Farai Dziva|FC Platinum will be without their Cameroonian striker Albert Eonde in their CAF Champions League encounter against Orlando Pirates.
Eonde, 20, did not travel with the rest of the team to South Africa after he failing to secure a visa on time.
According to Chronicle, club media liaison officer, Chido Chizondo, explained how they had started the process to secure a visa for Eonde but failed.
“That was very unfortunate, we have been made to understand that North Africa and West African countries are required to apply for their visa seven days before departure,” she said told the daily paper.
“And this involves them going for an interview, it’s a very long process, so we did not manage to meet the deadlines for that particular process to bring Eonde to South Africa.”
The striker featured in the previous Group B encounters, and his absence in the coming match will certainly force coach Norman Mapeza to put his hopes on Mkhokheli Dube, Thomas Chideu and Ali Sadiki as the team searches for the first goal in the group phase.
The match is set for Orlando Stadium in Jo’burg on Friday and kick-off is at 9 pm Zimbabwean time.
