By A Correspondent| A group of Zanu PF youths who were once allies of embattled former Labour minister, Petronella Kagonye have turned their sword on her accusing the politician of fraud and duping them money.
The youths who formed a housing project with Kagonye when she was the Member of Parliament for Goromonzi South, allege that she defrauded them of more than US$450 000.
It is alleged that the youths formed a Joint venture company called Gobsbaden whilst she was still a sitting Zanu PF legislator between 2013 and 2018.
She allegedly used some youth and loyalists to register a company called Gobsbaden through which some empowerment projects were to be carried out.
It is alleged that she went around the constituency addressing youth and made them pay US$10 joining fees.
“Some of the signatories to the Gobsbaden account were Ms. Jenje and she was then instructed by Kagonye to withdraw monies periodically and give her for her personal use, ” the source said.
“At one point US$30,000 was withdrawn from the account and given to her to fund her brothers wedding,” the source said.
Peter Mubare who was her constituency Coordinator at the time and witness to the fraud has given a report to SACU.
A police source at SACU said the unit which is seemingly having a no- nonsense approach to graft are seized with the matter.
The youths through their leader Arthur Chidenhe have also reported the matter to SACU.
“So if one youth was made to pay US$10 joining fee and at one point she withdrew US$30000 how many youth were defrauded,” a source said.
Attempts to get a comment from Kagonye were fruitless while SACU refused to comment
