How Robert Mugabe triggered a tribal and factional war.
Staff Reporter| A latest video of former ZANU PF National Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere’s house shows karanga speaking soldiers paying a second visit to the property.
The video may suggest earlier suspicion by analysts that military generals (in order to ensure loyalty and performance), unleashed Karanga speaking soldiers to deal with the G40 faction leaders. The development strongly illustrates the events which eventually culminated in the coup on November 13th but were sequentially directly triggered by the incidents beginning from the 30th June 2017 when while in Masvingo former President Robert Mugabe spoke loudly saying there are some leaders among the Karangas who have declared they do not want anymore to be ruled by Zezurus (from Harare.)
Mugabe ordered the Masvingo people they must accept being ruled by Harare. “Then the seniors who want to corrupt the youths who say we no longer want to be ruled by Harare…they’re finalists and they claim that their tribe is superior. The liberation struggle was won by non tribal means. Every tribe contributed to our victory,” Mugabe declared.
Mugabe continued, “We should follow the ethos set by the likes of Muzenda and Chitepo . . .that is why we say you should listen to what the people want. Here in Masvingo I am troubled by one thing. Did the writer check the tribal origins of the soldiers on duty at the claimed location? If so, how did he or she do it? Really, this is utter rubbish. Whether the writer liked it or not, Mugabe, whose tribal origins are shroud in uncertainty, ruled Zim for 37 years and he was not bothered although he bothered most of us, including the writer.
