By Own Correspondent- MDC Deputy Treasurer Charlton Hwende has been remanded in custody until the 20th of March.

Hwende was arrested yesterday at Robert Mugabe International Airport and charged with treason.

He was apprehended on arrival from Namibia where he had sought treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

Said Pedzisayi Ruhanya, a political commentator in a tweet:

“Kuwadzana East MP Hon Chalton Hwende charged with treason at Harare Magistrate Court today. Remanded in custody until 20 March 2019. His lawyer dashed to High Court to apply for bail. So much of the bogus ED new dispensation. Zim is surely open for treason charges business!”
