By James Gwati-Legislators said the government should put modern technology, including drones, at border posts to help immigration officers identify wanted criminals and prohibited immigrants from trying to enter Zimbabwe.

The MPs made this call recently following the announcement by the government of a surge in smuggling cases.

The government responded saying in the meantime, while the state was mobilizing resources for tightening security at the country’s entry points the police would step up their anti-smuggling patrols.
