A fatal road accident occurred on the Harare-Chirundu Road on New Year’s Eve, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuring ten others.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the accident took place around 8 pm and involved an Isuzu KB 250 and an overloaded Toyota Probox carrying 13 passengers.

The police report stated that the Isuzu KB 250 side-swiped the Toyota Probox, which had exceeded its recommended passenger capacity. The victims’ bodies were taken to the Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital mortuary, while the injured were admitted to the same hospital for treatment.

The accident highlights concerns about road safety and potential issues with vehicle regulation enforcement.
