Press State By The Solutions Council|The Local Solutions Council would like to counsel Zimbabweans that Section 59 of the Constitution legalises and permits Citizens to PROTESTagainst the incumbent Zimbabwe Government.

Consequently; in line with this constitutional mandate, the Local Solutions Council is urging the People of Zimbabwe to ARISE & PROTEST in their millions under the banner of #FreeZimbabwePeacefulProtest on Friday the 16th of August 2019.

The Local Solutions Council advocates for Citizens to ARISE & PROTEST NOW to demand for genuine and irreversible reforms in Zimbabwe and not wait for the 2023 elections.

The #FreeZimbabwePeacefulProtest is not a battle against individuals but a rotten systemthat has survived because of our reluctance as Zimbabweans to exercise our constitutional right to PROTEST under Section 59.

Moreover; the #FreeZimbabwePeacefulProtest is a constitutional right that every patriotic Zimbabwean should ARISE & Get INVOLVED in regardless of political affiliation because what we are standing against is not partisan but a national crisis.

Conditional People Support

The Local Solutions Council reminds the nation that there is social contract between Zimbabweans and the Government that is premised on the grounds that the Government of the Day must deliver a sustainable standard of goods and services to the people in exchange for loyalty and support, failure of which the people must demand recourse and action

Thus, the Local Solutions Council in conjunction with other pro-democracy organisations and civil society enjoins Zimbabweans to ARISE and PROTEST against:

  • State Capture
  • Government’s incompetence
  • NSSA Looting
  • Mismanagement of the economy
  • Command Agriculture Looting
  • Corruption
  • Nepotism
  • Power Shortages
  • Chiadzwa Diamond Looting
  • Dilapidated & crumbling public infrastructure
  • Government induced abject poverty
  • Hyperinflation
  • Low salaries
  • ZINARA Looting
  • Scarcity of drugs in clinics and hospitals

Security Services Appeal

The Local Solutions Council is making a public appeal to the country’s security services to exercise restraint and protect peaceful protestors.

Infact, protesters are encouraged to adequately make use of mobilephone cameras to film and record any acts of violence meant to disrupt the peaceful protest

Protest Caution

The Local Solutions Council is urging Citizens to desist from acts of violence & looting but to remain peaceful and be ready for months of rolling peaceful protests.

Protest Goal

Lastly but not least: the #FreeZimbabwePeacefulProtest is a FIGHTagainst: 18hrs of load shedding, against passport shortages, against poverty, against exorbitant kombi fares, against exorbitant tollgate fees, against unaffordable school fees, against looting of state resources, against inability to protect pensioners and the elderly and against graduating to be a vendor or a money changer.

In the end, the Local Solutions Council is championing Zimbabweans from around the World and in Zimbabwe to ARISE & PROTEST NOWin their millions and demand for genuine and irreversible reforms in Zimbabwe and not wait for the 2023 elections.
