By A Correspondent – A suspected robber has been shot dead near the Beitbridge border barely hours after a Zambian truck driver was shot and killed by robbers while waiting at the Weigh Bridge near the Beitbridge border post.

Sources on the ground told ZimEye, things are not well here, those very same robbers who shot the driver in the afternoon had returned and when they came out of the bush, they clashed with the police officers stationed there.

They started firing bullets and unfortunately one of them was shot dead and the rest fled into the nearby bush.

The person who was shot did not have a firearm.

The identity of the victim could not be established at the time of writing, to ascertain if they are truly a robber and not a victim.
