Terrence Mawawa, Masvingo| The battle for supremacy between Joice Mujuru and party founder, Didymus Mutasa has intensified in the Zim People First party such that Mutasa is clandestinely fighting to unseat the former Vice President.
To sum up the level of in-fighting in ZPF, party founder, Rugare Gumbo has been thrown into hospital after his blood pressure shot up to horrific levels having been hit with shock after Mujuru snubbed him appoiting the youthful Jelousy Mawarire the party spokesperson.
Party sources revealed to ZimEye.com, Mutasa and Claudius Makova have clashed with Mujuru over the selection and appointment of members to key posts with the pair eager to surround themselves with former Zanu PF members while closing the door for members who joined the party from other opposition parties.
“Mutasa and Makova
are not keen to appoint former MDC and PDP members to key posts. They are yet to be weaned from the Zanu PF mentality. Makova who is the interim Provincial Coordinator is working with Mutasa to frustrate former MDC and PDP members. There are serious differences between Mujuru and Mutasa over the same issue. Makova is being used by Mutasa to set up stuctures that are dominated by former Zanu PF members. To our surprise, Makova and Mutasa are working with Zanu PF members to formulate strategies. If you look at the line up of speakers at party rallies, former Zanu PF members are given preference. Makova and Mutasa have surrounded themselves with former Zanu PF activists. They are also deliberately annihilating former MDC and PDP members,” said a party official who declined to be named.
It is also understood the two accuse Mujuru of lacking commitment energy towards the ZPF project resulting in sharp differences.
