By Cindy Ncube| I do not normally write articles but the impending demonstration on the 16th has reinvigorated my political juices in a manner I have not experienced in my life. I really think the Zimbabwean people are on the verge of real change.
But I have been reading various social media posts by people calling this demo ‘the final push’. Even the Minister of Home Affairs (some old dufus with the title of Ambassador) has even quoted the ‘the final push’ in his anti demonstration dossier for the police. My view is that this demo is not the final push but the first push. Zanu pf and Mnangagwa will not go after one demonstration. The demonstrations need to happen country wide, continuously and indefinitely. If people expect change to happen after carrying out a single demonstration then they will be making a big mistake.
The MDC and civic leaders need to keep the energy up. The demos have to happen indefinitely until change comes. When I say change I mean until Mnangagwa and Zanu pf step down from government. Here in the diaspora, we will be demonstrating regularly and we will continue to raise awareness about the dire situation in Zimbabwe. Oh, and rest assured, whichever Zanu juntarist that arrives in the UK will receive a warm welcome from us democrats, ask SB Moyo.
