Local government Minister, Saviour Kasukuwere self proclaimed youths yesterday attacked Harare residents at a public hearing at the Rainbow Towers Hotel.

Denford Ngadziore (pictured) was brutally attacked and injured for trying to speak against the Local Gvt bill by ZANU PF supporters today at a public hearings at the Rainbow Towers in Harare,” said Harare West MP Jessie Majome.
She continued, “Taurai Kazado a young man from Ward 16 Harare West was also brutalised and suffered back and internal injuries and bold clots for which he was hospitalised.
“I’m thoroughly disappointed that bussed in ZANU PF supporters were brought in to crowd out and shut up bona fide Harare voices and defend the minister their political commissar. The moment we MPs waddled into the already packed room I could tell the horde was not from Harare add the putrid and musty stench of wood fire smoke pervaded the hotel.
“As the only opposition MP in the team I was unhappy about the the chairperson failing to earn his rowdy party mates from sloganeering, rowdiness and wearing pay insignia. Violence broke out when Denford Ngadziore the 2nd speaker was drowned out after a ZANU woman declared she wanted ‘their’ minister to work without any interference from Parliament of Zimbabwe. I suspect fellow MPs on the panel Harare South BP &ZANU PF Harare Commissar and Dzivaresekwa MP Omega Hungwe had were instrumental in the mobilization of the hordes add they reach arrived fashionably late causing rousing disruptive welcomes which coincided with streaming in of more hordes.
For some strange reason the chair insisted on resuming the meeting in such a rowdy and intimidatory atmosphere. I suspect he was under orders to ensure ZANU PF pro bill views are recorded after the driving in Masvingo, Gweru, Bulawayo and elsewhere.
I am writing a complaint to the Speaker about this very un-parliamentary charade. In my view Parliament should guarantee the safety of all who are invited by it to hearings and liable for costs of treatment etc to victims of this failure.
The only way for Harare residents to outsmart this bullying is to send an avalanche of emails/letters to the clerk of Parliament candidly criticising the bill in an Amnesty International style [email protected] or PO BOX BY 298 Causeway or delivering them to Parliament.
