Emmerson Mnangagwa

I am honoured to join the nation as we commemorate Heroes day and pay tribute to our illustrious gallant sons and daughters of the soil.

Let us honour their sacrifices and rich heritage by pledging to put our nation first.

Wherever we are, lets build on this great heritage.
We remember them individually and collectively for fighting bravely.

We also recognise the ordinary villagers, boys anf girls who contributed to the liberation struggle

The President gives salutation and recognises all present local and foreign dignitaries including leaders of the local opposition parties.

These heroes here and others at marked and unmarked graves gave their lives for this freedom and peace.

Let us honour them by observing peace and unity.

Let us shun, violence, tribalism, regionalism and all other ills.

Violence must be shunned while we promote dialogue.
