Kerina Mujati | President Emmerson Mnangagwa rather than prioritising handing over our land to White Farmers, should pause, take a deep breath and reflect on his role during Gukurahundi.
This is a sensitive issue which took place, he was part of which and he cannot simply wish it away. The Chinese are not a priority as we see how fond he is willing to readily please them. These Chinese don’t give anyone free dinners but are there only to loot our resources, sacrificing our people to modern day slavery in our nation.
The people of Matebeleland needs closure. The nation needs to be healed yet he promotes tribalism as we have noted that most influential posts in our institutions have been dished out to those from Masvingo and Midlands. This is worrying and many fear a Gukurahundi in our institutions will be the order of the day as one’s tribe determines what one gets and not one’s capabilities.
The Youths League appointments reflect this culture and the fact that he is not willing to reform in terms of how he sees us. We are all equal but separate hence I demand an equal opportunities system. You cannot talk of compensating White Farmers as if they brought any land when rather they are Mercenaries whose great great parents were chased out of England and the Western world. Gukurahundi cannot be wished away as an imaginary event. It happened and it is hightime you do the right thing and address this for the sake of the victims.
Gukurahundi victims and their families DESERVE compensation and closure not the White Farmers. Why should we compensate White Farmers yet it is a fact that our Ancestors suffered at the hands of these colonialists, white supremacists who robbed our land and livestock? Stop insulting our intelligence by trying to please your masters at the expense of our people.
The best thing the White Farmers and Zimbabwe White community can do for themselves is to work and join hands with the rest of us in building our nation not their warped mentality that they are more qualifying and deserving than the rest of us. Their skin colour SHOULD NEVER be used as a barometer of how best they are as indeed we know otherwise. Justice for Gukurahundi victims. Compensation for Gukurahundi victims and a public apology is most welcome not to try and play vindictive politics. I come in peace. Ichoo#cd3sistermwenewazvo#

Dissidents were indeed there. But the question is how they came about; how many they were and what their objective was. Nobody has ever opened up to answer these questions and ZANU PF will never do so.
In December 1987 those who are said to have come forward and laid down their weapons were only about 60. Now think about it – 60 vs 20 000 dead Matebeleland people? Even if it could be argued that 20 000 is stretching it – we bring it down to 10 000, or 5 000 – surely, 60 vs 10 000 or 5 000, does that make sense?
Any objective and no tribalistic person will see that, Gukurahundi was definitely not about dissidents.
And if truth be told – had the ZANU PF had a case, they would not be suppressing this issue they way they have been doing all these years. The guilty are afraid, so goes the English saying.
It is the guilty who have a vested interest in making sure things are swept under the carpet and forgotten, not the innocent!!
So Black lives dont matter?
All atrocities should be addressed, including Madziti era. Bring your Madzviti era witnesses and perpetrators. We will bring our Gukurahundi witnesses and the perpetrators too. Then all will be square and fair!!
If it was me I would have done the same. Food first on the table and then deal with fed people who can be less angry
The people of Matabeleland are very civilised people, that is what makes them special and nobody will take that away from them. They are not demanding that ED bring those who committed those genocide crimes to justice, as they know he has no capacity to do so, all what they want is for ED to acknowledge their mistake, officially, and then apologise on behalf of Zanu-PF.Whether there will be compensation for victims after that, that is another topic for another day to be debated.ED and his government at present are refusing to take responsibility for what they did. They are arguing that the people of Matabeleland deserved that treatment, of being killed, raped and being byoneted by 5th Brigade soldiers.Their crime was that they harboured dissidents or they just think Gukurahundi never happened. My question about dissidents at the time, is that if it was really true that they belonged to Zapu, then why did they murder senior Zapu officials in Matabeleland and white tourists?
How can he priotise something which he was involved personal. Jonathan Moyo is quoted saying ZANU PF cannot reform itself out of power,So you guys who are lobbying about Gukurahundi continue fighting oneday you will punish the likes of Mnangagwas,As for now and as ZANU PF is in power you may bury your heads in the sand, nothing ,totaly nothing will be achieved especially bringing perpertrators to court of Law.Alot of those 5 brigde soldiers are now Majors captains in the Army,Perence Shiri is now a Minister etc .
For progress sake may you follow what Father Zimbabwe did, unless you are on Jonathan Moyo payrole pliz continue.
So you honestly think the butcher will apologise to the meat , noooo , where have you heard a bitcher saying sorry to the calves of the cattle he has killed . dreams
Remember those whites are Zimbabweans too. Some without even dual citizenship.
I hear people of mash central also want closure to the attrocities done during “madzviti era” . my foot. which attrocities shld ED start to deal with???
I believe Mnangagwa blundered on promising White farmers compensation and then deliberately ignoring the issue of Black human rights violations by his party and by him personally. This has created the impression that Whites, their lives and properties have a higher value than that of Black people in their own country and Continent.
The question then is, why did ZANU go to war? What were they fighting for since they indeed are in agreement with Ian Smith and his Rhodesians that White people are far more important and their lives and properties are far more precious than that of Black people? This is a total embarrassment to the Black race. And they cry, Black lives Matter – to who?
