Tinashe Sambiri|Suspected State Security agents nearly abducted an MDC Alliance official in central Harare on Thursday.

The MDC Alliance has urged its members to fortify their security to thwart abductions.

On Thursday afternoon, Victor Muchavhaira, the MDC Alliance Mash West Secretary for Defence was nearly abducted at gunpoint.

Two men forced him to the ground, pointed guns and then dragged him to a white ISUZU.

Citizens scuttled the abduction attempt, according to eyewitnesses.
