Zimbabwe’s Own Think Tank ZIST Launched

Harare based Policy Researcher and Academic Tinashe Eric Muzamhindo has launched Zimbabwe Institute of Strategic Thinking (ZIST), a think tank aimed at providing lasting solutions to Zimbabwe’s comatose economy and political conundrum.
In his keynote address at the launch in Harare, the Executive Director of ZIST made it clear that Zimbabwe needs home grown solutions that are Solution Oriented and focused thinking.
 “We have chrome, we have gold reserves, we have nickel, we have alluvial diamonds in Marange and we are the second largest producer of Platinum in the world yet we are the poorest nation”, said Muzamhindo.
 He emphasized the need to have strategic thinking with mindset transformation to turn around the economy.
” We must be focused as Zimbabweans, and we must ensure that in everything we do we must remain strategic”, he said.
The ZIST founder believes all solutions must be tabled through what he calls a strategic stakeholders engagement where strategic people come together with all solutions to provide  solution focused thinking.
“We have BUILD, we have ZIM ASSET, we have JUICE, we have RE- LOAD, and we have SMART and COMMAND AGRICULTURE, so where is our problem?”, asked Muzamhindo adding that ZIST will be providing a platform for the refining of all good ideas and economic blueprints to produce quality results.
The event was well attended by delegates from the corporate world, academics including among others Kingdom Bank CEO , Nigel Chanakira, the outspoken presidential critic and advisor Shingie Munyeza, Tapiwa Mashakada, Professor Tsitsi Chataika and Joveic Executive Director, Dr Nad.
Muzamhindo said ZIST is  expected to bring Emmerson Mnangagwa, and his arch – rivalry, Nelson Chamisa, the church, Civic society, Academics, Researchers, political players and many others to a negotiating table to sculpt home grown solutions to scaffold the country for growth and stability.
Many people across political divide, business Community, church , Government, parastatals, diplomatic Community have endorsed ZIST.
 Speaking to the media soon after the launch, Executive Director of Zimbabwe Together, Precious Musarurwa welcomed ZIST launch, saying it was a long overdue initiative which Zimbabweans needed to resolve political and economic stalemate to take this country forward.
 Executive Director of Deicov International Dr. Nad described the project as the antidote to the nation’s long time woes.
Business mogul and the founder of Kingdom bank Nigel Chanakira applauded Muzamhindo for coming up with such an “excellent” initiative and urged the youthful academic to be resolute to achieve his dreams to “liberate” the country economically and politically through solution oriented convergence
Ugaro, a well known Harare-based Economist echoed the same sentiments underscoring the need  for home grown solutions to strategically achieve economic development in the country.
ZIST is expected to table a document to all stakeholders including the Government, Civic society, church, academics, researchers, diplomatic Community, business community, state institutions and other development partners to creat a platform for strategic stakeholders engagement.
