Mujuru in desperate measures to stop Mawarire presser

Staff Reporter| National People’s Party President Joyce Mujuru is reportedly making frantic efforts to block her former party spokesperson, Jealous Mawarire from holding a press conference on Monday to explain his resignation from the party this week.

Mawarire tendered his resignation from both the party and the position of spokesperson to Mujuru on Wednesday claiming that he was resigning following his physical fight with presidential spokesperson Gift Nyandoro last week.

In his letter, Mawarire blamed Mujuru for treating Nyandoro with kid-gloves and favouring him when in fact Nyandoro was allegedly damaging the party with what Mawarire described as arrogance on Nyandoro’s part.

Mawarire has since told ZimEye and other media houses he is holding a press conference on Monday where he promises to reveal the on goings in the party which have forced him to jump out than wait for a formal hearing on their bitter tiff with Nyandoro.

Following that announcement, Mujuru’s private access phone number was on Wednesday disabled.

Mawarire also says she responsible for the mess surrounding his physical fight with Dr Joice Mujuru’s personal spokesman Gift Nyandoro last week. Following the brutal fighting which left Nyandoro in a wheelchair, hospitalised, Mawarire announced today he is hitting the streets.

The development also follows Mrs Mujuru’s coming out during her weekly ZimEye program last week Friday to take motherly responsibility for the fighting between “the two boys.”  Below was Mawarire’s letter (BELOW VIDEO) (story continues below):

Sources very close to Mujuru indicated to ZimEye.com she is desperately trying to block Mawarire from holding the press conference which it is suspected will expose a lot about the party since Mawarire was very close to Mujuru as party spokesperson.
