Sikhala Barred From Seeing Tortured Activist Legwani Mavhunga

By A Correspondent| Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala has been blocked from seeing incarcerated activists Legwani Mavhunga and Munyaradzi Mafararikwa who are being kept at Harare Remand prison.

Sikhala posted on Twitter that when he got there, a prison officer by the name Chibwe told him that Commissioner General of Prisons had ordered that he should be allowed to see them.

“I am at Harare Remand prison bringing food to Legwani Mavhunga & Munyaradzi Mafararikwa who were badly tortured. One prison officer, a Chibwe is saying tht he hs bn told by the Commissioner General of Prisons, Chikobvu not to allow myself to see them. This behavior is abhorrent,” said Sikhala.

Legwani Mavhunga was arrested for showing solidarity to Sikhala was tortured in police custody.

He was reportedly hospitalized after the alleged torture.
