A devastating incident occurred in Waterfalls, Harare, on January 12, 2025, when a two-year-old male infant tragically drowned in an open pit meant for a septic tank.

According to the police, the toddler was playing at a neighbor’s house when he accidentally fell into the pit.

The body of the victim was retrieved and taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The incident has left the community in shock, highlighting the importance of ensuring the safety of children in residential areas.
