By Own Correspondent- The feud between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is reportedly escalating following the dissolution of the party’s Harare and Bulawayo provincial structures by Mnangagwa.

According to a local weekly publication, the appointment of Oliver Chidawu as Harare Provincial Affairs minister by Mnangagwa is one of the moves exposing the factional feud.

Sources told The Standard that:

“There have been allegations that the party’s provincial executive in Harare was controlled by soldiers through retired Major General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe. Chiwenga is to lead the restructuring of the Harare structures and the appointment of Oliver Chidawu as Provincial Affairs minister is to whittle his influence.

The military side had too much control in Harare and that is why President Mnangagwa had to dissolve it. Bulawayo was just collateral damage.”
