoria, Gauteng – February 24, 2025

South Africa’s Minister of Energy and Electricity, Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, has issued a public apology to South Africans as the nation faces intensified power cuts under Stage 6 load shedding. Addressing the media on Sunday morning in Pretoria, Ramokgopa expressed deep regret over the setbacks that have led to the current energy crisis.

“Please accept our sincerest apologies. With the greatest level of humility, I want to say to the country that we regret that there is a setback,” Ramokgopa stated, emphasizing the ministry’s awareness of the public’s frustration and hardship.

The apology follows Eskom’s announcement that Stage 6 load shedding would continue due to multiple trips at Camden Power Station. The national power utility has not yet provided a timeline for when the situation will improve.

Technical Issues at Power Stations

Ramokgopa explained that the Energy Ministry remains guided by the Energy Action Plan unveiled by President Cyril Ramaphosa in July 2022. He acknowledged the severity of the current crisis, noting a significant setback on February 1, 2025, following over 300 days of uninterrupted electricity supply.

The minister revealed that five generation units were lost at Majuba Power Station, Eskom’s second-largest power plant. “This resulted in us initiating Stage 3 load shedding to allow us to replenish the reserves, to allow the team to understand what the root cause was at Majuba, and have an appreciation of how long it will take for us to return those units.”

The situation worsened early Sunday morning when four units were lost at Camden Power Station, prompting the escalation to Stage 6. “The constellation of that resulted in us upping the levels of load shedding to Stage 6. We have been able to record some successes in return of the units,” Ramokgopa added.

No Sabotage Involved

Amid swirling rumors, Ramokgopa dismissed allegations of sabotage at the power stations. “I have heard several queries regarding some underhand activities. I want to say to the rest of the country; that this is a technical issue. We must not find any reason to manufacture explanations of why we are at Stage 6. There is no sabotage.”

Financial Impact and the Way Forward

The minister acknowledged the broader impact of load shedding on South Africa’s economy and promised that the ministry would work tirelessly to resolve the crisis. He stressed the financial strain load shedding imposes on the country and reiterated the government’s commitment to finding a lasting solution.

“On the agitation, anger, disappointment that the country is registering, we should not accept load shedding at any Stage…We have made decisions that are in the interest of the great…We understand the anger; we feel your pain; we can hear your cries. We will resolve this problem,” Ramokgopa vowed.

Eskom has advised citizens to monitor load shedding schedules and conserve electricity where possible. More updates are expected as the situation unfolds.

Mnangagwa Praises Self For Rebuilding Collapsing Economy

By A Correspondent

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the leader of Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party, took the opportunity on Friday to highlight what he described as his government’s remarkable achievements in nation-building. Speaking at the National Youth Day Commemoration event in Bulawayo, Mnangagwa delivered a powerful address, urging Zimbabwe’s youth to contribute positively to the country’s growth and unity.

“We are walking the talk,” Mnangagwa declared, stressing that the government was not just making promises but delivering tangible progress. He emphasized that the government’s vision was clear and centered on inclusion and development for all citizens. “We are leaving no one behind,” he added, signaling his administration’s commitment to national unity and progress.

During his speech, Mnangagwa urged the youth to safeguard the values that have shaped Zimbabwe’s society. “I urge you to guard jealously the long-standing tradition of unity, solidarity, and co-existence,” he said, calling on young people to cherish the bonds that hold the nation together. The president also pointed out the critical role that youth play in shaping the future of Zimbabwe, as well as the broader African continent. “The prosperity and future of our region and continent is in your hands,” he remarked, reinforcing the idea that the youth are the key to both Zimbabwe’s and Africa’s success.

Mnangagwa placed significant importance on the Day itself, which was dedicated to recognizing the potential of the youth. He appealed directly to them: “I expect you to deliver,” as he emphasized the need for young people to channel their energy and enthusiasm into national development. “Continue to ensure that your zeal and energy are harnessed for national development,” Mnangagwa urged.

In his speech, the president highlighted the importance of unity within Zimbabwe’s diverse society, declaring, “In our diversity, we are one people, tiri vanhu vamwe,” which translates to “we are one people.” This message resonated with the audience as he called for national cohesion amid the country’s ethnic and cultural differences.

Mnangagwa also commended the youth for their growing awareness of the nation’s rich history and the vision for the future. “I commend you for the consciousness you have for our rich history and the future we are marching towards,” he said, acknowledging the younger generation’s sense of purpose.

However, Mnangagwa also warned against external and internal forces seeking to undermine the country’s unity and progress. “Resist and reject the machinations of those who want to divide you and divide our nation,” he cautioned, stressing that the unity of the nation must be preserved at all costs.

While the president’s speech was met with applause from his supporters, critics have accused Mnangagwa of grandstanding, claiming that his statements are often more about rhetoric than substance. Detractors argue that, despite the lofty promises, many of the issues facing Zimbabweans, particularly the youth, remain unresolved. Nevertheless, Mnangagwa’s remarks at the National Youth Day Commemoration signal a continued focus on his administration’s efforts to promote national unity and development, even as political challenges and divisions persist.

As the nation moves forward, Mnangagwa’s call for the youth to embrace their potential and work toward national progress remains a central theme in his government’s narrative.

Transparency International Exposes Zim Corruption Crisis

By A Correspondent

Zimbabwe has been designated the most corrupt nation in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for 2024, according to the latest findings from Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).

The country’s ranking has worsened, reaching its lowest point since 2015, when it made headlines for the infamous missing US$15 billion in diamond revenues.

The CPI, which assesses the perceived level of corruption in the public sector, gives Zimbabwe a score of 21, a decline of 3 points from the previous year.

This puts Zimbabwe at 158th out of 180 countries globally. The scale of the CPI ranges from 0, indicating highly corrupt, to 100, which signifies a very clean and transparent public sector.

Zimbabwe’s low score reflects an ongoing struggle with corruption, as the country continues to grapple with issues such as bribery, embezzlement of public funds, and a lack of accountability among government officials.

These elements, which the CPI measures, include the misuse of public office for personal gain, excessive bureaucracy, nepotism, and the diversion of public resources for private benefit.

In addition to the internal factors, Zimbabwe’s ranking has been influenced by a lack of stringent anti-corruption mechanisms.

The country continues to face challenges in enforcing laws that require public officials to disclose financial information, provide protection for whistleblowers, and ensure access to government data.

As a result, Zimbabwe’s public sector remains opaque, hindering efforts to combat systemic corruption.

Despite slight improvements in the years following 2015, Zimbabwe’s performance has once again declined, reversing the gains it made in previous years. The highest score in recent years was recorded in 2023, with a score of 24, but the country has since slipped back into the bottom ranks.

In a broader African context, Zimbabwe now ranks among the top 10 most corrupt countries on the continent, alongside war-torn nations such as Sudan, Somalia, and Libya. Africa continues to dominate the lower end of the global CPI, with the continent accounting for the majority of the world’s most corrupt nations. In particular, countries affected by conflict, authoritarianism, and weak governance institutions consistently receive low scores.

Globally, Denmark has maintained its position as the least corrupt country, holding the top spot on the CPI for the seventh year in a row with a score of 90. Finland and Singapore follow closely behind with scores of 88 and 84, respectively. On the other end of the spectrum, war-torn and politically unstable nations occupy the bottom ranks, with South Sudan, Somalia, and Venezuela at the very bottom. Other countries in the bottom 10 include Syria, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Libya, Yemen, Nicaragua, Sudan, and North Korea.

The latest data from Transparency International underscores the continued struggles many countries face in addressing corruption. For Zimbabwe, the country’s corruption problem remains a significant barrier to political and economic stability, with widespread consequences for governance, development, and the lives of ordinary citizens.

As the 2024 CPI highlights, tackling corruption in Zimbabwe will require a concerted effort to strengthen governance structures, enforce anti-corruption laws, and ensure greater transparency in both the public and private sectors. Until such reforms are put in place, the nation’s ranking is unlikely to improve.

CIO Agent Jailed For Fraud

By A Correspondent

Walter Makwalo, a 34-year-old Senior State Security Aide, has been convicted of 17 counts of fraud by the Harare Magistrates’ Court.

He was found guilty of impersonating the Officer Commanding Operations for the CIO Southern Region.

Between early 2023 and September 2023, Makwalo deceived Simon George Lee, a 40-year-old Harare-based farmer, by claiming he could facilitate the arrest, detention, and prosecution of Maurizio Arezio and Gabriel Arezio, who were allegedly involved in defrauding Lee of $170,600.

Makwalo falsely stated that bribes were necessary for police officers, National Prosecuting Authority officials, magistrates, and judges to ensure the case progressed in Lee’s favor. Believing this claim, Lee paid Makwalo a total of $21,300.

The Harare Magistrates’ Court sentenced Makwalo to 24 months in prison.

However, 18 months of the sentence were suspended for five years on the condition of good behavior, and the remaining six months were suspended on the condition that he performs 210 hours of community service.

Uebert Angel Paying Me Thousands, Says Maynard Manyowa, In Shock Confession

Shepherd Bushiri’s spokesman and journalist Maynard Manyowa admits in a lengthy Facebook post that he has been getting thousands of pounds from the GoldMafia implicated preacher Uebert Angel.

Maynard Manyowa and Uebert Angel

The world’s biggest fake degree that Maynard Manyowa will never publish is his funder, the GoldMafia fugitive, Uebert Angel’s and Manyowa is the Official Spokesman for the world’s most notorious fraudcase-fugitive Shepherd Bushiri who’s the most notorious CIO mafia busy strangulating the state security institutions of African countries (Mohadi, DIS of Botswana, and MHS of Malawi), for covering up fake prophesies and money laundering.

The list of graduants

Maynard Manyowa writes in a Facebook post in June 2024 saying in full: For the most part, every person I have written about so far has been angelic in a sense. They have been heaven-like characters who showed up at various stages in my life and helped me become what and who I am today.

Uebert Angel on the list of fake degree awardees

Yet, if the men and a woman I have thanked so far have been angelic in a sense, the subject of this chapter is angelic in name. Really, his name is Uebert Angel Snr.

https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2023/3/23/top-zimbabwe-ambassador-gold-smuggling

I first encountered Uebert Angel in 2012, at his Spirit Embassy church, then holding services at HICC in Harare. I wore spectacles at the time due to persistent and brutal headaches. I routinely missed work at Vantage Holdings because of ill-timed and merciless bouts of Asthma often inflamed by hay fever.

Shepherd Bushiri spokesman… Maynard Manyowa

He prayed for me. It must have been on a hot December afternoon. He declared I should stop wearing specs and that my hay fever wouldn’t be an issue again.

Life happened after that day. I had a son. I moved to South Africa. I became Shepherd Bushiri’s media and tech guy (itself a story for another day) and so forth.

For the purposes of this story, my paths would not cross with Prophet Angel again, until maybe 2017, when we had a brief encounter at SBM Holdings in Sandton – we exchanged handshakes and pleasantries and I went about my business at the office.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16422ViWQy/?mibextid=wwXIfr

In 2018, following repeated challenges online, a line of communication was opened between Angel and myself, facilitated by my father, Prophet Bushiri – in theory, Angel, a mentor and father to my own father became my Grandfather or Grandad, as you may catch me describing him in this piece and elsewhere in my life.

I was quite star struck at the beginning of the relationship. Angel was polite, chatty, endearing and very “fatherly”. He would be interested in simple and rather small details about my life – like my diet, my relationships, my goals, and even my friends.

It was the first time I also encountered his immense generosity. Angel took care of several people in need in South Africa, and would often send me large sums of money to distribute to men, women, children and disabled people.

The first time he gave me this task, he must have sent about R200,000. The list of recipients and corresponding amounts only tallied to about R165,000. When I pointed this out, he said to me, and I can vividly remember, “take R5k for yourself, the rest give your like madam”.

But that wasn’t the generosity alone. You see, the task had given him access to my bank details. And from there, every other fortnight or so, I would wake up with a notification for a deposit. Sometimes it was R10,000, at times it was ten times that. Unsolicited.

On WhatsApp, he would often follow these gifts with advice about investments, savings and responsibilities. If I asked, he always told me “money is one thing I have in abundance and you are my grandson, use it wisely and improve your life and that of those you care about”.

We will return to 2018-19 later. Let me take you back to 2017, where something significant had happened. Nottingham Trent University had offered me a scholarship to study an MA in News Journalism. A very important person in my life, who has chosen not to be mentioned in this series paid £3,000 for me to get the unconditional offer.

However, events in Zimbabwe around that time presented an incredible once in a lifetime opportunity for me as a journalist. Succession was heating up. Mugabe wanted Mnangagwa dead. I had strong military contacts and my publication Khuluma Afrika was the go to for solid “Lacoste” news, as it was called then.

So school took a back seat. I deferred to 2018 and NTU moved me to a Broadcast Journalism course. But, come August, elections happened, so did post-election violence. I was subpoenaed to appear at the commission of enquiry that followed sloted for November meaning I would miss the September start.

So I deferred, amidst more difficulties, like a 2018 church stampede leading to three deaths and protests, a chapter 9 institution summoning PSB leadership and Bushiri himself being arrested in 2019. NTU were clear I could not change my start date anymore and would lose out on the £3,000 deposit and having had two offers withdrawn, my prospects of ever getting a visa would be affected.

However, the same events had been fundamentally life changing in other ways too. My coverage of the military intervention, which went as far as CNBC and Washing Post in the US had increased my stock. I had become a bit of a star. So NTU gave me a very rare £7,500 scholarship.

To attend study I was required to raise about £12,500 in savings. As well as the remainder of my fees (£4,500). The whole visa process including health surcharges cost another £2000. Prophet Angel paid for these.

I also needed a place to stay, as the plan was for one half of my family (at the time) to move with me. Angel paid my rentals for a two bedroom house for a full year in advance. When I landed he gave me £2,000 to buy furniture and another £1500 for bus travel, food and lunch.

I had anticipated that I would have to work for him like I had for my father. I was wrong. Angel wanted me to study first. So while every odd week or so he would drive to Nottingam in his Bentley Mulsanne or Ferrari Portofino to see me, he largely stayed out of my way.

A month into my studies, disaster hit. My wife’s grandmother Georgina, an amazing woman who had loved me so deeply and passionately passed away. It was unexpected and painful. My wife was 9 months pregnant, and had now lost the most important person in her life.

Angel swiftly booked the first available ticket for me so I could attend the funeral. He also prepared a large envelope for me to contribute towards the funeral. My son Kaiyron was also due to be born two weeks after and Angel helped with the final touch ups.

Come December, when we were on semester break, he called me on afternoon and said to me, “You have not met your new born son you.”

Kai had been born on November 29. He was referring to that.

“We should surprise your wife with a Christmas gift. How do you feel about flying back to SA in time for Christmas? And have you ever flown first class?”

By now you have figured what happened next. I spent Christmas and New Year in SA with my family.

Unfortunately covid hit that very period, borders were closed, our learning moved online and life became lonely. My family were holed up in SA, I was stuck in the UK. But I went about my school work diligently, scoring up distinctions and high commendations.

Every other week Angel invited me to his £4m mansion in Lincoln, where we spent several evenings sitting in his jaccuzzi and talking. I believe I am the only person till today who was ever given that much private time and access by the prophet – especially in his home.

I even had my own personal room in his mansion. I had biometric access at the gates. And I was allowed to drive his high end cars. It was during that time I drove a Lambo for the first time, the Ferrari, the Bentley and the Rolls.

When I passed my exams and became a Master of the art of Documentaries, Angel bought me £12,000 Mercedes. At that time, legal problems were also besieging my father, so salaries were sometimes late. Angel took over mine.

When the iPhone 12s were released, he bought me three. One for my wife Mutsa at the time, one for my wife Boipelo, at the time, and one for me. He also bought me a Canon EOS R, some lenses and a MacBook Pro M1.

He was the first to suggest I enroll for a PhD. I chose Bournemouth Uni and he paid £5,000 deposit for it. When lockdown rules were relaxed in December, Angel facilitated my travel to Harare to see the other half of my family.

It was there in 2020 that I contracted covid and ended up in ICU. This was a tough time. Covid was new. Hospitals didn’t know how to handle it. So, my mother and Mutsa were turned away from one hospital after another. Until Dr Mataka took me in. I have written about it before here –

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/local-news/i-caught-coronavirus-twice-bad-22573768.amp

I needed urgent special care, costing upwards of $5,000. Angel stepped in. He paid for everything. I didn’t die.

Although I have spoken mostly about the financial contributions, Angel was more than that to me. We often went on long drives where he asked me about my plans and dreams.

It is why when my documentary about Elliot Mujaji was released on the BBC I dedicated it to him. It is an idea we had spoken about at length. I often pitched my ideas and he gave me his insights.

Unbeknown to many, Angel is actually a very media and tech savy person. He is very good with cameras and scripting. I always joked with him that he could have been a world beating reporter.

Angel was like a mentor. He always picked my calls. He always listened. And he always gave advice. The period between 2019 and 2022 was also quite chaotic in my life.

My father, often in prison or dealing with other matters was not always available as he had been before. Without guidance I often drifted towards my usual propensities of destroying self or others. Angel was my rock.

As is the cycle of life, my relationship with my grandad suffered over personal differences on matters involving others. I was wrong for the most part in how I handled these. I think deep down Angel also knows that having taught me to be a free thinking and independent person, there are times when he failed me too.

But, where we are now cannot take away from what Angel did for me. As a grandson, I did my best to serve him, though I accept I fell shot of his expectations – largely cause he believed in me so much. And dare I say, he actually loved me, plainly and deeply.

It is impossible to ever say I paid him back for what he did for me. Certainly not in a financial sense and moreso in the kind of man I became.

I was a stranger to Angel. A total stranger. What he did for me, changed my life. His investment towards me touches a quarter of a million pounds.

He also really was the only person I had for several years and through very dark times. He opened so many doors for me. He stood as my blood. In his home, I was treated like blood. He loved me like no other.

It can be difficult writing about Angel, let alone reading him being described in glowing terms. I understand this. Uebert Angel is a contrasting and polarising figure. Several people dislike him, and some for valid reasons. It is not my place to go into this.

He is also a man of many shades. He is a televangelist come businessman come political appointee. People describe him as arrogant and abrupt. My experiences are different.

Angel is a straight talker and a sharp shooter. But he is predominantly kind. He really is a nice person. Believe it or not he is humble and caring. Many people that he helped during my time close to him are strangers. Some are even mortal enemies but he helped them anyways.

The purpose of this chapter isn’t to change your opinions on Angel. Your interactions will determine how you view him – although, I must begrudgingly say, he probably doesn’t mind.

I can only speak of his role in my life and the impact he had in it. Angel did incredible things for me and never asked for anything in return. Without him, my life would very, and I mean very much different.

For that, I am eternally grateful. My flowers may not mean much, but here they are, anyway, Grandad!

Mrs Mnangagwa Is An Angel: Zanu PF Masvingo

By A Correspondent

The Zanu PF Masvingo Youths have lavished praise on First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa, hailing her as a philanthropic icon after she facilitated a donation of medical equipment to Zimbabwe. The donation, courtesy of EverX in Sydney, Australia, aims to bolster healthcare for women and children through the Angel of Hope Foundation.

The shipment includes a range of vital medical equipment, such as ultrasound machines, blood collection materials, and mobility aids. According to the Zanu PF Masvingo Youths’ Facebook post, this donation will “enhance hospitals in Harare and rural areas, ensuring better care” ¹.

While the donation is undoubtedly a welcome boost to Zimbabwe’s healthcare system, some critics argue that it is also a savvy political move by Auxillia Mnangagwa.

The First Lady has been accused of using her philanthropic work to score political points and bolster her husband’s administration.

As one source noted, “Her behaviour is far worse than that of Grace Mugabe in the twilight of her late husband’s reign. It’s unsettling that history seems to be repeating itself”

. These criticisms raise important questions about the motivations behind Auxillia Mnangagwa’s philanthropic efforts.

Despite these concerns, the donation has been widely welcomed, and the Zanu PF Masvingo Youths’ tribute to Auxillia Mnangagwa reflects the widespread admiration for her philanthropic work. As the First Lady continues to make headlines for her charitable endeavors, it remains to be seen whether her efforts will be remembered as genuine philanthropy or clever political maneuvering.

Pastor Musindo Nearly Bashed By Women Over Non Payment

Chaos at Rainbow Towers Hotel as Pastor Obadiah Musindo Clashes with Women Over $350 Payment Dispute

Harare, Sunday — A dramatic scene unfolded at the Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare today as Pastor Obadiah Musindo found himself at the center of a confrontation with a group of women said to be demanding $350. The incident, which took place at the hotel’s coffee shop, drew significant attention as bystanders captured footage of the chaotic exchange.

According to Musindo, the altercation began when he met with a former colleague who claimed to be owed $350 by his organization, the Zimbabwe Sex Workers Empowerment And Transformation Association. The woman, who had traveled from Masvingo, alleged the money was related to accommodation expenses under the association’s program for commercial sex workers.

In an exclusive interview, Pastor Musindo explained his version of events: “I was sitting down with a lady, a former colleague, discussing her situation. She mentioned the $350, but it was not me who owed her. It was the organization. Suddenly, she grabbed my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my Galaxy S6. I held onto her, and then other women joined in.”

The situation quickly escalated, with three women reportedly shouting accusations at Musindo, calling him an “abuser of women” and threatening to take him to the police. The pastor expressed disappointment in the response of three Members of Parliament who were present during the incident, accusing them of mishandling the situation.

“These MPs, instead of talking to me to understand what was happening, started pulling me. If you see the video, it does not look good. This happened in a public place where I have an office, and I always ensure I am not alone when meeting women,” Musindo said.

Musindo linked the confrontation to broader political and social issues, mentioning a group chat where individuals discussed protests and made critical remarks about the government and prominent figures such as Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Joice Mujuru.

He also defended his work with the Zimbabwe Sex Workers Empowerment And Transformation Association, stating, “The truth is that Jesus never preached condemnation. We are helping these women, training them, and giving them a chance to rebuild their lives. The money in question was not mine; it was supposed to go through a woman named Mai Makoni.”

Musindo, known for leading the Destiny of Africa Network, reiterated his stance on forgiveness and redemption, emphasizing that his organization focuses on grace, not condemnation.

He said he has cut off ties with preacher Passion Java.

When pressed for answers, he would not disclose what exactly the US$350 payment was for.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many questioning the nature of Musindo’s involvement with the women and his organization’s operations. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the altercation.

As investigations continue, the public awaits clarity on the unfolding drama at one of Harare’s most prominent hotels.

Tungwarara Accused Of Swindling Indian Businessman US$2.3 Million In Botched Property Deal

HARARE – President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s investment adviser to the United Arab Emirates swindled an Indian man out of US$2.3 million after selling him a property he did not own, and offering to facilitate work permits for 450 people, ZimLive can reveal.

Tempter Paul Tungwarara, who has another pending police complaint by a man who claims he defrauded him of $300,000, has allegedly used his political links to suppress police investigations.

Police were aware of the complaints when Mnangagwa named him “special presidential investment adviser to the UAE” in November last year.

Razaa Jishan, 30, planned to set up a gaming business in Harare and was looking for land to build his company offices. He was introduced to Tungwarara.

Tungwarara, according to Jishan’s police complaint under case number AFU DR 01/07/23, introduced himself as a director of a company called Prevail International. He produced a board resolution to the effect that he was authorised to sell stand number 3 Tyward Close, Ballantyne Park in the leafy suburb of Highlands.

Jishan paid $1.3 million in cash to Tungwarara in five installments between October and December 2022, he told police.

Tungwarara was also awarded the contract to build offices and a sceptic tank on the premises for $550,000 and $99,000 respectively.

Police were told that Tungwarara also promised to secure Jishan a gaming licence, and he was given $150,000 for the purpose.

Boasting of access to the president and important government offices, Tungwarara also told Jishan he could secure him 450 work permits for Indian workers for his company Rod Cell Incorporated, formerly trading as Fair Play International.

Jishan told police he even relied on Tungwarara to find him an internet servive provider.

“Each time he wanted money, he would threaten to switch off our internet and several times he switched off the Internet and after giving him some money would switch it on,” he said.

Jishan said his worst fears were realised when, while attempting to complete transfer of the property, he discovered that it was in fact owned by a company called Hopsick Investments.

Tungwarara had also not delivered on the offices, the work permits and the gaming licence.

It got worse, he told police.

Sometime in February 2023, Tungwarara arrived at night and locked the gate, blocking access for Jishan and his workers. He opened the gate after several hours of pleading.

And then, in March 2023, Tungwarara allegedly arrived with armed men at the property and “ordered everyone to vacate the premises.”

“They locked the property such that we could not get inside. That’s when I realised that I had been defrauded by Tungwarara. I lost US$2,294,000,” he said.

ZimLive last week revealed how Tungwarara in 2019 borrowed US$350,000 from Jospher Chibisa claiming he had construction tenders at State House but only repaid US$64,500.

Chibisa reported Tungwarara for fraud at Harare’s CID commercial crimes unit but “the docket disappeared,” he said in a November 21, 2024, letter to Mnangagwa’s wife.

It was reported in February last year that the finance ministry rejected a US$15 million invoice from Tungwarara’s Paulos Construction company which was awarded a tender to build a perimeter wall around State House. It remains unclear how much the company was eventually paid.

Tungwarara, also using his proximity to Mnangagwa, has won a lucrative tender to drill thousands of boreholes around the country under the so called “presidential borehole scheme.”

When a section of veterans of the country’s independence war recently demanded Mnangagwa’s immediate resignation, Tungwarara was seen handing cash to war veterans around the country, promising to build them decent housing and drill each one of the liberation fighters a borehole. There are over 20,000 surviving war veterans.

Tungwarara declined to answer our questions.

Chivhayo Caught Red-Handed

By Munacho Gwamanda-Controversial businessman and close associate of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Wicknell Chivayo, has once again landed in the spotlight amid allegations of engaging in clandestine dealings on behalf of the Zimbabwean leader.

This weekend, Chivayo reportedly traveled to Kenya, allegedly to deliver another tranche of illicit funds linked to his murky business operations.

Sources familiar with Chivayo’s close ties to Mnangagwa revealed that the businessman’s recent trip to Nairobi was part of a broader network of questionable financial activities.

Zimbabwe Ranked Most Corrupt Country in Southern Africa for 2024

Mnangagwa Spy Arrested for Fraud

Zim Man Killed While Assisting Wife Give Birth In South Africa

By James Gwati-A Zimbabwean man was brutally murdered Thursday while his wife was in labour in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Talent Gono, and Lillian Hlahla were preparing to welcome their child into the world—a moment that was meant to be filled with joy but instead became one of unimaginable horror.

Lillian, employed by one Jeannie Ross, had been experiencing severe labour pains when her employer advised her to take time off and rest.

Doctors had warned her that if she did not give birth naturally by March 10, she would require a Caesarean section.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Ross received what she thought were messages announcing the birth of the child.

Instead, a voice message revealed Lillian’s screams—anguished, desperate, and filled with shock.

Talent had stepped outside to place their bags in the car, ready to rush to the hospital, when he was ambushed in the darkness.

A gang of men descended upon him, beating him mercilessly before plunging knives into his head, stomach, and chest.

Hearing the commotion, Lillian staggered outside despite her pain, only to be met with the sight of her husband lying in a pool of his own blood, his life slipping away.

He managed to whisper a plea for water. Overcome with desperation, she ran to a nearby tap, but before she could return, the agony of labour took hold.

There, beside her dying husband, in the cold and indifferent night, Lillian gave birth to their child.

The baby’s first cries pierced the air just as Talent breathed his last.

The incident adds to South Africa’s growing crisis of violent crime.

The country has one of the highest murder rates in the world, with an alarming number of homicides reported daily.

The latest statistics from the South African Police Service (SAPS) indicate that over 80 people are murdered every day, a grim reflection of deep-seated socio-economic issues, gang violence, and an overburdened law enforcement system.

Foreign nationals, especially Zimbabweans, have been frequent victims of these attacks, often targeted due to xenophobic tensions that flare up across the country.

Over the years, South Africa has witnessed brutal killings, from politically motivated assassinations to senseless robberies that leave families shattered.

Many townships and informal settlements, such as Joe Slovo, have become breeding grounds for crime, where the reign of fear often overshadows the rule of law.

COUNTDOWN: Chiwenga On Camera Scoffing Off Mnangagwa’s Boast That He’ll Be Allowed To Violate Constitution And Cancel Elections

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | n a captivating and unscripted moment at the 21st Movement function in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga was caught on camera openly laughing off President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s boastful claim that he’ll succeed in violating the constitution and cancelling future elections. The scene, now making waves on social media, offers a rare glimpse into the brewing tensions at the highest levels of Zimbabwe’s political hierarchy.

Dressed in a crisp white shirt adorned with bold, traditional prints, Chiwenga exuded confidence as he paced on outside the Ministry of Industry and Commerce building. His entourage surrounded him, but it was his reaction to the 2030 presidency talk that stole the show. As a journalist Annahstacia Ndlovu posed a question about Mnangagwa’s ambitions to extend his rule indefinitely, Chiwenga’s face broke into a broad grin, his laughter unmistakable.

The video, shared by ZimEye early Sunday morning, captures Chiwenga chuckling with genuine amusement, a stark contrast to the stoic and often controlled expressions typical of Zimbabwean political figures. The laughter wasn’t just a passing reaction—it was a powerful statement. It spoke volumes about the skepticism within the corridors of power regarding Mnangagwa’s intentions and the reality of his grasp over the ruling ZANU PF party.

Chiwenga and wife walking off

As he strolled away, still smiling, Chiwenga’s demeanor seemed to say it all: the idea of Mnangagwa bending the constitution to his will is nothing short of laughable. Behind him, a sea of aides and officials exchanged knowing glances, as if acknowledging the unspoken truth that not everyone within the party was marching to Mnangagwa’s beat.

This public display of mirth from Zimbabwe’s vice president is already fueling speculation about the future of the nation’s leadership.

Will the masses allow this to happen? Anything can happen anytime from now.

With whispers of internal party disputes and increasing calls for Mnangagwa to step down, Chiwenga’s laughter might just be the sound of an impending political shift. Whether this moment marks the beginning of the end for Mnangagwa’s controversial rule remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the laughter of a vice president can sometimes echo louder than the proclamations of a president.-ZimEye

Schools Resist New Curriculum Shift

By Munacho GwamandaSome schools are reportedly resisting the transition away from the controversial Continuous Assessment Learning Activities (CALAs), despite the government’s directive to phase them out.

CALAs, which were introduced as part of the 2015 competency-based curriculum, faced widespread criticism from educators, parents, and learners.

The system required students to complete numerous projects as part of their final assessment, a move that was intended to promote research, critical thinking, and practical application of knowledge.

However, CALAs quickly became a burden for students, with many complaining about the excessive workload and lack of proper guidance from teachers.

Additionally, concerns were raised that parents were often completing the assignments on behalf of their children, undermining the intended learning outcomes.

Teachers also found the system overwhelming, citing limited resources and time to effectively support students.

Many educators argued that the workload shifted their focus from actual teaching to managing endless assessments, while some schools struggled with logistical challenges such as inadequate access to internet resources and learning materials.

In response to these concerns, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education announced last year that CALAs would be discontinued and replaced with a more structured, user-friendly school-based assessment model.

The new system, which took effect at the beginning of this year, aims to provide a more balanced approach to evaluation while maintaining the practical learning aspects that CALAs sought to introduce.

Speaking to Sunday News last week, the Ministry’s Director of Communications and Advocacy, Mr. Taungana Ndoro, emphasized the need for schools to embrace the new assessment framework and ensure that parents and pupils are well-informed about the policy shift.

“The school-based projects are intended to be more practical, relevant, and aligned with the competencies we want our learners to develop. They provide a holistic approach to assessment, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts,” Mr. Ndoro explained.

He further noted that the transition is being implemented in phases to allow for a smooth adaptation process.

For the upcoming end-of-year examinations, schools will be required to integrate the new school-based projects into their assessment criteria.

However, for the June examinations, CALAs will still be used for the last time before being completely phased out.

“This is a transitional period designed to allow schools to adapt to the new system. We recognize that change can be challenging, but we are confident that this shift will bring long-term benefits to our education system,” Mr. Ndoro stated.

Despite the government’s efforts, reports indicate that some schools are reluctant to fully implement the new policy, eitherdue to resistance to change or a lack of preparedness.

Education stakeholders have called on the Ministry to intensify awareness campaigns and training sessions to ensure a smooth transition and prevent disruptions in the assessment process.

As Zimbabwe’s education system continues to evolve, the success of the new curriculum will largely depend on its implementation at the school level and the cooperation of teachers, students, and parents in embracing the reforms.

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A story circulated claiming that preacher Passion Java has been deserted by his wife, Lily.

ZimEye reached out to Java to inquire about this, and he replied, saying:

“It’s Tatelicious who started it all by saying I went to Cape Town. When I had finished my meeting, I said, ‘Let me stay,’ and I have a house at the beach. So I was wearing my beachwear. I was five minutes from the house when it was said of me that I had gone mad. But the internet is the internet.”

Java was asked about the reported clearing of his wife’s Instagram account of his pictures. He said,

“We cleared our Instagram accounts and handed them to the church staff to manage.”

He also added that he is now involved in building and managing his church.

How big is your church? Java was asked.

“I have 38 branches (around the world),” he said.

Java also took time to insult senior war veteran Blessed Geza, saying he will not be able to fix the country as promised.

Which are you in the cosmos of politics in Zimbabwe? he was asked. He replied,

“There is a mudhara I saw who was talking too much.

“There is only one side of politics in Zimbabwe, the only side of ED Mnangagwa,” he said.

When asked how he could support someone who was recently described by his own prophet as a condemned politician humbled to the point of eating grass like cattle, he said,

“There is nothing like that. There is no such prophecy…

“The day when I announced, ‘Pamberi naED,’ God had told me he’s the leader of my choice, so for such a person to end up eating grass, it’s impossible,” he said.

He added, “It’s impossible; it’s impossible. That man is God’s messenger.” – ZimEye

Mnangagwa Praises Self For Empowering Young People

By A Correspondent

In a nation teetering on the brink of collapse, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s latest public statements about his administration’s supposed achievements ring hollow, masking the grim reality of a country grappling with widespread corruption, human rights violations, and the ongoing looting of national resources.

As the Zimbabwean government continues to project a false narrative of prosperity and empowerment, the lives of ordinary citizens are steeped in suffering, insecurity, and disillusionment.

On the occasion of the 2025 National Youth Day celebrations, Mnangagwa once again touted his administration’s commitment to empowering Zimbabwe’s youth, positioning them in key decision-making roles. However, beneath this surface-level rhetoric lies a more troubling reality. Under Mnangagwa’s leadership, the political climate has become increasingly authoritarian, with dissent crushed through state-sanctioned violence and intimidation. The president’s claims of promoting young leaders in key government positions are overshadowed by a brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters, journalists, and opposition members who dare to speak out.

While Mnangagwa continues to emphasize the importance of “youth participation” in national governance, he conveniently ignores the fact that many of these same young people are being subjected to violent repression at the hands of government forces. Reports of unlawful detentions, torture, and extrajudicial killings have become all too common, as the regime seeks to stifle any opposition to its increasingly tyrannical rule.

Moreover, the so-called “Second Republic” is also infamous for its failure to address the rampant corruption that has infected every level of government. Far from empowering the youth, Mnangagwa’s administration has allowed a culture of impunity to flourish, with high-ranking officials and their cronies looting state resources with abandon. Whether it’s through the illegal exploitation of the country’s vast mineral wealth or siphoning off international aid meant to alleviate poverty, the looting continues unchecked, enriching the elites while the majority of Zimbabweans languish in poverty.

The president’s hollow promises to create a “digital skills development programme” in partnership with the United Arab Emirates do little to address the systemic issues of governance and corruption. While it is true that youth empowerment is essential, Mnangagwa’s words ring empty in a nation where the very institutions that should support development are being pillaged by those in power. The idea that this programme will somehow transform Zimbabwe’s young people into a new generation of skilled professionals seems more like a well-crafted distraction from the real issues at hand: human rights abuses, an economy in freefall, and a growing disillusionment among citizens.

Mnangagwa’s address also touched on the fight against drug and substance abuse, but once again, his focus on “flushing out drug lords” misses the larger picture of a government that has systematically destroyed its own institutions. While drug abuse is a significant issue, it is deeply connected to the country’s economic crisis, lack of opportunity, and the broader social malaise created by a corrupt and negligent government. The president’s failure to address the root causes of these issues – such as the erosion of trust in government and the systematic dismantling of public services – shows his detachment from the struggles faced by everyday Zimbabweans.

Ultimately, the National Youth Day celebrations, with their superficial focus on youth empowerment and development, serve only as a smokescreen for the deeper political crisis plaguing Zimbabwe. The youth may be used as pawns in Mnangagwa’s political game, but they are not truly being empowered. Instead, they are being betrayed by a government that continues to violate their human rights, endorse rampant corruption, and destroy the very future it claims to build. Zimbabwe needs more than empty promises and hollow rhetoric; it needs real change, accountability, and a restoration of its dignity.

ED’s Fake Epworth Title Deeds

Epworth Title Deeds Scandal Uncovered—Residents Misled Over Presidential Title Deeds Programme

Harare, Zimbabwe – Thousands of Epworth residents have been left in shock and confusion as revelations emerge that the much-publicized title deeds under the Presidential Title Deeds and Settlement Regularisation Programme may not be the qualifying legal documents they were promised.

The programme, launched in April 2023, was intended to provide legal ownership of properties to homeowners, thereby unlocking economic opportunities. However, it has come to light that the nearly 4,000 residents who applied for these title deeds might not receive fully qualifying legal documents, as initially suggested by government officials.

According to new information, the Epworth Local Board secretary, Dr. Wilton Mhanda, previously praised the overwhelming response to the initiative. “I am very happy that this programme has provided a long-awaited opportunity for our communities,” he said. Yet, it appears this optimism may have been premature.

Insiders close to the process have revealed that the current title deeds being issued might not meet the full legal criteria required for property ownership. Specifically, concerns are being raised over the stringent requirements for a property to qualify for a legitimate title deed, including the necessity of an approved building plan and a completed title survey. Many residents may not meet these conditions, leading to fears that they could be left with worthless papers instead of legally recognized ownership documents.

One of the critical issues highlighted is the status of properties built on wetlands. Dr. Mhanda mentioned a relocation strategy for these residents, but critics argue that this acknowledgment indicates that many properties already do not qualify for legitimate title deeds. “We respect the rights of those living in wetlands and have applied to the Government for the acquisition of additional land to accommodate them,” Mhanda said. However, this may be a tacit admission that these properties were improperly regularized in the first place.

Local governance and urban planning experts have started questioning the transparency of the programme. “The government might be using this as a political tool, giving residents a false sense of security about their property ownership status,” said a source familiar with land administration.

Meanwhile, residents are expressing outrage and betrayal. “We were told this would change our lives, give us real ownership of our homes. Now it feels like we’ve been duped,” said one Epworth resident who asked to remain anonymous.

This unfolding scandal could have far-reaching implications, not only for Epworth but also for the broader Presidential Title Deeds and Settlement Regularisation Programme, which aims to regularize over 1.5 million properties across Zimbabwe.

Government officials are yet to issue an official response to these allegations. As the situation develops, affected residents are being urged to seek legal advice and verify the legitimacy of any documents they receive under the programme.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

Mnangagwa’s “Mombe Yangu”Joke Fuels Zanu PF Infighting

By A Correspondent

Zanu PF leader, Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, sparked controversy on Friday when he made a lighthearted comment directed at Vice President Constantino Chiwenga. During a public gathering, Mnangagwa jokingly told Youth Minister Tino Machakaire not to inform Chiwenga about the donation of one beast he had received.

In what seemed to be a casual remark, Mnangagwa quipped, “Musaratidze VaChiwenga vanozondibira mombe yangu yakanakisa,” which translates to “Don’t show Mr. Chiwenga my finest cattle, he might steal it.”

While the comment was made in jest, it immediately triggered a wave of reaction from both political commentators and Zanu PF members, with many criticizing the statement for being in poor taste. The timing of the joke, amidst the growing factionalism within the ruling party, raised eyebrows.

Infighting within Zanu PF has been a longstanding issue, and the comment seemed to fuel speculations about the ongoing tensions between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga, two of the party’s top figures.

The casual nature of the remark was seen by some as an attempt to downplay the serious infighting within the party, but for others, it appeared as a veiled jab at the Vice President. “In a time when unity is critical for the party, such statements only exacerbate the divisions,” said a senior political analyst, speaking on the condition of anonymity. “Jokes like these, especially involving such high-profile individuals, can be misinterpreted and end up fanning the flames of discord.”

Chiwenga, a key figure in the military and political landscape of Zimbabwe, has had a rocky relationship with Mnangagwa, and the two have been at odds at different points throughout their political careers. Although the comment was intended as lighthearted, it did little to reassure those within and outside the party about the state of Zanu PF’s internal harmony.

As the debate over Mnangagwa’s comment continues, the focus now shifts to whether this “mombe yangu” joke will contribute to further deepening the fractures within the ruling party. With the 2023 elections on the horizon, many are wondering whether such remarks are a reflection of deeper issues in Zanu PF’s leadership.

Whether Mnangagwa’s words were truly intended as a harmless joke or a subtle dig at Chiwenga, one thing is clear: in the world of Zimbabwean politics, even the most seemingly innocuous comments can have far-reaching consequences.

City Council, Government Lock Horns Over Road Rehabilitation

By A Correspondent

The rehabilitation of Tangwena Street in Masvingo has sparked a dispute between the City Council and the Government, as both parties clash over responsibility for the ongoing project.

A Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development official stated on Thursday that the City of Masvingo is responsible for the refurbishment of Tangwena Street.

This has raised questions and concerns among local residents who are eagerly awaiting improvements to the vital road.

In response, the City of Masvingo issued a statement to clarify its position regarding the ongoing construction of Tangwena Street and the associated roundabout project.

“This statement seeks to provide clarity regarding the ongoing construction of Tangwena Street and roundabout in the city of Masvingo,” the city council said.

The council acknowledged the frustration among residents about the perceived slow progress of the project but emphasized that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development is leading the initiative, not the city itself.

“While the city council acknowledges residents’ concerns regarding the perceived slow progress of the construction, it’s imperative to emphasize that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development is leading this initiative, not the city of Masvingo,” the statement read.

Despite this, Masvingo City Council expressed empathy towards the community’s desire for the timely completion of the road rehabilitation, recognizing its importance for local infrastructure development. “Masvingo City Council fully empathizes with the community’s desire for the timely completion of this essential infrastructure project,” the council affirmed.

The statement further called for an expedited resolution of delays, stressing the urgency of completing the project as soon as possible. “In addressing the delays, it’s crucial to underscore the urgency of expediting the project to ensure it reaches completion as early as possible, meeting both the expectations of the residents and the strategic objectives of the city’s infrastructure development plan,” the city said.

In an effort to alleviate the situation, the council urged the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development to allocate the necessary resources and streamline the construction process. “We earnestly urge the Ministry to allocate necessary resources and streamline the construction process,” the council added.

The city also expressed confidence in the Provincial Road Engineer’s ability to handle the project and address any concerns raised by residents. “Additionally, we have full confidence in the expertise and dedication of the Provincial Road Engineer to promptly address any concerns raised by residents and stakeholders throughout the duration of the project,” the statement concluded.

This ongoing clash between Masvingo City Council and the Government highlights the complexities of infrastructure development and the challenges local authorities face in balancing community expectations with bureaucratic processes.

ED: The Conductor of the 2030 Choir

By Shelton Muchena and Desmond Nleya

As Zimbabwe grapples with a tumultuous political climate, the question lingers: Is President Emmerson Mnangagwa, affectionately known as ED, paving the way for a seamless transition of power, or are he and his affiliates conspiring to dismantle the very tenets of democratic governance? Increasingly, the narrative suggests a faction within the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) is intent on extending his presidency beyond 2028, contradicting an implicit desire for change voiced by a significant portion of the electorate and party elders alike.

Emmerson Mnangagwa inside a ZUPCO bus

Over the past week, some self-acclaimed members of the Varakashi for ED, a vocal social media group advocating the continued hanging on power of the President were permanently expelled from the group on charges that they were rogue elements planting disunity in the party. Their expulsion signals that ZANU PF is always bigger than individuals.

The apparent isolation of Harare and the Midlands as the only vocal proponents of ED’s tenure beyond 2028 raises eyebrows. What does this suggest about the party’s grassroots sentiment? With over 60 resolutions passed at the recent ZANU-PF conference, why is there such emphasis on a single resolution favouring ED’s continued leadership? This oddity paves the way for speculation regarding whether the party’s foundations are cracking, supporting the notion that the wider political apparatus may not share the fervent enthusiasm exhibited by ED’s loyalist in Harare and Midlands.

Moreover, the unnerving silence from key party figures, including Dr Obert Mpofu, Sydney Sekeramai, General Rugeje, Patric Chinamasa,George Charamba and Nick Mangwana, regarding the contentious ‘2030 slogan’ is telling. As the narrative circulates that ED may genuinely consider relinquishing power, why is he not denouncing a slogan that suggests he aims to remain in office well into the next decade? This hesitance only deepens the public’s suspicion of his political intentions.

In recent days, the mantra supporting his extended presidency, ‘Dancing to 2030,’ which previously filled the political atmosphere with fervour, has notably quieted. Coupled with the alarming sight of military tanks on the streets of Harare, the government seems to be sending a stark message: loyalty to ED will not be tolerated, and dissent will be met with force Is this an expression of confidence in his leadership or a desperate bid to project strength amid an atmosphere of uncertainty and doubt?

This mounting tension serves as a battle cry for Zimbabweans yearning for change, yet the decision-makers appear poised to stifle the people’s voice. As political affiliations become increasingly fractured, and as fear mounts over the consequences of dissent, the resolution rests in the hands of the electorate. Will they remain passive observers in the face of an unfolding political drama, or will they mobilise to demand accountability and change?

If ED is honest about leaving office in 2028, why did he start the 2030 ndenge ndichipo slogan.

Why have parallel structures with prefixes for ED? What happens to them when he leaves office? Why does he not stop the slogan that has seemingly caused division not only in the country but also in ZANU PF.
Even without answers to these questions, one thing remains certain, that the winner will always be ZANU PF.

Mention One Thing Mnangagwa’s Second Republic Has Achieved …

Mnangagwa Boasts Of Second Republic Achievements

COUNTDOWN: Embarrasssed Mnangagwa Drops 2030 Campaign

By Munacho Gwamanda-Supporters of President Emmerson Mnangagwa have abandoned the #ED2030 slogans, signalling a major political victory for his deputy, Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga, in the ongoing battle for control of Zanu PF.

This shift was evident at the National Youth Day commemorations at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo yesterday.

Unlike previous rallies, where Mnangagwa was welcomed with loud chants of “2030 ndeya Emmerson, 2030 baba,” his arrival was met with subdued enthusiasm.

The absence of the once-popular third-term campaign slogans underscores the growing influence of Chiwenga’s military-backed faction, which has strongly opposed Mnangagwa’s ambitions to extend his rule beyond 2028.

Chiwenga, standing composed alongside his wife Miniyothabo Baloyi, keenly observed the unfolding developments.

His allies, emboldened by the military’s support, had recently deployed war veterans to pressure Mnangagwa into stepping down immediately, citing his failure to govern effectively.

This development follows Mnangagwa’s repeated public statements distancing himself from the 2030 campaign, reaffirming his intent to retire at the end of his current term.

The #ED2030 campaign, designed to secure Mnangagwa a third term, had gained significant momentum despite his official denials.

However, the military’s firm opposition proved to be a decisive factor. According to a senior military insider, the army’sstance is “unequivocal”—Mnangagwa must complete his constitutional second term and leave office in 2028.

Further cementing this power shift, the army recently demonstrated its might in Harare by deploying armoured personnel carriers in a conspicuous display of force.

This move suggests that the military is actively shaping Zanu PF’s succession plan, with Chiwenga emerging as the favoured candidate to take over in the post-Mnangagwa era.

Embarrassing Video: Gen Chiwenga Catches ED In The Act Confirming He’s Extending His Term To 2030

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | There were dramatic scenes when President Emmerson Mnangagwa was yesterday caught in the act visibly getting “cushioned” by ZANU PF Secretary For Youth Affairs, Tinomuda Machakaire so that his unconstitutional statements do not reach the general’s ears.

In the footage below, Tinomuda Machakaire is swiftly stopped by Vice President Gen. Constantino Chiwenga, and told to back off.

As a result, Mnnagagwa is heard fully announcing that he is in perfect agreement with youths who are calling for the illegal extending of his presidential term beyond 2028, the same young ones who are also calling for the arrest of the firebrand war veteran Blessed Geza.

The small group of youths caught on camera denouncing Geza, were a handful from Mnangagwa’s Mindlands home Province.

The body movement and posture is very tense, and may indicate what is to happen in the coming few days.

The development comes at a time when Mnangagwa brought up a fake inventor who’s an armed robber to distract the masses that he is going to fix the economy with endless electricity technology, a day after Chiwenga received massive national support 3 weeks ago.

Your Excellency, what you have seen?, Mnangagwa is asked.

He replies: “I’m so happy with the enthusiasm I see, especially in the younger generation. They are on board. They are so happy with what is happening in the country. It is evidence the future of the country is bright because the young people are on board.

The development is set to trigger a negative reaction and an informal statement made by a self confessing military officer stated in passing that, “As we did in November 2017 and a high court order validated the removal of the late president of Zimbabwe, Robert Gabriel Mugabe,” when he started violating the constitution.

The army as law enforcers are expected to protect the masses as they protest, and Geza has announced saying, “usatambe nesimba revanhu- don’t play with the power of the people.”

Girlfriend Catches Lover With His Real Wife

Viral Bus Confrontation Unveils Love Triangle Drama

A video capturing a heated confrontation between a self-confessed girlfriend, a married man, and his unsuspecting wife has taken the internet by storm. The incident, filmed inside a crowded bus at an undisclosed location, has sparked widespread discussions on social media about infidelity, deception, and public drama.

The video opens with the girlfriend addressing the wife with a casual yet charged, “Hey, hi. This is my husband. What are you doing to my husband?” The wife, equally assertive, responds, “Oh, your husband? Yeah, my husband. Tell them who I am.” Tensions rise as the girlfriend demands the man to confess their relationship, leading to an explosive back-and-forth exchange.

Amid the chaos, the girlfriend claims, “He has touched me in ways that you probably have never been touched,” leaving the bus passengers in shock. The wife, maintaining a firm stance, retorts, “Could you please step back and get your breast out of my husband’s eyes.” What follows is a dizzying spiral of accusations, revealing a tangled web of lies.

One of the most jaw-dropping moments is when the girlfriend reveals a ring, stating, “It may not be an engagement as big as yours, but I have one too. He loved giving rings, don’t you? Daddy.” The term “Daddy” triggers a visceral reaction from the wife, who shoots back, “If you got daddy issues, deal with your daddy.”

The husband, notably silent throughout most of the confrontation, appears caught between the clashing realities of his double life. As the girlfriend continues to press him to reveal the truth, the wife advises her to “check your phone and you’ll find out exactly who I am.”

The confrontation crescendos with the girlfriend claiming, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too,” only to deliver the final blow, “I did have my cake and I ate both cakes too.”

The video has since gone viral, with viewers expressing mixed reactions—ranging from sympathy for the wife to disdain for the betrayal, and even admiration for the girlfriend’s boldness. The identities of the individuals involved remain undisclosed, and no official statements have been made regarding the aftermath of the incident.

Mnangagwa’s “Mombe Yangu” Jibe at Chiwenga Causes Uproar Within Zanu PF

We Are Walking The Talk In Terms Of Nation Building, Claims Mnangagwa

Blessed And His Wife AnoGeza

Deep inside Zimbabwe’s timeless landscapes, where the sun-kissed earth meets the whispering trees, a love story blooms, wrapped in faith and resilience. Blessed Geza, known by many as “the Puritan,” stands not only as a man of conviction but as a beacon of hope for his community. Beside him, ever radiant, is his wife, Ano Geza—his other half, his solace, his home.

Their recent photograph, now making waves across social media, showcases not just a couple but a union of souls intertwined in love and purpose. Dressed in vibrant, traditional patterns, Ano Geza beams with the warmth of a morning sun, while Blessed’s embrace speaks of protection and unwavering devotion.

Blessed Geza and wife

Comments from well-wishers poured in like gentle rains. “Blessed half and his other Geza,” a playful yet heartfelt remark, captured the essence of their bond. Many heralded Blessed as a liberator, a man of high voltage, charged with purpose and humility.

The voices of support echo the impact of Blessed Geza’s journey. Shepherd Mutandwa addressed Ano as “My sister, Roseline Ndaizivei,” a name spoken with the familiarity of kin. Butho Ndlovu’s call to Blessed, “You untoucheble madala, rescue the country plz,” resonates with a nation yearning for guidance and hope.

For the Geza family, love is not merely a sentiment but a mission. Their strides are not just through the rugged beauty of the wild but through the hearts of those who look up to them. Roadworks Mugabe’s praise, “You are a good man,” is a testament to a legacy being built on integrity and compassion.

As the sun sets, casting a golden hue on Zimbabwe’s open skies, Blessed and Ano Geza remain a silhouette of love and strength. Their story is a melody—one of perseverance, faith, and a love that sings to the spirit of a nation. And as their supporters proclaim, “God bless you all,” it is clear: the Geza family walks not alone but with a chorus of blessings at their back.

Masvingo City Council, Government Clash Over Road Rehabilitation

Chiwenga Silences Mnangagwa, Forces Him To Drop 2030 Agenda

By Munacho Gwamanda-President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s supporters have abandoned the #ED2030 slogans, signalling a major political victory for his deputy, Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga, in the ongoing battle for control of Zanu PF.

This shift was evident at the National Youth Day commemorations held yesterday at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo.

In complete contrast to previous rallies, where Mnangagwa was welcomed with loud chants of “2030 ndeya Emmerson, 2030 baba,” his arrival was met with subdued enthusiasm.

Six Varakashi Fired Over Chiwenga

By Munachho Gwamanda-Six senior members of the Varakashi4ED social media unit have been fired for “indiscipline,” in a move widely seen as part of the ongoing power struggle between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

The dismissals were ordered by Zanu PF’s legal affairs boss, Patrick Chinamasa, under direct instructions from Mnangagwa.

Varakashi4ED is a state-sponsored online propaganda unit tasked with attacking opposition figures, shaping digital discourse in favour of Mnangagwa, and silencing dissent within Zanu PF.

Chinamasa, who serves as the executive director of the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit, announced the sackings in a letter dated February 11, 2025, addressed to the party’s national political commissar, Munyaradzi Machacha.

He revealed that the decision followed a high-level meeting with Mnangagwa on February 3 to discuss growing disciplinary concerns within the unit.

“On February 3, 2025, I met with His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of Zanu PF, Cde Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, to discuss disciplinary issues within the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit, which I lead as executive director,” Chinamasa wrote. “After reviewing serious infractions by rogue elements who attacked the unit’s leadership and senior party officials, the following recommendations were made…”

As a result, Jonasi Mandiwisa Musara, Tafadzwa Mawire, Tinotenda Gachange, Felix Muzondo, Pardon Mangwende, and Herbert Mathe were permanently removed from the unit.

Chinamasa further informed Machacha that Norman Mbimbi had been appointed as the new administrator of Varakashi4ED, while Dereck Goto would take over as director of operations.

The latest purge within Zanu PF’s online propaganda arm underscores intensifying factional tensions, particularly between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga.

Since orchestrating the 2017 coup that removed Robert Mugabe, the two men have maintained an uneasy alliance, with Chiwenga widely regarded as a potential challenger to Mnangagwa’s grip on power.

Tensions between their factions have been steadily rising, as Chiwenga’s military-aligned supporters grow increasingly frustrated with Mnangagwa’s consolidation of control.

The Varakashi4ED dismissals suggest a renewed effort by Mnangagwa to tighten his hold over Zanu PF’s internal structures and suppress dissent within the party’s information machinery.

Previously, the Varakashi unit was used to attack opposition politicians, independent journalists, and even party members suspected of disloyalty.

However, recent reports suggest factional battles within the group, with some members allegedly aligning with Chiwenga’s camp to undermine Mnangagwa’s authority under the guise of promoting party interests.

Office Orderly Steals $1,000 from Minister

Office Orderly Jailed for Fuel Coupon Theft from Minister’s Office.

Mutare, Zimbabwe — A 30-year-old office orderly, Tendai Phil Muchadeyi, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for stealing fuel coupons valued at nearly US$1,000 from the office of the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza.

Mutare magistrate, Mr. Xavier Chipato, handed down the sentence, with seven months suspended for five years on condition of good behavior. Muchadeyi, who worked at the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, admitted to the theft when he appeared in court.

The Theft and Arrest

According to Prosecutor Ms. Sharon Mlambo, the crime occurred on November 19, when Muchadeyi stole an envelope containing 31 Petrotrade diesel coupons with serial numbers ranging from PU006D1339078 to PU006D13390100. The coupons were meant for official use by drivers within the Minister’s office.

The theft was discovered when administrative officer Ms. Caroline Ndadzungira, who had received a Petrotrade fuel coupon booklet on November 9, noticed the coupons were missing. Muchadeyi had observed her issuing coupons to drivers on November 17, learning where the coupons were stored.

Muchadeyi sold the stolen coupons in Harare before his arrest on December 5. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, leading to the recovery of 22 coupons valued at US$704.10. The total value of the stolen coupons was US$992.

Legal Consequences and Sentencing

Mr. Chipato’s ruling included a suspended sentence, allowing Muchadeyi to avoid serving the full term if he maintains good behavior over the next five years. The court emphasized the breach of trust and the need for accountability within government offices.

The case has sparked discussions on the need for stricter internal controls and monitoring mechanisms to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Man Brutally Kills Baby Mama

Sphamandla Khumalo is on trial for the murder of Nomfundo Msibi, the mother of his two children. According to prosecutor Krishen Shah, Khumalo planned and executed the fatal stabbing of Msibi in the parking lot of the Gateway shopping centre on August 4.

The Durban high court heard that Khumalo stabbed Msibi at least 22 times, with an okapi knife found lodged in her body. Khumalo pleaded not guilty to premeditated murder, claiming the stabbing was not intentional.

Video footage shown in court captured the final moments of Msibi’s life, depicting the couple’s quarrel and the fatal stabbing. Judge Jacqueline Henriques noted that while Khumalo admitted to stabbing Msibi, he maintained it was not his intention.

Judgment in the case is expected on March 24.

Corruption Destroying Economy, Not Sanctions, Opposition Activist Declares

By A Correspondent

Former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Councillor and Youth leader Arnold Batirai Dube has asserted that Zimbabwe is not under sanctions, but rather, the country is facing targeted restrictions imposed specifically on Zanu PF officials. Dube made the remarks in response to a recent news bulletin aired on the national broadcaster, emphasizing that the government’s narrative about sanctions is misleading.

“Zimbabwe is not on sanctions. We only have restricted measures. The regime is hiding behind the finger,” Batirai Dube stated, pointing out that the country’s challenges are not a result of broad sanctions but rather targeted actions aimed at specific individuals.

This statement comes amid the European Union’s (EU) decision to remove Zimbabwe Defence Industries (ZDI) from its list of sanctioned entities while maintaining its arms embargo on the country. The EU, in a statement released this Tuesday, confirmed the adjustment of its restrictive measures on Zimbabwe, extending them until February 2026. The delisting of ZDI marks a notable change, though the EU has made it clear that restrictions on arms and military equipment will continue, a measure that has been in place since 2002.

In light of the EU’s decision, Zimbabwe continues to call for the unconditional and complete removal of the arms embargo, which it argues has hindered the country’s development for more than two decades. Despite this, Batirai Dube’s comments suggest a shift in understanding, focusing on the narrower scope of the restrictions rather than a blanket sanction on the entire nation.

Shockwaves at Sojini Secondary: The Moment the Missing Money Was Discovered

The humdrum of an ordinary school day at Sojini Secondary School in Mbembesi was abruptly shattered when a routine audit uncovered a financial discrepancy that would soon send shockwaves through the entire community. It all began when school chairman Arnold Nombembe, sifting through documents in the dimly lit bursar’s office, stumbled upon a withdrawal slip that bore his own signature—except, he hadn’t signed it.

His pulse quickened. The slip authorized the withdrawal of US$1,220 from the school’s bank account at Stanbic Bank. With mounting suspicion, Nombembe clutched the slip tighter, his mind racing through the possible explanations. Could this be a clerical error, or was something far more sinister at play?

The answer would soon emerge, leading straight to the school’s headmaster, Themba Nyoni, who now stands accused of forging Nombembe’s signature. What followed was a whirlwind of investigations, culminating in Nyoni’s appearance in court on Thursday. But as the trial unfolds, the burning question remains: Did the headmaster truly steal, or is there another story waiting to be told?

As the pieces of this puzzling scandal come together, the community of Mbembesi watches closely, eager for the truth.

Did This Headmaster Steal? Sojini Secondary School’s Themba Nyoni in Court Over Forgery Allegations.

Mbembesi, Matabeleland North — February 22, 2025

The headmaster of Sojini Secondary School, Themba Nyoni, appeared in court on Thursday facing allegations of forgery and theft involving school funds. Nyoni, aged 53, is accused of forging the signature of the school’s chairman, Arnold Nombembe, to withdraw US$1,220 from the school’s bank account.

The court proceedings, held before Bulawayo magistrate Beverly Madzikatire, revealed shocking details as forensic expert Kurauone Madzivanyika testified that Nombembe’s signature on the withdrawal slip was indeed forged. Nyoni has been remanded out of custody until March 6, when the trial will continue.

According to the prosecution, led by Sehliselo Khumalo, the alleged crime took place on November 21, 2023. Nyoni purportedly used the forged signature to withdraw the funds at Stanbic Bank. The discrepancy came to light when Nombembe discovered the questionable withdrawal slip in the school bursar’s office.

“The withdrawal slip was for US$1,220,” Khumalo told the court, highlighting the gravity of the allegations.

This is not the first time Nyoni has been embroiled in controversy. Back in 2018, he faced legal action amid accusations of bullying and publicly berating teachers, even labeling them as “useless.” His leadership style was reportedly a source of friction, with subordinates accusing him of enforcing “draconian” measures at the school.

The critical question now looms: Did Nyoni steal from the school, or is this a case of misunderstanding or sabotage? As the trial progresses, parents, teachers, and the Mbembesi community are eagerly awaiting answers.

Stay tuned as we follow this developing story to uncover the truth behind the alleged forgery.

Mnangagwa Is Staying: Zanu PF Youth Leader

By A Correspondent

Zanu PF Youth League official Taurai Kandishaya has firmly dismissed claims that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is stepping down, stating that those spreading such rumors are merely fooling themselves.

In a heated statement made on Thursday, Kandishaya declared: “Street kid rekuna 4th rakafunga kusara rega nemabin ese ndokunyepera vamwe varo kuti kunaCoppacabana kwaitika accident yetruck redelta nerelobels.

He compared the spread of false rumors about Mnangagwa’s exit to a street child telling a lie and other gullible people beginning to believe it.

Kandishaya emphasized that the narrative was simply fabricated, stating: “Kugadzira manyepo woatengesa vakapusa voatambira zvekuti iwewe wacho Unosvika pakutanga kubvuma manyepo ako.”

He concluded by making it clear that President Mnangagwa was not going anywhere, adding: “Well, President ED is not going anywhere. Mi maChinja nemi maG40 continue believing in your own lies.”

Kandishaya’s comments come amidst ongoing rumors and speculation about the future of the Zimbabwean presidency. The youth leader’s defiant stance underscores the Zanu PF party’s commitment to Mnangagwa’s leadership, despite the growing opposition and speculation regarding his tenure.

Mnangagwa Appoints New Varakashi Leader

By A Correspondent

President Mnangagwa has taken drastic measures against rogue elements within the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit, a group of internet trolls employed by Zanu PF to attack its opponents .

Six members of the unit have been fired for allegedly attacking senior party members, as announced by Patrick Chinamasa, the party’s legal secretary and executive director of the unit.

The decision was made after Chinamasa met with President Mnangagwa to discuss disciplinary issues within the unit.

Chinamasa stated that the unit’s leadership and senior party officials had been attacked by rogue elements, leading to the removal of Jonasi Mandiwisa Musara, Tafadzwa Mawire, Tinotenda Gachange, Felix Muzondo, Pardon Mangwende, and Herbert Mathe from the unit .

The Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit will now be the party’s sole recognized social media affiliate, and a new administrator and director of operations have been appointed. Norman Mbimbi will take over as administrator, while Dereck Goto will serve as director of operations.

The existence of the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit has long been rumored, but this is the first time proof has been obtained. The unit was established ahead of the 2023 harmonized elections, following President Mnangagwa’s directive.

One of the fired members, Jonasi Mandiwisa Musara, took to social media to announce his departure, stating that he would be focusing on his law studies and reducing his time on social media.

“Zimbabwe Not On Sanctions “

ED Sees Large Billboard In Solidarity With Army Action Against Mnangagwa 2030

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A moment at the 21st Movement function in Bulawayo: a large sign held aloft by a defiant attendee sent shockwaves through the hall where President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s youth supporters were campaigning for his extended presidency. The sign, boldly declaring “Mash West in Solidarity with the Army,” highlighted the growing rift within Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU PF party and underscored the deepening discontent surrounding Mnangagwa’s controversial push to extend his rule to 2030.

The billboard

The event, which was intended to showcase unwavering support for Mnangagwa’s leadership, instead became a focal point for opposition voices. The same Mashonaland West region that recently expelled war veterans Blessed Runesu Geza and Gifford Gomwe as punishment for opposing Mnangagwa’s 2030 agenda is now sending mixed signals. This open display of solidarity with the army, widely seen as a veiled challenge to Mnangagwa’s authority, has sparked intense speculation about the true allegiances of the region’s political and military elites.

As Mnangagwa took to the stage, attempting to rally the crowd with the pro-regime anthem “2030 is Emmerson’s!”, the sign’s presence loomed large. The image of the president dancing alone, accompanied only by Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri’s half-hearted mimicry, contrasted sharply with the message of dissent that hung over the gathering. The atmosphere was palpably tense, as if the event had become a microcosm of the broader power struggle within Zimbabwe’s corridors of power.

This latest embarrassment comes as calls for Mnangagwa to step down in favor of his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, grow louder. The party’s own spokesperson, Christopher Mutsvangwa, recently acknowledged that Blessed Geza, the expelled war veteran, is a trained military tactician with a knack for reading the party’s pulse. Geza has not shied away from demanding Mnangagwa’s immediate resignation, further emboldening those within the military and political establishments who are dissatisfied with the president’s maneuvers to cement his grip on power.

For many observers, the sign in solidarity with the army was more than just a statement—it was a signpost on the road to a potential political showdown. As Mnangagwa dances alone on stage, the question now is whether he is dancing on the edge of his political tenure or if his steps are merely the prelude to an even tighter hold on power. One thing is certain: Zimbabwe’s political dance floor is becoming increasingly crowded, and not everyone is moving to Mnangagwa’s beat.- ZimEye

Chinamasa Fires Six Pro-Chiwenga Varakashi Members

By Munachho Gwamanda-Zanu PF, legal affairs boss Patrick Chinamasa has fired six members of the Varakashi4ED.

The social media unit, is a group of internet trolls hired by the ruling party to attack its opponents and shape online discourse in favour of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Chinamasa, who serves as the executive director of the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit, announced the dismissals in a letter dated February 11, 2025, addressed to the party’s national political commissar, Munyaradzi Machacha.

Chinamasa revealed that the decision followed a high-level meeting with Mnangagwa on February 3 to discuss disciplinary concerns within the unit.

“On February 3, 2025, I met with His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of Zanu PF, Cde Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, to discuss disciplinary issues within the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit, which I lead as the executive director,” Chinamasa wrote. “After reviewing serious infractions by rogue elements who attacked the unit’s leadership and senior party officials, the following recommendations were made…”

As a result, Jonasi Mandiwisa Musara, Tafadzwa Mawire, Tinotenda Gachange, Felix Muzondo, Pardon Mangwende, and Herbert Mathe were permanently removed from the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit.

Chinamasa also informed Machacha that Norman Mbimbi would now serve as the administrator of Varakashi4ED, while Dereck Goto would take on the role of director of operations.

He emphasized that the unit was established under Mnangagwa’s directive ahead of the 2023 harmonized elections.

The latest purge within the ruling party’s online propaganda arm highlights deepening divisions in Zanu PF, particularly the ongoing power struggle between Mnangagwa and his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Since orchestrating the 2017 coup that ousted Robert Mugabe, the two men have maintained an uneasy alliance, with Chiwenga widely seen as a potential challenger to Mnangagwa’s hold on power.

Tensions between the two factions have been escalating, with Chiwenga’s military-aligned supporters increasingly frustrated by Mnangagwa’s consolidation of power.

The recent sackings within Varakashi4ED suggest a renewed effort by Mnangagwa to tighten his grip on the party’s internal structures and control dissenting voices within the information machinery.

In previous years, Varakashi4ED has been used to target opposition figures, independent journalists, and even internal party members suspected of disloyalty.

However, recent reports indicate that factional battles within the group have led to some members aligning with Chiwenga’s camp, using the platform to undermine Mnangagwa’s authority under the guise of promoting party interests.

The removal of the six members comes at a time when the battle for the 2028 elections is intensifying, with Chiwenga’s allies publicly positioning themselves to challenge Mnangagwa’s bid to extend his rule beyond 2028.

The move signals that Mnangagwa is unwilling to tolerate any dissent, even within his most loyal propaganda units.

As Zanu PF gears up for internal restructuring and potential succession battles, the fate of the Varakashi4ED unit remains uncertain. Whether the latest purge will strengthen Mnangagwa’s position or embolden Chiwenga’s allies to push back remains to be seen.

Tshabangu declared that Ncube had no authority to remove him for alleged misdeeds, fueling further tension within the opposition ranks.

Tshabangu responded defiantly, stating: “The battle is now ON, I’ll stand my ground to defend that nonsensical decision by @Welshman_Ncube. Interesting times ahead.”

This statement follows Tshabangu’s dismissal from the CCC earlier this week, a decision that has sparked controversy and further divisions within the party.

Taurai Kandishaya’s Empty Bravado: Zanu PF Youth Leader Declares Mnangagwa Not Going

Mastreet kid ese akaburitsa misoro mumabin ekuna4th akatanga kumhanya akananga kwarehwa. Riya rekunyepa richiona speed neseriousness yaimhanyiwa nemamwe rakabva rangofunga kuti ahhh ko kana chiri chokwadi Nhaimi ndingatosaririre ndokutanga kumhanyawo richitevera kumashure.”

Mnangagwa Fires Varakashi4ED Members

By A Correspondent

President Mnangagwa has taken drastic measures against rogue elements within the Varakashi4ED Social Media Unit, a group of internet trolls employed by Zanu PF to attack its opponents .

Six members of the unit have been fired for allegedly attacking senior party members, as announced by Patrick Chinamasa, the party’s legal secretary and executive director of the unit.

The decision was made after Chinamasa met with President Mnangagwa to discuss disciplinary issues within the unit.

Chinamasa stated that the unit’s leadership and senior party officials had been attacked by rogue elements, leading to the removal of Jonasi Mandiwisa Musara, Tafadzwa Mawire, Tinotenda Gachange, Felix Muzondo, Pardon Mangwende, and Herbert Mathe from the unit ¹.

COUNTDOWN: Police Roadblocks Return As Tanks Roll Into Harare

By Munacho GwamandaHome Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe has defended the sudden reappearance of police roadblocks across Zimbabwe, a move that coincides with the sighting of more than 20 military tanks on the streets of Harare.

While Kazembe insists the roadblocks are meant to curb traffic violations, citizens have raised concerns that law enforcement officers are using them to extort money from motorists.

Authorities have downplayed the presence of army tanks, claiming they are part of routine military drills.

However, the timing has fueled speculation of political instability, with many recalling eerily similar circumstances in the lead-up to the 2017 coup that toppled long-time ruler Robert Mugabe.

Kazembe’s confirmation that police checkpoints would remain in place has only intensified fears of an imminent power struggle.

Echoing military officials’ justifications for the tank deployments, Kazembe framed the roadblocks as a necessary measure to maintain law and order.

“Our people complain when police presence increases, and they complain when it is reduced. We have resolved to let the law guide us. The police will enforce regulations firmly, whether people complain or not,” Kazembe said.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing an electronic traffic management system, claiming it would enhance enforcement and reduce corruption.

“Technology doesn’t discriminate – it does not care about your face, relationship, or status. It ensures fairness and holds everyone accountable. By the end of this year, we will have this solution in place, and it will end the chaos on our roads,” he added.

Kazembe warned that reckless drivers and lawbreakers would face severe penalties, urging the public to comply with police directives.

Yet, many Zimbabweans suspect these measures are part of a broader security operation tied to internal conflicts within the ruling ZANU-PF party.

The heightened security presence comes amid increasing turmoil in ZANU-PF.

War veteran and Central Committee member Blessing Geza recently threatened to expose a faction plotting to remove President Emmerson Mnangagwa from power.

Geza, known for his ties to powerful military factions, issued an ultimatum for Mnangagwa to step down, warning of drastic consequences if he refuses.

Reports suggest that a military-aligned faction, led by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, is growing increasingly disillusioned with Mnangagwa’s leadership.

Many believe Mnangagwa has failed to honour an alleged agreement made during the 2017 coup, which purportedly secured Chiwenga’s path to the presidency.

Further adding to public anxiety, a viral video has surfaced featuring an unnamed prophet predicting a violent coup in Zimbabwe.

“The Lord has spoken, and I must pray for Zimbabwe. I saw another coup—one that will bring chaos and bloodshed. This will not be like before; this time, there will be much suffering, and many lives will be lost,” the prophet warned.

Prominent religious leader Ian Ndlovu has also issued a chilling prophecy, cautioning that the country’s deepening power struggle could spiral out of control.

The current political climate bears striking similarities to the events preceding the November 2017 coup, when the military moved against Mugabe to protect national stability.

Then, as now, military tanks rolled into Harare, and police roadblocks became more pronounced.

What was framed as a bid to restore democracy was, in reality, a high-stakes battle within ZANU-PF.

Mnangagwa ultimately emerged victorious, but his tenure has been marred by growing discontent within military ranks and the ruling party.

With tensions reaching a boiling point once again, the presence of tanks in Harare and the resurgence of roadblocks have reignited fears of another political shake-up.

Whether these developments signal the early stages of a coup or merely serve as precautionary security measures remains to be seen.

However, one thing is clear: Zimbabwe’s political landscape remains as volatile as ever.

“I Was Used And Dumped By Zanu PF,” Masvingo DJ Explodes

By A Correspondent

Zanu PF activist Thokozo Sibanda, widely known as DJ Natty Cure, has publicly accused the party of abandoning him after he was injured while performing duties for them.

In a recent interview with The Mirror newspaper, the DJ revealed the painful reality of being neglected after an accident he suffered during the 2023 election campaign.

Thokozo, who was an active and vibrant figure during the run-up to the 2023 elections, claims that Zanu PF took advantage of his enthusiasm and energy but failed to offer any assistance when he needed it most.

According to him, the accident occurred while he was travelling to perform at a party event, and he has since been left to fend for himself.

“I was injured while travelling to a party programme but nobody has bothered to assist me,” Thokozo said, expressing his frustration and disappointment with the party he once supported. “I have tried to reach out to Minister Chadzamira’s office but nothing has worked so far.”

The DJ’s allegations shed light on the lack of support for party members who work tirelessly for the party’s cause but are left unsupported when they face personal challenges. Thokozo’s painful experience has left him feeling used and discarded, with no one stepping forward to provide the necessary assistance.

As the situation continues to unfold, many are left questioning the true nature of the party’s loyalty to its supporters and the treatment of its activists after they have given their all for the cause.

Gomwe Fires Back: “Mnangagwa is the Architect of Confusion in ZANU PF”

Here is Gomwe’s full statement in response to rumors of his expulsion from ZANU PF:

“In response to the process initiated to expel Cde Geza and me from ZANU PF, I want to make this clear: ZANU PF runs through my veins; it is in my heart. No one can take away what is a lifeblood within me. As party cadres, we are our own liberators, and no force can deter me from standing for what I believe is right.

The truth is, Cde Mnangagwa is the architect of the 2030 agenda. It is on record that he instructed ministers to chant the 2030 slogan, and he himself declared, ‘2030, ndichipo.’ He is the source of the confusion that plagues both ZANU PF and the nation at large. We refuse to be silenced when we know he is the one fueling divisions and factionalism within the party.

Gifford Gomwe

Our constitution mandates the President to promote peace and unity among Zimbabweans, yet under his leadership, anarchy and despondency have become the norm. ZANU PF is a sacred and colossal party, grounded in revolutionary ethos, principles, and ideology that guide us all. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech, expression, and the right to life.

To my fellow Zimbabweans, it is time to wake up and stand firm for our rights. President Mnangagwa has failed. He has made countless promises, yet delivered on few. It is in the nation’s best interest that Cde Mnangagwa considers resigning as President before it is too late. We strongly urge him to step down and make way for a new chapter of leadership and progress for Zimbabwe.”

Yours comradely,
Cde Gifford Gomwe
