“Those Around ED Do Not Like Him At All”

By Tinashe Eric Muzamhindo- This week alone, I have lost three tyres, and there is nothing I can do, and I have to frequent Goromonzi and Seke for survival.

The state of our roads is extremely bad, looking at the congestion around CBD, Ruwa, Bulawayo road, Chitungwiza, you can safely say, we have a serious leadership crisis, which requires urgent attention.

I saw men and women, clapping hands, doing jingles in Karanda, Mt Darwin, but at the back of their heads, they were laughing.

We need honest independent opinion makers around ” Presidency” , who must give the President solid advice, on why he is on top of the country.

The title ” President”, is easily fading away, and very soon, even kids around the street, will easily get away with it. Presidency must be felt on the ground, and the moment you talk about ” Presidency”, there must be a huge impact, perhaps a better way of pronouncing the title.

As we speak, we are now fast approaching a stage where people are literally concluding that it’s now a common title in the streets. It’s now a light weight title, and if something is not done urgently with those around him, there could be serious signal ahead of us. For political expediency,

I can safely say, he has scored in Mt Darwin, but apparently, we have a huge crisis to close the gap of the title ” Presidency”. Bootlickers must be eroded around him, and immediately after the Karanda project, we should be hearing an announcement of sacking at least fifty people.

The Karanda function was supposedly to be presided by a Deputy Minister, or perhaps a mere councilor or something else. The President needs independent opinion makers, or independent Advisory council to give him honest opinion on what is exactly on the ground.

They should have told him to shelve, and give it to another person to be in charge. On the political side, he has scored, and this will get him not less than 1000 votes, but the obsession of elections or voting pattern is surprising ahead of national development.

The recalling and reversal of PDP legislators, amongst them, Harare East legislator, Tendai Biti and many others could be a sign that we have crisis ahead of us.

The intelligence department and many other Advisory internal wings should have done their homework to avert such an embarrassment. State House “defections” functions Why would advisors allow the President to welcome party cadres and defectors at State House? State House is a special place, and it’s meant for State functions on special occasions.

Honestly, people like Chebundo, Timveous and many others triggering plot Number 1 to be a play ground for boys and girls? There is need for special advisors to be in place, to close this gap which caused huge embarrassment. Look at our neighbouring countries, Mozambique, Zambia, their road network, bridges, dams, health care systems etc.

In Zambia, every district has a hospital. Edgar Lungu of Zambia is commissioning a Government Project on weekly basis, and because of the number of projects, he is delegating some of the assignments to his Deputy President, Mama Inonge Wina.

I was literally disappointed, when I saw the youth Minister , Coventry announcing the reintroduction of the Border Gezi National Youth Service, do we need that? We need a proper Economic Recovery framework which reduces the unemployment rate from 90% to 47%.

This is the news we want to hear. We are available for Advisory services. We need to open industry, and huge chunk of our resources or expenditure must be channeled to the manufacturing sector.

All these resources which are meant for the national youth service must be redirected to the main critical sectors of the economy such as Agriculture, Infrastructure development, health, tourism, mining and education.

If Development speaks for itself, honestly, we have no excuse for people to vote for President Mnangagwa. This is what those around the President must be telling him. Instead of parading these defectors, let’s put irrigation schemes around the country, let’s build one hospital per district, let’s open car assemblies, let’s put spaghetti roads around Hate, Mutare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Masvingo etc.

Let’s Commission big projects which creats employment. Instead of commissioning these single lane foot bridges, let’s build one state of the art hospital, one state of the art school of medicine, and many other projects which creats employment.

To balance the equation, the President must be felt on the ground with better admiration. We need better things, people are eager to witness projects which make huge economic impact.

We need stimulus ideas. Development must speak for itself. Allow me to say, if those around the President does not offer checks and balances, we might get to a situation where people will draw a line in the sand across political divide.

Since the inception of your Presidency, at least by now, we must have seen something in progress, we must have witnessed development, huge projects, dismantling of corruption within the public sector Last but not least, why Masvingo and Midlands people in key Government positions alone? But why Mr President? Is this necessary?

Please do something, those around you, do not even like you, especially with what happened in Karanda !!! Who is responsible for sending images to our President? At least, they should send him images of potholes around town, Norton, Goromonzi etc.

The congestion around CBD is not looking good. Where is the money for alluvial diamonds? Where is the money for gold around Midlands and other provinces? Where is the money for platinum going? Even putting patches on these roads is still difficult for the Government?
