President Robert Mugabe has indicated that his second wife, Grace, will not succeed him.
Speaking while addressing youths attending celebrations to mark the Day of the African Child, Mugabe pointed to a male takeover.
The new ZANU PF constitution, copied from opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s, gives Mugabe the exclusive powers to appoint his successor.
” I am on my way out,” Mugabe said.
Speaking during the first time the man revealed his after-life wishes, the President talked of a male takeover by those he termed “courageous men”.
“Once upon a time, I was like you. But I am not like you anymore. I am on my way out,” he said.
He continued, “but when I look over my shoulder, I would want to see bold and courageous men. I want to look behind and say those coming will be better than me.”
“That is what we always fight to do. To be better than our parents, initially be like them but strive to be better,” he said.
Mugabe has in recent days also spoken ill of his wife saying she torments him at home. “This is how she troubles me at home, so I just play a listener”, Mugabe said 6 months ago.

The light has dawned on the despot that time is fast running out. He has for the first time addressed his own succession plan which is still treasonous for the rest of the mortals.
