By Jane Mlambo| Human rights lawyer Doug Coltart has visited incarcerated journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and confirmed that he is unwell.

Coltart posted on Twitter that they have alerted his private doctor who will be attending to him immediately.

“I have just visited Hopewell Chin’ono at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and can confirm that he is unwell. We have alerted his private doctor who will be attending to him immediately and we will act accordingly based on the medical assessment and advice,” he said.

Chin’ono send an SOS to his lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa through Job Sikhala who told journalists that he had been send to tell the world of his condition.

“He has sent me to tell you that he is not feeling well, he is seriously ill,” said Sikhala to journalists outside Harare Magistrates Court.
