By Dorrothy Moyo| A wild rumour continued to swell early Wednesday morning that there has been gunfire near Police Commissioner Augustine Chihuri’s house, against an atmosphere of silence by the country’s police spokesperons.

The report also claimed there is a fire at his Greystone Park house.

But Chihuri was today listed on the schedule of delegates at the official ceremony for the renaming of KGVI Barracks.

The phones of Police Spokesman Commissioner Charity Charamba and her colleague Paul Nyathi were both not reachable. Further attempts to get details from other officers were neither fruitful. ZimEye.com will continue to investigate while we check with Commissioner Chihuri himself – ZimEye

  1. When they say “we are protecting the gains of the liberation struggle” they are referring to the $10 million dollar notes in their houses and the many farms they were allocated by Mugabe under “operation restore land.” I therefore see no reason why the ordinary man on the street should celebrate when the army is addressing the nation on state television.

  2. There is no way Chihuri managed to build that mansion on the merge salary of a ZRP commissioner’s salary alone. He too has some explaining to do or the mansion must be seized!

He said in his doctorate thesis that the greatest challenge for the Police was to keep “regime change agents at bay”. We now can see with our own eyes why he was abusing his power to stifle democratic change and keep Zanu PF in power at all cost. He had a mansion to build and with Zanu PF in power his source of loot was guaranteed.

We have some serious cleaning up to do when this Zanu PF dictatorship finally collapse.
