By Own Correspondent| The trial of former president Robert Mugabe’s son-in-law Simba Chikore has now been set for the 6th of February.

Chikore, who is facing charges of unlawfully detaining his subordinate at the Zimbabwe Airways, Bertha Zakeyo had initially been set for the 14th of December 2017 but failed to kick off and was postponed to 24 January (yesterday).

It is the state’s case that Chikore reportedly detained Zakeyo, Zimbabwe Airways legal head for two hours at the airline’s offices in June last year.

Chikore who was arrested seperately with his security guard Simbarashe Mutimbe will now be tried together after Harare Magistrate Elisha Singano ruled that they acted in the same purpose.

According to the state, Chikore allegedly wrote to Zakeyo, informing of her dismissal for holding unsanctioned meetings and leaking company secrets.

This appeared to have been the source of the conflict that resulted in Chikore taking the law into his own hands and detained Zakeyo.
