Tinashe Sambiri|Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has no appetite to deal with corruption, MDC Alliance leader, President Nelson Chamisa has said.

President Chamisa wrote on Twitter:
“The looting of covid-19 funds last year has not resulted in a single trial, let alone a conviction. That is open testimony that the supposed State authorities have no appetite to deal with corruption. Thanks to our African compatriots for this award which acts as such a reminder.”

President Chamisa also commended prominent journalist Hopewell Chin’ono for winning an award for exposing corruption:

“The ultimate prize is to give back where we came from, and not to take from the poor in what is known as looting. We hope that those who have caused so much suffering to our people will learn one or two things from this gesture. Well done brother Hopewell for remembering others.”

Below is Hopewell’s tweet:

I commit ALL the prize money from this important award to helping buy basic PPE for Murewa Hospital!

I would like to thank all the sources, journalists & citizens who helped me put together the exposures.

More importantly, I would like to thank @ZLHRLawyers for standing with me
