  1. Please Zimbabwe and those in power, let the police do their work. we had a hut that housed good things we cherished. We saw the snake and decided to burn the hut so as to kill the snake. Unfortunately in the confusion of the heat and smoke we moved a distance away and did not noticed that the snake had siblings among us. Now the hut and its good things is gone never to be recovered. Those with analytical minds among us have began to lament the mistake we made. The name of the snake is corruption. The hut is ZRP. The good things were the help they rendered to accident victims, the swift coordination with Fire Brigade, ambulances and hospitals. Identification of the deceased. Notification of next of kin. Investigation of causes. Subsequent prosecution of the trouble causers. They also deterred over speeding through speed traps and road blocks. They also helped us make claims with insurance companies to get replacements or repairs for our vehicles. Now that we burnt the hut, our people are dying on the roads everyday without any help. No recovery, replacement or repair of our vehicles. No one cares about unlicensed drivers, reckless drivers, unroadworthy drivers etc. Destroy corruption within police but uphold the professional duty they have. I have seen junior officers making public statements about how their money was constantly taken by their bosses. This explains why traffic department was so corrupt. Address those issues and am sure corruption will greatly decrease. Also we the generality of Zimbabwe, stop being corrupt. If u are guilty u are guilty do not offer bribes just go to prison. Police must not be used to fund raise for the government but rather to maintain law and order. No country in the world has no independent police. temper with police and you will reduce the country to a land of do as you like. Festive season is upon us. Usually this time we see police campaigning with traffic safety council for safe driving but this year the message we get from media is “do as u like there is no police on the road, just carry ID in case u pass by a military roadblock”. Chihuri has lost credibility, appoint another seasoned but clean police officer to take over. WE really need the police at full service again.
