By Tafadzwa Mpofu | 52nd minute goal by Daniel “Major” Chakupe gave the Sunday Mhofu Chidzambwa led side a win against Kelvin Kaindu’s charges in Nyamhunga Stadium in their first match of the 2017 Castle lager premier soccer league.
A pass of class from Franscisco Zikumbawire to Chakupe who netted to a far post from penalty spot area gave their side a lead. Chidzambwa described their home win a “good start” in season, and he is looking forward to end on a better position than last season.
ZPC Kariba finished 6th last season and they lost 1 game and drew to How Mine last season.
“It was a good start, we want to finish on a better position than last season”, said Chidzambwa after their victory.
How Mine dominated in the first half and their fate twisted in the second half with brilliant passes and good distribution from Talent Chamboko and Raphiel Manuvire who joined Kauya katuruturu this season.
“I expect to do my best”, said Zikumbawire before the match who assisted the goal.
However, Kaindu admitted the loss, “we lost but it was a good match, we played well in first half, said the How Mine coach who is also looking forward to the title.”
“All the coaches need the title and I’m looking to the title,” he added on to say.
