The man criticised for allegedly ‘blood-sucking’ singer Oliver Mtukudzi’s reputation by awarding the veteran singer a doctorate, Enrico Sibanda, has received a top businessman of 2014 award.
Sibanda who also handed preacher Emmanuel Makandiwa’s wife and businessman Phillip Chiyangwa the same doctorate award, was placed in the top 20 of prominent businessmen for the year 2014 at a function on Saturday night. Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko attended the function among a host of other high profile dignitaries.
Sibanda is the founder of the Zimbabwe based International Institute of Philanthropy a non-academic organisation which dishes out doctorates to people noted for acts of community kindness. Despite the criticism , the certificate Sibanda received at the function, refers to him as “Dr,” although he holds no such valid academic paper.
Sibanda told ZimEye.com “We are really honoured and humbled. You will realise that not so long ago there was so much controversy that came with our work in particular specific reference to the IIP doctorate, and people were mixing issues to the point that the then Minister of Higher Education Dr Olivia Muchena had to actually make it clear of our work (sic) in parliament and apparently, (on ) the issue of philanthropy, not that it is new. We as Africans Zimbabweans in particular have always practiced philanthropy, but I think it was the word philanthropy that was not common. It’s not a word that is commonly used here in Zimbabwe and you will find that after what happened to us, in terms of the publicity people began to use the word more often here in Zimbabwe.

Now these people ( Makandiwa, Eubert Angel, Magaya, and TB Joshua) are using The Word Of God to make money and using Christianity as a business. A man of God, a real man of God should not be benefiting financially from the monies and tithes donated in Church, buying expensive houses and expensive cars for themselves but should be giving all back to the poor, widows, lame, blind and buying clothes for those in mental institutions. I tell you all now that these three prophets are being used by the devil and if they don’t repent and go and get Baptised again esp in Johana Marange Church and confess their sins, they will not see or enter Heaven BUT they will all be cast into everlasting fire by The Lord God Jesus Christ our Father. That fire burns more than this fire you know and it will not be stopped. Magaya, Makandiwa, TB Joshua and Eubert Angel sell all you got and give all away, then when you have given away all go to Johane Marange and get Baptised if you do that God will forgive you.
