By Talent Gondo| Member of Parliament for Mhondoro Ngezi, Mike Gava has died.

He was 37.

Chairman for Mashonaland West, Ziyambi Ziyambi said Gava died at Westend hospital this morning.

Gava had been battling for his life and last week, he was reportedly admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) at a local hospital.

“Our thoughts are with his family and we will forever cherish his contribution to Zanu Pf and parliament as MP for Mhondoro Ngezi,” said Ziyambi.

Ziyambi said Gava was a promising young man who was very courageous.

“The nation has lost a true son of the soil. May his dear soul rest in peace,” he said.

Gava was in the Zanu Pf Youth League since 1996 and he became Zanu Pf’s Secretary for Information and Publicity in 2003.

From 2009 to date, he was a Central Committee Member.
