By Own Correspondent|Spokeaperaon for the MDC led by Nelson Chamisa has denied that former President Robert Mugabe was funding the opposition party or its leader.

Jacob Mafume implored those peddling falsehoods that Mugabe was financing Chamisa and the MDC to leave Mugabe in peace.

Said Mafume:

“I think the old man must be left in peace. We as the MDC-Alliance and President Chamisa are engaged with the issues of the suffering of the people. We are trying to resolve the political and economic crisis which is affecting the people of Zimbabwe. We have not received any funding from the former President and neither are we expecting any funding.”
