AMH Owner Trevor Owner “Embarrassed”

By Own Correspondent- Trevor Ncube, the owner of Alpha Media Holdings (AMH), the company that publishes Newsday, The Standard and Zimbabwe Independent newspapers has apologised for a story carried in one of his publications saying such reportage has left him “embarrassed”.

The Newsday of Tuesday, March 12, 2019, had a headline which reads: “RTGS To Devalue Further: RBZ”.

Ncube said he is “heartbroken by the bias shown in the story.

Writting on twitter, Ncube said:

“My heart breaks that Newsday Zimbabwe got this story so wrong. This is an example of our blind spots/biases colouring our world view contributing to polarisation. While l maintain my newspapers are not me/l am not my newspapers – I am embarrassed. Sincere apologies to Zimbabwe.”
