The Zimbabwean government has voiced its strong concern over a disturbing AI-generated image that depicts President Emmerson Mnangagwa lying down with what appears to be blood stains…

The image has caused significant outrage within the ruling Zanu PF party, prompting swift calls for action.

Presidential spokesperson George Charamba took to his Ghost X handle (@donzamusoro007) to condemn the image, urging the police to investigate the matter. “JUST CHECK THIS MACABRE, AI-GENERATED IMAGE!!! Kuti zvidii nhai @cozwva? I hope @PoliceZimbabwe has seen this criminal act!!!!!!,” Charamba posted, expressing his shock and anger at the image.

The image, which has circulated publicly, is believed to have originated from the Children of Zimbabwe War Veterans Association (COZWVA) handle on X (formerly Twitter). Charamba’s outburst reflects the government’s frustration with the image, which he described as a “criminal act” and a malicious attempt to tarnish the President’s image.

Political analysts have suggested that the image is more a reflection of public discontent, rather than a serious attempt to incite violence. Nonetheless, Charamba’s call for police intervention highlights the seriousness with which the government is treating the issue.
