By A Correspondent| ZimEye has received confirmed reports that activist Tatenda Mombeyarara has been abducted and heavily asaulted in Hatfield.

The development was also confirmed by the Zimbabwe lawyers for human rights who said “it’s with great sadness and regret that ZLHRLawyers confirms the abduction and severe assault, torture by 6 heavily armed unidentified men from his home early this morning. During the assault/torture they interrogated him about Maldives training.

“The heavily armed men also asked him about 16 Aug Protests. They wanted details on number of people & how these protests had been organised. Although Tatenda denied any involvement, the men continued their vicious, barbaric attacks on him.

“The modus operandi of the six men used a torture method commonly known as *Falanga* which has been documented in the past as used by most state agents/actors. Many human rights activists have fallen victim to this torture method over the years.”
