Chibaya, who together with several others was arrested following civil unrest and disturbances which rocked Gweru in the national #Shutdown announced by the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) following President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s announcement increasing the price of fuel by over 140 percent.

Zanu Pf has however laid blame for the violence and looting which then characterised the protest to opposition MDC led by Nelson Chamisa.
