Pastor Forces 6yr Old Kids to Pay Tithes

Dear Editor.
I write with deep concern as the pastor of my church has ordered our kids to pay tithes. My son who is 6 years old came home telling us they are being told to pay monthly tithes. I have approached the Sunday school teachers and they told us that this is the only way to obtain the favour of God. So does God require us to buy His favour? And also how is it still be favour then? I am confused. I am new to pentecostalism and so need help understanding.

  1. you are wrong, tithes were not paid to preachers but to physical levites, and now it is no longer binding since the messiah replaced the levitical priesthood. Musanyeperwe none of the apostles took tithes, besides sei muchda ku selecta certain elements of the law and turn around and say u r not under the law, tithing was part of the law. There is no verse which supports giving tithes to “church”, it was only a law of upkeep for levi who didnt own any land or farm like the other 11 brothers thats why they were commanded to do so, plus tithes was food not money.

  2. the kid is not being forced to pay tithes but being advised on the correct things to do. if the kid is given pocket money then a tenth should go towards tithe. its a biblical principle to pay tithes. the mother is not being fair to her kid coz this is the starting age to teach about tithes

  5. Sibanda are you serious you are consulting a newspaper/journalist advice on tithes. Use the bible as your manual. There are many churches you can join a new one.
    What do u mean a pastor is forcing? Don’t mislead the media. Come clean on your real point.
